I bought 4k60 Pro Mk.2 even before I buy my new PC. lol
Me too lol😂
Same lol aha
Same 😐
Lol that’s what I’m going to do
😂😂😂😂
I never thought about overloading usb devices... did not expect to learn something like that here.. great job!
USB channels are limited =-(
This looks like that one guy that works for Corsair and goes to every twitch con event
thanks for this breakdown of product/platform and performance.
This was actually the best and most informative video i found on this. Great video.
Just got 4K60 S+. This thing is insane. A great new option in your already great lineup.
so how did you get this to work i hooked it up and nothing even showed on the tv screen or the obs

Even with that, it wasn’t getting any signal. Same with my older HD60. Elgato is the worse when it comes to getting it right. A Mirabox got the job done with no download necessary. Geezus.
Dont even have an elgato and this helped me SO MUCH! Thank you
I think another important factor is that the capture card should identify to the computer as a webcam device through the PCIe or USB bus, so the computer thinks you have connected a webcam to the computer. This makes the capture card more compatible with a vast majority of operating system (all systems that support connecting a webcam will be supported) and also makes the capture card compatible with all streaming and video editing software that are able to retrieve a webcam stream and use it. This also means you can stream your gaming session over Zoom or Teams if you want.
Still rocking the original Elgato Game Capture HD with the AV inputs, still works great for 720p 60fps streaming and recording older consoles like the PS3 and Wii
that thing was a beast back then, especially when people started to record PS2 footage in 1080p 30fps
Great video, so informative. Thanks
It's like they're spending more time doing anything other than refreshing their stock.
They can't refresh their stock if manufactorers can't make anything due to a lockdown.
Get some perspective please.

Thank you so much for this breakdown on all your capture cards. I was originally going to go for the HD60 S+ because I don’t know much about the PCIE alternative.
I have an extra slot on my rig so I’ll be going that route instead. Will be getting the 4K60 Pro MK.2. Again, thank you everyone over at Elgato 🙏😊
thank you very helpful, would love a video with a brutally literal step by step on how to get videogame stream and camera stream to show up on youtube at same time, you folks make great videos
Thanks, now I know what card I want to get. Wasn’t sure till I watched this.
This is why we love u guys. Supper helpful
When will the HD60s+ be available again and why isn’t sold on amazon?
You can buy it now I just bought 1
@@captainbirdseye11 Depends on where he is. For example, Amazon Canada does not have the HD60s+ available yet.
@@captainbirdseye11 saw one for 349 lol hell nah
@@captainbirdseye11 Ebay has them for the low price of $300-350 lol might as well buy the $399 4k60
I just happened to be on Best Buy app over 2 weeks ago and snagged a HD60s+ and I had been looking for a Camlink 4k but for $216.00 USD this will do
Thanks you solved my confusion.🤗
already bought the 4k60 pro mk2 and dont regret it furture proofing ....but this is excatly what i would have been looking for to buy back in march 👍
Amazing I love videos like this when I'm so so confused but with 1 video I found my answer and I didnt have to cross reference threw all these videos
It would be nice if you guys could make a video on how to set up each capture card and if you want to stream how to set it up (example: 4k60 pro with chatlink and streamlabs)
Thank you! And...what about having multiple cam angles? What kind of setup do you recommend?
You urgently need to improve the software and the problems that Elgato 4K60 S+ has, I bought the product and unfortunately regretted it, but I will wait for software improvements. Please Elgato, improve this!

I just ordered my 4K60 Pro MK.2 and can't wait to go nuts with it when it arrives, maybe I will start doing gaming reviews.
So when are you going to start

Thanks for the informational video regarding HD60 series.
If you publish a video for smartphone gaming that will be great because most people trying to stream from their phones.
I have the OG Elgato Game Capture HD, I still love it. I don't really feel like upgrading
Edit: I now have an HD60 S+, after since I got an Xbox Series X, I would need it, and one of the AV Cables on my old Elgato doesn't work anymore
which cables are needed to connect a wii to pc?
@@itsjonathan_x9691 you'll need the AV in cable for the Elgato Game Capture HD which has your component for the Wii, and you'll need the HDMI out
Excellent video bro ! Bro can you make a video how to connect elgato hds 60 plus laptop to laptop please
Make sure to have a look at aspect ratios in the NVIDEA control panel, along with downloading the Sound Capture software for dual PC (PC > PC) streaming!!
I just need one of these for the poke blink method haha so I guess I can go for the cheap option but it’s cool to know the differences in case I ever feel like streaming a high video quality game

