As much as I love seeing videos about lush, beautiful plants, videos where people are trying to solve issues with plants that aren't 100% healthy are my favorite. It's nice to know other plant lovers go through the same struggle! I also love when you pointed out that we learn best from our mistakes. I just starting a few months and have killed a couple of plants and at first it felt like maybe I should give up, but I'm learning what to do/not to do and what works best for my space.
That’s the spirit! You just have to keep reminding yourself that no one is born with a “green thumb” and learning about plants is like anything else; mistakes will be made but that doesn’t mean that you are no good, just learning. Also a great tip when starting would be to learn how to propagate each plant that you are purchasing and propagate when you can so you never truly lose your plants while you’re learning 😊
Hear hear sis...i will say it breaks my heart a bit when they die. I saw two dying plants and I refused them because they wouldn't give me at a sale price. I went back and the two plants are still there in worst state... that bothered me. I still feel I should have brought them home and try to save them...
Don't give up! I've been gardening a looooong time and I have killed many plants over the years. I also learn something new everyday. It gives you a tremendous sense of satisfaction when you can finally save something you've always had a problem with........for me right now, it's cyclamens. I used to buy them every Christmas and promptly kill them. I have actually kept 4 of them alive since last year, and the other day, I saw one is going to flower!! Can't believe it! LOL Good luck!
I know this is a super long video but I actually enjoy listening to you mumbling about plants. Sometimes I'm not even watching the video, but playing it in the background whilst I do something else and it is really calming background noise xxx Loving your videos!!!!
You shouldn’t be scared or shy to show what you’re doing! We all learn new things everyday by making mistakes. You do a great job with the plants and the videos!!❤️
Only a true plant lovers would say “I can do this all day” while repotting plants. I love 💕 your videos very informative and entertaining. Keep showing us new information. Thanks for sharing all of your plant love. 🪴🌿💕

