    Of course there is no shortage. On GMC website you can see there are about 375k registered doctors and the population of UK is about 66M
    Do you think that 375k doctors are enough for 66M ?

    There is actually no shortage of doctors here, there is a surplus of doctors and a shortage of training posts.

    Hi Dr Abhinav Kumar, sorry to hear of your plight. Had you been a doctor from Pakistan they have a quota called International Training fellows who don't have to give PLAB, MRCP or MRCS to get a job. That's whom the jobs are going to. Good luck.

    Hello Dr Abhinav. Very imformative video.
    Sorry , but I have a question on visa application which i hope you could help me with. Thanks in advance,
    I am am an F2 doctor working in the UK. I am from Malaysia. My contract expires on Aug 6th 2024. I recently got an offer as a clinical assistant at another nhs trust starting in Sept 7th 2024. My visa expires on Aug 15.
    So there is a 3 week gap between the expiry and the new start date.
    Will Homeoffice issue me with a visa with a start date from the date of expiry Aug 15th? Or will i have to go back to my home country to reapply for a new visa.
    Also if i were to apply for a new visa in the UK, do i have to travel to the vfs office in the London, UK to submit my biometric data?
    Thank you very much in advance for your assistance.

    • @drAbhinavKr
      @drAbhinavKr  Год назад +1

      Ah yes. It def helps in a surgical line. Problem is that MRCS part A doesn't have any clinical bit. So wouldn't help in preparing you for interview where questions would be like... first line management in a post surgical patient with such and such complications... Etc
      As for SHO role, it def helps to show you're committed to surgery if you have MRCS

      Depends on the speciality really. Tough ones will be tough to get regardless. You can always start at a lower rank and work the whole way up. I know an Indian MS gynaecology who restarted her journey from F2. And I know doctors who came via other routes to continue in a higher speciality post.
      Also, plab route is not available for those with more than 18 months of post graduate surgical experience
