What's more sad and crazy to see is the numbers MK1 have at Evo are usually what numbers are for 2 year old fighting games hence KOF XV being there and in 8th place considering it came out in March 2 years ago. Now 3rd strike being 1 above 1100 is or at the very least close to top 5 is kinda expected considering how big of an impact it had and continues to have with EVO and the competitive side of fighting games
In my opinion, the best thing we as fans of the franchise can do, is not play and abandon MK1. No better way to show NRS that this is no the direction to take the series.

I think MK11 was amazing aesthetically. The roster wasnt even that bad. I just hated the gameplay. Having a game where its so slow, having the ability to use meter to drop out of combos among a few other minor gripes just made it not enjoyable to play.
Here's what I think, that NRS should do with MK13: - Scrap the kameo system! Maybe add a tag team as a mode just like MK9. - Bring back fighting mechanics like MKX and MK11! . Bring back stage interactions from MKX and 11! - Maybe consider bringing back the variations for each character. - Bring back The Krypt - Invasions mode had some interesting ideas, but failed. - Bring back the Towers of Time. - Bring back Sonya and Jax as fully playable characters! - Take it easy with adding many guest characters. - Bring back 'Test Your Luck' and maybe Kustom Kombat! - Add Chess Kombat?

It’s the greediness of WB for what they’re charging for kosmetics in a full priced game and the lack of actual fun modes and kontent for me. 😞 Prob the first MK I haven’t really enjoyed since vs DC. It’s a shame, cause I like the roster, the aesthetic, I like the tag idea, even the gameplay itself and the story are fun (to me). It’s such a damn shame.
The graphics look about the same. Maybe even worse since they have to load in 4 character models per match instead of just 2. And the VFX look a lot worse than mk11
Guilty Gear is a part of the big 3 now. I'm happy about it, but also saddened by it. I'm happy because Guilty Gear is one of my favorite games. I prefer it to Street Fighter and Tekken. I don't like either one of those games. I've always felt Guilty Gear is a bit underrated. However, I'm saddened that Guilty Gear is in the top 3 since it took Mortal kombats place. Mortal kombat is my favorite fighting game.

I just not recently got my PlayStation 5 slim, I was thinking about getting mortal kombat 1 but my reason for getting it is just story mode, klassic towers, and making videos on it.

Game is almost a year old and i don't think i have more than 200 matches online. MK11 around this time i was grinding hard in kombat league and had like 500 kasual matches. It's such a shame

NRS and WB kind of deserve this. I know the production on this game was probably a nightmare and rushed, but you mean to tell me that they weren't aware of the amount of time and care Capcom and Namco were putting into their fighters for the next gen, and they thought releasing MK1 the way it was, was fine..... The game was barely finished and was bare bones compared to previous titles. MK1 was the opposite of a passion project. Tekken 8 and SF6 were nothing but passion projects. Everyone sees this. They should honestly abandon the game right away and start throwing every single thing they have into making another game. Do everything they can to reclaim what they just lost, and I do think they lost a lot. They won't see the sales they are used to in the next entry. I think people will remember this one.

Hey Dynasty, you've been my number 1 MK content creator. I've been silently watching as updates dropped before mk1 came out. I'm not as passionate about mk as you but I was hopeful for a good mk game nonetheless. It sucks but I felt this coming since the beginning of mk11. I bought it and barely played it. Mk9 and 10 were great although I didn't touch 10 much. MK-UNO AND 11 could've been so good but I think the developers need a change to make MK great again. I still hope to see a good change one day.
also the main reason why i didn’t get Mk1 is the kameo system it seems really dumb and brain dead just call in your assist and let them do the work i liked it in mk9 to where you could actually switch between characters..just seems like laziness to not implement that just make them “kameos” 😪

