  • In our first official episode of The Laser Dispatch Podcast I chat with Andy from AAC Enterprise. We discuss his laser engraving business, what kind of lasers he uses, how he markets his products, and reflect on his first official year in business.
Note: There are a few odd audio glitches I will make sure to fix in the future.

As someone who bought an xtool S1 with a dream of starting a side business to hopefully turn into a full time gig so I can leave my job soon in life…thank you so much for this conversation. I’m trying to stoke the flame on this dream as much as I can every single day.

Its very achievable. Ive been doing this for a pretty long time and have had months during those years where I had no flame. Even doing something small to move forward helps a lot.

Man, let me tell you - I have been soul searching for reinvigorating my side business for years at this point. I have been feeling really hopeless lately, thinking about selling my equipment and getting the situation off my plate all together but this interview is really getting my hopes up that I can get this business back off the ground after years of neglect. We've run it as a side business for years and years, but it's never had a chance to be a full business. I'm getting massively fed up at work and I have been daydreaming for months about just quitting and working for myself but I am stuck on where to start, how to get customers and how to find my niche.
Tons and tons of great information in this video. Practical discussion between people who are on the ground doing the work themselves. I really appreciate this and I think you're bang on that Andy was the perfect first guest on this podcast.

Are you me? I've been daydreaming myself into self employment for way too long.

The dreaming is a good motivator. What sells best for the side business? Might just want to triple down on the best performer and see how far that takes you until you have to add more.

I did the same. It comes with its own stressors thats for sure but its rewarding.

Thank you, Justin Laser, for your content. I bought myself an Xtool M1 a few months ago after watching your videos, which inspired me to give it a try. Started myself a laser engraving business hoping to one day work for myself full time. Keep the content coming!

Enjoyed the interview...I have been thinking about engraving firearms but had no idea there would be FFL license and tons of tracking paperwork involved...Guess I was being a bit naive. My Braves are struggling, Just dropped three out of four to DC ...I know, no tears from Philly's fan..as it shoutd be...Keep the interviews coming And Goooo Braves...

Haha you guys are down 2 of your best players so understandable on that front! Yeah I avoid the weapons stuff altogether so I dont have to think about it. Especially living in a state like NJ I cant imagine they are lenient.

Lol. Its so much better not having to talk the whole time.

Great interview! Lots of information. Do you have to have a FFL license to engrave on a firearm only?

    • @dangkolache
      @dangkolache Месяц назад +2

He goes over it later in the video but if you are retaining the firearm (the part with the serial, usually the frame or the lower) then you need an FFL. If the owner stays with you and the firearm the entire time, you do not need an FFL

If the firearm is engraved, does it have to be reported to the gov't?

I wouldn’t have thought that Rhomark would be durable enough for vehicles data plates.

It works very good just make sure you use the outdoor versions and go a little deeper than normal. This will make sure the information is still there if the top color gets scratched.

I'm too old to know any other way. Face to Face also lets me look around and see what other options I can tell them about.
