I am 74 and yes a morning ritual is key to your well being. I get up at 6:00 feed my cats first because they insist lol. Then get my coffee and read my Bible. Prayers of thankfulness and ask for strength and love for the day. I talk to the birds and stretch then go for a swim. In the winter I walk. My diet consist of fresh organically grown non processed foods. A smoothie in the morning and simple small meals until dinner. One should focus on positive energy and work with nature when ever possible. I do take supplements with over time I have adjusted to help me at certain times in my life. I am very blessed.❤
I know when I get up and read a rousing tale of how the god of the Bible drowns babies, has bears attack 42 young people and tear them to shreds, kills 185,000 soldiers in one night, kills 70,000 Israelites because David performed a census, has his worshippers slaughter the Canaanites including babies and animals, kills 2 Christians for holding back a little money from the sale of land, and promises to come with a flaming fire to wipe out millions in the future, and so many more happy, merciful acts, I'm so much happier and positive to jump right into my day and live to a ripe old age😊
My mother lived to 95, she ate tons of sugar in the form of ice cream, pastry, candy, and all kinds of sweet junk food, she only ate frozen veggies, a little fruit, plenty of canned food, and never drank water! Not much exercise. She could drive until 91. She did everything that we are not supposed to do. She ate whatever she felt like eating without caring if it was healthy or not. Hot fudge Sunday for breakfast was her favourite! Go figure.
Yep! My father in law 90, smokes/drinks eats whatever he wants, all vitals are good. My husband 60, never smoked light drinker, but sugar addict, vitals are normal🤦🏽♀️
My Mother in law. Eat the same menu. You mentioned. She is still 93 healthy but going through dementia. Sad. Not sure if it’s her diet. She loves red wine with dinner. Every night 💁
I believe longevity is a secret. There is no template. There are many factors in play. One can follow her every step and not get to the 70s. It's nature as she says. I believe activity, attitude and healthy food and air and environment play a big role in how long we may live.
Wow, I am 72 years old and went to work at the Golden Door Health Spa in Escondido (owned then by Deborah) when I was in high school. I had no idea she was still living. Must be those rules! Great to see her again.
Being grateful every day is very important 💕I’m 71.. only 1 meditation.. for thyroid issues since I was 35… I eat clean.. no sugar.. some carbs… lost 35 lbs just eating this way..the energy I get is from God.. being thankful 🙏
I agree.. I’m 75 and I attribute my good health to being grateful and loving God… I eat animal products as of May 2024.. I was a vegetarian for over 35 years..
I am 62, I was vegan after a heart attack/stent 11 years ago, I took the statin drugs and blood pressure meds for ten years. I had muscle pain and loss and my hair was thinning and turning to fuzz. I got some chickens and started eating 4-6 eggs a day with my garden vegetables (mostly kale and onions!) and I try to sweeten stuff with stevia and xylitol (buy from wallmart) I also take D/K2 B complex and Garlic supplements I look younger than other people my age, I quite often hear I look like I’m in my 40’s. I really think that Dr. Berg on utube is a good channel to follow.
I am 74 years old and I have a morning routine of doing different stretching exercises on my bed, moving every muscle in my body before getting up. Through my life I always enjoyed exercising, swimming, walking and for years I have been doing Callanetics and Pilates, what I still practice 2-3 a week. Love to eat fruits and salads since childhood and fish, but never been a meat eater, especially red meat. I only take some vitamin supplements but not any prescription medicine. I love the sunshine and nature and luckily I leave close to a lake connected to the Pacific ocean and I walk everyday for more than an hour around it. Enjoy art and music and very grateful for the beautiful and clean environment I live in the Gold Coast. 🌏
Always God first ( ; I am 74. Morning routine: listening to Our Father, Thanksgiving, petitions, a Psalm. I volunteer, play the harp, Street perform, and keep in touch with friends/neighbors. When life becomes a big challenge I rely on Jesus and my guardian angels. I try to smile, be thankful for what I have, and pray for everybody else. I would rather write a movie than watch one, and write a song in lieu of listening to the radio. My life has been miraculous, filled with challenges, but always abundant in Hope God bless you, and He loves you so very much.( ;

I am 72. I drink 1 lemon with water every morning. Looking out the windows to see what nature has in store for me that day. As I look around I find what ever needs to be done. 6 am is the time I awake. I play tennis at least 4 times a week weather permitting. I am on 2 tennis leagues. My level is 4.0. I am vegan plant base diet. I am a writer the most recent book published is “Celebrating our Creators truth of love, life and light. In my garden I have herbs and figs and apple trees. 1st thought is of my Creator. I offer my day to Almighty God and ask for knowledge of HIS will for me and the power to carry it out! Without Him I am nothing, but with Him I can do all things. I have Grape Nuts with almond milk and blueberries or other fresh fruit and chopped walnuts sprinkled with cinnamon. I do not actually eat until around noon. I have done intermittent fasting for about 6 years.

