  • This video demonstrates how to conduct descriptive statistics using SPSS. This SPSS for beginner's lesson will clarify your confusion on descriptive statistics. Descriptive statistics are the foundation for further advanced statistical analyses such as inferential statistics.
    Descriptive statistics
    Describe the basic features of the data in a study.
    Provide simple summaries about the sample and the variables.
    Often with simple graphics, descriptive statistics form the basis of virtually every quantitative analysis of data.
    When we describe a study variable, we essentially look at three major characteristics of that variable.
    The distribution-frequency of occurrence of a variable.
    The central tendency-an estimate of the centre of the distribution. Mostly expressed in Mean, Median, and Mode.
    The dispersion-how the values are spread around the central tendency. Often expressed in the range and the standard deviation.

      I have been facing problem with data analysis. I have proper data bt I'm confused how to analyze them. It would be great help for me if I get direction from you. I have seleted some major product that are exported from Bangladesh with proper data of importing countries applied tariff of that countries exported amount of yearly time period, trade balance. • @aninaislam8115
      @aninaislam8115 3 года назад +1

      @@AzharulIslamThank you so much sir. These are my these objectives-
      1. To identify potential products for export by analysing trade indicator.
      2.to identify negative or positive growth of the prospective products for export from Bangladesh.
      3.to identify and analyze relevant tariff data of that selected products.
      4.to identify the potential export destination of the selected products.

    • @AzharulIslam
      @AzharulIslam  3 года назад +1

      @@aninaislam8115 These questions need to be very specific. However, below are a few suggestions.
      1. To identify potential products for export by analysing trade indicator.
      > It depends on how you measure "trade indicator". If each product is expressed as a nominal (e.g., name), you can simply see frequency distribution to see which product has the highest performance over the specified period. If it is expressed as a numerical number for each product (e.g., 30, 50), you can find potential products with having a high mean (and SD) value, etc.
      2.to identify negative or positive growth of the prospective products for export from Bangladesh.
      > Perhaps, for this you need baseline (e.g., 2018) and target year (e.g., 2020) values for each product. Then you can conduct paired-sample t-test or simple chi-square test of independence to see the change from baseline.
      3.to identify and analyze relevant tariff data of that selected products.
      >What do you mean by analyze? Be very specific.
      4.to identify the potential export destination of the selected products.
      > That is completely a different focus. You perhaps need market data of all possible countries.
      However, think and analyse your questions several times and reach to some more specific, logical and feasible objectives. Best wishes.
