The $400 price is actually impressive considering it will be the only phone at that price point that has wireless charging (if that price is true).
Will be the fastest handset for 400 that won't be able to take use of that power. I have a pro Max and the power is overkill. There aren't even any games that comes close to maxing it out.
Perhaps it will not have it to make tha price level. I personally do not need that. Reverse charging is more useful.

Yes, I still have my iPhone 5s in my pocket daily. I'm interested in a similar style in a larger format (which would make typing easier) so I will keep an eye on this iPhone 9.

A lot of people in Asia are happy about that. In areas where you wear a face mask due to pollution or... the *coronavirus* sometimes FaceID doesn't work... unless you've added an alternative appearance. That being said, in-screen fingerprint sensors are coming along and pretty good.

Actually if apple came up with a new iPhone that brought back 3d touch, fingerprint reader and a headphone jack I'd be over the moon. I couldn't care less about water resistance or wireless charging. I hate face id, i much prefer the fingerprint reader.

There are a lot of older people who need a physical home button, as they have a difficult time with gestures. My parents are in their 80’s and need to upgrade their older phones and it would be great for them to get a new, less expensive, iPhone that is like their older one, that they’re used to.

A $400 iPhone with flagship internals should sell like crazy. There are a lot of people still on 6, 6S and 7. They’re not techies and will want to upgrade to a familiar form. And there are folks with oldAndroid phones that can’t afford flagships, but this gives flagship internal specs. They’ll sell TONS!

We have to consider that Samsung not only has their main line up like the S series, they have affordable phones from low-medium class to all the way to premium class. Rounding from $120-$1400 dollars (including the next S20 Ultra) which makes Samsung a better marketing strategy with different types of models. Obviously the top tier models will be more expensive but it includes the latest on Technology

@@vasco35 The main reason I decided to switch from 6 s to 11 now is the battery, the battery on my 6 s was unbearable.. so I feel your pain lol.. but I wouldn't worry cause my Iphone 11 has amazing battery, it easily lasts through whole day of heavy usage, 12 will probably be even better.

The term you're looking for is 'Value'. The Pixel 3A jarred the market big time last year, so much so even the most hard headed manufacturers had to take notice. Roll forward to 2020 and two of the most interesting and hype inducing phones are the Pixel 4a and OnePlus 8 Lite, as well as the continued success of the Samsung A series. Apple couldn't be left behind, so they recycled the iPhone 8, upgraded it's specs, and re-branded it the iPhone 9 to try and not be left behind. There will always be a market for flagship phones, though it is shrinking. The future is moving quickly toward 'value' when it comes to cellphone purchases. Manufacturers can either get on that bus or be run over by it.
I'm actually "upgrading" to the iphone 9 from s10 plus. I'm doing this because I miss iOS and iphone.
Do yourself a favor and wait for the iPhone 12; it’ll be a major downgrade to the iPhone 9.
