    Justin, you look so much more relaxed! Nailing the format ☺
    The two of you are great team. You could make it a quarterly thing.
    I watched Michael’s video on removing the old engraving! I’d say it was the second one of his I watched. Too funny.
    I could write paragraphs on how much the insight you both provide means to me and the laser community.
    Best of luck to both of you on your pivots! Yours can still be zen gardens!

    Great conversation guys - it’s so cool to hear stories from folks like you who have been in the laser game for 10+ years. I didn’t even know that laser engraving was a thing that could be done outside an industrial factory situation until about 2 years ago 😅 - thanks for the podcast. Cheers.

      @@justinlaser thanks! Glass is tricky with a diode, but after I figured out a process, it works pretty well. I stopped selling glass engravings on Etsy for now though, because I just know that anyone with a co2 laser could do them so much faster (I.e. cheaper). I’m getting a co2 laser this week though, so maybe I’ll start it up again sometime. Anyway, thanks for the reply.

    This was great I do mostly customer centric but I do have some products that compliment my primary business being a knife and tool sharpening service that also does laser engraving but this is such an important conversation and it's spot on. Funny I kind of do in between but mostly customer centric. I have learned a lot from both of you guys. I will say one downside to product based is stock. For example Richardson 112 hats are the most popular hats out there. But a lot of the colors are hard to find right now. Just a little example.

    Say the name. I get that RUclipsrs need to try and preserve their sponsorships but it drives me crazy that nobody will say anything bad about anything. Lots of laser channels losing credibility on this point, in my opinion.

    Just wondering if you can use cloth tape instead so it is a bit thicker for jigs?

    After listening to you both, I have started both types of businesses, customer and product. How profitable or manageable for new laser engraving business with a diode laser?

    • @justinlaser
      @justinlaser  Месяц назад +1

      With a diode I would focus on product-based. The are lots of limits to a diode laser especially when it comes to materials and the amount of time it takes to run jobs. Customer might want clear acrylic and that cant happen with a diode laser. However there are plenty of smaller and popular products that you can customize with a diode.
