Hi Shawn, I don’t ever write but something concerned me 🤣 If you move to studio I don’t think your videos would feel so “homey” as they do now. I love seeing the surroundings of your beautiful house. The tree you have on the background gives me LIFE 🤣 so please do not move your channel to a studio. Do it for us, keep being messy and keep dealing with lack of space, it’s very relatable to all of our lives 😂 Much love from Puerto Rico
Haha thank you so much. I already bought shelves and table for a YT studio though! It will be on next weeks video 🙈 it will be a more efficient space where I can show you guys more!
Wooooo Puerto Rico presente! 🇵🇷
Looking forward to the studio setup while keeping it homey.
Thumbs up to the 'keep being messy' part because I believe that makes your videos more lighthearted and exciting. Your expressions and your mistakes, thank God you didn't edit them out. I really enjoyed watching the whole 58+min (I could even watch the whole 4 hours. No joke!)
@@maria_nakajima i of course could that too :)
@@maria_nakajima I totally agree!
I absolutely love your channel! I love your humor! Your “boy” planter still has me cracking up. Finally a channel that is human, makes mistakes, gets flustered, and has a sense of humor! Add in that you put up a lot of videos is definitely a plus. I love having new videos to watch! I am so glad your channel came across my RUclips! Thank you for being you!
Thank you so much 😌🙏🏽
this kind of content keeps me going this quarantine..... and also helps me repot as well. haha.
Thank you 🙌🏻 🙌🏻 your plants must be so happy
Lp
I love how honest and laid-back you are with everything. We all should be this forgiving with ourselves. I'm a messy, experimental gardener and jeez it's so wonderful seeing you demystifying houseplantlife with your content.
So glad to see someone who lives in a tropical country. I always struggle with what google says for my plants and what they actually need.
Hello, you are right not many advice on plant care in the tropics. Im still learning as I talk to nurseries people and other plant parents in the region. Hope to share more with you guys in time!
Here’s me wishing I was born fully Indonesian instead of mixed and living in the Netherlands, just so I could get my lil hands on aaaall of those awesome plants. Also, I would definitely watch a 4 hour video of potting up plants. Yes, quarantine is that boring.
Haha come and visit us when its safe!
You being clumsy throughout the video is just a reflection of the reality of all plant parents, so don't worry about it LOL
Haha thank you. I hope to have a more calm and peaceful attitude in time. 🙏🏽😊
I can’t even describe how happy I am I found your channel and how much I love your personality.💜 Don’t ever change.
Whoaaa thank you so much 🙏🏽
You are too sweet. So cute to see how you care for your plants and how excited you are when seeing new growth.
Hey Sean, I sure appreciate you spending 20 hours to bring us this video, wow, that's a lot of work! Glad you kept all the little accidents in haha, the mess-ups are so relatable and entertaining. Thank for the work and all the tidbits of information.
Thank you so much Natali much appreciated
I know you hear this a lot but we all really love how real and organic you are, you are funny and a joy to watch, all you videos are very informative and I have learned so much from you. You have a beautiful soul and it’s a pleasure to have you as a teacher in our plant world; thank you thank thank you!
Also thank you for interacting with your followers 💜
Thank youuu that is so kind.
Finally! Reality potting!!!! Thank you so much for knocking your soil off the table and for sharing your mess. I don't feel like it's just me 😊. Rarely does a day go by that I don't have potting soil to clean up. Thought I would switch to LECA....day one I spilled those little balls everywhere. You are so good at teaching and your humor is refreshing. Thanks for sharing! I love the long videos!!!!
Thank youuu. I guess we are not fated for LECA (yet!)
You have such a beautiful personality! Please stay yourself, you don't have to change anything for us. I enjoy your videos so much the way they are! Could listen to you 24h a day ☺ Thanks a million! 🥰
Whoaaaaa thank you so much that is do encouraging
50 shades of pink! LOL Much better idea than plastic, as long as you keep the moss wet! I would forget lol I really wanted a pink princess so I found a "relatively" good price from Thailand, and I don't usually pay high prices for plants but this one I decided to treat myself with. It took over 3 weeks to get here in the heat (Florida) and it was dried out, one or two tiny roots still connected, dusty and all but one tiny leaf was hanging on. I almost threw it out. Planted it in a good aroid mix and watered it and just prayed : )...........it did nothing for about a month! I now have a new leaf with another one on the way. I'm sure it was rebuilding it's roots under there. Morale of the story : don't give up until absolutely necessary!
Thank youu
Dude, thank you for being so relatable! You are fun to watch and I appreciate your organic personality and charm!
Now I know why I don't dare do any vids here! Plant people be mad at me the way I plant my babies hahahaha. Step one find dirt .... In compost/burn pile only for burning organic material. Find any container that hold dirt. If no holes improvise. Put soil stick plant in and put in shady area. If plant is rooted I water if not rooted I wait the following day to water. Then I wish them luck and say live! Hahahaha love your vids. I need to work more on making my technique more refined :) love the info you share with us.
I think a lot of people will find your method interesting!
@@onlyplants hahahaha I don't think so ;)
The hot mess is also me when I’m propagating and repotting. Oops dropped that, oops broke that pot, oops there’s dirt everywhere lmao. I can so relate but sometimes half the fun is in making the mess 😉
I also agree don't get a studio I too enjoy watching you surrounded with plants, trees and butterflies
Haha Im actually building one right now and making a video for it. Its even greener than my balcony! Cant wait to share
I never tire of this video, Sean. I have rewatched this so many times I've lost count. Really truly happy with your channel. Good job!
😀😀😀 thank you so much. I enjoy making these videos