Hi. Thanks for the info. I have a question. I sim race and am using a triple monitor set up 7680 x 1440. Would the HD60s+ be suitable for capturing this resolution/ game play? I'm happy for the stream to go out as 1080 but obviously still want to use the triples my end.
I have the 4k60 pro Mk1 and I hate not having HDR passthrough it's so annoying. That's all I really want, should I get the Mk2 for the added HDR passthrough or should I drop the extra money for a 4k60S+? I mostly record but do stream from time to time, I was thinking Mk2 seeing as it's cheaper and similar hardware to what i'm already used to, but was wondering if anyone had an opinion of the 4k60S+ betting better in any way.
I am really struggling with the choice of the next updates to my stream setup.
I am using right now a dual PC setup (gaming rig 9900K with 2070Super + streaming rig 9900K with a 980Ti) and be nearly happy with it.
My streaming rig will capture the gaming through the HD60 Pro.
Since I upgraded my screen and be able to game in 1440p with 165Hz and G-Sync I often have problems with tearing and offsync cause of doubling the signal to the HD60 Pro.
Now I want to upgrade but what will be really the best choice? I think the interal PCIe card 4K60 Pro?
HELPFUL ADVICE: Because none of this stuff is cheap and it can be quite expensive to become a content creator, do yourself a favor and read this before buying anything.
If you're considering Elgato and you're fine with a max of 1080p60fps - Buy the HD60S. It served me well for a long time.
If you're wanting to go 4K - Shell out the money for the 4K60S+. There's no point in going 4K unless you can maintain at least 60fps with HDR. 30fps at 4K with SDR looks choppy and doesn't do a lot of these games the justice they deserve. I just bought this device today and the results are phenomenal in Elden Ring on PS5.
If you're considering Avermedia and you're fine with a max of 1080p60fps - Buy the Live Gamer Mini. It's probably the least expensive capture device that will do this.
If you're wanting to go 4K - The answer is the Live Gamer Bolt, BUT BEWARE, you MUST have a thunderbolt 3 port on your PC in order to use this device! *Do not buy it* if you don't have this port or at least intentions of installing an add on port with one. I learned this the hard way and had to send it back because all I had was a USB-C 3.1 port. They are not the same.
I hope this comment helps someone who is hunting and researching for the right capture device for their setup. I spent way too much time and money trying to configure a 4K PS5 capture setup over the past few days and I wish I had known the above mentioned at the start of my shopping. Feel free to ask me questions as well if you aren't sure about the kind of device you need for your ideal setup. I'm happy to help.
Hi. What's the difference between the HD60S and the HD60S+ ?
@@unicornonthecob4302 S+ will do 1080p60. Regular S will only do 30 fps.
@@LPDarkSoulsHD Ok thanks! Is there a Pro model too? I don't see it on their site...
@@unicornonthecob4302 That I'm not sure of, but I will say this: Get the S+. For the small difference in price, your production quality will be more than twice as good.
@@LPDarkSoulsHD Thank you for that advice. I will definitely get the S+ if it comes down to either that one or the S. However, now I notice one called the Elgato HD60 X, it's only $20 more than the S+ and seems to be better? I've tried to understand the differences, but I'm not really getting it. Do you know if the HD60 X is better than the S+ ?
Thanks so much for your help!
So happy the 4K60 S+ exists. I have a PC I'm building, but I have it at a certain location, so I can't just take it to other places with the capture card. Luckily, I can just connect the capture card to my device and record from there without a PC having to be there. Just one question: Do these cards only work on new gen consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One, or can they work on older consoles like the Wii U or Xbox 360?
I'm using 2 laptops. To maximize quality gaming on one laptop, I want to capture and record to the second laptop. Which option would be best for me?
Hallo,
Macht weiter so!
Liebe Grüße aus Deutschland