At 83 I have been a practicing Naturopath for almost 50 years. I was director of the Yosemite Health Retreat, a Natural Hygiene fasting institution. A healthy body and mind is the result of following all of health's requisites: plant based diet, good sleep, exercise, fulfilling hobbies, work, good friends. My diet has mostly been Mediterranean, fruits, vegetables and light on the animal proteins.
I GET it about being positive in the morning. I LOVE watching the sunrise (not done often though), and I also love listening to the various birds chirping. On a rainy day, fortunately, the birds are still active. I really NEED to eliminate my negative feelings, which usually occur LATER in the morning, esp. if I'm impatient about my upcoming schedule. I will at LEAST remember this advice.
I am 80. All my life i have eaten mostly meat having been raised on a ranch. Not much vegetables. People say I look about 50. My own doctor the first time she met me said she couldn't believe my age. Never sick as child. My checkup were always good. Still have my own teeth and my dentist says they are strong. In fact i still have my tonsils. Walk all over and still jog. Also at my age I don't let the small stuff occupy space in my brain. Especially since I absolutely love playing poker.

It also has to do with your emotions on how you live life. Do you dwell on negative emotions or do you just feel them and then let them go. Its a major contributor. True happiness can take us a long way
How surprising , I never knew about Rancho La Puerta but I raised my children and my young self by following her husband , Edmond Bordeaux Szekely's translation of the Essene Gospels !!! So grateful for those books , thank you for this interview .❤
incredible she is as 50 or 60. Congratulations. great ideas for healthy living. (we stay in our body until our life path is completed then return home but may as well enjoy health and happiness while here.)
A wealthy person with no sense of anxiety can of course live a long and engaged life. If only that could be true for the majority of people, and the significant minority of people struggling to make basic needs met.
A wealthy person has plenty of anxieties. Money does not solve all problems! Believe me, I know! The happiest times for me, were when we were poor, after WW2. Maybe because we had plenty of company, all our neighbors were poor. We bartered a lot. Americans will not believe this, but my poor mother made some extra money, by changing the worn collars on Men's shirts. She turned them, so that the worn part was hidden. her treasure was a pair of silk stockings. To sweeten our food, she made syrup from sugar beets. One night a poor mouse fell into the jar and yes it drowned in the sweet gooiness. What did my mother do? She removed the mouse and boiled the syrup for a while, but did not tell the family . We consumed it unaware of its secret. These mothers ofWWw2 were something else!
A rare one. Because the majority of smokers die on average 10 years before non smokers. In our family, all that smoked didn’t get to age 70. Those that didn’t… lived well into their 90’s.
I live on a very busy street, in a studio- construction in the backyard. Dust, dirt, loud traffic, homeless. It made such a difference when I started giving Thanks for all I did have. I choose healthy food. I get up and go into the backyard, next to the chain link fence and greet the sun, the blue sky, the trees in the distance- stretch. I’m great full for my only son, my friends and God. 💞

I'm 85 and have non of those 'morbidities' they talk about. I sleep until Noon, eat a lovely big lunch out somewhere and we have a light supper about 8PM. My husband (90) goes to bed about Midnight and I stay up until 2 or 3. It all works for us! The food we eat is always lean meats, vegetables, fruit. Nothing fried except eggs. Ice cream every night for dessert. No snacks. No more than one weak alcoholic drink - if that per day. My husband drinks tons of coffee and I like Club Soda.
Now I feel less guilty, because my schedules is like yours. I am a night owl .I make it a point to eat eggs every day, because they are the most perfect food. I love coffee, but am unable to find one that I love here in America , I miss the Swiss and German beans, These countries know how to roast the beans perfectly, they have a fantastique flavor. I am now 84.5 years old I love salads, especially romaine and Feldsalat I never, ever buy Salad dressings. I use oil and vinegar and white wine vinegar, grated fresh garlic, i clove, salt and pepper and a pinch of sugar. or 1 tsp. of honey. No prescription, except monthly infusions for my Rheumatoid Arthritis. I will be 85 yrs, old. We bought a house and made sure it had flights of stairs for excersise.