Watching you work and "nerd out" is very therapeutic. Thanks for all the hard work! Beautiful plants! Especially love the pineapple pot. I have a Janet Craig in a pineapple 🍍pot. Thank you again and I'm a new subscriber so I can't wait to binge more onlyplant episodes 🤩
Poor Sean!🥴LOL! I felt so bad you kept knocking things over but, you're such a trooper, nothing really seems to get you down. You know I love your channel and I hope you never change. I'm looking forward to your next video, always. Be blessed, my dear n happy growing!!😇🌱🙏💝
Thank youuu
Your videos are so full of information. Thanks for sharing. I felt your stress and pain in that when the potting medium spilled.

Thank youu 😌❤️
I have propagated begonias, direct in soil, from a leaf, no stem..just for fun and I did work, I did cover with a cloche , but where I leave is pretty dry weather, so from under the leaf , it grow little new baby begonias, very cool.
It's fun to watch you repot. You're funny
Enjoyed watching you repotting and propagating...very satisfying...and learnt a lot. Thanks!
Thank you so much for coming along
What a delight your videos are! Especially the captions. Keep doing that you're doing
Wow, very informative! Thanks, I am learning a lot from you and Leafing Around.😍
Here’s to encouragement!!! Yas!!! Will propagate my pothos and Phils like what you did on that Neon!!! 😍🌱
Wow!!! Lots of learnings!!!
Sweet. Theres so many ways to propagate them! I should do a video on that soon

