I used to play this song back in the 2000s with my band. We were a power metal trio comprising of myself, my brother and my dad. My dad was in his late 40s at the time and I had to teach him Cliff's bass intro...and he learned it and nailed it and used to give it the full treatment every time we played it at gigs. I was so proud of him doing it. Last week my dad died. I'll always think of him when I play this song with a smile. Rock in peace to the best father a son could wish for.☺ \m/
It always does! I love that they try something new every tour, last year was flames, in 2019 everything went pitch black (this was my favourite, gave me chills).
@@robertlodder4744 to be completely honest with you, I have no idea. You can scroll through their Metallica Monday playlist with shows they livestreamed during the height of the covid pandemic.
I was there in the AT&T Stadium to see Metallica perform, it was my first time experiencing a concert and it had to be my favorite band of all time, THANK YOU METALLICA!!!! ❤🔥🤘🎸
A cover band played this song at my cities annual anniversary celebration and they actually rung the main bell of the church for it, which is something I personally miss from the actual live performances of this song. Having the bell ring just gives it a lot more flare
This was my first Metallica concert! I saw it in the theater w my dad who doesn't love metal music too much, but we both got so hyped when they started playing this song!!!
Metallica absolutely slayed it both nights! For Whom the Bell Tolls was a favorite Sunday night and was so glad to share it with my 15 year old son who heard it for the first time! He's a fan for life now!
Gosh I hope we get a Blu-Ray of both Arlington shows soon. I missed it and these videos are amazing. Everyone looks like they're having fun and James looks so healthy these days, I love it.
I was THERE for both nights. Took my wife to see her first Metallica concert, and she LOVED it. Can't wait to see you guys again. Been with you since the Black Album, going to be listening to you until I'm at least 80!!!
respect to metallica their old and mainly all their songs are hardcore and fast paste but even though their old they still rock them songs like they still young
Saw them for the very first time in Hamburg this Tour. It was such a special night. Their energy is just special. You can feel how happy they are doing what there are born to do. The connection with their audience is just something else. One of the best (live) bands of all time. In their fkking 60s!!!! they sell out pretty much every fucking stadion all over the damn world. And rightfully so. Already ordered tickets for munich next year and started to count the days haha
@@ginge5018 His beats and fills on the original version were even better though, and Lars had only been playing it for probably a year or less at that time.
Yo ya estoy emocionada de verlos, es mi primera ves, aunque estaré en la zona naranja hasta las gradas, pero verlos es como ver a un Diós, ya quiero que llegue 2024 para verlos en el Foro Sol🤘🤘🤘
Still getting goose bumps from this weekend. We were there in the snake pit, that $5k was 1000000% worth it to go and we go to a ton of concerts and get VIP….nothing beats Metallica and I’m not the biggest Metallica fan either but they are fucking incredible live. 2.5 hours twice in one weekend with different sets…start saving your money now
This song remembers me when I was 13... 14 years old and me and my dude were watching Cunning Stunts on a VHS tape (there was no RUclips for sure at that time) for the 10th time in a week 😅 Such a good time of my life!
I was there for both nights in the lower ring of seats, and it was one of the best concerts I have ever attended! I was going to upload my own videos of it, but I wanted to see the official videos instead haha

Cliff still rules. But Rob is really good. Yes I believe Cliff is and has always smiled on Metallica 🤘
The effect on Rob's bass is so unique in the intro👌🏾🔥
I can finally say that I was there for the first time in my life. Amazing concert

This may be the song I’ve heard the most in my life and it never gets old. When Kirk hits that riff it’s just magic.
His delivery of the line "its the last time you will" is so powerful on this version
“It’s an a$$ grabbing whale”
