Hi @Temi Lamoreaux! I actually have a link to the exact materials I used to block this mat in my BLOCKING tutorial video! Check it out for more info. Click Here: ruclips.net/video/BcTNobwoQBU/видео.html
Thank you for your tutorial - love the pattern. As for you pattern document may I suggest you make a simple change to the document address. As this document stands anyone receiving it can change the pattern as they wish because of the last word in the URL address. Change the word EDIT to VIEW. Anyone can see it but not make changes to it. If you type the word COPY this will force the receiver to make copy thus ensuring your pattern remains intact. Don’t want to sound bossy but I want your hard work to remain yours and not changed unintentionally by others.
Hi Susan! Thank you so much for pointing this out! I will make the adjustments where I can and learn for future videos. I appreciate you having my back and thank you so much for watching!! 😊🧡🧶
Hi @Saph Stitched! You could use a yarn that is partially cotton but be away of what the other part is and what percentage the materials are. I would stay away from any animal fibers but acrylic and polyamide types of material should be ok.
Love all your tutorials. Easy to follow. Just printed the Farm House Place Mat and will be working on it today. Thank you for all the great tutorials and keep them coming. Have a great day.
2 years later, and here I am. I had a stroke end of 2023. Here I am still recuperating and well on the mend. Going to do this in natural cotton. Simple and I hope to succeed. Wish me luck. Thank you.
Love this pattern………ty for posting……….like the colors you showed but the Dark blue was not easy to see where your 1st stitch goes or where the hook goes into the sc or the ch-1 space……so just a suggestion would be to use a light color yarn when teaching……
I loved your live chat!! I liked that you were able to display on the screen the pattern because I could take a screenshot of it and always have it. I love this pattern, I’ve been looking for one for placemats. Your colors will match my kitchen perfectly. I’m excited!! Thank you. I really enjoy your tutorials because you take the time to explain and you crochet slow so it’s so much easier to follow. I really appreciate that. Thanks again. I really enjoyed this pattern. I really love how you change colors, I’ve always had trouble in the past, but I love this technique.
Hi Melissa! Hmm, honestly I think the best advice I could give is exposure and playing with different stitches and patterns. Get a crochet stitches book and maybe work up a small square swatch of each pattern. This will help a lot! 😊❤️🧶
I am absolutely in love with the 'Farmhouse' theme. But, my kitchen is 'cupcake' themed :) Any ideas on how to make something for my kitchen that is farmhouse themed that fits in?
Hi Lavender Rainbow! I have an idea! Make this placemat in the colors that you have in your kitchen. That way you will compliment the theme you already have going on but the cotton yarn look of a crocheted placemat will give a farmhouse feel. Give it a try! OR you can use a cream color placemat that is all one solid color OR a cream/off-white color combined with a beige/light brown. would be a good transition color! Hope this helps! 😊🧡🧶
@@CrochetWithTiffany I will definitely try that out - the beige & cream should be neutral enough. I don't want pink/purple/blue like my theme, lol. Maybe I will add a short tasselled edge on each side & maybe run a strip of jute at each of the long ends as well :) This should "farmhouse" my cupcake theme. Thank you soooo much for your excellent ideas!
Having an issue when changing colors. My pattern tends to want to start going up. So when I change colors and complete the row, chain 1 and start the next row and get to the end of that row (so the end of row 12) what is my last stitch? Is it the SC from switching colors or the stitch before that?
Hi, the written pattern doesn’t seem to be available, do you have it posted on a website somewhere? Thank you, the placemats look beautiful and I can’t wait to try them!
Hi, I love your tutorial but maybe I missed it. How many of these placemats can you make from your yarn amounts in the written pattern? I'm trying to figure out how many skeins to buy to make 8 placemats.
Thank you for the heads up. I'll look into that. Here is the pattern in the mean time. 😊 CLICK HERE: www.crochetwithtiffany.com/product-page/farm-house-placemat-pattern
Actually, I used a size 4 weight yarn which is a 10 ply. Careful, a 4 ply yarn would be itty bitty super thin. Unfortunately I am not sure exactly how many grams of yarn this would be. I hope you have success in using what you have access to. 😊🧶💖
Yes! That would actually be very pretty! DK being thinner yarn you will get a pretty result. Just be aware that the DK weight is thinner than the Size 4 weight I am using in the tutorial. You might want to pull out a measuring tape and add more stitches and rows to meet dimensions. 🤗❤️🧶

Great question Ashley! I think your question could be answered by counting your stitches. If you make sure each row has the same number of stitches you will be able to keep your edges straight AND you will be able to know when to stop your row or to keep going. Once you get a better feel of how the rows begin and end then you will only have to count during color changes and every 3-4 rows or so on the solid color sections. I think this will help. You got this!

Hi!I need to know what yarn is the best for placemat?
Hi there! My favorite yarn for placemats is 100% cotton yarn. There are many different options. Just find colors that make you excited. 😊🧶❤️
Hello from Canada
Hiii first time here! What is these best advice you give a beginner like myself, to memorize the stitches names and to read patterns? thank you 😊❤️

Hi Tiff ❤️❤️❤️
Is this considered the moss stitch?
Hi MoreWithMandy! Yes! This is also known as the Moss Stitch, or the Seed Stitch. Great recognition! 😊🧡🧶
@@CrochetWithTiffany you need to correct the written instructions for row 1. It’s not the same as your showing in the video.🤪
Hi, I love your tutorial but maybe I missed it. How many of these placemats can you make from your yarn amounts in the written pattern? I'm trying to figure out how many skeins to buy to make 8 placemats.
Hi Jamie! I believe what I accounted for is just the one placemat! I love that you plan to make 8! So happy you like it! 😊❤️🧶
Not sure where i am going wrong here. Every row for me starts with a sc stitch then a sc space🤔
Hmmm. We want the number of stitches in each row to be odd so that they offset. Give that a try. 😊🧶❤️
Hi
I’m new to your channel want to make placements for my daughter
That would be fun Debbie! I think she will love it! 😊🧡🧶

How many grams of cotton 4 ply yarn will be needed for this 18×12 inch place mat

What is the size of the yarn. Dk
Great question! I am using a size 4 weight yarn. Just a typical Lily's sugar'n cream.
Hi can i use dk 100% cotton yarn

I'm confused. This is not the moss stitch. It's the seed stitch. Completely different.