Learning that a plant guru like you could have so many “problem plants” made me feel a lot better about myself and hopeful that i can grow better plants, too, eventually. 😂
You seemed a bit overwhelmed. I felt so bad I wanted to jump in there and help with repotting and propagation😞 All in all I learn a lot from your videos👍💪💚💛🧡💙🌿🌴🌵
Ok, you are my favorite human! I love your personality WAY more than any other RUclipsr by far! I just get the most authentic vibe from you & I adore your transparency! Thanks for being you! 😁
Plus your content is on point & I learn so much from you! I also love seeing your collection!!!! Your backgrounds & personal jungle are so beautiful & pleasant! I could just watch & listen to you forever! I feel a binge coming on. I love nerding out with you!!! lol!
It's Grace. I'm still using my son's account , I haven't change it yet 😂😂 I watch your videos over and over, even when I am busy, you are on all day long. I even fall asleep watching your videos at night. They are so relaxing. Thank you for all what you doing and sharing with the world ❤️
Thank you for posting videos. I find watching you work on your plants very satisfying. I'm excited to work on my plants and see if if I can make them looks as gorgeous as your plants. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos whenever I have time.
I learn so much from you and I am praying that your plants get back that special love you have ❤️ for them and know they will soon ☺️ smile again because you are a good plant dad this your plant friend from Jamaica all the best on all you repot
I love how considerate you are with your plants. ☺️ And thank you for listing the scientific names (Genus species). It’s really helpful to see and hear the names. Great video.
Great relaxing and informative video. From beginning to end! “All plants are welcome in my home.” Love that thought. Thanks for sharing your passion for plants and for igniting mine.
It's just crazy how you can remember everything about your plants. I've never watched such long videos to the end like yours :)) but this type of rescue mission is super helpful!
Well, my guess about the theme of most caress-able plants was waaayyy off. 😂Enjoyed your video. It’s fascinating to see how different your growing conditions are and how this informs your decision about type of pot and soil change out to rescue these struggling plants. You are always smiling and it conveys the joy you feel doing this. That’s infectious and wonderful! So many questions arise but I want to allow many others to ask. If you answer (as you normally do for every comment) for others everyone learns. You need an assistant especially if you’re holding down a full time job too? JMHO. Loved the video, music and content but you being you is the icing on the cake! Thanks a lot for all your hard work for us viewers. I also like before I watch your videos now!🤣Keep safe, Sean!
onlyplants from a high stress lucrative job to no job was the best decision of my life. I finally figured out all that money and prestige I thought was important really wasn’t. Hope you will find happiness in whatever you do. Just remember only you really have to be happy with yourself. Really!
Thank you for your amazing video. I love all your plants. ( I love your dog. He or she is so adorable and beautiful. Once again, thank you for sharing amazing and wonderful tip. You are 😉😉😉👍👍👍👍
That was great. It was fun to be with you, but I also learned several things. I recently gave my old golden pothos a moss pole (actually coconut coir), and I paused you and went right away to mist it! I also made sure some nodes with aerial roots made contact with the pole. Thank you for letting us sit in with you during the repotting and propagation. 💖💖💖💖💖
Love you man 😃 I'm going to my plants to see how greedy am I today 😉 beautiful collection Can't wait to see more of your plants and you xoxo from Poland
You seem to be such a nice and genuine person, i love to watch you videos, you somehow make me smile and happy, hope you are successfull with your channel, the internet needs more good people like you on the top! And thanks for showing your fails, and making me feel better about my plantmurders ;) greetings from austria!
I am really enjoying your videos, the information is amazing. I loved the one you did about soil!! it has given me so many good ideas for my calatheas. As well the nursery tour you did where you interviewed the owner was brilliant!! great advice!! Thank you for putting all this content together :)
You are wonderfully soothing! I played this video in the background while I was working and enjoyed it very very much 😊 I adore ‘plant rescue’ style videos because it helps to spread knowledge around on what we may be doing wrong ourselves and it’s always nice to keep it real and show that no plant person, no matter how experienced, doesn’t make mistakes but that those mistakes also aren’t the end of a persons plant journey. You have gained a new subscriber and I look forward to more of your content 😊
Liked and sub because you do such an awesome job of describing & showing what you are doing, mentioning mistakes, showing insect damage and how you treat it, and I laughed out loud when you said you had another plant that you are not sure where it is.. Many of us can relate when we have so many. I just did that last week and discovered a squirrel had knocked it off a shelf and it was on the ground behind some pots for I dont know how long in a tiny pot, should have been bone dry but thankfully it was in a dark, damp spot. I watch a lot of vids, and this is a rare chance to find somone who is comfortable just being yourself.
Whoa thank you so much. Im glad we are connected. None of us are perfect plant parents and it really helps if we listen to one another and keep on learning 🙌🏻