The fact that undernight which I didn't even know that was a fighting game is beating MK1 is crazy granted it's also beating KOF but considering KOF turned 2 years old in Mid March numbers for KOF XV makes sense although not so much with MK1. Feel like most of it is mainly A. NRS games don't do too amazingly well with Evo vompared to Street Fighter and Tekken And B. The kameo system which I don't think is an awful idea it's just it wasn't done was well as it could've been especially with the whole one combination can have 900 health while the other can have 1000 health at the start of the round that and the whole Invasions idea and the whole basically grind to get stuff brought people the wrong way mostly with fatalities considering in MKX and MK11 you could just preform the 2nd fatality and boom unlocked but in MK1 gotta do Invasion and other stuff to grind to get them. Along with Invasions being not so great of an idea in execution
You were spot on and I’m glad you brought up Max because he was dead on , the causal audience is way way more important then people think , all the other fighters figured that out finally while the most casual friendly fighter went the other way and made the least casual friendly and content rich fighter and its numbers are down accross the board, I mean this is the worst turn out for NRS for a launch fighter period. Not suprised at all. My friend and I pre ordered. I played the first 4 seasons and stopped playing because I was simply bored of the game. My friend stopped after season 2. And we have thousands of hours on MK 11. Not even my friends who love MK doesn't wanna play locally. I recently uninstalled MK 1 and downloaded MK 11 back and I am having much more fun sadly. WB needs to stop effecting this franchises future with their greed. Stop monetizing everything and don't release games before they are finished
They tried to mix mk9 with mk11 i think tried to give the best of both worlds but it was the wrong call Sf6- drive rush Tekken 8-heat They both promote agressive combo style of play
A month ago, I was gaming online. The character select screen pops up, and I was just chilling. Not a care in the world. But once the kameo select screen popped up, that's when I started to care.. I didn't realize what I was doing until my buddy says: "So Stryker vs kung lao with reptile and baraka as kameos." I'm like, oh shit dude you're right.

Honestly standings for MK1 do not surprise me. I love Mortal Kombat I want to love this game but I just can't I have a lot more fun playing MKX and mk11 I thought I would like the Cameo system but I don't I like it better in mk11 where you can choose your own modifiers better have hundreds to choose from and they all do different things. I also like previous games for the fact of the environmental stage objects but that has been replaced with the Cameo button I thought the environmental things were kind of funny and really a cool concept used for defense and offense. I get that the Gateway portal it's kind of supposed to be like the towers of time but it's not as fun. I do like that they still have the shops in MK1 along with the forge I like that but at the same time I would still prefer modifiers. And I like the mk11 more because there's more things you can do and it's a lot more details do you like how mk11 you could choose your intros and outros a lot easier. And I love the augment systems in mk11. I don't know if I like the Crypt or invasions better but they could have definitely made invasions better than it is it's kind of boring like that's really the only time I play mk1 is when there is new season to unlock things once I've done all that I go back to playing mk11 cuz there's just so much more to it. An invasion has a lot of technical problems. You can customize your character in MK1 can I write the customization in mk11 better because I know I'm getting wants a new game but like I said before there's more options like you can choose the pallet and then three gear pieces when an MK1 you only have the pallet and one piece of gear that they choose it just doesn't make sense and you should be able to customize your cameo more than just the color. You should be able to customize one of their gear pieces too. I like in MK1 and an MKX you can add multiple options for a certain stage you choose. And I know this may be a small thing but I like it better than mk11 with the intro or like right before the fight walking onto the stage I don't like the head to head the way the intros are in MK1. I don't play tests your might very much but I wish they had a test through test your might like they do in MKX that alone you can just play whenever you want. Verses in MK1 where you only have test your might in a certain spot instead of its own . I don't like the Game shop because it never changes and if it does it's boring more things you already have. And the Warriors Shrine in MK1 might as well not exist they're not going to do anything with it I know MK1 is a fighting game but I do like the MK1 has brighter colors and better sounds and music and I think the stages themselves are a lot better think the stages are better compared to previous games. I hate that the guest characters never get any invasions items you can buy with your credit. In every season is less and less stuff. And I wish cameos and guest characters have the same ranking level 35 as the base characters. When cameos only go to Mastery level 15 and guess characters only go to a Mastery level of 20 I wish it was 35 was the other characters including cameos make every character rank go up to 35
Mk1 came out in 2023 after Evo it had to wait 10 months to be at Evo this is a big factor. If Mk1 would have launched on April like mk11 and mkx it would have had at least 1200 players.
Absolutely love the franchise, sometimes I think I’m the only one who really enjoyed MK11, I played it for like two years. My MK1 preorder got delayed for a month and then finally canceled, within a week of playing I was saying it was a bad game, and I stopped playing right after Omni man. I came back to check out peacemaker and Quan chi, haven’t picked up the game since. No point. Maybe I will for taekada but I doubt it honestly. It’s been a dumpster fire since release. Almost nothing to do unless you wanna play against a live player, but that gets super repetitive and if you’re not spending 30+ hours a week perfecting one character you’re going to lose. Utterly tragic game

