- In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 2011 Volkswagen Touareg TDI Lux. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this suv while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this suv designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
Pearl Jam on the radio just moved this review from terrific to fking AWESOME!!! Another great video. Thanks for sharing!!
Own a 2013 TDI, solid solid car. Zero problem. Love it
CosumTion
I love my '12 Treg TDI Executive. My first VW (not counting a couple Porsche 928s) and first diesel. I just put a set of Sumitomo Ice Edge winter tires and it's an absolute beast in snow and slush. I was fortunate enough to buy it early 2020 when there was a glut of dieselgate cars available.
Omg, the sound of closing the door is just amazing even the window is open. It is really solid.
Yep, my dad has one of these and it always feels good opening and closing the doors. You feel very safe and it's super quite inside
"cuts 95% of diesel emissions"
no diesel

lol
My TDI arrives tomorrow!!
Why did volkswagen cheapen their cars!?!?!? Screw the american market and trying to fit in!
I may not like VW now as I did way back then, but their diesel engines are probably the quietest I ever heard and their technology is amazing
@braydenmartindale i know lol
My dad has one of these but in black
Holly crap talk about a loaded car with all the goodies . VW stepped up their game in a major way . Car probably had a 1000 page owners manual lol ...
@saabkyle04
Thats sad, The scirocco isa very good sportscar and I think it would sell very well in the states.
Beautiful car.I love it
Why does it signal red on the tail lights when there are white lines on the bottom of the tail lights? Don't tell me that all 4 white lines in the tail lights are reverese lights just like the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I thought the white lines on the bottom of the tail lights at the sides would signal amber.
Amazing video and beautiful SUV, thanks for sharing
@ratmtbola meh, I disagree. I find the new Jetta extremely bland looking, especially for a VW. And I think it's stupid when they don't even give you real leather.. instead "leatherette". The only VW that I'd consider buying is the CC. I'll admit that's a pretty sexy car. But then again VW also doesn't have the best reliability track record either..
If I'm not mistaken, side bolstering extensions are standard on all vehicles in the US, no? I've never seen a vehicle without them, so it's almost annoying how you announce it every time.
Wow, this is actually one of the only VW's i can see myself driving!
the transmission on the 2010-present Volkswagen Touareg

8-speed automatic
@nnicoolass612 yeah for a $50k+ SUV it better be pretty damn nice, but if we're talking cars like Jettas, I'd take a Toyota or Nissan any day of the week.
why americans hate volkswagen cars ?? you cant see a golf or a touareg or a passat in american streets
it is a way of cost cutting and being cheap
that way manufactures don't have to spend more on wiring and adding amber lights
-Hear that?
"Tac Tac Tac Tac"
-It's a Diesel
Hey Kyle, you have a review on the vw Tiguan
I think that the touareg has being ruined because the last model, is much more prettier than this one.
Too bad people didn't take to the Touareg. They'd rather have a Benz or a BMW.
My 2007 has been very good to me, looks like we are going to look into upgrading or adding that TDI to our family!!!
Great video, thank you.
@SwPiotrek ... and? Hitler had the idea of a cheap car, yeah. And it was actually a genius idea. The VW Beetle is by far the most built and sold car in the world. Many people in poorer countries, especially Brazil, still drive one.
Besides that, the original VW Beetle and Hitler have absolutely NOTHING to do with todays VW whatsoever.
@braydenmartindale Why do you think it's weird? Then it would also be weird that American cars are marketed as American cars, since most of them are built either in Canada or Mexico lol
And many Toyota's wouldn't actually be Japanese, because many of them are built in America.
@ExoticKid02 Same Company, the Chassis Platform for the VW Touareg, Porsche Cayenne, and Audi Q7 are the same..The Cayenne and Torareg are the same type platform(7L), the Q7(4L) is different because longer than both. Audi is the upscale version of VW.
@ratmtbola Still, if they want to market it as all German, then make the car all german. I would expect a piece of crap American car like a chevrolet or dodge to be made in say, Mexico but not a well known, prestige manufacturer like VW.
