Great video again Pan! Planning to coat my new wheels. (new car arriving end of March). I've already wrote the steps down from your previous video's. Only difference is that I'm going to coat them With Carpro D'lux. :-).

You are so inspiring!! Thank you. Every time I feel like "throwin' in the microfiber towel", in this detail biz; I watch a video of yours and get re-inspired. Superior Detailing NW, Birch Bay Wa.
Recently bought some new alloys so I had the luxury of being able to coat them before putting on car. I used CarPro Dlux and they have been maintaining them with hydro 2. Gloss is insane! Definitely agree it’s not as difficult as people may think, if I can do it anyone can 👌🏼
I've used Chemical Guy's Wheel Guard to protect my rims on my car. It's like a paste, or even looks like wax that would come in a jar. It goes on easy, and must stay for 15min I think. It gives a high shine, helps prevent water spots, and brake dust from sticking. It also makes cleaning the rims easier. P.S. I'm a detailer too.
Thank you !! 👏😊 I have used - TEC 582 CERAMIC DETAIL SPRAY , bead maker and meguiars detail spray. I would one of them during the maintenance wash. Depending on what I have had available during the detail. That’s the products I’ve used to protect the car and rims. I really like the video you made on ceramic coating on the paint and wanted to ask about the rims :-)

Yeah I don’t know if that’s normal. The car is only 10 months old with 10,000km. Mostly highway driving. All my previous cars did that too (BMW 435i, Audi S5). I’m wondering if that’s because of the insane Canadian winters?

Excellent video!!! Learning a lot from all your materials. Thank you! I have one question, please. I have seen some videos where the iron remover was the first step of the cleaning process. Is there a rule , or, does not matter ?
The general consensus on paintwork is wash, iron remover, clay, machine polishing, IPA and then coating. Same would apply to wheels. You can skip claying and polishing if they’re in a good state.
Pan, I have wheels that are gloss black and clear coated that I want to apply a ceramic coating to. In addition to the steps you've outlined in your video, I would also need to polish them due to some light scratches that are very noticeable due to the gloss black paint. What is your recommendation for wheel polishing? I was going to go with some small polishing heads that attach to a drill but I wanted to see what you thought. Thanks for all you do.
Hey Pan, during decontamination you suggest to use 2 products: Iron X + Tar remover. Why don't you recommend CarPro TRIX which does both in a single product and may save money?
Pan, full credit these are the best vids by far. Hope your able to help with this one... I have raw freshly polished BBS RC aluminium wheels (Nicely done, but not mirror finish). Thanks for the kind words Andy. As per Gyeon's own statement: "There are various wheel rim types available on the market, e.g. wet painted, powder coated, anodized or polished. Q² Rim is an appropriate product to protect each and every one of them. Even the owners of models with polished rim lips have observed that the need to refresh the so-called mirror effect is significantly less frequent."
@@PanTheOrganizer Pan, appreciate the rapid reply, guess ceramic coating is the way forward then... These forums certainly cut out the guess work, thanks for the Q-Rim recommend. Cheers bud
Hi Pan, i'm from Asia, been following ur detailing video for sometime.. its awesome and u did a great video on detailing vehicle up tot the tiniest detail.. After seeing ur video above on how to perform coating on wheel rims makes me eagerly to try out this Gyeon as well.. But, i have an issue, my rims have water spot.. Should i use Gyeon water spot remover first? Kindly advise which step i need to use before done the coating.. Your advise is much appreciates.
I want to do this to a set of wheels that have a matte finish. Will this product make them shiny, or will it keep the original look to them? Great video by the way!
Pan, if you wanted to top your newly coated wheels or paint, how long do you have to wait to put something like bead maker over the ceramic? Does it bond right away, or do you have to let the ceramic cure first? Also I have an idea for a video for you. I know sometimes it's cool to have a product unique for a purpose, but you end up with a lot of stuff. But what about for enthusiasts who don't do this for a living, maybe you can make a video on good products that can serve multiple uses (if you think they are good for all applications). I'll give you an example, on your Rag Company Microfiber video I heard Levi say he likes to use ONR as his glass cleaner. I've also heard people use it for clay lube, obviously waterless wash. That's could be worth buying in bulk to replace a couple other things if it was a good option. Maybe APC's (for engine, interior, )VRP type products and tires and so on could be covered. You tell us.
