I came too late and bought it for 190
So I play Xbox and want to try streaming. However, stream can’t hear game chat. Would this work to allow stream to hear those I’m playing with that don’t play Xbox? Also if I do this, do I need a separate mic and if so do I plug it into my pc, cause I only see one jack on the capture card.

@@PovElijah yes please, right now I just have a 4K ultra hd usb3.0 hdmi video capture card. Nothing special but real cheap, like 30$. Right now I have it so that 2 hdmi ports connect to the my Xbox and tv. I also have an Elgato chat link connected to my wired headset. Not only did it not stream game chat, but was also staticy and slightly glitchy. Would the Elgato capture card fix this? Headset was old, have a new wireless one but need and adapter to plug into headset, doesn’t have a jack port.
I can't even tell you how helpful this is! I am in the exact scenario where I was debating upgrading from S+ to the X. I haven't made up my mind yet, but at least I have the info.

I have been waiting for your review! I got the HD60x for my PS5/M1 Mac set up and it works great. Glad I don’t need the Game Capture app anymore because it was so bad 😭 the analog audio and HDMI automatically switches on mine without needing to go into the Game Capture app like the HD60+ made me do. It just changes in OBS for me.

Great video ! My HD60x just arrived and I tried figuring out 120fps recording on Elgato’s app.
I found this directly from their site
“To record the full 120Hz signal into a 120fps video, other software such as OBS Studio must be used and configured to record at 120fps. “
Sucks their app can’t do it , flashback 120fps recording would be AMAZING

Thanks for the review, helps a bunch. I play natively in 4k @ 160hz, but unfortunately I don't think any reasonable priced cards will do that for me, so going to have to downgrade to 4k @ 60hz.
But with the Mk2 you can play in 4k120hz but stream/recording "only" in 4k60hz.

You can change the audio from OBS. You click on the capture, and then settings. Then click audio.

I only game in 1080p at 90fps to my monitor so the s+ does me good 💯🔥 streaming is phenomenal with the setup paired with OBS streaming at 1080p60 and a nice face cam 💫
I bought a HD60S+ and it barely works at all and I have no idea why. Tried everything. Disabled HDCP, changed HDR settings etc and cannot get a picture on PS5. My Nintendo switch recognises 1080p60 but the image is slow and choppy. It's only using 25% CPU and 20% RAM. The software is utterly terrible and I'm very disappointed. As an owner of the game capture HD which is fantastic (but only SDR and 1080p30 or 720p60) I'm sorely disappointed!
On the hd60 s+ i had to turn off hdr on my setup. With the hd60 x can you run with hdr enabled? I think on the xbox it was a yuv 4.2.2 that i had to turn off to get it to work. I don't record often but when i play i want my 4k with hdr whether im recording or not.

when you go to edit the video after using these devices is your voice separate from game audio? I have been trying to figure out how to separate my voice audio from the game audio so it isn't mixed and it makes subtitling easier aswell as adjusting volumes easier. this is for console recording if anyone can leave a link or some tips I appreciate it
I've watched quite a few of your El Gato videos and in all of them you mention HDCP in a tone of disappointment that the feature is there and requires disabling.
What I don't think you understand is bypassing DHCP potentially opens the user up to legal issues if it's turned off, so it's a warning more then anything.
It allows you to capture content that's protected as well as voice chat of users that option against sharing their microphone audio, which is infringing on their privacy rights when bypassed.
when you deactivate DHCP like the saying goes with great power comes great responsibility.

Hey man, I got a question. I have a desk at home with a ps5 and a gaming pc. I want to record/stream off my ps5, with a usb elgato wave 3 mic, elgato 4K X, wireless headphones, and a dual monitor type. How do I set that up? I don’t know where to plug mic into, how to get chat audio as well as my own and game audio.
Not sure if anyone can help. I have the ElGato 4K60 mk2 and I am recording Spider-Man 2 and for some odd reason when I record it skips frames 😞 when I play it back it’s when I notice the frame skipping.. anyone know how to fix this issue? I haven’t had it before, it just started with Spider-Man 2…

