Red Dead Redemption but with Erron Black
The Red Dead Redemption styled game with Erron Black was something I'd have loved to see since MKX. Could explore his background with how he got immortality from Shang Tsung like in his MKX ending, which strangely was never referenced in MK11 intro dialogue between the two. Set it in the Wild West on Earthrealm and switch between that and the deserts of Outworld.
I do like the erron black one. Do bounties and search for the characters in different worlds. Team up with others, etc. would be a fun open world concept just like deception but with a different twist

Remake and then part 2, best way to do it IMO.
I'd love an open world (worlds being multiple realms) quest heavy Mortal Kombat RPG in the style of Shaolin Monks, ideally with character creation that lets you ick a race like human (Earthrealmer, Outworlder, Edenian, Chaosrealmer, Seidan, Revenant), tarkatan, zaterran, shokan, vampire, demon, etc. Also imagine being able to customize your character's fighting style, choose weapons, magic, etc. Though I imagine it would be too good to be true and if they did that it'd be microtransaction hell and live service.

The template for what longtime Mortal Kombat fans really want exists in Shaolin Monks. That game was a refreshing break from the fighting game genre with fun action and adventure mechanics. Oh it would be so sweet if Boon and Tobias reunited!
What if Shaolin Monks 2 gets it's own Konquest mode.. 😮 Oh hell yes with a mixture of all three from Deadly Alliance to Armageddon..

I did seen a leak on 4chan a few weeks ago that mention a new single player mode that was gonna be more of an action adventure... that leak also mentioned a horror pack. Obviously it could all be fake but I really hope it's true

This sounds more like a response to World Tour and SF6 taking MK fans, not so much a green light for an adventure game. They know MK1 failed next to SF6 so now they’re the ones responding.
Also, Tobias doing an adventure game would be a Mythologies throwback, not Shaolin Monks.

A cool idea for this potential MK adventure game, could be Scorpion and Smoke building up the shirai ryu. That could be part of the plot points for MK 1's expansion or MK 2. Either way, playing as Scorpion or Smoke or both, recruiting new members into the shirai ryu, maybe fighting the Lin Quei, Black Dragon, or Red Dragon.
I will gladly take a konquest mode game along with character maker cause I think that way people will feel like the missions they go on and how they interact with the NPCs will matter.
They already got action adventure super hero games we need a new mk adventure game it will only work if they make an mk adventure game

Imagine a sequel to Sub Zero: Mythologies, but it takes place during the (original) timeline of MK2 - MK3.
Bi Han is murdered post MK1… The Lin Kuei is experimenting with robotics / cyber ninjas and is slowly turning everyone into cyborgs.
Kuai Liang and Smoke refuse to participate and decide to escape the Lin Kuei. On the night that they make their escape, they get ambushed… Smoke gets captured while Kuai Liang manages to escape to America.
There, he drops his Lin Kuei appearance for his MK3 look.
The game is essentially a retelling of the MK3 storyline, with the mostly US backdrops.
As Sub Zero, you have to thwart an imminent invasion by Shao Kahn and at the same time, deal with the Lin Kuei, who are sending cyborgs (Sektor and Cyrax) to kill him.
The final boss will be Sub Zero’s old friend, Cyber Smoke.
Hiding in the background is Scorpion, who has his own agenda and appears as both an enemy and ally, depending on your in game choices.
The game will be called Mortal Kombat: Kold Furies.
Sub-Zero would see Sonya looking for captured Jax. Jax would then see Smoke captured as well. Later, sub-zero would see Liu Kang and Kitana as a team after those two went their separate ways with Sonya and Stryker. Liu Kang would be with Kitana being encountered by Scorpion at the subway in a fight scene similar to MK: Annihilation but improved and longer. Then Sub-zero goes with Liu Kang and Kitana again and he encounters Cyrax, Smoke, and Sektor at Jade’s desert. But Cyrax is in a quick sand after Jade defeated them with Sub-Zero and Liu Kang. They tried to help Cyrax out and he survived and told them the coordinates to Shao Khan’s fortress. Sub-zero would fight in hell for the final battle kind of like Revenge of the Sith with Scorpion and they form an alliance and fight Shao Kahn and then later Quan Chi (who later revealed it was he who killed Scorpion’s family and clan). Sonya, Jax, and Stryker would take a subway to travel all the way to the bank to get some money and look at the view and see Shao Kahn’s fortress. They were going to the roof by helicopter but it was destroyed by Kano, Sheeva, Reptile and Quan Chi. Sub-zero shows up again to fight the three to fight Kano, Quan Chi, Sheeva and Reptile. Then after the fight, Sub Zero goes to the bridge with the trio and Stryker normally traffics the streets and the bridge in front of the bank. Over at the bell tower is where they see the graveyard and the temple. Cyber Smoke appears as the final boss and that’s when the Shao Khan and Motaro fight begin.
Imagine they randomly set it in a more traditional MK Universe (like what Onslaught is doing) or any of the classic settings like SM did to MK2's storyline.
Since the leaker said mode initially, ideally this could replace Invasions I guess.

