I can tell you are a genuinely kind human and I am here for it. I hope the universe blesses you in every way for it. You deserve to have your channel blow up. I'm glad I'm here to witness it. ❤ love from the US.
Thank you, Sean for boosting my confidence by sharing your caretips. I'm quite new to your channel and am learning much from you. You're right, we have to study the plants under our care for them to grow happy! Thanks much!
It's really great to find a plant youtuber from fellow indonesian. I am looking forward for some plant care tips from you, definitely subscribed! I found some tips from western plant youtubers aren't really necessary applied here. Even some tips could end up killing my plants. So I hope I can relate more to your channel! Thank you for posting videos!
I’m stunned at how much you water your mother in law!!! Seriously, mine is huge, and it gets water only 4 times a year! Yes, once every 3 months. I also live in a very dry climate. When you say you over water, that’s an understatement!
Love your vidoes, especially how you "geek" out about the plants which i can relate too. Really appreciate your knowledge and the intetesting way you present. Your passion is evident.
Such a beautiful place, beautiful plants and a very nice person. I am really like to watch your videos, learning new things and new plants. Everyday I watch some of your videos and it makes me happy, I really like to see people who fall in love with plants.
The one that you showed as hoya crimson princess is actually the hoya crimson queen! The princess has variegation on inside and the queen has variegation on the outside. This is something I learned recently. Love the video!
Thank you so much for sharing about your plant and your plant care. Been finding information and tips from western blog or youtuber which mostly didn't help at all for Indonesian. I've massacred my plants following them. Absolutely a lifesaver or should I say plantsaver. Keep going, man! Love your stuff!
the first time i watched this i had to pause mid video to order myself a burle-marx philodendron! had her for a few weeks now and i'm in love. thanks for the recommend!
I agree. I probably over water but I check out my plants every day. Phlebodium blue star has grown very long long leaves. When I bought it I was sure it would die as it was just tiny skinny stalks. Not now. Seems to like water
I’ve had a fire flash aka mandarin spider plant that has magically stayed alive despite my frequent neglect for over 15 years. Highly recommend for mid-light if you can find it. I’m in PNW USA.
Nice. I recommend to put it in a slightly brighter area on the day that you water it. Just to freshen it up. You can then stick it back in its darker spot :)
I am happy I found you! I may also start you tube, and it's refreshing to see that there is still space for new channels to be found! Loving all the plants and now I have inspo for potting up my own plants!
I’m obsessed with my pothos, vining philodendrons, and scindapsus pictus. I live in a basement with only 4 small windows and they are growing. I also have a monstera deliciosa that is slightly out of control lol
Look at you! I'm loving your channel your character those low key comments kill me. The best plant person to watch IMO and I love the music you make! I can literally watch you while I work. But then I rewatch to catch the comments on screen😂
Good morning 🌞 I love your collection of plants they are amazing health well I am living in Montego Bay Jamaica and I those see some of these plants on I enjoyed your video and look to see more of your videos
Thank you so much for your informative video. I learnt a lot from it. Will certainly help prevent a lot of plant deaths. Keep on making contents you love. 😀😎👍🏻
Guttation - loss of water as a liquid, transpiration - loss of water as water vapor. Both processes take place through the leaves but the water droplets at the tip of leaves is guttation. Good information and your collection looks beautiful and healthy.
Great video!! the only thing I would add, since you are directing this to "new plant parents," is that some plants are toxic to pets. I've just started getting indoor plants, but I also have 3 cats, so I need to be very aware of plants that would poison them if they were able to access them. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!!!
The right spelling is Rhaphidophora. (Could correct it so ppl searching for R.T tips can find this video!! ) hello from Malaysian in Singapore :) great to see this channel from fellow Asian as I’ve been following western plant RUclipsrs only so far. Keep it up!!!!
I really loved this video, such a different and modern touch to everything! Subscribed to your channel. Please make a video about Alocasias, I just got one this week and am learning that when you overwater them they sweat or drip! So fascinating
I just made a video on watering, and cover the sweating in details :) I must admit that i have not mastered alocasias yes but will do once I get the hang of it! Thanks for subscribing!
Regarding the sweating/dripping, I’ve found that when I thoroughly water they drip, only because transpiration increases. As long as I don’t do it too often my plants are happy :)
I have never commented on anything . I had to on you! I just love you! Your knowledge of plants inspires me. I am a horticulturist. I own a flower shop in South Carolina USA. I enjoy seeing all the plants in your collection and at the plant nurseries that you visit. A lot of the plants that you show we sell at my flower shop. I love any plant that's different that I haven't seen before. Thank you for doing what you do. If you want any seeds or cuttings that I may have let me know. Hope they will allow me to ship to you. Thanks again, Robert
Whoaaaaa thank you Robert, I appreciate the comment. And coming from someone working in the industry this means even more. I hope your business is doing alright and stay safe! 😌🙏🏽
Its now a new religion, i watch ur vlogs at breakfast, after watering my plants🤗 im curious how to care for ferns. I had bought several times and always dies on me. Previously i had it in its original potting which was mainly cocohusk. So i tried supplementing with cocopeat filled potting mix just to make sure it retains more moisture. And thrived in my kitchen wall until it was jumped on by either a cat or rat and slowly died when no new leaves grew. Next i bought another which was planted on clay soil mixed with rice husk. So i thought to place it straight in a pot no soil changing and placed it under the same light exposure as the previous but with more chances of moist as its near the sink. But the stick like stalks got chipped. Leaves were all alright. So i decided to place it instead in a terraria (an unused fiah tank) right at the window with the sandy coco peat and compost packed potting mix. Its been growing in length but not as bushy as yours. I hope to see videos of yours focused on ferns. 😉
Hello One of my first few videos is a care and propagation of a fern, which applies to most ferns so do check that out. But heres a summary: - some direct sunlight - water daily, never let it dry out - I use my general purpose potting mix on all my ferns - fertilize lightly Hope this helps!