Thanks to your wealth of knowledge Pan , I purchased at the Gyeon wheel cleaning products. I will tackle them tomorrow assuming it will require at least 3 hours. My wheels are deep dish 2019 Camaro LS1 wheels , and I still have not been able to find a long enough barrel brush to agitate the brake dust off of them without thrashing my knuckles.Any recommendations? I have the Karcher pressure washer but feel I need more reach with a long brush. Your expert opinion appreciated. BTW, this video is awesome!!
The WoollyWormit or Speed Master brushes (EZ Detail is the same). Both do extremely well on my 20 inch BMW wheels. Here's my WoollyWormit video: ruclips.net/video/E7r-N6au-RE/видео.html Here's my best wheels brushes video: ruclips.net/video/siZhhnve-84/видео.html
This video is 3yrs old and I'm just watching it now. Are there any updated products to protect the rim that you recommend? If you have an udated video for a rim protector and you share it with me?
Hi Pan, when we apply ceramic coating,do we throw away the products that we used to apply the ceramic coating? Just wanting to make sure. Greetings from 🇩🇪
I always throw away the towels and applicators used to apply ceramic coatings in glass bottles. Welcome to my channel. You discovered one of the biggest car detailing channels on RUclips as we surpassed 990,000 subscribers and we have over 135 million views! I have been detailing for 27 years and I love to share my knowledge and passion with my viewers. You found the right channel to help you learn everything about detailing.
G'day Pan, First off, good to hear your using some Aussie lingo (twice) "no worries"! Question: Not knowing how long before the ceramic coating begins drying on the applicator or MF towel, should you Clean and Prep ALL 4 wheels before applying ceramic coating, or is there sufficient time in between doing one wheel at a time? Again another excellent video. Ozz
With a spray-on, rinse coating (Gyeon Wet Coat) as this video focused more on showing how people who don’t have the equipment to do a wheels off treatment can still coat the faces of the wheels, and then use Wet Coat for the barrels.
Great how-to Pan! One question; is it ok to use on the rest of the cars painted panels? (I have half of a bottle left that I don't want to go to waste)
Definitely going to try this next! The front brakes on our AUDI make soot! Question on Gliss... did you use 1/2 of the Gliss 30ml bottle for your Bimmer? The CarPro website says one 30ml bottle is enough for 1 car. Maybe they mean if you do 2 coats? I followed your instructions on applying the ceramic coating (2 coats CQuartz UK) and then applied Gliss (1 coat). Thanks Pan!
I purchased Sonax Spray and Seal for topping up protection on my wheels, think I've seen you use it before too, should I consider switching to Wet Coat?
Love the vids Pan! I'm looking into applying Gyeon on some new wheels I got but I noticed the wheel finish on the spokes have a sorta sandpaper finish to them versus a smooth finish, could the Gyeon still be applied with no problem?
Pan TheOrganizer curious of your thoughts. cleans up really well on mud break dust and road grime but not sure how to tell if it’s bad or ok to use on them. Is there specific properties you look for to make your decision?
I’m planning on coating 3 brand new (in the box) sets of 13” wheels for my race car. Can you estimate how many bottles of Rim it might take and how many applicator pads are required? The wheels are a maximum of 8” width. Thank you ... love the channel.
Very hard to say as I don't know how much product you use, plus I have never seen those wheels... But typically one bottle should allow you to coat 8 wheels total. I use a new applicator after doing 2 wheels.
I’m surprised you didn’t take the wheel off in order to clean and protect the barrel of the wheel. Maybe you left it on for video demonstration purposes only? Either way, great content! Huge fan from TX.
It was to show that even those who can't do a wheels off service (most people don't have the knowledge or tools for that) can still coat the face of the wheels, and maintain the inner barrels with a spray-on rinse off coating like Gyeon Wet Coat. But of course, when ever possible, a wheels off service is the best way to go.
The procedure is pretty much the same regardless of which wheel coating you are using. You can see us apply CarPro DLUX wheel coating in this full detailing video: ruclips.net/video/E_ck-Hn1AvE/видео.htmlsi=fSc0OEiYmGVG28k9
Pan, you said to throw away the microfibre towels after using the ceramic coating... is it the case when applying Turtle Wax hybrid ceramic spray coating & ceramic wet wax?