Hopefully this will be a Shaolin Monks type gam and turn out to be far better than MK 1. Little to no microtransactions, no boring game mode like Invasions, fan favorite characters in it like Onaga, Meat, Drahmin, Moloch, Hotaru and more in it
And hopefully it doesn’t get released rushed and unfinished like MK 1

This would be amazing. I just hope it’s not a single player game. It needs an rpg coop story and very fleshed out combat for a competitive versus mode. As someone who prefers MK rpg (Konquest mode made me fall in love with MK) than 2D fighting. The 2D fans have been eating to good for this past decade and I’m so jealous of them. I really do hope they announce a Klassic remake for OG MK 1-3 like capcom just did.

I think the issue with the studio is that they tried to start keeping up and following trends instead of continuing to do their own thing. The MK universe should be a lot bigger and a lot more explored by now.
About time! Hope it's Mk! Considering we the FANS have been yelling for this Pre release! Just to add, is this going to be Complete New title and Not an addition for the lack laster mk1? I'm hoping it's an update to the Current game and Not a whole new game? With how mk1 is being treated can't help but to keep expectations Lower than Low! No hate, hopefully developers have cleared their Wax full ears and finally giving the fans a reason to believe again! Time will tell!
If this becomes a thing, then this would be incredible. A Shaolin Monks 2 is long overdue. I also wouldn’t mind an Injustice one but I’d rather see one in the MK universe
I'd love a prequel story featuring the great Kung Lao as the main character
And do a game version story of MK Konquest and even have Taja and Siro as allies. Raiden would be involved but you would also see more of Reptile, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Kitana, Jade, Mileena, Shang Tsung, Noob Saibot, Quan Chi, Rain, Reiko, and Shao Kahn. The story can even show more of the plot synopsis of MK3 when Shao Kahn was with Sindel and even the plot hypnosis of MK2. The game would have an open world similar to Deception and Armageddon but improved and have chapters similar to MK Vs DC, MK9, MKX, and MK11. And players can choose which character and see their point of view and have alternate endings. Kristanna Loken should reprise her role as Taja. Classic MK music should appear along with having some techno involved and all classic MK stages. And the very end of the game leads up to OG MK1 (1992).

I feel like if they wanted to do a character they havent put in previous spinoffs, a kotal rpg would be great. you could have his father be killed by someone like shao and the game becomes kotals realm crossing vengeance quest. you could also have some neat sidequests that kinda showcose some of the canon arcade endings like kenshi and jax fighting the yakuza. it would offer a lot to further fleshing out this new era and there could be a lot of lore added
With the multiverse in play you could have this Kotal actually kill Shao and bring peace

It should be played like Mythologies Sub-Zero but improved and have some Shaolin Monks gameplay as well. And even have Scorpion fight Quan Chi after Sub-zero tells scorpion that he didn’t kill his family. Maybe even go to living forest, wasteland, Lin Kuei temple, the temple, and the temple and dead pool. The pits 1-2 should return.

