Given he is a curator and purveyor of fine vintage pieces, he particularly likes to pair his plants with specific planters, which truly gives his place an artistic touch!

These are some of the healthiest plants and best displayed i ever seen, with the utmost respect for their shape and individuality, indeed treated like works of art. I like the fact the house is not too crowded with plants.
His decor style is classic and on point. The plants don’t overwhelm the space and they are each treated like the works of art they are.
Every piece of art has a Creator. Have you ever seen art just appear from no-where???? Think about that.......

Yes!!Years ago there was a family that moved to indianapolis .They didnt have much .Rented a large apartment that had this beautifull large window .She just had a large used floral couch but put a lot of plants and it was gorgeus!!
There r so many plants i n the house, how r they being watered? Wont water be dripping all over the floor, esp those hanging ones? I loved the idea , but always wonder about watering them. I live i the tropics, most of the plants shown are aplenty here. Malaysia.

I've been struggling with wanting my plants look more like a collection, more "on purpose." This was a great example of how to have a lot of plants in a home, but still have a very welcoming space. And very educational! I really enjoyed it!

Wonderful uplifting feeling in the place. Watering must be a full time job. I do wish Summer wouldn’t talk over him and keep calling him OCD. I agree that is rude. He’s just caring and methodical, something we all should be.

I don't know how I missed this fabulous video, but trying to binge watch your videos by various dates left this one missing. I have to say that this home, the decor, the ambiance of it resonates with my sense of peace, calm, serenity. His home reflects the spirit of the man who appears to be a gentle soul. This is by far my favorite of all your videos. Thank you for providing these journeys into other peoples worlds.

I know, right? I live in a house with 3 foot eaves along the entire roofline, and big trees everywhere. I get very little natural light.

You know you're a plant dad when you call Sunlight "Solar Exposure" lol
RICE WATER for plant health and growth! That is my secret to beautiful plants.
Rice contains starch, which gives the rice water its opaque, white color. These starches are beneficial to plants, encouraging healthy bacteria that grow in the roots.
Also, RICE WATER contains Minerals like nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus.

@@haleyw9366 It definitely makes sense, it'd have some minerals in it. Guess it's time to start using filtered/distilled/rainwater to rinse rice from now on (tap has chlorine, don't use hard water).
Rice Water is " the secret of growing long, healthier hair. As told by SO many beautiful Asian women who share this secret w tne world. Many utube videos about the benefits of Rice water.
That is interesting, maybe I will add that to my organic fertilzer mix
I make a custom fertilizer mix. All organic, (made up the recipe myself) My recipe contains:
crushed eggs shells
banana peel
coffee grounds
earthworm castings
local bee pollen
little bit of crushed limestone (optional)
lump wood charcoal
Maple tree leaves
peet moss
rainwater(or de-chlorinated water)
preferably everything is organic including the earthworm castings. I crush everything together and it turns into a mud with my muddle. I put the mix into ice cube trays. Now I have insanely good fertilizer cubes ready to go. I put the cubes into a zip lock bag. They can be used on any plant with a watering can (even tropicals love my recipe), I use as root tabs in my aquarium, and I even use on my terrarium

Thank you for sharing Jamie's collection! It is so inspiring to see his curatorial taste and aesthetic. I feel like once you have a certain amount of plants that it is easy to compromise style and decor for practicality. I love Jamie's uncompromising decorative vision. Every plant becomes a cherished item of contemplation from his pots to his stands. His rhipsalis collection is so impressive. It is so nice to see these home tours (how we live with plants) in addition to your tours of nurseries and outdoor expeditions (where plants come from).

After watching this beautiful video I rang Nursery’s and ordered some house plants as due to health reasons I am unable to visit them. I thought the house looked stunning and felt privileged to be able to see such beauty. Congratulations on a job well done with love for your plants.

I appreciate that Jamie curates without pretension or artifice. His look strikes that difficult to achieve balance between elegance and comfortable nonchalance. The space with it’s soft abundant natural light is a delightful setting to stage his carefully selected furnishings. He has a terrific eye for how to utilize the special vintage pieces that he has acquired. ~ He has a wonderful collection of plants. My favorite is the Huperzia squarrosa. I am particularly impressed by his cactus and succulents, especially considering the extra challenge the London climate presents to their culture. Every one is a choice variety and also well grown. I put Deamia testudo on my wish list. I wonder if Jamie’s Sparrmannia flowers for him?

Jamie has light shades and pillows that have plants on them which I thought was really cool, now I think he should get a pillow that's got the balance scale like in the window and on one side it should say elegance and on the other comfortable nonchalance. haha

A 15:32 can't believe that's growing on the wall there, amazing. That's a lot of time watering all of those plants. It's the perfect place for plants; a converted warehouse/factory situation and the fact that it has a ginormous skylight.