I have a Jetta, and have grown up with Volkswagens, and as a true VW lover, I am very disappointed in the new exterior design of the cars. With the exception of the CC, I think that the new headlights make the cars look a little cheap.
@92ASC Naah ... everyone drives a boring Toyota or Nissan. I'd take the Jetta just for the sake of driving something different. Besides that I think the Jetta looks much, much better than anything from Toyota, Nissan, Honda or Mazda ...
@Seattlecarnut I liked the older generation VW's a lot better, the 2006 Jetta TDI was one of the all time best if you ask me! I haven't liked any of the Touaregs but I like the old generation one better than this.
The review camera is standard on all models same with the navigation. Although I have a v6 lux model and it didnt come with parking sensors standard or as an option not sure how this one has it
you mean tiptronic gives the Illusion of driving a manual vehicle, sport mode simple adjusts shift points giving you more performance vs d mode which adjusts transmission shift points for economy.
Nice to see it doesn't constantly ding ding ding when the door is open!
the 2010-present Volkswagen Touareg is assembled in
Bratislava, Slovakia
kyle can you make a video ford tourneo minivan start up depth tour exhaust review. not v6. dresseel engine please? 😅😂😰
@mimito92 The North American market is huge when it comes to German vehicles.
kyle can you make a video ford tourneo minivan start up depth tour exhaust review. not v6. dresseel engine please? 😅😂
@ratmtbola I find it weird because cheap crappy American cars I would EXPECT to be manufactured anywhere else, but a VW they tell us is an all-German car :P
The front fog lights are in such a bad place. They should be higher on the bumper. They're so low that they may break if you take the car off-road.
i love that child lock feature, u can do prank so much people with it.
@DJxSKETCH Yes, the Volkswagen Auto Group (VAG) owns Volkswagen, Audi, Lamborghini, Bentley, Bugatti, SEAT, Skoda, Scania, and MAN.
I like this car seriously
@RiouInsuiko They aren't standard. Trucks and Vans and even some small cars come with bench seats which have no side bolstering.
@Annihilator1111 I know, I checked wikipedia! Kind of weird to be marketed as a german made car when it's made in Slovakia.
3.0 TDI Engine. Zero Problem.
I love the Touareg, it says I like German precision but don't feel the need to look like a douche bag with a BMW or Mercedes.
i dont about the new touaregs reliability but the previous touaregs are absolute rubbish. they are not reliable at all.
Touareg is such an awesome car the old one was incredible off-road, great on-road, luxurious, great looking, and even quite a cheap car to buy!
This new iteration just looks like an improvement on the old car in every way! The exterior looks very high-end and the front is just perfect. The rear - I think - could have done with a little more attention as it looks a little too much like an boring estate car from the rear but this is a Volkswagen after all, and it's nearly flawless. Wow!
I was waiting for the "And this is going to be a full, in-depth tour of the Touareg. We'll start it up, show the engine, get an exhaust clip, & show you a bunch of the features on the interior as well as exterior." :D
4.2 litter v8
@austinman1995
Of course, mechanical parts in Audi are the same as in VW (also in Seat, Skoda and other cars of VW Group)), but (at least in Europe) Audi has much better interiors than VW (I'm talking quality and fitting, not design ;)) and is considered more prestigeous.
@Tuareg: (fake) alluminium + (fake) wood = *puke*
@Annihilator1111
lol Kyle should pay you. You consistently provide this service for all of Kyle's videos
Can you plase do a 2011 Volkswagen Routan SEL Premium?
One thing I noticed right off the bat is that there is no constant beeping on this Touareg like all other VW's whenever a door is open.
wow such brown much leather
@saabkyle04 can you please review the 2014 Acura MDX tech. Pk?
@Stet17 lol thanks i also do it for other channel such as megaretr the Russian version of Kyle and Reich967 and loads others
I know about your time schedule but, A VW 2011 passat?
@Jakeman2164 Of course the Cayenne would, only a few Cayennes have them. Not a big deal tho?
@BallardAutoReviews Probably did it because of the wind interference. He cut that part off.
@strumem90 My guess is because gas prices. I doubt tht v10 engines are very fuel efficient.
Kyle I am guessing that the sticker is about 50 grand. Am I right? God I want one!!!
