    So I’m new to crocheting and your videos have helped me a lot! I plan on making these for my grandmother for Christmas in a country blue color and I can’t wait to start them! I was wondering how would I crochet a snowman into the placemats?

      You will have to make a graph to figure out when to change colors. It that sounds too difficult, you can always make a snowman applique and sew it on the top.

    I think it would be neat to have matching coasters for this. Same pattern just smaller size and square….?? Maybe chain 12 or 15, then follow the rest of the pattern?

      That would work. Just chain until it is as wide as you want, work back loop only stitches until the border is as thick as you want it to be. Then just decide how many stitches to work in the back loops on each side.