I have the original Elgato HD still the good old days! but I have the HD60S+ now
I would like to convert 4K to 1080p input to the laptop while taxing the laptop the least. I assume that would be the HD60S+ as the conversion is done internally before outputting to the laptop? And would the conversion generally be better quality than done by the consumer camera such as the Sony A6400's 1080p output? Thanks.
Be even better if anywhere had the S+ in stock -_-
My biggest request is since the og gamecapture is discontinued is for s new method of capturing retro consoles or wii or ps3 all all consoles that cannot be captured through hdmi without a work around alot of retro systems can produce a very clean RGB signal but would require upscaling which would be the most amazing thing for consoles like snes n64 playstation or gamecube
Will there be a new card where I don’t have to install it in to a pc so I can game on the ps5 doing 120fps. Because the hd60s is capped at 60fps?
Can't wait for My elgato 4k60 s + That it finally arrives🥰😍
May I ask what you plan to do w/ it? console, camera what?

Good video
Hello i have a question for the Mk2, i want to stream my pc gameplay.
do i have to have a second pc to be able to stream my game
or can I stream my game without having a second computer?
Apologies for the late comment, but using the HD60 Pro, would it be possible to now use the Elgato Game Capture HD Software for recording - specifically using the on-board encoding chip (and thus save CPU) - while simultaneously streaming in OBS, thanks to the Multi App Support? I understand that previously you needed to close the Elgato Game Capture HD Software in order to use OBS, and that the only option to record and stream at the same time was through Master Copy in Elgato's own software. Asking this as I'm currently doubting between buying the 4K60 Pro Mk.2 and HD60 Pro, and interested in the latter's on-board encoder purely from a CPU standpoint.
I wish elgato would come up with a cap card that will allow you stream Old retro consoles like Nes, genesis, snes, Gcube and so on along with newer consoles. I just found out that my elgato hd 60 pro wont take any composite or component links even with adapters.
Yes I have I will be upgraded into one of your Elgato capture card once I get hundreds of scriber
Worth it if you want to record and stream older consoles, this new ones have recording and streaming included
About to build my first gaming/ streaming pc for around 600 so I'm planning to aim for the hd60 pro as a start off
By HD60 Pro do you mean HD60+?
anyone who has a laptop but is interested in the PCIE capture cards, you can get something called a thunderbolt as an extension and connect the PCIE capture card to it. Idk how well it works but ik it’s an option I’m looking into myself
Thanks for this video, very informative!
Though I must say, I'm disappointed that the 4K60S+ isn't compatible with Mac.

Why do videos when you can’t get them.
Ok if I want to both live stream and record, so which one should be best for me? And also money is not a problem so you can suggest me to choose from any one of those.
I really found this video helpful, but I want to get a capture card for my Mac book pro that won't, make the fan run faster, would I better going with the elgato HD60 + ??
why record with obs using the elgato and not just the elgato and the game capture software you download?
am i missing something
Capture cards are awesome how ever they do create input lag. When I brought mine I immediately noticed it and regardless of what Elgato or other people say I have tested it for myself and have found there is. It's noticeable and annoying also the sound lags and has weird stuttering.
can i use capture cards to stream from one laptop? without connecting pc Or ps4 Or other devices??
whennnnn will you guys have this in stock aaaagain????????
So is the Camlink still being produced or is it end of life?
Hi, I have a question: Which among the cards mentioned would give you the lowest FPS drop possible when recording while gaming? I run a single PC setup at the moment at 1440P 144hz however, recording and gaming at the same time(without capture card) causes 10-30fps drop. I just want to know what my possible options are to be able to record with the lowest FPS drop possible for my benchmark channel here on youtube. Thank you very much.
Did you figure it out? Planning on buying ELGATO 4K60 S+ OR ELGATO HD60 S+. Which one did you buy?
elgato is so good at describing their products
no distribution in ukraine i cant offer this from amazon and wait 3 weeks.
3 weeks only? LOL