@nnicoolass612
neither do the prices, this car is over $52k, thats ludicrous for a vw!!!!!
the engine on the 2010-present Volkswagen Touareg

3.0L Supercharged V6
3.6L V6
3.0L Diesel V6
4.2L Diesel V8
This interiro looks like better quality comparing it with the golf or jetta you shown us
if he did that, yall would complain " why does it all sound the same?" lol hes gotta change it up once in a while doesnt bother me lol. as im sure you too lol
@jcnme27 that thing is awesome also the infinity sound system is awesome!
Glad it's got a full tank.
There is no variable timing on this engine...
Which 2011 trim has keyless intery?
why must car manufactuers use these new push button starts if they stop workin your car is fucked and ur out alot of money
Do a 2012 Audi Q5!
@TheWarmplate Ridiculous and sick is this what does what Erika Steinbach.
@nnicoolass612
Only when it's a $50k Volkswagen, forget the $15k Jetta.
That's a lot to pay for something without a leather stitched dash panel
@braydenmartindale every Touareg made was/is assembled in
Bratislava in Slovakia

What happened to "and this is gonna be a full in depth tour" stuff??
I like the interior, but I'm not really liking the exterior so much.
Lmao speedometer goes to 180 mph but also 6000 rpm
I would take this over a bmw suv any day!
is this really any better than a similarly equipped grand cherokee
@braydenmartindale Well, it's being designed, planned and engineered in Germany. Additionaly, many of the parts used to build the car are being built in Germany as well. And that's what important. And, to be honest, I don't think that it makes much of a difference whether a guy from Germany or Slovakia puts all those parts together.
i am in europe and i choose v8tdi 340hp 5.8sec 0.60mph or 100kmh and i can choose every option
@Seattlecarnut I absolutely love RWD cars, I really would like to get a Mustang. Saw a 2008 Convertible model with a V6 so good fuel efficiency, but I don't think it'd be a good idea to buy.. I live in a part of Canada where 3/4 of the year the weather is crap, half of that is very cold and very snowy. Couldn't imagine RWD in the snow, sounds horrifying!
the key is so ugly!
@MattLoaf92 Rolls Royce is owned by BMW.
god that screen is huge on the dash...not complaining but damn.
@MagnumPI4 I couldnt agree more. After visiting the VW dealership the other day I can honestly say I will not be purchasing anything other than a German car for the rest of my breathing days. I have this Touareg V6 Lux except Dark Flint Metallic, and Saddle Brown Leather. Hats off to you Germany for producing some INCREDIBLE machines!
when I first saw a touareg leaving from our Hall (I work in VW) and I saw back brake lights blinking I was like wtf? then a colleague told me that it goes to US. Even though I make Q7 I see Touaregs, Q7s, Cayennes everyday, thousands of them its funny, never sat in one yet :D
Love your channel Kyle, BUT, you might want to consider explaining the 'S' mode on auto trannys differently. It doesn't really try to give the illusion of driving a manual transmission, as you can shift manual transmissions at lower revs. S mode holds gears for longer before upshifting to have quicker acceleration (switches gear at higher revs).
The model being shown on the video is the Lux, a mid-tier model, and goes for about $51K -- not $60K. Not sure why one would want to spend almost $60K on a Q5 or X3, which are smaller cars and not diesel.
I love my new VW 2011 Touareg TDI and it is great SUV for driving back and forth from Nevada to California!! It's great for long driving up and down the mountains and great mileage, too. Lots of little amenities to keep you organize and happy. The TDI gets at least 28 to 29 miles per gallon on the highway for driving back and forth from Las Vegas to So Cal. Enjoy!!!
Boycott GrandPrixGTP02 for being a total ripoff of saabkyle04
where's the "...and this is gonna be a full, in depth tour...etc"???
Yeah, but this one is the size of a Q7 if im not mistaken.
This and the Phaeton is VW's top of the line cars. They are trying to tap into the luxury market, with these models.
This is the best on-road/off-road/price-performance SUV on the market, it's only limitations off-road are they approach or departure angle which are very good but some might argue they are not as good as a RR, bottom line is that this is a very underrated car.
