    Hey there. One of the main reasons people become sick, weak and immobile as they get older is because their muscle breaks down at a rate of 3-8% every decade. In this video I've put together a fairly comprehensive list of methods that you can use to preserve your muscle. Remember, muscle in the organ of longevity, the more you have, the better your quality of life will be. All the best. Ryan & Hannah. 💚

    I've been eating a high protien breakfast for 10 years. Good to know it's a winning approach. I avoid carbs and have eliminated added sugar. I recently achieved a goal of 10 wide grip pullups. Kids at the gym are stunned and give me strange looks sometimes. I'm cut like Bruce Lee. I may be an anomaly but it is possible to be as fit as these exercise starved youngsters. Eat right. don't set limits on your goals, be consistent, and WARM UP FIRST.

    8 ways to preserve your muscles, (1) do such and such. Don't want your explanation of why

  • @jordana2587
    @jordana2587 Месяц назад

    I find squats difficult because I have arthritic knees.

    • @philipsamways562
      @philipsamways562 Месяц назад +1

      Hi. I have arthritic knees too and do squats to keep my knees strong which is important. Here are some important points when you're doing squats.
      1) stick your bum out so your knees never go beyond your toes hold a litre bottle of water in front to help balance, if you need to
      2) there is no need to get tour thighs horizontal. Go down as far as possible until you start to feel.some discomfort. Then relax for 10 seconds and do it again. Start with a small number and try to.incrrase it slowly.
      3) don't even consider a knee replacement unless you can't walk 400 yards without pain
      Most important talk to a good physiotherapist, as they can assess your capabilities. There are no ' magic" foods . Keep tour weight down to reduce pressure on tour knees. Use a static exercise bike in the gym, rather than walking. The exercise bike is great exercise and will take your weight off your knees. I'm 80, have had arthritic knees for 15 years, which swell badly if I'm on them a lot, but I still teach ballroom dancing. Pamper your knees a little and they will.pay you back
      And I wish you the very best of luck
