I start my bsn program in 3 weeks and I'm beyond terrified (in a good way.) I've been watching your videos for a few months now, and you keep me motivated and excited for the next 2 years. Your passion is infectious. You're going to be an incredible nurse!!!
Someone else already said this, but girl, I've got to reiterate it--your passion is contagious. I'm living for it. These videos are getting me through my summer term finals and I've got to thank you so much for that!
Sarah Diaz It makes total sense! I’m considering pediatric nursing, and I have absolutely no idea where to begin. I don’t know how or where to research information about it. Let me know if you find any good sources! Best of luck to you!
make sure you visit the college nursing department and speak with the nursing advisor, they will give you all the information you need. you might need to complete your prerequisites before going into a nursing program, but this might depend on the school.
In Australia you do a Bach of Nursing which takes 3 years and then a Graduate Certificate in e.g. Children and Young Peoples Nursing which goes for a year :)
I’m a 23 year old single mom of a 7 month old and I’m in school for my LPN. When I officially decided I was going to pursue nursing I searched for nursing videos to watch to keep myself motivated. When I found you, I was like “I can do this.” You make it seem easy (which I understand it’s not and you’re not trying to portray it that way) it’s just the way you flow and explain things that really makes me feel like I can do this. Thank you💕
those power points are how all of mine are, its so stressful cause you basically need to know the whole thing. I am going into my sophomore year of my 2 year program, so PRAYING that December 2020 I will be an RN then onto BSN after that! Prayers for all of you lovely people in nursing school, and thank you Holley for being great and giving tips!!
You are the best. Sometimes all we need to hear from someone is "I believe in you!" I'm gearing up for Med-surg II, Peds and Psych. It's like Christmas eve where your all excited but then you realize that you haven't enough gifts for everyone! All in all it's going to be a great semester and I look forward to following the rest of your journey!
Currently in the RN program 🙏🏾going into BSN after I finish with that but after reading some commengs like she said Quizlet is your best bet if you dont have a specific studying routine its like repetitive type of studying
girl I'm a pharmacy tech. But i always contemplate schooling but I have a baby and 8 year old and just not the right time i want to be sure on my choice. so i enjoy watching your channel.
I'm a little jealous of your 2 1/2 hour lecture! LOL! My peds lecture is 4 hours via Zoom plus another couple hours of recorded lecture! We are cramming Peds in 7 weeks! The remaining 9 weeks is Maternity/Newborn! I'm only in week 1 and I'm going nuts already! Thank you for the tips, etc!
Hi Holley! Thx for this video. Currently, I’m a CMA and I work in a pediatric clinic. I love peds and after my nursing degree, I would love to pursue either NICU or PICU. There are tons of stuff to learn about infants and even more after they start growing. I’m so excited about my future. Looking forward to more videos.
Starting my RN program on August 20 I am exicted and nervous at the same time! I love watching all your nursing videos. :) I love the tips and tricks that you give very motivating.
i'll be in peds next semester, but we only have a midterm and a final yikesss. lol our pediatrics are condensed into 7 weeks, then OB is 7 weeks. they are graded seperately too... practice questions are great! Thanks for the advice!
I just finished my peds clinical, and I can attest that this video is golden! I can’t agree with you more! I’m in an accelerated BSN program in Canada, so my theory was 9 classes in one month :/. Peds is awesome! Don’t be scared of the kids and babies, they’re wayyy better than the adults :P
I am from Australia in year 10. I really want to be a pediatric nurse! I love kids and love working with them! I want to work in the Royale Children's Hospital but I feel I won't make it bc u have to be really good! But I am trying my best and studying hard! Thanks for this vid it helped me out alot!
We aren’t allowed study guides and things were bolded or starred and I’m SO jelly ugh I literally just had to know the entire PowerPoint. I also HATE ati hahah I have 18 days left of Nursing school and at this point I’m like getting stuff done and not retaining anything. Best of luck to you girl! PS love that you’re eventually moving to Chicago! Welcome to the Windy City !! :)
I love you girl!!! I want to become a nurse!! Ill be going college on August 20 and your videos inspires me!!! KEEP MAKING MORE VIDEOS❤️❤️ I hope I get to meet you one day! Lol
Peds was the subject that I was least interested in surprisingly. Half of us got placed in the children’s hospital and the other half got placed in a preschool. I got placed in the preschool setting for clinicals rather than the hospital setting so our clinical days really consisted of playing with the kids, observing development, helping the teachers cut stuff for the children, and so on. I feel that if I wouldve gotten placed in the childrens hospital that I would have probably taken more interest in peds. I couldnt use any knowledge from lecture in the preschool! I also didnt get to experience that specialty of nursing so I’ll never know if I’d love to work in it or not. Im starting ob in 2 weeks!
I'm gonna be applying in December-March for nursing schools (I live in Fl) and watching these makes me feel more at peace about certain classes. I love being organized and studying hard and college has taught me so much about putting in work already and I feel so much better about going in! 💛 I wanna be a pediatric oncology nurse so this video was perfect for me to fall in love with your channel!
Hello I love your videos !! I'm currently at a community college and haven't decided on what major but nursing it definitely in my top three and your videos really inspires me to give it a try !!
Hey Holley, I just wanted to thank you for always sharing with us. When I feel doubtful I watch nursing videos and some youtubers make me feel even more nervous, but you make me feel like I can do it with confident and give great advice. Thank you. Keep it up girl, very proud of you.❤️
Omg u were lucky I just had peds I passed the class, but not at a grade that I liked. Our class was weird there was nothing really concrete to study, most of the information was not something directly in the textbook or PowerPoint, which I hated. But next I'll use Quizlet more.