Hello thank for the informative video. I just bought brand new wheels for my f10. Haven't installed them yet. Do I have to follow these exact steps to protect the wheels before I take the car to garage to put in new tyres tyres on thm.
Would like your opinion on the difference between gyeon wet coat and carpro hydro lite 2. I've been using the hydo lite2 and it's pretty good and the longevity is outstanding.
Yes they are pretty equivalent. At CarPro, it would be the DLUX wheel coating, which I applied on my own previous BMW in this video: ruclips.net/video/dsCmJJDP3xo/видео.html
pan love your video and with that aside I have a question for you ,I was offered a car wash location to operate myself instead of running around from house to house garage to garage to clean cars , my question is the deal I am offered is as such , I have my own garage rent free ..electricity free..all the water supply I can use ..all washing and detail products I use all paid for by land lord from soaps to ceramic coat products to brushes to hoses buckets etc all supplied to me on my demand and need , but I have to split all my washes 50 50 with landlord and 70 me 30 landlord for detail jobs basicly if I do a complete ceramic coat job and charge 600 I will subtract 200 for parts and have a 400 dollar froffit and I will keep 280 and landlord will get 120 ////do you believe this is a good deal or should I keep being a mobile detailer ...the only thing I am thinking of is the winter months where its super quiet for me for detail jobs but if im in a garage I can wash a gazillion cars during winter months ..so please tell me if its a deal I should take or keep doing what I am doing as a mobile car wash /detailer ...thank you
You can put the wheels back on the vehicle after the application. But don't drive the car, and don't expose to water or rain for 24 hours. Always follow the instructions.

Yes try a water spot remover first, that's the less aggressive method. If that still doesn't work, you will have to polish your wheels.
I want to do this to a set of wheels that have a matte finish. Will this product make them shiny, or will it keep the original look to them? Great video by the way!
It will keep the original matte look, just a richer, nicer finish. Don’t worry, it won’t add gloss
where did you get your garden hose nozzle you are using ?
He uses the full Eley setup: Hose, quick disconnects and the nozzle. It’s all on Eleys website.
Eley Hose Reels professional spray nozzle set
The good stuff. :). Do you have Eley equipment too?
Not yet, but will be pulling the trigger in the near future.
Good idea. And to answer your question, let a week go by before washing the wheels and apply a topper like Bead Maker.
Good to see a new vid Pan.
Thanks Daiymian!
As always great review pan
Thanks!
Ez detail brush will do. The big one!
The WoollyWormit or Speed Master brushes (EZ Detail is the same). Both do extremely well on my 20 inch BMW wheels.
Here's my WoollyWormit video: ruclips.net/video/E7r-N6au-RE/видео.html

Very good, can the protector be use on chrome also?because the edge of my rims are chrome
Yes it can be applied to chrome, and also various wheel rim types available on the market, e.g. wet painted, powder coated, anodized or polished.
Thank you 🙏 good video 👍🏻
Thanks!
This video is 3yrs old and I'm just watching it now. Are there any updated products to protect the rim that you recommend? If you have an udated video for a rim protector and you share it with me?
This is still valid. I made a wheels of detailing tutorial here: ruclips.net/video/3LCQ0g589pM/видео.html
@@PanTheOrganizer Thank you for the reply Pan 👍🏻
tu peu fait la video en francais stp? merci
Ozz
I clean all the wheels at once. Then prep all the wheels at once. Then I coat one wheel at a time, buff off the coating and move to the next wheel.
Thanks Mate.
👍🏻
Thanks for another great video, did you coat the inner barrels of your car?
With a spray-on, rinse coating (Gyeon Wet Coat) as this video focused more on showing how people who don’t have the equipment to do a wheels off treatment can still coat the faces of the wheels, and then use Wet Coat for the barrels.
Great how-to Pan!
One question; is it ok to use on the rest of the cars painted panels? (I have half of a bottle left that I don't want to go to waste)
No. This is a rim application.
Can you please make a video on how to wash a vehicle with rust? I have a Silverado I’ll be washing here soon and it has some rust on the bedside.
Thanks Pan!
I applied one coat and didn't even use half a bottle of Gliss on my car.
Great way to spread the cost. The Gliss rags can be reused too, unlike the ceramic rags, right?
I throw them away.
Love the videos I was curious about using simple green on wheels and tires have you ever tried or heard of this product?
I have not tried that.