👼🏻
Plant care made even more fun, keep up!!
Thank youu
I have one of those aloe plants, now I need that pineapple pot! That was too cute. I’m not sure if I need the Peter pot 🤷🏻♀️😂😜
Haha everybody needs a Peter pot 💁🏻♂️
A peter pot is a necessity!
Ahhh i regret not getting a Paraiso Verde from your shop lol oh well 😅 really enjoy these longer videos. I like hearing you talk bout plants
Thank you for the support 🙈
Hello Sean, you look like very seriuos and also funny. Happy planting.👍
You are too funny, glad I found your channel, new subscriber! 🌿🌱🤗
Welcome to the channel 🙌🏻👻
@@onlyplants hi boy
@@onlyplants i want your Facebook please.thanks
One very important lesson I learnt from watching your videos is propagation. Especially when I don’t already have green fingers yet 😅
Hi Shawn, I just love videos , had so much fun watching
Thank youu
I'm learning a lot from you and it's fun to watch you😍
Hallo dear Shawn
Though my English is not very good, I will give you my greetings here from Germany. I will thank you for sooooo many interesting tutorials I was listening to in the last month. I am astonished about your great knowledge and as well your self humor and not to forget a lot of philosophy.
I am a woman of 81 years and have always been interested in plants. My eldest Treephilodendron is about 40 years old and growing in a huge pot only with water. One can nearly only see the big roots. Its "brother" is as old a Monstera Variegata (with many children). I did never though, that these plants meanwhile are so expensive. But now during Coronatimes, I have filled my "Wintergarten" with several new plants - (followed by the pest). Now I am fighting against spider-mites. Boring!! And expensive.
Now once more my thanks to you - and have a good time for all your helpful work.
Beatrix Classen / Germany
Whoaa hope you win the battle against the spider mites. They respond well to neem oil spray here
Hi ! I enjoy watching you doing your propagation.
Thank you 🙏🏽
I'm learning about plants almost everything from you thank you soooo much sean!!
I absoluterly love your channel 💜
Thank yoii 🙃
So lucky you are to be able to find all those different types of plants near you.
Thank you 😊
Coming from a neighbouring country, I felt that "hwuaa" @11:23 😂😂
I also do the same aerial root "training" - specifically wrapping sticks with sphagnum moss and using a twine to hold them. Then I clip the plant as it moves up until it has started to cling its roots to it. Propagation is easy then - I cut the rotten twines, pull the moss with tons of roots and cut them..Guess it works in tropical locations only? unsure :)
The pot for the Philo 68XXX whatever is fab!!
I really love to see how you enjoy what you are doing vs simply showing a step or process. All is so natural, messy, something falls, gets broken LOL
Thank youu.
Yes you need to keep the moss pole wet and also humidity is required to encourage rooting into the moss pole. I can imagine you’d have to spray it very often if your air is dry :)
I think you were just tired. I’m same way, when I’m tired I have tendency to make a mess and yes, implants are expensive. Good luck👍🏽🙈
Heyo from Ontario, Canada! I totally agree with keeping it natural.
I find leca to be so boring lol I enjoy making a mess with my different soil mixes and changing things up. I wish I could love leca!!! Lol
“Oh something fell on me…. Cut, That was creepy.” 😂😂😂😂
😅😅
Shawn! Put some pants on that pot. 😂
This video made my day. 9/11 is always a struggle for me. Thanks for always uploading plant videos.
Big fan🙌
Thank youu
Took me two hours to finish this video as I keep rewinding it. I enjoyed it very much! 🙌🏻
Whoaaa you have all lot of patience. Thank you
"What is also crazy... is how much I spent on plants this year" Whaaaooo I CAN ABSOLUTELY RELATE!! LOL
50 shades of PINK!😂😂
That naked pot was very funny. I'm getting 69686. I need that pot!
As for Leca clear pots are best for it. If you can't see the water, it's not fun.
Thanks for the video again. I don't mind a long video, if anything it's not long enough. 😆
I like how green it is around your house, the place right now is perfect. How about a little extra table or make the table a bit longer :-)
You are right about leca pots! Haha they could have been fun if we can see some root action
Thankyou. I have days like that too. Things just arnt smooth. Love your realness.
Thank you. Life is unpredictable and thats what makes it beautiful and exciting 😊
Oh, buddy, yes, I'm specialist about begonias, most of all, killing them hehehe and fitonias too... They just don't like me... if they could run, they would! xD wow Sean, the destroyer hehhe ty for your videos (= Don't worry about the time, like 1 hour, 50 min, 20 min video, if were here, we expect you to talk and show us what you do to make your plants and our plants better.
Thanks alot Sean your vlogs is a big help for me and to many
i will only say that this video is very very good, thank you of your time, i understand you have so little time over. i like long videos but you have take a pause to breath too. you very good to explane to care the plant. sorry for my bad english....hihihi.😅😃
Thank you so much 😌
Yes 58 minutes long vlog, my happiness before even getting into it 💃🏻 happiness!!!