Casandra Fiehtner I worked at a mental hospital for several years before it closed, it was the best job I ever had. Mental health is very near and dear to my heart. It's something that there's not enough of, especially in Iowa.
I just finished psych this past semester and i absolutely loved the material. I studied psychology in college before going into nursing so I knew I would like it, but I wasn't ready for the clinicals. it was pretty sad seeing a lot of the patients in the psych hospitals and i could see how draining it can be for a caretaker.
My peds class is combined with OB and is an accelerated winter course. 6 weeks worth of all disorders and everything else that comes with it. It's been awful and I'm desperate for tips lol. Thank you sm!!
Question for you? Do you print all of your notes as personal preference? I keep all of my notes on my computer because I cannot imagine how much it would cost to print all of that off! I was just curious! Good luck in fifth semester!
I wish my professor provided notes. She literally does the bare minimum and we just go through the textbook. No powerpoints, study guides, nothing. It’s frustrating because it’s hard to know what to focus on. I’m halfway through the class. Pray for me 😩😣.
How many years of studying do you need to become a Pediatric Nurse? Starting from college. Can you tell me the timeline of becoming a Pediatric Nurse? Thanks!
Wow. Thank you so much for this. I'm the type of person that likes to prepare for things months in advance so guess who's going into peds without looking like a deer in headlights... (this girl!!!)
Did your Peds professor somewhat lecture based on the quizzes/exams he or she gives you guys :( Most programs like mine will not let you know what questions you get wrong, so it is very hard to improve besides reading EVERYthing (in the case of professors who do more active learning than lecturing)
They would lecture on everything and anything we needed to know in regards to boards! That is very unfortunate that you can't see what you missed :( That helps the learning process!
Hey holly ! I want to ask u that i recently completed my 12 and now studying early childhood education can i do padeatric nursing after this 2 year diploma .... I need ur suggestion regaring this cause i love to be in the same passion in which you are doing
Laurie Lambert hi girl! in the US you have different routes to become an RN, the associates degree is a 2 year nursing program where you can receive your license to be a registered nurse, there's also the 4 year program which grants you the bachelor's degree and also able to obtain your registered nurse license.
Maddy Apply to a college as a nursing major, you’ll get your associates degree first which is 2 years and you’ll finish as a RN (registered nurse) which is mandatory for pediatric. Then continue your degree to gain your BSN (bachelors science in nursing) you can do that online but you’ll also have some hands on stuff. From there you’ll be able to take nclex and another exam to start applying to hospital jobs. I’m currently in my first semester as a nursing major it’s just basic classes that I took in high school then next semester is clinicals. Good luck!
Maddy Becoming a pediatric nurse is a way easier process than most hospital jobs so don’t over think which college you apply to as long as you work hard when you get there.
Im from engineering..pursuing medical healthcare as my dream..since i love kids and science..i've been thinking of pursuing Nursing in my state uni next semester..and be a pedia or NICU nurse someday...though I want to become a doctor so bad..i need to be realistic. We cant afford to go in med school. Btw,thank youu so much! Im still baffled on what pre-med should i take
You may not see this but if anyone else does that can help me then please feel free to. I'm 12, 13 soon and not so far away I pick the options that I am going to take for my gcses. I want to be a pediatric nurse because I enjoy helping people and my cousins work with NHS and police and all that and it touches my heart❤ if anyone could help me on what options I need to choose please go ahead x
Emily Turner I know that to be a nurse you need to take maths, science and English and for the other options I would recommend geography and history I also want to become a nurse and I don’t even have to pick my options yet but from what I’ve heard I think this is what to do. Hope this helps.
I start my bsn program in 3 weeks and I'm beyond terrified (in a good way.) I've been watching your videos for a few months now, and you keep me motivated and excited for the next 2 years. Your passion is infectious. You're going to be an incredible nurse!!!
Maureen ahhhh congrats!!! Me too! I can't wait
I do too! Good luck!😊
How are you doing now?!
Someone else already said this, but girl, I've got to reiterate it--your passion is contagious. I'm living for it. These videos are getting me through my summer term finals and I've got to thank you so much for that!
Thanks, Nicole! I appreciate that very much!
I’m graduating high school this year and want to be a pediatric nurse, except I’m confused on how to get there in college... does that make sense haha
Sarah Diaz It makes total sense! I’m considering pediatric nursing, and I have absolutely no idea where to begin. I don’t know how or where to research information about it. Let me know if you find any good sources! Best of luck to you!

I love you!!! Please please do a video on your pre requisites and how you passed them with A’s!?!
I’m interested in pediatrics, this helps a lot !!!
Thank you for sharing! Would you consider doing a video on what a nursing assessment with a patient is like?
I should say not with an actual patient

Zaful, video with it in there is coming soon! :)

what school did you go to? i want to go into pediatric nursing and don't know what school to go to.

what courses are recommended from grade 11
Talk to a guidance counsellor, depending on the country you’re in I suggest searching up the uni or college and seeing their requirements!
Hello everyone! I will start nursing school in this fall of 2024 any advice?
It’ll be different, tough, but you can do it…your school chose you cause they bet there money on you just believe in yourself and go hard.
Good job girl, so u didn't use the pediatric success book like how you used the fundamentals, or you think it wasn't necessary.
When you go to clinical do you have to remove your nose piercing?
Camryn Smith yes
Yes, I do!
Holley Rojek can’t you just switch it to a really small clear nose stud?
I love peds ❤️❤️
Keep at it girl, love peds. 🤓👍
Imagine complaining about a 2 hour lecture a week
Thanks satan2787
LOOVVEEDDDD this video!! 😍👏🏻👏🏻