Sean, it's been great to see your videos and to watch you as you start out in this world on RUclips. I want to wish you the best of luck in this endeavor. Being in Indonesia (and lucky you speak multiple languages) you are blessed by a climate conducive to growing so many plants. Having lots of humidity can be handled with growing media for plants that don't like all that much around their roots and a good schedule of watering is also a benefit. Here, where I live, the humidity is about 5-10% all the time. We have 300 days of sun a year and summers days in the low 40s C (over 105F) . Winters can be cold and it is not unknown to have a few nights with freezing outdoor temperatures. SO, it would be fair for me to be very envious of your growing conditions. I was quite surprised in the video where you visited a nursery because (and thank you) you put local prices for many plants. My surprise came from the cost. It was much higher than I had expected. Of course, rare plants do command a high price but some of the others were a shock. As you can guess, I've been around the block a few times and over my life I've lived in several growing zones. Each was a challenge and I was never disappointed in my meeting this challenge. Over my life I've had collections of cacti and succulents, orchids, bromeliads and African Violets. I usually choose the hardest thing to grown in my environment and see how I can do. So far, so good. I wish I could write to you privately but I know that a RUclipsr would be soon swamped with personal emails to reply to so I'll not ask. Just wanted you to know that I like your style (although I'm not sure everyone will go for your swear words - I don't mind!!!) and your honesty and openness. You are a refreshing plant person on RUclips and I have watched a lot especially during the pandemic because I've been locked down for about 5 months now. (Yes, as you can imagine from that, I live in a place that is a SUPER Hot Spot. I console myself with my online work and my plants and with watching people, like you, full of energy and enthusiasm on RUclips. I want to wish you the best of luck. If I may give you some suggestions, please don't forget to include plants that are in ordinary folks homes there in Indonesia, botanical gardens and simply showcase your beautiful country through plants. I fear that we other non-Asian parts of the world are not very knowledgeable in general about Indonesia and especially our passion: plants and specifically house plants. You're doing a great job and I expect to learn a lot from you and have fun with your videos where you put little notes on the screen like "awkward" or "didn't get that right" at times. As Oscar Wilde said, "Be yourself. Everyone else is taken!" Good luck. Keep safe in this crazy world.
Harry T. Joko Jennings wow thank you so much for sharing your experiences, insights and suggestions. I loved reading every line. I started this channel because I learnt plant care from google, other youtubers, as well as local plant growers, and want to pass the knowledge along in a way that is... easy to understand and entertaining. I have a lot of creative content ideas in my head and I cant wait to see them come true. Please stay tuned and keep in touch! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Great information! Glad your channel popped up in my recommended channels. I had trouble with begonias too until I bought a tiny begonia rex which is growing very well for me so far.
I am new to plants as hobby for relaxation. I’ve always had Monstera and Philodendrons but I’ve gone from 3 plants to 15 in 3 months of Covid season. I love this video. Your facts are very down to earth. You are so relatable. And can I say “Your pots are so wonderful!”. You can do a video on pots and your pot selection. I’d watch!!! Subscribing now.
Wow thank youuu. I hope your collection grows. Do try out one of each species! I want to do pots and styling video at some point thanks for letting me know someones interested in that topic!
onlyplants Yes, I have a Peperomia Hope, Pilea, Staghorn fern, button leaf fern (dying, leave to professionals), spider plant, string of hearts, Ivy, African mask, scindapsus pictus, crimson queen Hoya, Hoya oblivata (sp) and mother in law tongue. I started with small 4 inch pot purchases for hard to find plants. I’ve gone a bit crazy. I’m not going to purchase anymore plants!!! I’m going to master these with help from RUclipsrs like you with relatable content and easy delivery of that content. Thanks!!
I dont put them there because they all live outside. Im juggling between 2 businesses, 500+ plants, and 1 new youtube channel haha. I basically hose them down daily when they are outside so the care is much more simple. However they can live in the spot that they are placed in the video if I had time to water them one by one at the sink. 😊
I love your channel, it's just now that I discovered it, YT recommended your channel because I also love plants. I am learn g a lot from you. Hopefully, I could add more indoor plants here. We have a desert garden here in Saudi.
xhellothisisme thank you for the input, I am still figuring out the audio haha. I think its my speaking audio thats a bit soft... because when Im on other youtubers pages their voices sound more loud and clear.
onlyplants I honestly didn’t notice any music. I believe that some people do have noise sensitivity and they can’t isolate as well as others. Hopefully your will find that sweet spot.
Another great video👌, you explained it very well and so true, based on my experience. I have 8 of the plants you showed and I would love to get the 8 rest of it (expensive in my area)😍. Your scindapsus is so dark green I love it😍😍😍, it's not same as exotica that's is lighter color and has a lot of silver. My Boston ferns keep shedding leaves indoors (poor lighting) so I plant it outside and it spread as ground cover👌.
Thank you for all the videos you made. I watched them all lol I recently become a plants parent. I love plants but I’m very careful not to grow anything that have bugs.
All plant pests do not harm us at all, and you’ll find that they are usually manageable if you check on your plants now and then before it gets too bad. I used to be squeamish around bugs but lately I find myself able to touch them.
For orchids... medium-bright indirect light, never give them soil, only charcoal chunks or leca balls. Water daily. Outdoors or good airflow required. Fertilize frequently if you want blooms!
Lovely collection. I was afraid of begonias also but found them so so easy. The only other thing I can say is on the peace lily. So glad you had that on here, but I found that its flowering has to deal with the amount of light you give them. It is tolerant of low light but med-high indirect light is it's preference.
Samantha Funes that peace lily grown in a spotlight actually flowered! Haha. It could be the fertilizer too... or perhaps that spotlight gave more light than we give it credit for 😅
Your collection is really amazing, thank you so much for sharing your plant journey with us. Love your channel, you've got a new suscriber from France 🙂 Wish you the best !
Best way to start the morning is with a chill talk about plants