They can try and say that they blacklisted you because of the leaks but the truth is you spoke truths and gained a following they didn't support because they were going the direction they are in now that is a fact since the previous titles are pretty much free we should tungle them and make our own client to play vs online should be fairly simple to run a molded version of deception deadly alliance or Armageddon and use tungle to connect and run servers cab you imagine kombat chess in online versus just because they won't listen and do it doesn't mean we can't do it ourselves. Sad part about that is there's not a way to get consoles in on the fun yet maybe through 360 and horizon. Thanks again dynasty fir the years of coverage and non biased genuine love for this franchise I feel all that is attracted to the disappointment been feeling it since the life saver was thrown to them by wb I knew it wasn't to save them. On top of that it always has issues with intro dialogue or if that’s fixed it’s the boss battles that are messed up… if that’s fixed then it’s character level issues… pretty much always a new issue lol. 😂 I still play it though I love mk it’s just once I’m done with invasions it just sits
For the next MK, they need to forget about variations and kameos, and look at SF6 where they completely loaded up each character's kit. Everyone can do so much and are all fun to play.

I miss the interactables when they introduced that i thought brilliant and it was. I also dont get why they didn't focus on the test your luck aspect that made the fights harder and crazy. They went about mk1 all wrong. I dont get why they insisted on a brighter tranquil setting mk has always been gritty, dark and suspenseful they way it should be . I get they wanted to run a new version of itself so they could reimagine the characters. They could of done this in a way that makes sense amd keep the control system same as previous titles but the lack of thought put into the combat doesn't make sense for example why change the way to block it didnt need changing we were happy how it was. Everything has been an after thought.

I bought a series S alone to play mk1 cuz I didnt have enough money to buy myself a ps5. I even bought the premium edition for $100 and guess what.. ended up playing the story and few of the arcade ladders having a total playtime of only 11hrs and stopped playing aftrwards. RIP my money 😢
As a person that enjoys Mk1, even I’m not shocked the numbers are this low. I find myself playing mk11 more these days, only because Mk1 seems to have nothing really going for it once you complete the current season. I do like all 3 mk games I own, Mkx 11 and 1. But yeah 1 has an issue definitely
I believe the kameo system was a big mistake. It would have been better if they had tag team option. Similar to mK9 and if you remember in story mode. In MK 11 did have a tag team fighting
MK problem is all the budget goes into the visuals and story, the gameplay is always last priority. The people who buy this game do it for the story and then never play it again.
I think if we would've been more critical from the jump it would've pushed the developer to put this game in the right direction. Instead, we're almost a year in and things are getting worse.
It relies to hard on the kameos, characters alone should have been fleshed out as single player characters and kameos should have been a 2-3 time use per round assist when you absolutely needed them
I think NRS wants mk to be great, but given WB looms over them. (especially after the suicide squad game) I think WB knows how big of a property MK is and they thought they could make up lost income by micro-transactioning the hell out of MK1. Theres obviously a huge disconnect and seems NRS is between a rock and a hard place. MK1 has solidified that ill never buy a MK at launch ever again and thats worrisome because I know others will wise up after this game as well. Heres hoping the future is better. Atleast there are BETTER fighting games to look forward to in the coming years. Itll make the wait a little less stressful.