Hi! I agree with you. I really appreciate the plant, watch chain plant. I'm on my 3rd one and I can't seem to keep it alive, It just slowly browns out.. Each time I always see it slowly turning brown until its all brown. I have a tiny bit left that's green and I'm trying to keep it watered. It is in a plastic pot. But I really like and appreciate this plant and I will continue to buy it until I conquer it's needs to flourish. This is what I do for all the plants that are special to me until I get what their needs are. I don't buy huge plants I only get baby plants perfect for learning the plant. Like we learn our children from a baby stage I'm in your old stomping grounds, New York City. My plants overall are doing well. Everything is nice and green but I've had to watch and understand the need for each plant. My latest plants are Rattlesnake and Red Maranta, plishlist plants. Ferns are crazy about water, Crotons, Marantas, Pileas, Fettonias, I don't understand why I choose all these plants that need special attention. I just gravatate to what it is I like and the next thing I know, IT'S A DIVA. Also there were 8 more I had gotten, all baby plants, most four or five dollars. That was in one day, most from the Union Square Market. I was completely pleased by this Jackpot that day as I said previous most were plishlist plants. Well, that's my story to share. Keep on loving and selling them babies. I'm thinking about selling baby plants in my community next season. These will be ones that I propagate. That process is fun and satifying as well. Take care and I look forward to watching your videos as you are one of the deep diving and daring planters in the plant world that I watch often. JOHN 3:16-18.
New subscriber...loved ever single second of this video Cute puppy Gorgeous plants Jazz music Plant love Hanging with you in Indonesia Thanks for this! All plants are welcome in my home too 🌱♥️🥰
GREAT video! Informative, saw a lot of plants I now want! I made a list as you were going around showing them to us LOL You're enthusiasm for plants is infectious and NOT boring! I wish I could just stay home and be a plant mom. New subscriber!
It sometimes get lonely when I'm repotting my plants. I'm planning to cut one of my Gloriosums tomorrow so maybe I'll watch this one again or another one of your repotting videos so you can keep me company. :D
Binge watching your videos this past week has inspired me to propagate and repot my plants that I've been procrastinating to do! Thank u and I feel so good right now! Hehe
That skinny leaf you found looks just like a ground orchid, I have a very pretty purple one. OR, could be some sort of palm. Looking forward to seeing what it is LOL
OMG! I’m so glad I found your videos! They are all soooo inspiring, informative and interesting! Wish you dream comes true sooner (becoming a full time plant dad) so that you will probably update more videos for us lol.
When you said how mealy bugs like to sit in the hoya's new leaf, i hurriedly walked towards my hoya carnosa (it currently has many leaves), and there it is, 1 mealy bugs on my hoya's new leaves 😂. It would be great if you can make video about fertilizer and pestiside/fungiside later 🙂
I love how much effort you put into your videos. I wish I had a place like yours, just filled with plants haha. Love your vids and your plant collection, keep it up!
Hi Sean , I only rescued one of my ferns yesterday from bugs it’s been having a constant fight for awhile , so I cut it right back and flushed the soil out , it will regrow back in time looking good already , sometimes we have to do these drastic measures huh thank you for your video 👌🪴🥰🧤👒🐨🐨🇦🇺❣️
A lot of plants that you think are not getting enough water are actually overwatered. I live in a dry climate and water once a week. My plants, including my Cacti, are doing very well. When I bring home new plants, I isolate them until I am shure they don't have a decease or bugs.
I enjoyed this video so much! Your genuine love and enjoyment of plants, all living things( so cute you notice the beauty in the spider and welcome the " hijacker plant") Its nice to watch a person who genuinely feels about nature, plants As I feel. I love all your content; but this save them format sooo helpful . I learned and applied some of your methods to my own struggling babes! Thank you! Wishing you wellness of mind, body, and spirit.
Just came across your channel. Now I’m binge watching all your videos. Love your videos! I love the camera angles too. The comments in your videos are funny
For hoyas the best pot is a plastic pot. Their root system is very gentle, this way the root won’t stick to the pot when repotting like with terra-cotta, this way the damage is minimal.Definitely there are hoyas that like a lot of water! Hoya Bella is another example. Thank you for the spider mite bites examples. Really need it.
Omg I was wondering why my bella kept drying up... especially when it grew bushy. I saw that some people actually submerge hoyas in terracotta into water for half a day before repotting, this is to loosen the roots that may have stuck to the pot!
Yeaayy another session of 'agronomy' online class , i should get a degree for ornamental agronomy after watching this lol. I enjoyed it a lot! No worries for long videos !
I love how relaxed and calm you are about dealing with pests!! As a relatively new plant parent (and bug-phobe😩) I always PANIC when I see any dots, marks, or otherwise on my plants! How long did it take for you to achieve this Zen attitude?? 😊 Edited to add: love your tattoos too!! Are any of them plant-based?? :P
Hello, plants coexist with pests in nature. Its part of the balance I guess. All pest problems have a solution, it just takes research and patience. This challenge makes plant keeping so much more interesting! I have a tattoo of a peony, but I wish I have a monstera!
@@onlyplants Wow you responded just as I was finishing this video (the ending is so funny😭😂 hope your stuff is safe!!) On tattoos: I'm hoping to get a Monstera as my next one too.. I remember you telling us about Celia (I hope it's the right spelling!). Like you, my lovely monster was one of my firsts, and he has taught me SO much--and, of course, continues to teach me today😁Thank you so much for your helpful response, and for your amazing content!! I feel more confident as I learn from you :))
Greetings from Cipete! 😀👋 Still a newbie gardener trying to "green up" our house...bHappy to be a new subscriber and learn from your experiences! Looks like a big house/land!
This reminds me of when I purchased an albo online and it had mealys since day one. The seller kept telling me it was my potting mix not “hugging” the roots, not enough sun, too much water, etc. Thank you for confirming with yours in the first 5 seconds.
Pests are actually a bigger problem than we give them credit for. There are probably a handful of pests we talk about but in fact there are many more and some are invisible to our eyes or live in the roots. We should treat our plants systematically with pest control 🤓