I wish we could have an open-world action RPG set in MK world, where you create a character, choose their race, gender and faction and travel through 6 realms, doing quests, fighting enemies, meeting every single playable character ever (besides DC cast, Geras and Kronika, even though Geras and Kronika could make a cameo in special arena mode where they summon your previously created characters to fight your current one). Just imagine playing as an Edenian knight, fighting alongside Kitana against Shao Kahn himself. Or playing as Seidan guard and facing Darrius in a skirmish amidst flying pyramids of Seido. Or playing as a Black Dragon merc and helping Kano escape while facing Jax. Or playing as a Vaeternian and simply chilling in realms. Imagine becoming Elder Gods' Champion and taking on Shinnok with other Elite warriors in golden armor. Now that would be a neat idea
Maybe we can see the first ever Mortal Kombat tournament, with Great KUng Lao and others, mayve get like some of the people in Mortal Kobat Conquest movie like Siro, Taja etc? ... It would be amazing....

I think they filled all they could within conquest mode and Shaolin monks and SHAOLIN MNKS did exactly what it was supposed to be and with them letting us use Scorpion and Sub-0 after beating the game and letting us run thru the story mode with them and if I’m not mistaken either Johnny Cage, kitana, baraka, and reptile outta those 4 2 of them could also be used for story mode. I know for a fact versus had 8 characters but I think the story allowed atleast 4-6 if not than it was just 4 but that game changed my childhood outlook look at MK to the fullest and showing us something different that they were capable of doing and actually did it and made it not suck at all or nowhere near I hope NRS does go thru with it whether it’s the INJUSTICE OR MK series but having those characters in SHMKS kinda fulfilled the purpose of what they were trying to do and didn’t need to go further. Even tho they didn’t adjust the story to the characters used while completing the story they still focused on the characters moves and fighting techniques as well as specials and fatalities for each character in story mode…. PLEASE ED BOON you’ve guys listened for MK1 now give us something much deserved and have waited on and wished for in the past decade & 1/2 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼💯💯💯💯

It will probably be an always online avengers and s squad style game with a mk skin over it .soaked heavily in micro transactions . I have such low expectations from nrs they are not who they used to be walk around with there hand in your pocket
*IF* this is true and *IF* John Tobias is in charge of the writing/story, it'd be nice if he went back to the OG Mortal Kombat timeline (MK1 to Armageddon) and predominately ignored the other installments. At most cleverly working in other characters like Erron Black, Takeda, Kotal Kahn, and Geras for example.
I gave up on MK Shaolin Monks 2 or remaster highly doubt it and Injustice seeing how Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League died I'm not sure if people would get hyped for Injustice action adventure game. I think maybe and hopefully they make a new type game something different than just MK and Injustice because everyone hated MK11 and now MK1 so why keep making MK I'd try to make something different

So let me get this straight. Instead of fixing the absolute TRAIN WRECK that is the game they released less than a year ago, with its lack of game modes, lack of customization and a horrendous kameo system where only 2 characters in the main roster actually have complete move sets and the rest of the cast has to depend on kameos in order to get some kind of damage output, they just decided to throw it away and work on the next game? If this is true than I’m not buying whatever is releasing next from this studio. MK11 and Injustice 2 had twice more content despite both taking 2 years to develop instead of 4 years like MK1. Ridiculous…

If they make a monks 2 it will make money, if they make a fire and ice, it WILL MAKE MONEY!!! especially since it wouldnt only be fire in ice in the game but ketchup and mustard. Netherrealm is probably big enough to branch off into another studio and we could get a couple spin-offs. Instead of waiting every 2-4 years for the next Mortal Kombat/Injustice game. I'm all about this.
