Excellent demo. Your playing demonstrates the fx presets so well. Made me dig out my RP 500 from the unused gear cupboard. I intend to use it more for practice instead of booting up the computer every time I want to try something out as I don't have an amp right now. Cheers!!
I've been getting the best sounds out of mine lately by bypassing the cabinet modeling and running straight into the effects return of my Roland GA-112 amp (thereby bypassing the preamp stage of the amp and using just the very clean and efficient speaker to do the heavy lifting for my rp1000 amp models). The amp modeling still holds up for me after all these years. I haven't seen anything new on the market that has the same versatility in the interface either.
these are a great value the tube based rp7 from 99 used 24 bit effects and real tube amp kids today act like older units must suck some of the best effect pedals ofcourse are old but theres stuff like the ada mp1 still great today
Can you assign the numbered footswitches to presets? So that I can have a sound I like and go to a different sound during a song without having to flick through multiple presets.
You can set it up a couple of ways, you can set up a Marshall amp like a jcm800 with whatever you want in stomp boxes on one channel, hit the scroll up button once and go straight into a Fender Twin clean, if you want, set up anyway you want and then back again, go the other way scroll down one into Mesa Boogie if you want, gain is easily programmable as is volume on each channel, or you can set up patches with everything preset to your liking. It is a very versatile unit, I use into an amp as well as into a mixing desk, it can also usb into a computer for recording. Have gigged solo, duo, band, small and big stage, as well as recorded with it. The presets may not be to your liking but there are 100 presets and 100 user channels for you to select from multiple Fender, Marshall, Mesa, Orange, Vox, Soldano, Peavey, and more. You adjust gain, tone, volume, then you have comps, distortions, parametric 2 band with bass, modulations, delays, reverbs, wah, cab sims.....and more than that. When you are used to the machine it can give you so many options and it's quiet. No I'm not a salesman for them, as a fellow muso just thought I'd let you know my take on them, RP500 is very useful musically.
@@JP-se3ti I have had a few from the RP series. Any tips on recording into a DAW? I have never done that yet. Played with it last night. Cool but to my ear needs more presence and was a little fizzy on the edges. But that said, I am not a recording or guitar tone experienced recorder.
well yes, but delay, reverb, compressor, and distortion, wah and volume pedal are already part of this unit..just step on it to select your effect/ effects
i have an RP 300 and i love it..Digitech rules

Amazing
I'm still using digitech RP12 until today 😅
Nice!
I still have this and I won't
sell it too.
You know how great Degitech is.I will never release my RP1000.Of course, my Peavey transtube amplifier is also active.
they are all great.. we have rp100a, rp300, and rp500 and we are never dissapointed
I run my rp500 through the same setup
Xcellent Demo...does the rp 500 have Drum sounds?
it has lots of very good sounding drum tracks built in, and it is very easy to use the looper along with the drum tracks.
No drums on RP 500. Has a cool 20 sec looper though, available through a firmware update.
Does it have a break in sound when switching patches?
Can you assign the numbered footswitches to presets? So that I can have a sound I like and go to a different sound during a song without having to flick through multiple presets.
yes and there are tutorials on how to do that all over youtube

many of todays effects are 24 bit still so these sound just as good better sometimes
Is this directly into PA or soundcard?
The amp used as seen in the vid is a Peavey Classic Chorous. the recording is done solely by an iphone7
@@DebParedesthe legendary Peavey Classic Chorus
9:33 Van Halen 316 using a Gilmour sound. Not bad actually…
Is the rp500 effects only or does it have amp models and cab sim?
yes ..effects, amp models, cab sim all that in it to shape your own tone...and presets, drum machine, and looper
Can you use independent stomp boxes too?
well yes, but delay, reverb, compressor, and distortion, wah and volume pedal are already part of this unit..just step on it to select your effect/ effects
@@DebParedes i just have a couple of pedals newer than the unit.
I have one of the rp1000 I’ve never used. Im a novice player and Im not very tech savvy.
Do you want to sell it..I am looking for something to get started with. Thanks
it takes time to read up but once you understood how it works, you'll be amazed