Guilty Gear is a part of the big 3 now. I'm happy about it, but also saddened by it. I'm happy because Guilty Gear is one of my favorite games. I prefer it to Street Fighter and Tekken. I don't like either one of those games. I've always felt Guilty Gear is a bit underrated. However, I'm saddened that Guilty Gear is in the top 3 since it took Mortal kombats place. Mortal kombat is my favorite fighting game.

I just not recently got my PlayStation 5 slim, I was thinking about getting mortal kombat 1 but my reason for getting it is just story mode, klassic towers, and making videos on it.
I’d rather them have made an injustice game and let it be what mk1 has become. I didn’t want this to happen to my favorite franchise but it is what it is

Game is almost a year old and i don't think i have more than 200 matches online. MK11 around this time i was grinding hard in kombat league and had like 500 kasual matches. It's such a shame

NRS and WB kind of deserve this. I know the production on this game was probably a nightmare and rushed, but you mean to tell me that they weren't aware of the amount of time and care Capcom and Namco were putting into their fighters for the next gen, and they thought releasing MK1 the way it was, was fine..... The game was barely finished and was bare bones compared to previous titles. MK1 was the opposite of a passion project. Tekken 8 and SF6 were nothing but passion projects. Everyone sees this.
They should honestly abandon the game right away and start throwing every single thing they have into making another game. Do everything they can to reclaim what they just lost, and I do think they lost a lot. They won't see the sales they are used to in the next entry. I think people will remember this one.
when it comes to the gameplay when played the right way then the game is soo lit and fun and a lot of hype moments happen in between the matches…i feel like people dont understand how the kameo system really works they just use the simple kameos instead of wanting to explore other kameos and their utilities

Hey Dynasty, you've been my number 1 MK content creator. I've been silently watching as updates dropped before mk1 came out. I'm not as passionate about mk as you but I was hopeful for a good mk game nonetheless. It sucks but I felt this coming since the beginning of mk11. I bought it and barely played it. Mk9 and 10 were great although I didn't touch 10 much. MK-UNO AND 11 could've been so good but I think the developers need a change to make MK great again. I still hope to see a good change one day.
also the main reason why i didn’t get Mk1 is the kameo system it seems really dumb and brain dead just call in your assist and let them do the work i liked it in mk9 to where you could actually switch between characters..just seems like laziness to not implement that just make them “kameos” 😪

The fact that undernight which I didn't even know that was a fighting game is beating MK1 is crazy granted it's also beating KOF but considering KOF turned 2 years old in Mid March numbers for KOF XV makes sense although not so much with MK1. Feel like most of it is mainly
A. NRS games don't do too amazingly well with Evo vompared to Street Fighter and Tekken

B. The kameo system which I don't think is an awful idea it's just it wasn't done was well as it could've been especially with the whole one combination can have 900 health while the other can have 1000 health at the start of the round
that and the whole Invasions idea and the whole basically grind to get stuff brought people the wrong way mostly with fatalities considering in MKX and MK11 you could just preform the 2nd fatality and boom unlocked but in MK1 gotta do Invasion and other stuff to grind to get them.
Along with Invasions being not so great of an idea in execution

You were spot on and I’m glad you brought up Max because he was dead on , the causal audience is way way more important then people think , all the other fighters figured that out finally while the most casual friendly fighter went the other way and made the least casual friendly and content rich fighter and its numbers are down accross the board, I mean this is the worst turn out for NRS for a launch fighter period. Far as I am concerned MK1 is a huge step backward for NRS and MK.