My grandmother is 123, and very alive. She eats primarily meat. She doesn't like fruits and veggies. She doesn't consume seed or vegetable oils, no processed foods, no sodas, basically no sweets and very low carbs.
How about Schnaps? My father in Law(Swiss), had a Stumpen (cigar) and Apfelschnaps ( apple schnaps)every night . He kept on living, until all his friends were gone, they saw each other every day in a Weinstube, one by one died. He became depressed and stopped eating and drinking. He died at 101.
123 years old? Sounds like your grandmother has forgotten her date of birth! The oldest person in the world today is 116 living in Japan! And how can someone be 'very alive', either they are alive or dead.
Following a good lifestyle is good but not enough. If we know what is our mission in life and the road in front of us straight, a feeling of happiness will fill our heart who should give only love and take care of others , then spiritually we will be filled of knowledge giving it unconditionally with love, no need then to think about the age as it’s for the almighty God to decide. ❤ 🙏

Wow... she was born the day before my mom, who was also born in Brooklyn NY. Mom passed at the age of 99, just 5 months short of reaching 100. ❤. Maybe there was something in the air that week in Brooklyn! LOL Mom was very active, determined and stubborn and ate lots of fruits and vegetables, legumes and nuts, yogurt, whole grains, fish and very little meat. She was still driving in her early nineties... her beloved cadillac! She had a pacemaker, congestive heart failure and a-fib and she even broke her hip in her early nineties, but she developed dementia which was the start of her decline.
I have seasonal depression that SAD, it didnt get diagnosed until i was 30 and i never figured out why i had mood swings until i realized it was every winter i suffer addictions not during summer its winter because im more prone to fall into a trap so i ended up moving somewhere with better climate, it still gets winter but not that severe 9 months, it gets 3 months of bad weather but thats it. If it wasnt for that i would of still chosen to be on heavy drugs, its horrible when life gives you lemons you feel like you have no freedom with the choices you choose. I can live a much active lifestyle here, all it takes is focus and routine, i fall into a slump every now and then but now its not so severe and im used to being on less medications. I got sick of the side effects as well... if you need them sure take them if you been feeling bad for a while but my lifestyle allows me to make better choices. I also dont work alot so thats probabily the reason why everyone struggles with health and costs of living etc. When your born with certain health conditions just making it past 35 or 40 is difficult but acheivable with the right care and lifestyle, not everyone that drinks, smokes, whatever makes it past a later age genetics can play a role too so theres different factors of lifestyles to carry.
For men some degree of physicality maintenance goes alongside with the brain health for the central nervous system. Some form of focus is needed to power your inner being. Yes be calm, and god and community can be the focus.
10:40 is the diet. Breakfast is coffee, bread and sometimes an egg. She’s a pescatarian. Lunch is mixed veg salad and cottage cheese. Dinner is chilled replenished with cheese, shrimp, seafood. They call it vegetarian but looks like seafood is vegetables. Sorry vegans.
She said she only occasionally eats bread and egg for breakfast. Usually, it’s oats and fruit almost every day. Only eats a little fish in evening, but she only talked about vegetarian dishes. Only the narrator mentioned the fish for dinner. She’s mainly vegetarian.
I'm 55 and dropped desserts I was eating every day more than a year ago. I only have a dessert on special occasions or once every few months. I eat non processed and organic foods, grass-fed beef 85% fat, chicken, pork, and salmon. Eat eggs most mornings, with half a bagel with cream cheese (or sometimes avocado spread), sometimes bacon with it, or low-sugar bran cereal, blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries in the summer months, along with pecans or sliced almonds. Also eat plain organic Greek yogurt with those berries. I feel most healthy with lots of protein, especially beef. It boosts my energy, helps clear my brain fog, and balances my system. I have had borderline hypoglycemia since I was diagnosed at 22 years old, so going back to a high protein diet like the one I was on for three years at 22-25 helps. I eat some carb like a bit of rice, a potato/mashed potatoes, and sometimes an English muffin, and have sandwich for lunch. Not big on snacking during the day. Haven't been since adulthood and even in my childhood. Unfortunately, I don't care for most veggies, but I do make myself eat them. Luckily, I like sour kraut and broccoli and salads. lol
Been eating lots of salmon greens 2 apples a day sipping green tea and coffe w/o sugar and lately extra vigin olive oil two table sppons i m 42 this dec andwould always rather now to go about this way i walk twice ariund the block.... i m enjoying my time😊😊😊😊
I start my day with what clothes I will wear that makes me happy to do the next things. Then I eat vegetables 🥕 and 🍎 to nurture the fresh and wellness for my brain.
I'm 84. My diet has benefitted me cosmetucally. Its been driven by a craving that I've always had...its stranges, I know...a craving for ORANGES. I guess that may be called 'mega dosing vitamin C'? A whole orange, seeds and all, just dropped in the blender with plain nonfat yogurt. Or, just sliced, if I don't have time to peel it. One to 4 oranges every day. It just goes along with whatever else I am eating.. On the surface, people always think I am 20, even 30 years younger. Yes, I confess to having some physical issues now, but to look at me, you would not perceive me as 84. I also eat almost no sugar or carbs, meat, fish or eggs. Its mostly 'beans and greens' all the way...and oranges. 😀
Breakfast can be oatmeal and fruit, a smoothie, hash browns and carmelized onions and peppers, toast and tea. It could be beans and mushrooms and tomatoes and toast. It could be whatever you like. Mine is sourdough toast and peanut butter and sugar free fruit spread and black tea, like Yorkshire Gold or Barry's Gold. On Sundays I have a special baked good, loose leaf tea, and fruit.