I don't need this information, but I watched anyways and stayed for the awkwardness, please don't lose it too soon!

Very beautiful green plants
I was wondering why my monstera was weeping, now I know! Over watering. So glad you mentioned this, Thanks.
Awww... good luck! Give it more light too sometimes thats a sign of insufficient light.

Guttation - loss of water as a liquid, transpiration - loss of water as water vapor. Both processes take place through the leaves but the water droplets at the tip of leaves is guttation. Good information and your collection looks beautiful and healthy.

I love your Videos so far!
I am looking forward to see more
I think the music in the background is a little bit to loud.
❤️
xhellothisisme thank you for the input, I am still figuring out the audio haha.
Nice. Ferns are such fast growers right!
You share a very beautiful smile flowers gerden 😀
Thank youu 😘

Thank you for all the videos you made. I watched them all lol
I recently become a plants parent. I love plants but I’m very careful not to grow anything that have bugs.
All plant pests do not harm us at all, and you’ll find that they are usually manageable if you check on your plants now and then before it gets too bad. I used to be squeamish around bugs but lately I find myself able to touch them.
멋져요 Beautiful plants
Your plans are all fresh and healthy.
😁👍👍🌷🌱
풀리파리 Green leaves thank you!
I feel for you, I want so much to do a You tune video and I am feeling you, and am proud of you 👍
Thank you so much! 🙈
I was definitely sweating when u brought out the orchid. Love them but swore that I won’t kill anymore.
For orchids... medium-bright indirect light, never give them soil, only charcoal chunks or leca balls. Water daily. Outdoors or good airflow required. Fertilize frequently if you want blooms!
Very nice video thank you! I'm all about the Aroids! 🙌
Haha you’re welcome. Lots of aroid contents to come!
I love that you call them companions :)
🤓
Lovely collection. I was afraid of begonias also but found them so so easy. The only other thing I can say is on the peace lily. So glad you had that on here, but I found that its flowering has to deal with the amount of light you give them. It is tolerant of low light but med-high indirect light is it's preference.
Samantha Funes that peace lily grown in a spotlight actually flowered! Haha. It could be the fertilizer too... or perhaps that spotlight gave more light than we give it credit for 😅
Just saw your channel... welcome 😁... nice selection, thanks for the info. 😊