Not suprised at all. My friend and I pre ordered. I played the first 4 seasons and stopped playing because I was simply bored of the game. My friend stopped after season 2. And we have thousands of hours on MK 11. Not even my friends who love MK doesn't wanna play locally. I recently uninstalled MK 1 and downloaded MK 11 back and I am having much more fun sadly. WB needs to stop effecting this franchises future with their greed. Stop monetizing everything and don't release games before they are finished

A month ago, I was gaming online. The character select screen pops up, and I was just chilling. Not a care in the world. But once the kameo select screen popped up, that's when I started to care.. I didn't realize what I was doing until my buddy says: "So Stryker vs kung lao with reptile and baraka as kameos." I'm like, oh shit dude you're right.

Honestly standings for MK1 do not surprise me. I love Mortal Kombat I want to love this game but I just can't I have a lot more fun playing MKX and mk11 I thought I would like the Cameo system but I don't I like it better in mk11 where you can choose your own modifiers better have hundreds to choose from and they all do different things. I also like previous games for the fact of the environmental stage objects but that has been replaced with the Cameo button I thought the environmental things were kind of funny and really a cool concept used for defense and offense. I get that the Gateway portal it's kind of supposed to be like the towers of time but it's not as fun. I do like that they still have the shops in MK1 along with the forge I like that but at the same time I would still prefer modifiers. And I like the mk11 more because there's more things you can do and it's a lot more details do you like how mk11 you could choose your intros and outros a lot easier. And I love the augment systems in mk11. I don't know if I like the Crypt or invasions better but they could have definitely made invasions better than it is it's kind of boring like that's really the only time I play mk1 is when there is new season to unlock things once I've done all that I go back to playing mk11 cuz there's just so much more to it. An invasion has a lot of technical problems. You can customize your character in MK1 can I write the customization in mk11 better because I know I'm getting wants a new game but like I said before there's more options like you can choose the pallet and then three gear pieces when an MK1 you only have the pallet and one piece of gear that they choose it just doesn't make sense and you should be able to customize your cameo more than just the color. You should be able to customize one of their gear pieces too. I like in MK1 and an MKX you can add multiple options for a certain stage you choose. And I know this may be a small thing but I like it better than mk11 with the intro or like right before the fight walking onto the stage I don't like the head to head the way the intros are in MK1. I don't play tests your might very much but I wish they had a test through test your might like they do in MKX that alone you can just play whenever you want. Verses in MK1 where you only have test your might in a certain spot instead of its own . I don't like the Game shop because it never changes and if it does it's boring more things you already have. And the Warriors Shrine in MK1 might as well not exist they're not going to do anything with it I know MK1 is a fighting game but I do like the MK1 has brighter colors and better sounds and music and I think the stages themselves are a lot better think the stages are better compared to previous games. I hate that the guest characters never get any invasions items you can buy with your credit. In every season is less and less stuff. And I wish cameos and guest characters have the same ranking level 35 as the base characters. When cameos only go to Mastery level 15 and guess characters only go to a Mastery level of 20 I wish it was 35 was the other characters including cameos make every character rank go up to 35

Mk1 came out in 2023 after Evo it had to wait 10 months to be at Evo this is a big factor. If Mk1 would have launched on April like mk11 and mkx it would have had at least 1200 players.
Absolutely love the franchise, sometimes I think I’m the only one who really enjoyed MK11, I played it for like two years. My MK1 preorder got delayed for a month and then finally canceled, within a week of playing I was saying it was a bad game, and I stopped playing right after Omni man. I came back to check out peacemaker and Quan chi, haven’t picked up the game since. No point. Maybe I will for taekada but I doubt it honestly. It’s been a dumpster fire since release. Almost nothing to do unless you wanna play against a live player, but that gets super repetitive and if you’re not spending 30+ hours a week perfecting one character you’re going to lose. Utterly tragic game