Pan TheOrganizer
curious of your thoughts. cleans up really well on mud break dust and road grime but not sure how to tell if it’s bad or ok to use on them.
@@PanTheOrganizer I don’t see a link to the applicator “mitts”. I assume they are not the applicator cloths.
Can a brake repellent spray be added onto a coated wheels like these ones?
I’m surprised you didn’t take the wheel off in order to clean and protect the barrel of the wheel. Maybe you left it on for video demonstration purposes only? Either way, great content! Huge fan from TX.
It was to show that even those who can't do a wheels off service (most people don't have the knowledge or tools for that) can still coat the face of the wheels, and maintain the inner barrels with a spray-on rinse off coating like Gyeon Wet Coat. But of course, when ever possible, a wheels off service is the best way to go.
Pan TheOrganizer Well said! Keep the videos coming!
Any advise on restoring or managing wheels with some oxidization? Bought a new vehicle and the Helo wheels that are on it need some work.
Hello Pan, are there any videos like this with a different coating brand?
The procedure is pretty much the same regardless of which wheel coating you are using.
You can see us apply CarPro DLUX wheel coating in this full detailing video: ruclips.net/video/E_ck-Hn1AvE/видео.htmlsi=fSc0OEiYmGVG28k9
Pan, you said to throw away the microfibre towels after using the ceramic coating... is it the case when applying Turtle Wax hybrid ceramic spray coating & ceramic wet wax?
No
Hello thank for the informative video. I just bought brand new wheels for my f10. Haven't installed them yet. Do I have to follow these exact steps to protect the wheels before I take the car to garage to put in new tyres tyres on thm.
I would do this after the tires are installed. Watch my wheels off detailing video: ruclips.net/video/3LCQ0g589pM/видео.html
@@PanTheOrganizer thanks
Would like your opinion on the difference between gyeon wet coat and carpro hydro lite 2. I've been using the hydo lite2 and it's pretty good and the longevity is outstanding.
Pretty similar in terms of application, performance, durability, gloss...
Hi, Pan is it advisable to get PPF from the factory before it gets ceramic coated outside?
Could you make your own mix for the prep? Mix alcohol with water to prep the wheels
50% isopropyl alcohol and 50% demineralized water
Hell to the MFing yeah! Great videos Pan ! Thanks for the extra emphasis on that paaan. Nice compromise between the French and English versions
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Can Gyeon Rim used on exterior plastics? I know there is a specific product for the trims, but I am curious.
No. On plastics, you use this: bit.ly/3BQ8WS7
Hi Pan, what would be the equivalent products in the Car Pro line? And is the process the same with Car Pro?
Yes they are pretty equivalent. At CarPro, it would be the DLUX wheel coating, which I applied on my own previous BMW in this video: ruclips.net/video/dsCmJJDP3xo/видео.html
Thanks for the paaaaaaannn intro love it
😂👍🏻
how often do you recommend we do this ? thanks.
Once a year.
pan love your video and with that aside I have a question for you ,I was offered a car wash location to operate myself instead of running around from house to house garage to garage to clean cars , my question is the deal I am offered is as such , I have my own garage rent free ..electricity free..all the water supply I can use ..all washing and detail products I use all paid for by land lord from soaps to ceramic coat products to brushes to hoses buckets etc all supplied to me on my demand and need , but I have to split all my washes 50 50 with landlord and 70 me 30 landlord for detail jobs basicly if I do a complete ceramic coat job and charge 600 I will subtract 200 for parts and have a 400 dollar froffit and I will keep 280 and landlord will get 120 ////do you believe this is a good deal or should I keep being a mobile detailer ...the only thing I am thinking of is the winter months where its super quiet for me for detail jobs but if im in a garage I can wash a gazillion cars during winter months ..so please tell me if its a deal I should take or keep doing what I am doing as a mobile car wash /detailer ...thank you
I love your videos and my car is clean af but...damm to spend almost 20.00 per bottle i cant afford that hahaha i will keep using sonax 💔
Thanks
After applying Gyeon RIM how long should I wait before refitting the wheels to the car?
You can put the wheels back on the vehicle after the application. But don't drive the car, and don't expose to water or rain for 24 hours. Always follow the instructions.
Esoteric stated Gyeon Rim flash time is 10 to 15 seconds, did you have any issues buffing it off since you waited a bit longer ?
No issues. I work in a controlled environment with perfect temperature and humidity.