I watched the video but want to be sure, I want a Internal PCle capture card the can record anywhere from 1080 to 4K and be able to record 60 to 120hz
Why am I still watching these videos I’m too poor
There is a 1080p USB device that works great for those who are too poor for Elgato. I just avoid Elgato because I'm allergic to cats... jk
I bought the El gato 60s the beginning of this year worker great and made the videos come out a lot better only problem Is when live streaming the sound is always delayed by like a good 3 or 4 seconds everytime I want to make sure the same shit won't happen as bad If I buy the new one, even recording and non live streaming a few video still come out with late sound input I record on a Mac lap top any reason why ?
So if i buy 4K60 which pc i plug it in, the one with OBS or the one im playing the game?
I just started using my Sony a77 Mark II as a webcam with the Sony software through USB. It worked fine but I really would like to up it if it's possible and I'm guessing it capture card would be the way to do that. I'm not sure if I have another slot open in my desktop to allow for another PCI slot. My camera's not full format so what would be the best capture card I could get for this to improve my webcam conferences? Thank you for this post it was most helpful. I swait your reply.
I have a 4k60 pro and love it for recording, but only if it's done after the fact. I can't figure out this 'passthrough' playing, and it says zero delay but there is DEFINITELY. A notable delay when trying to play from the application preview. Is there a way to play from the software without delay? I'd prefer not to need a 3rd monitor...
My question is should I get this expansion card first I don’t plan on playing a lot of games. But I do record videos and stream?
I bought now by your recommendation Elgato HD60 S and I would like use my Nikon D750 like webcam on Macbook 16 in 1080p. OBS link working fine, all is green, OBS working fine and I see capturing HDMI picture. But I cannot see my elgato like secondary camera in system for using it with MS Teams or Zoom. Is there some setup steps to do it?
Hello Steggy, (hope I spell your name correctly), I want to be able to use my Dell lap top for stuff where I'm recording away from my desk, and I wan't to be using my desk.
I recorded a board game video using my Dell Laptop and Logitech 922 cam, but I had to struggle w/ it a bit. The web cam kept auto focusing too much. I had to really edit the final part. I think it may have been my own lack of knowledge there, but instead of playing w/ that, I've decided to go up to something better that is more portable like a mirrorless DLSR cameral. That way I can take pictures when I'm out and about to use, rather than just in my house which the web cam restricts me to.
I've been working on computer games since then, but at some point I want to be able to use a camera instead of the web cam. I've been looking at different mirrorless DLSR cameras like the Cannon M50, because i was recommended, but I'm seeing videos where it doesn't have a clean HDMI video out. I was really hoping one of your products would do that, but you didn't mention it. Even if the camera didn't send it like that, I was hoping your product could.
My desktop is still running 2.0 for the USB and most of the Elgato products are 3.0. I'm wondering how hard this will be to sort out.
I am running win 10 with a Geforce GTX 980 video card. I know it has on board memory but I can't remember how much.
I also have an i7-3770 cpu. Not sure if that matters or not.
I already have your Stream Deck (15 button) and I love it. It has endless possibilities for programming. Anyone that doesn't have one should seriously consider getting one. I picked it up orginally to use w/ recording and obs. I just have to make sure obs is active and push a button w/o going to obs. As I understand it, there will be a lot of possibilities for streaming too.
I looked at CamLink but it has been sold out for over 2 months on Amazon. Wasn't even sure if this was what I needed or not.
I also, have an X-box, I might record from. Plus I'm looking at streaming at some point.
So I'm not sure I fully understand which I need.
If the internal has clean hdmi, then it's what I need but will alienate using my lap top. I don't have the money to get the wrong thing.
Whoever read this 🤡
Jesus....

How do I remove the echo on the microphone 🎙 I have the HD 60
What about capturing gameplay through Elgato onto the same PC? I know it will task the system more, but will it be too much? I never stream, just capture, and Game Mode tends to add audio static and other issues that I don't know about until after the recording is made. I also plan to capture other external sources for instructional videos, so a device that can capture itself for gaming and other times external devices (Mac computer, PS4, etc) is what I want. Or would I have to use my laptop to do all the recording and then transfer it to the desktop for editing? My gaming PC has USB 3.0 and an available PCIE slot, an i5 6600K overclocked to 4.3 with liquid cooling, and a 980ti. My laptop is not as strong but does have USB 3.0.
You can prob record and game from same rig but you will have to use low qualities

If you already own the HD60X for my laptop and I just purchased a PC should I upgrade to the elgato internal 4K card or should I be fine with the XD60 external card I just purchased?
I'm a little confused about something with the 4K60 S+. Is there a 200ms delay only when capturing/streaming to a PC or is this delay also present when standalone capturing directly to an SD card? I've never owned a capture card before so delay seems like a pretty big sticking point to me.
@Michael San Hey there, I bought this device a while back and am glad to report that I don't experience the 200ms delay when capturing directly to an SD Card. Hope that helps!