6:32 I was hoping there was a solution to that problem without me having to use the chat link for less wires because on my HD60S there literally no latency and I play my games using the hdmi audio. I use my AstroA40s to stream with.
I would just continue listening over hdmi to not have the wires. The latency is almost 0
When I record digital TV, my HD60S+ gives no data as to the incoming data stream rate in Mbps. I'd like to simply record at the same rate as is broadcast. I've tried to incrementally reduce the Mbps until the image degrades, but it is time consuming. Is there a method to measure this incoming stream from the TV/DVR?
Ok so i am using a imac as my streaming computer and a pc build as my gaming computer. I have the Hd60x connected via usb, to my imac. The hdmi porrs are connected correctly to my gaming pc also. I can get gaming audio but i can not hear my mic audio while talking in game or discord. I have a usb HyperX quad cast mic. Can you help?
Now HD60X is cheaper now than the HD 60S+. The latter is almost $500 CAN when the 60X is $209! It's a no brainer for me

The HD60x doesn't seem to work with the Astro Mixamp the same way as the S, and S+ does either. I can't get it to work without the screen spliting.

@MidnightMan I was wondering if you knew why my elgato hd60s+ has some really weird visual bugs, like when Im playing Cod & moving around looking around, my quality starts to get really blurry & nasty, but when I stop and just go afk the quality goes back to normal? is it just the fact that I'm moving rlly quick with a high sensitivity or something I need to fix in my elgato settings?
You need to update your stream settings. You have your quality either set to low, or bitrate is too low

I have the new MacBook Pro and I can't get the game footage to show up in the "Elgato Game Capture" app ...It passes through to my tv and the app is picking up the audio from the hd60x but it's not recognizing the gameplay footage. My Hd60 S+ works just fine but I can't get the x to show up :(

I have had nothing but problems with my hd60x ! The audio is the absolutely most frustrating thing, maybe ever! Sound constantly cuts on and off it makes the stream unwatchable and the recordings unusable and hundreds of hours of watching videos and reading faq, I can’t do it anymore.
I’m using an Xbox x, elgato hd60x and an i7 intel laptop running obs.
Did you fix your problem?
@@DeanHorton I did. I had to go in into sound settings in the operating system and manually set audio formats on each device. One source was off. I believe this fix was the main one to solve the issue.

I livestream tabletop board games with my iPhone 13 Pro using clean HDMI with OBS at 1080p 60fps. Will a capture card make for smoother video? The iPhone sometimes shows some micro jittering when moving the camera. Will the capture card improve on this?
Bro I am trying to use the HDS60+ but it gives me black screen on my PS5 monitor, it does say it is connected to the PC and OBS but I get no signal and black screen, HDCP is off, I checked everything but it's just not working, just ordered the HD60X hoping that will do the job.

It says that the HD60x needs a Ryzen 7 or better. I have a Ryzen 5 3600. Do you think that will be enough to be compatible with each other? I thought the Ryzen 5 might get close to the minimun specs. Or do I need to upgrade my CPU to a Ryzen 7?

I for the hd60x but everytime I open the 4k capture utility app the gameplay being mirrored freezes after like a minute. Any suggestion? Paid almost 200 and can’t even stream cuz of this problem

Does this work with iPad Pro I have an elgato hd60s the old one and I already noticed upon getting my new iPad Pro that it doesn’t work with it. It shows the screen but then crashes like 5 seconds in. I tested it with my iPhone and it works fine. And yes I do have the lightning adapter for the iPad Pro.
You didn't mention if I could record * to * an ipad instead of a computer. I got an iPad Pro and my hd 60 s (no +) doesn't work with it.

love your videos, bought the hd60x, very easy to set up but i think my mac might be too old, seems like i can only record in 720p 30fps, there is stuttering. should have i gone with the one that records directly to sd card? because then i can still use the mac to do some light editing on the videos which i have tested works fine on imovie ?

I used it fine on Mac, but it has limitations if you want to use chat link cable to record audio from controller. If you listen from computer you’re fine, just have a second usb mic plugged into your console so people can hear you

Can it work with a wireless headset bro?
depends on the wireless headset. If it's not astros or arctis nova pros then no, as the chat link requires the audio to be pulled via analog. Normal wireless headsets will pull the audio aways from chat link and you won't be able to record your audio. You can however use any wireless headset with you computer ofc.
I have a question. So I have the elgato hd60x but when I stream on tiktok with Live Studio, it gives an ashy/faint quality when ppl see it. How do I fix it so the color matches the quality from my TV. I'm using a PS5
