I just purchased a Thai Constellation. My monsteras are my most thriving plants in my home & I felt I’ve learned enough to care for this delicate variation. I’ve watched your videos for years and I’m so excited to care for my brand new baby.
Thank you. Good luck with it! In my experience, the Thai constellation is the slowest growing of the variegated monsteras. Let me know if you have a different outcome/experience! 💌
I really appreciate content makers /plant enthusiast like you who bring facts on prices of plants and how overhyped they are and eventually how they’ll lose its value over time when supply increases.
I really held on to your advice. I have always wanted to get a thai cons but a year ago when I saw your video, it was still up on the 5 digit range. I waited it out and after a year, it is now down on the 3 digit range in my area. I am so happy to pick up my new baby today without breaking the bank. Thank you shawn for your realistic advice. 🥰
I bought a cutting of green monstera in April and it’s thriving. Your advice regarding learning on the green version is terrific. It’s a beautiful and rewarding plant and I am confident that I will be successful with the variegated form one day. This video brought me a lot of joy 🌿💚
Thank you so much. When its time to propagate and share your green monstera. You will learn so much about the plant when you propagate them. I have a monstera named Celia and Ive shared over 10 cuttings from her to friends and family in just 2 years.
Excellent video! I have wanted an Albo but just cannot afford. But my hubby bought me a baby Thai fairly recently because he knew I wouldn’t buy it and so far so good. I repotted her up in PAFCAL that I added perlite and osmocote to the mix and she has put out one new leaf and has another one forming! I’m so scared of root rot from what I have studied. I have her in a clear pot so I can keep watch. I wish more people were like you and would share leaves. I asked to even buy a cutting of an albo from a local business lady who found her Albo on the side of the road. Someone had discarded it as trash! It’s so huge that it has flowered and gave fruit! I offered $200 in a moment of weakness and I guess I’m thankful she declined. But as for me, I give cuttings of more expensive plants away. I want people to enjoy them. Different strokes for different folks. Thanks for the video. Very informative.
Thank you for such kind generosity in sharing your knowledge, insight & process. I am a beginner indoor plant enthusiast and this episode has taught me so so much !!!! Thanks again for all your teachings!
I was going to order an expensive small stem cutting from Etsy (about 3 inches long). But the stem was all green with no variegation running through it. I actually didn’t have a good feeling about purchasing the stem because no variegation was present, and I didn’t want to end up with a regular monstera plant. I search and search for information regarding the possibility of a green stem producing variegated leaves even though the seller stated that it was cut from a full grown variegated monstera plant. I wasn’t able to find the information that I was looking for until I came across your RUclips channel. You answered my question, plus educated me on so much more! I’ve decided not to purchase the stem cutting. Thank you for this informative video. The best to you, - Allie
One of my mum’s friend gave my a cutting of one of her delicious monstera. I got it yesterday (hasn’t rooted) and I can’t wait til it roots and starts growing leaves. Now I want a collection of it lol
omg love your energy and stance on plants! Just got a variegated monstera cutting, but I've had regular mostera before so I feel confident for my first variegated
Sean: I so appreciate your videos. I have learned so much about plants and my love for making more plants for others. I especially like how you show us the results in the same video. Keep up the great work!
Not gonna discredit the other RUclipsrs but I’ll follow your page as Singapore’s climate is similar to Indonesia and I’m noob with plants. I’ll start with the regular monstera once I get my apartment as the living room window is south facing. I’m excited :) thanks for sharing a lot of great knowledge.
I just bought a Thai Con yesterday. I’ve never even seen one in my locally owned nursery. Said they only get them in stock once a year or so. It was VERY affordable compared to other prices on the internet. My other monsteras are thriving so I figured I could take care of this one and make that investment.
It’s really cute. It’s got a new lead about to unroll and the one before it has some little fenestrations. When I say it was affordable, I mean it was $90 US but other 6” pots online are listed for $250.
You mentioned moss poles, but the one at 18:00 looks like it’s made from coco coir (as opposed to the one at 19:30 which looks like sphagnum moss). In your experience, do they function the same way? I’ve noticed that roots can’t get inside the coco coir pole like they can with the moss. Does it matter? Are plants only looking to latch onto something and climb, or are they looking to insert roots into medium?
Thank you SO much for making this video. You answered all of my questions and more! You explain things so they are easily understood. I appreciate you so much🤍

You mentioned a video on soil mixes that you do. However, I’m having trouble finding it. Perhaps you could put a link in your description of this video?
What if your monstera delosia the roots are coming out of the soil but nothing for nodules at all. When you repot it’s way over Time. It’s a 10” pot want to put in 12 inch pot do I cover root that are on the top moving it to
Yes you can cover those air roots they will turn into soil roots :) the roots behind each nodes do take time to grow, faster if you have higher humidity
You have to tie it to the pole so it kisses it, or even grows into the pole. If you have high humidity it should root itself into the pole. If you have low humidity I would mist that pole many times a day to encourage roots to grow into it. But do not mist the leaves ya.

I believe one of those cuttings had my name on it. Seriously though, at 65 yrs old, I've come to the conclusion that I will not be able to own one in my lifetime. Its luck 😛 but half moon leaves are actually bad news… they have a chance of reverting to all green or turn into all variegated

Yes you can cover those air roots they will turn into soil roots :) the roots behind each nodes do take time to grow, faster if you have higher humidity
How do you get the aerial roots to root into the moss poll mine don’t wanna ever
You have to tie it to the pole so it kisses it, or even grows into the pole. If you have high humidity it should root itself into the pole. If you have low humidity I would mist that pole many times a day to encourage roots to grow into it. But do not mist the leaves ya.
