@@farihaharrison7299 It will definitely be available. Developed countries are always in need of doctors, especially family medicine specialists, or what is called in UK a general practitioner.
In any case, there are ways and exams to Australia, and the salaries there are high and equal, compared even to the Arab Gulf countries and Canada.
I do not give advice, but if I were you, I would start preparing for plab and obtaining experience in the United Kingdom for at least a year before going to Australia. I think this method is still possible, and in the worst case, you can continue in the United Kingdom until completing the training, whether for family medicine or internal medicine. And it is the least competitive

I took AMC in 2014 but didn’t make it to pass the exam. Then chose another pathways and did my Masters in one of the Australian universities. Now working as clinical Embryologist in one of the fertility clinics. But has been 10 years since I last practiced as GP. Would this affect my chance of registering in Australia even if I pass the AMC?

  • @marsgroup6008
    @marsgroup6008 10 часов назад

I am comparing plab vs amc cost as pakistani aspirant (correct me if i am wrong)
    AMC Pathway
    Document verification 600aud
    Amc 1 3000aud
Amc 2 3200aud (assuming online test)
    Total 6800aud
As there are no amc 1 center in pakistan so going to turkey or thailand will cost about 2 3 lakh pkr(assuming 3 days trip)
    Total in pkr about 15lakh
    PLAB Pathway
    Plab1 247
    Plab 2 1000 pounds
As plab 2 is taking place only on manchester so ome month trip for plab 2 will cost about
    Accomadation 800
    Food/internet/phone 500
    Return seat about 1000pounds
    Miscellaneous 200pounds
Total about 13 to 14 lakh pkr
English test is not included as it is compulsory for both pathways
So both amc and plab cost about same in amc pathway you get edge if you get job just after amc1
Anyone who wants to correct me in this regard?

Thanks for the extremely informative video, Dr! You gave us the conclusion based on work experience, why so? Why's it not recommended for a fresh graduate to take the AMC route?

    • @EmergencyFocus
      @EmergencyFocus  Год назад +5

A fresh graduate no matter for AMC or PLAB tend to spend more time looking for good jobs with adequate supervision level. Same case in for Aus or UK and mainly for 2 main reasons
      1. There will always be a biased from hospital trying to establish equivalence level for Year 1 RMO who has only completed 12 month intern work. Naturally Australian internship experience will be given a preference for good jobs. Any left over vacancy will be given to more experience overseas IMGs with 12months post internship experience in their home country.
      2. Most hospitals where jobs exist for IMGs are regional hospital that can provide Level 2 or above supervision and hence much more suited to IMG with 1-2 years of RMO level experience in their home countries
      3. I also find doctors with atleast 2year clinical experience have better professional attributes and clinical skills making them in demand

Hello sir. Your videos certainly boost UK doctors moral. Lol.
I am Pakistani IMG, A&E reg in Manchester, UK.
Given plab and 3 years experience. Also holds RCEM membership , cleared 2 parts and OSCE. I aware of competency pathway but do I still have to give AMC exam to enter in to the training program after 12-18 months time you mentioned.
I guess that is until you are permanent resident.
    Regards.

    • @EmergencyFocus

The rule of CAP did not come when i arrived in Australia .... I had a job offer & registration already, but to get general or full AMC registration it was required for me to do AMC exams, which I did. No regrets.

I am a medical graduate 🎓 from MiddleEast working in NHS England as a foundation Doctor.
I have family and PR in australia.
I have a very strong passion to be a Cardiologist .. if I go through the competent authority pathway, obtain full registration, and get BPT training.. Is Cardiology, a hard field for non Australian graduates.
