I would honestly prefer to play Fire & Ice over another fighting game. Shaolin Monks was one of my favorite games
This was definitely one of my most valued PS2 games when I was a kid.
It's criminal to me how every parent company the MK developers have worked under has kept MK strictly to fighting games for 20 years now.
What a waste of an excellent franchise.

As much as I want to see MK2/13, I also want a MK Adventure Game that’s not Injustice as I can’t see how that Would Work, so either a Shaolin Monks Remake or Sequel would be Great in my Opinion.

How would that even work though? Unless they went back to the original first time line an show the events of kitana and mileena doing shao Khan side services. The timeline after that won't work. The new time line well might can pull it off.
I hope if it happens, we get Hanzo Hasashi as Scorpion and Kuai Liang as Sub-Zero. I absolutely hate Kuai Liang as Scorpion, he's the definitive Sub-Zero and Hanzo is Scorpion. They're the Goku and Vegeta of this franchise. I really do hope this game happens. It'd be awesome if it comes to light.
Side note: I hate when people say Kuai Liang took the mantle of Scorpion when Scorpion was never a mantle it was specifically given to Hanzo Hasashi and there was no Scorpion before him
Thank you. Someone with some sense. I honestly won’t even give this game the time of day if Hanzo isn’t Scorpion in it. That would be like making a new Robocop vs Terminator game with a version of Robocop that isn’t Alex Murphy.
Quan Chi gave Hasashi the title scorpion and that's been his alias ever since. Kaui Liang is Scorpion now so it doesn't matter what you think about the situation, especially when it was intended for Scorpion and Sub Zero to be brothers.
Nah Hanzo has always been scorpion.

I wouldn’t mind a Special Forces remake with Sonya and Jax. Make it more like the original idea ( there is a video showing the original concept) before it turned into the “ parody “ of the released game. Perhaps make it co-op action / shooter similar to “ Army of Two”.
shaolin monks was way ahead of its time. bringing it back is definitely the right move to keep the series fresh and alive.. fingers krossed we hear something more on it soon👌🏼

@@nicknight1728 under which circumstances I will do with said game exactly what I’ve done multiple time already with games I was initially excited about until I found out they had exclusively online gameplay: I will avoid buying it and use my hard-earned money elsewhere. That only online, no local playing options bullshit is exactly why I decided not to buy “Evil Dead,” “Texas Chainsaw,” and a handful of other games that would’ve earned a loyal and enthusiastic customer (and my money) if they’d respected their clientele enough to include worthwhile local gameplay options on the same qualitative level as the online options.

I would love this but i would rather they bring shaolin monks to modern systems first since there really isnt a way to play that game unless you have the old systems and while they are at it bring the 3d era collection over to modern systems as well would love to play those games on the switch.
Fire & Ice would go hard and it would go even harder if it features the classic OG characters at some point like Liu, Smoke, Kano, Sonya, Johnny, Jax, Goro, Noob Saibot, Shang Tsung, Kitana, Raiden, Mileena, Baraka, Kung Lao, and Reptile. Adding a few new characters would also be 🥶.
I am PRAYING for an Witcher 3 type MK adventure game. imagine playing as your favorite MK characters in a story similar to the Witcher 3 in an open world that you get to use their powers. I would love this to happen but I feel that the studio may never put in the time and effort to make a game like that…. Let’s hope just like the rest of the MK community

They should do an origin story game showing Shao Kahn’s rise from a sickly child to what he ends up being. That would be interesting…I bet it would be a dark, brutal story.

Since I was like 10, if I got my hands on a genie lamp my first wish would be to either remake or sequel MKSM. I’m just worried now that it’s been so long that if they jump right into a sequel it will be too different. I want the same control scheme,combo/special move system, fatalities, multalities and brutalities. Secret fighters. Of course some of it upgraded but I hope they don’t to an entirely new system. Upgrade and refinement would be better imo. Part of me thinks they should start with a remaster to make sure they have the right idea in their head

We definitely need a new action adventure game. Possibly a complete open world game with hacks and slashes. Sub and Scorp can definitely team up together or be against each other. Who would be the hero and villain in this type of game. Maybe Boon has a window of opportunity to create this game granted by the franchise. This would be a huge change of pace instead of just having fighting games. This would be Boons big break, unless Tobias is creating the imaginary world and story telling for Boon. Yeah, this can really help bring back players to Mortal Kombat. I hope that this ends up a true working project, with the 2 original creator back together again in a long time.

I’d hope it would play like shaolin monks but I imagine it would probably take more cues from modern god of war or devil may cry 5 both of which wouldn’t be a bad option especially if they kept the couch co-op
But Fire and Ice shaolin monks 2 might change the pace for other non fighting but more action audience.

I would like the fire and ice game I would pre-ordering the second it was announced if it does happen I think it will be cool is it like each character at their own story like how they did it in Injustice 2 like we're for each battle you get to pick between the two characters and like that scenario with play out cuz I do want more from the MK franchise like more the animated movies and more games

Still doesn’t change the fact that this game & 11 have done a big 💩 on the three decades old lore & the vast majority of fans don’t like it by reaction. So majority rules & the fact they’ve moved away from what made it one of the best stories in gaming that it no longer feels like mk so ur in the minority here champ, sorry to say.

I wouldn't hold my breath on it, everyone has been asking for a sequel or remaster to MK Shaolin Monks plus why would they make another MK game when literally the last two didn't even do that good because everyone hated MK11 and now MK1 when there not even that bad, I admit MK1 is lacky it needs more stuff added to it but NRS is just lazy and all their worried about is Evo and DLC?? I mean look what they did they took the Kombat Pack Characters and made them available within every other month instead of releasing them all together like they did back in MK9&MKXL, MK11 they kinda released them one at a time but it wasn't a long wait like MK1 DLC is. To be honest I think they should make a MK Racing Game like in the style of Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled or Jak X Combat Racing basically take Motor Kombat mini game mode and make it into a big racing game I'm telling you players would love it, there's alot of kart racing games out that everyone loves if player's don't like a MK style kart racing game then idk what to tell them besides at least they tried