I am 62, I was vegan after a heart attack/stent 11 years ago, I took the statin drugs and blood pressure meds for ten years.
I had muscle pain and loss and my hair was thinning and turning to fuzz.
I got some chickens and started eating 4-6 eggs a day with my garden vegetables (mostly kale and onions!) and I try to sweeten stuff with stevia and xylitol (buy from wallmart) I also take D/K2 B complex and Garlic supplements
I look younger than other people my age, I quite often hear I look like I’m in my 40’s.
Always God first ( ; I am 74.
Morning routine: listening to Our Father, Thanksgiving, petitions, a Psalm.
I volunteer, play the harp, Street perform, and keep in touch with friends/neighbors.
When life becomes a big challenge I rely on Jesus and my guardian angels. I try to smile, be thankful for what I have, and pray for everybody else.
I would rather write a movie than watch one, and write a song in lieu of listening to the radio.
My life has been miraculous, filled with challenges, but always abundant in Hope
God bless you, and He loves you so very much.( ;

As I look around I find what ever needs to be done. 6 am is the time I awake. I play tennis at least 4 times a week weather permitting. I am on 2 tennis leagues. My level is 4.0. Glad to meet you As nature has been good to you blessings in abundance. 😊

What is the rest of your diet like? Do you take psyllium husk?
I hope one day I can eat grape nuts again. God is healing me everyday.

it's great to be hearing the opinions of someone with more than twice my life experience.

A wealthy person with no sense of anxiety can of course live a long and engaged life. If only that could be true for the majority of people, and the significant minority of people struggling to make basic needs met.
Do you know what wealth is?
The majority struggle.
I was poor but worked and saved. You own you life success and your mind.
Reaching 102 years old while still being healthy and alert is a testament to her life principles
My grandmother passed at 93 and smoked cuban cigars and drank a shot of whiskey every day, ate whatever she wanted.
A rare one. Because the majority of smokers die on average 10 years before non smokers. In our family, all that smoked didn’t get to age 70. Those that didn’t… lived well into their 90’s.
It’s all genetic..

Money helps. Zip code and socioeconomic status and access to health care helps. Being rich helps you live longer
Lol not really considering the blue zones are not rich areas at all except Loma Linda nice try excuse maker
Now tell me what you were doing at 18? Buying a ranch? Just stop. 🛑. It’s been proven zip code has a direct affect on lifespan. So does access to healthcare and socioeconomic status. If you live to 102 as a poor person it’s the exception, not the rule.
I am officially inspired! Thank you Deborah!

Wow... she was born the day before my mom, who was also born in Brooklyn NY. Mom passed at the age of 99, just 5 months short of reaching 100. ❤. Maybe there was something in the air that week in Brooklyn! LOL
Mom was very active, determined and stubborn and ate lots of fruits and vegetables, legumes and nuts, yogurt, whole grains, fish and very little meat. She was still driving in her early nineties... her beloved cadillac! She had a pacemaker, congestive heart failure and a-fib and she even broke her hip in her early nineties, but she developed dementia which was the start of her decline.
Thanks for the valuable information you've provided
Thank you ❤
I have seasonal depression that SAD, it didnt get diagnosed until i was 30 and i never figured out why i had mood swings until i realized it was every winter i suffer addictions not during summer its winter because im more prone to fall into a trap so i ended up moving somewhere with better climate, it still gets winter but not that severe 9 months, it gets 3 months of bad weather but thats it.
Prayers always

Luckily, I like sour kraut and broccoli and salads. lol

Wow thank you for the advice, wanna switch to vegan but still trying to figure out what to eat for breakfast
Breakfast can be oatmeal and fruit, a smoothie, hash browns and carmelized onions and peppers, toast and tea. It could be beans and mushrooms and tomatoes and toast. It could be whatever you like.