Thank you for being a real old school new school gamer and not being scared to tell the truth. They can try and say that they blacklisted you because of the leaks but the truth is you spoke truths and gained a following they didn't support because they were going the direction they are in now that is a fact since the previous titles are pretty much free we should tungle them and make our own client to play vs online should be fairly simple to run a molded version of deception deadly alliance or Armageddon and use tungle to connect and run servers cab you imagine kombat chess in online versus just because they won't listen and do it doesn't mean we can't do it ourselves. Sad part about that is there's not a way to get consoles in on the fun yet maybe through 360 and horizon. Thanks again dynasty fir the years of coverage and non biased genuine love for this franchise I feel all that is attracted to the disappointment been feeling it since the life saver was thrown to them by wb I knew it wasn't to save them. Thanks for being real! 🎉 I enjoy mk 1 but I’m a husband and a father of 2 I got mk1 on the back burner because it has no replay value until I do the next invasions or dlc. On top of that it always has issues with intro dialogue or if that’s fixed it’s the boss battles that are messed up… if that’s fixed then it’s character level issues… pretty much always a new issue lol. 😂 I still play it though I love mk it’s just once I’m done with invasions it just sits
The Klassik one on one mode is a extremely needed for Mk1 they need to get to work on fixing the issues of this game 😊
For the next MK, they need to forget about variations and kameos, and look at SF6 where they completely loaded up each character's kit. Everyone can do so much and are all fun to play.
Instead of the kameo they should have just did 3v3 one round...it would bring the team aspect to a fighting game

I miss the interactables when they introduced that i thought brilliant and it was. I also dont get why they didn't focus on the test your luck aspect that made the fights harder and crazy. They went about mk1 all wrong. I dont get why they insisted on a brighter tranquil setting mk has always been gritty, dark and suspenseful they way it should be .
I get they wanted to run a new version of itself so they could reimagine the characters. They could of done this in a way that makes sense amd keep the control system same as previous titles but the lack of thought put into the combat doesn't make sense for example why change the way to block it didnt need changing we were happy how it was. Everything has been an after thought.

All I'm gonna say is this, every time I see people hate MK1, at the end I'm always thinking, "At least this isn't a game that features both Hanzo Scorpion and Spawn".
They need to return to mortal kombat 9 routes. I miss finding hidden characters to fight and unlock and seeing them appear in the backgrounds. I blame Lui kang for rewriting things lol.
I blame the fans for rushing the game. No one wanted Injustice 3. I personally believe they would have tried the cameo system with Injustice 3. If they would have received push back from the cameo system they wouldn't have added it to MK1. But hey it's already out the best thing WB can do is just improve it by, adding modes.
1.) One be one
2.) Tag/online
3.) Update the graphics
4.) Give the main roster characters full combos

I bought a series S alone to play mk1 cuz I didnt have enough money to buy myself a ps5. I even bought the premium edition for $100 and guess what.. ended up playing the story and few of the arcade ladders having a total playtime of only 11hrs and stopped playing aftrwards. RIP my money 😢

As a person that enjoys Mk1, even I’m not shocked the numbers are this low. I find myself playing mk11 more these days, only because Mk1 seems to have nothing really going for it once you complete the current season. I do like all 3 mk games I own, Mkx 11 and 1. But yeah 1 has an issue definitely
I believe the kameo system was a big mistake. It would have been better if they had tag team option. Similar to mK9 and if you remember in story mode. In MK 11 did have a tag team fighting
MK problem is all the budget goes into the visuals and story, the gameplay is always last priority.
The people who buy this game do it for the story and then never play it again.

I think if we would've been more critical from the jump it would've pushed the developer to put this game in the right direction. Instead, we're almost a year in and things are getting worse.
It relies to hard on the kameos, characters alone should have been fleshed out as single player characters and kameos should have been a 2-3 time use per round assist when you absolutely needed them
I think NRS wants mk to be great, but given WB looms over them. (especially after the suicide squad game)
I think WB knows how big of a property MK is and they thought they could make up lost income by micro-transactioning the hell out of MK1.
Theres obviously a huge disconnect and seems NRS is between a rock and a hard place. MK1 has solidified that ill never buy a MK at launch ever again and thats worrisome because I know others will wise up after this game as well.
Heres hoping the future is better. Atleast there are BETTER fighting games to look forward to in the coming years. Itll make the wait a little less stressful.