Thank you so much. I really enjoy working on the videos 👻
You are awesome love your channel you’re my next Netflix
Whoaaaaa thats a compliment... I love netflix 😅
I’m a LECA user and it has saved so many of my plants for completely falling to their death. If you use LECA IRS best to use a clear pot so that you can see roots and water levels. I enjoyed your video and your mishaps. Always learn something useful.
Hello yes you are right I will get clear vessels soon! It would be so cool to see the roots in there too
All so beautiful. I love nature.
Hi, Sean/Shawn (I can't find where it's spelled, and I see people write it both ways). I hate propagating in water because the roots the plant grows in water aren't the roots it needs for soil, and so you still go through a transition when you pot up a water-propagated cutting. I have always felt it was easier to just skip the water, and plant the cutting in the soil it will grow in, then put the pot in a humid environment (a plastic bag, a covered tray, a terrarium). Works very well for me. I have grown lots of begonia cuttings by either planting the leaf whole in the pot, or by cutting the leaf into wedges, with each wedge containing a large vein. They root very easily for me that way... unfortunately, I don't do well GROWING begonias... the ones I like (Rex and other rhizomatous types) don't do well in my conditions. I have my most recent one in a tray with a humidity dome where I grow my micro-mini Sinningias...it's doing better there, but it's not fun because I can't enjoy it. Anyway, hope this helps.
Whoaaa thank you for the info. Ive stuck many begonia leaf cuttings into soil but they either rotted off or dried off... I dont think I got the soil moisture and air humidity right...
onlyplants the joy (?) Of plants is the journey of discovery of what works for you in your conditions and care attitude.
I do love your tetrasperma behind, it's one of the easyest and fastest grower in my experience. I got mine 10 years ago and i had never problems with any pests with it, and it can handle and/or survive mostly all situations about light and watering. for me, alot underrated plant..
Whoaaaa 10 years ago... it must be covering a building by now! Haha
@@onlyplants no, I have plants from the cuttings of it. The original plant isn't there anymore 😕 I was moving alot in these 10 years and my plants and me struggled some times. So at once I needed to store her highly in a stairwell for 3 month, with very low light, and between the stress, I forgot her there, so I think 2 month without watering (in the summer btw) 😬 i gladly could safe her 💚💚💚
This plant goes to so many lifechangings with me ....... so she means alot to me, and we will be together till my end comes.
I wish I could get my hands on the variegata once, but they are so fucking expensive. Sadly, but I don't give up, maybe one time I get one. Or someone is making me a gift over about 4000 U$ 😅🤣😂
Dropping soil is the usual for me too LOL
Your videos make me happy 😊
Thank you so much Shirley. Im happy to hear that too!
your knowledge is so inspiring
thumbs up for the pink princess, :)
Four hours content into one video, maybe split it into two where you have part one and part two soon. This will have more free time for yourself. Love this episode and delightful to watch.
Haha I have something else for next episode... in fact I have hundreds of cool episode ideas that I need to realize haha 👻
Haha I have other topics to cover! 😆
OMG, That Syngonium Variegated I love 💘 it so so much it's been on my wish list 😍

Your comments on the video underneath have me cracking up...
Leca person here. I have a few in soil and a few i Leca. Depends on location and need. 💚
Haha thank you. They make me smile too 🤓
Awesome! I want to get back into it at a later time. Perhaps I need the right vessels first!
i think im fine with 4 hours movie lol
😅
My thoughts exactly!
Yep you caught me. I audibly gasped when you pulled out your albo syngonium - SO GORG!! I just ordered a few from greenspaces.Id & I hope they get wild and big like yours!
They are very fast growers and pretty easy to care for. Hope yours come in good shape 😌
Almost 1hour vid!!! I love ittt🤩
Haha thank you. The editing took more than 12 hours lol.

Awesome! Hope you have a productive day ahead!
Excellent Vid !! Loved every minute!!
No Leca for me as well!👩🌾💚
Thank you Susan :)
Great info. Thanks
I want to try the way burying with sterms w/o cutting to my micans. And thank you for presenting interesting video. It wouldn't have been easy to edit a four hour video into an hour. Your video is beneficial and entertaining a lot. So 58 mnts passed quick^^. Mr.Workaholic, thank you for your hard work.👏👏👏
Thank you so much mister. You can also bury the stem in the next pot over and pin down the node into new soil. Wait a few weeks and then cut and separate the pots :)

I love you! Haha you are so funny! I can watch your videos for hrs hahaha
Thank you 😅
OMG. You're hilarious! I loved this. New fan from Malaysia
Thank youuu welcome to the channel 🙌🏻
If you soak the terra-cotta pot you could get the plant out without breaking the pot. I love plants in soil but I have a few just growing in water.
Ouuu good trick! Thank you
You can’t get the plant out, try going around the edge of the pot with a butter knife to loosen the dirt in order to get the plant out. I hope that helps you that was a beautiful pot
😀 I was impatient with this one I guess haha. My kitchen was so far away in this big home. Thankfully Ive moved to a much smaller home 😅
akhirnya nemu pot yg cocok buat annoy tetanggaku
😅
I reallyy absolutely will watch all your propagating videos, even if you make it as a routine, like, once a month thing >.< Propagating is that addicting!
Thank you so much! Yes propagation is amazing. Love seeing baby plants grow!
IM DYING , THAT ARRANGEMENT IS LIT.
👻
I love your videos!
Thank you 🥰
I just found your channel and i love it. You using leca was a bonus😁 and not only hoyas are doing well in leca, philodendron and monstera love it too. I grow over 300 plants in leca for the last 8 years and they all love it. You should give it a try🥰
I just bought a lot of mason jars! I want to grow leca side by side non-leca to see the difference in results. Give me some time to produce that video!
