- Scales or levels of measurement quite tricky. Most get confused with four levels of measurement: Nominal, Ordinal, Interval and Ratio. Each level of measurement has its unique feature which determines corresponding statistical analysis.
Levels of measurement বা Scales of Measurement নিয়ে কনফিউশনে থাকি আমরা অনেকেই। ভ্যারিয়েবল কোন স্কেলে পরিমাপ করা হয়েছে তার উপর নির্ভর করে কোন ধরনের এনালাইসিস হবে। এই ভিডিওতে চার ধরনের Levels of measurement নিয়ে একটি স্বচ্ছ ধারণা দেয়ার চেষ্টা করেছি। আশা করছি, এরপর লেভেলস অব মেজারমেন্ট নিয়ে কনফিউশন থাকবে না।

Sir, the Ratio Scale measure is not precise. If the Ratio scale contains an actual zero that means the property we are measuring is absent. But how age can be Zero?

এটা spss এর ক্ষেত্রে কি " Ordinal" হবে না "Scale" হবে?
These are called income categories, better treat them as categorical/nominal scales.
Sir,Thank you 😊 আমার আরেকটা প্রশ্ন ছিলো, SPSS এ দুইটা nominal variable এর ক্ষেত্রে আমরা cross tab করে chi-square test এর মাধ্যমে Association চেক করি।But দুটো variable এর মধ্যে একটা যদি nominal এবং অন্যটা ordinal হয়,সেক্ষেত্রে কি chi-square test করা যাবে নাকি spearman rank correlation test করতে হবে!

Ordinal is safe. Someone can treat school class as interval but ordinal is better.

@@ridwanador4889 it depends on how the researcher operationalizes the variable "class." If the researcher collects data from various classes such as class 6, 7...10, it may be considered as ordinal level. In broad consider this classification as a categorical variable.