I love laughing at my mistakes! And sharing this experience has brought so much joy! Hopefully others wont repeat my mistakes 🤗
That’s the spirit! Arnold Polin wow really Arnold?? Would have had no idea if you didn’t explain that plants need care too 😱

Thank you so much Vivian. Im glad to bring you some comfort and entertainment at times like these!
“Come on, come on, come on over. Im not going to hurt you...... oh yes i am.”
*cue flashbacks to the person who broke my heart* JK HAHAHAH
Oops haha. Sounds like a Taylor Swift song ya.
I thought you were kindly going to discard it and than you totally blew my mind. 😄
Burst out laughing!!! Oh yes I am... 🤣🤣
Yes, I laughed at that too. But them mealys are diiiisgusting. They have no mercy on any house plant.
i was about to post the same thing!! haha! shawn is so funny! :P
You shouldn’t be scared or shy to show what you’re doing! We all learn new things everyday by making mistakes. You do a great job with the plants and the videos!!❤️

Thank youuu. I will do an update tor sure and make sure I highlight then in a future video!
@@onlyplants Shawn can you ship me some of your mix please? Its so hard to find the bamboo and burn rice hull.
@@onlyplants Shawn can you do a series on climate and zones? I find that repotting propogating and care does depend on regions somewhat.

Glad to see fellow Indonesian planter, we got a lot of cheap and beautiful plants here in the country.
Learning that a plant guru like you could have so many “problem plants” made me feel a lot better about myself and hopeful that i can grow better plants, too, eventually. 😂
My confidence level shoots up because I know now that even for Sean he has smaller leaves and problems with his plants just like me.
I love his passion and appreciation for all nature, even cute little spiders.

OMG! I’m so glad I found your videos! They are all soooo inspiring, informative and interesting! Wish you dream comes true sooner (becoming a full time plant dad) so that you will probably update more videos for us lol.
Haha thank you so muchhh 🤓🙏🏽
My heart dropped when you cut up the varigated adansonaii 😂
Mine too! Haha. But adansonii propagate so easily!
Oooh yeah there will be videos on those coming up 🤓
Love the framing with the jade plant during the intro! Definitely easy to see that you're a photographer :-)
Hah thank you. I was a film student before too!
I'm obsessed with your videos! They help me a lot so thanks! 😃

So much info, thank you! I am a fairly new plant parent and this video will help so much.
Glad to help. Its so fun to troubleshoot plants!
39:23 I know how that feels, it's so relaxing and fun doing it during the weekend ugh

Plant Lover from Malaysia. 🇲🇾🧔🏻🙏🏻
Thank youu. Hole all is good and safe in Malaysia 🤓🙏🏽
I learned so much from this! Thank you 💚🌿🌱🪴
A lot of plants that you think are not getting enough water are actually overwatered.
Thank you so much 😌 Enjoyed sharing my private thoughts and knowledge while continuing to learn.
What a cute little jumping Spider :3
Just came across your channel. Now I’m binge watching all your videos. Love your videos! I love the camera angles too. The comments in your videos are funny
Thank you so much! I enjoyed making the vids and being connected to you all 🤗
Yes, thank you for all the infos and especially to rescue them. 🌱♥️
You’re welcome. More videos like this to come!
Bing watching your videos.👍
🙌🏻
Love the set-up, it's perfect 😊
Thank you Gabriella! 🙌🏻
I saw that some people actually submerge hoyas in terracotta into water for half a day before repotting, this is to loosen the roots that may have stuck to the pot!
onlyplants that’s a great idea! I’m not gentle enough...I think I’ll stick to plastic hahaha.
Yeaayy another session of 'agronomy' online class , i should get a degree for ornamental agronomy after watching this lol. I enjoyed it a lot! No worries for long videos !
Haha thank youuu. Ive much more to learn and share!
I love how relaxed and calm you are about dealing with pests!! As a relatively new plant parent (and bug-phobe😩) I always PANIC when I see any dots, marks, or otherwise on my plants! How long did it take for you to achieve this Zen attitude?? 😊
Edited to add: love your tattoos too!!
Still a newbie gardener trying to "green up" our house...bHappy to be a new subscriber and learn from your experiences!
Looks like a big house/land!
Thank you Max, hope you and fam are having a safe and blissful time in Cipete 😌
I kept starring with that cute puppy haha
You have tons of amazing plants. I think that they will be fascinating to look at when planted all together in a greenhouse may be. ❤️
I hope to have a botanical garden haha
"Kaya mo 'yan." (You can do it.)
Repotting is so therapeutic ...have a nice weekend ahead!
Yes it is!! My favorite thing to do. Thank youu
Thank you for shedding light on the issue. I appreciate the response and wish you great success!
Wow you got a lot of work to do!!! It’s like a busy hospital 🤪🤪
Marilyn Jenkins 😁
Haha I have a lot more that is not filmed 🤣
