3 years ago... My life was miserable with job, parents & friends... In the pandemic..
I lost my job. My mom was terribly sick. I was hopeless.. Depressed.. Very unstable..
My uncle helped me a lot... Was consoling me... And telling it's not my mistake... He shared me this video..
    Now I'm watching video.. again..
    🥺
    1) I'm grateful with what I have
    2) I love my job
    3) I'm not using my phone more frequently
    4) Deactivated my twitter account - I'm feeling peaceful...
    5) I go to library & read lots of books
    6) I'm neither lonely nor surrounded by others.... I'm doing good..
Thanks a lot Simon Sinek 🤗 for all the hope & positive words you gave 🙂🤗

    Absolutely mind blowing.
"We are not responsible for results, we are responsible for the people who are responsible for results"!
"So many companies spend so much time taking about culture and almost no time creating it"!

The world needs change of this type. The type of human kindness. At ages 18 - 21 kids are getting killed, wow, and not only that, leaders need to join in and support Simon Sinek, leaders should create a mission letting Simon Sinek and his followers as leaders show a remarkable side of support to all walks of life, but done as a mission. More people need to experience how wonderful it will feel, if they believe it can happen. Please, Please create a mission, where the information can reach more people not only in societies, but in the world, safely.
Thank you, if you get to read this and if
you can make a difference, helping all of humanity.
I myself graduate this May 2018, and truly seek this out
from whoever my future employer will be.

3:54 What are some key traits about humans that every leader should know?
6:40 Help people understand how, if you don’t have rank, you can still be a leader for change in an environment that needs change?
18:00 On the awkwardness of being vulnerable
21:42 …on taking the ephemeral and making it measurable (measuring how you know somebody loves you; measuring leadership)
28:33 If you had to go to the gym for six months before you saw change

He is SO SO right about millenials and impatience. It applies to everything. With the current political climate in mind, how many times have you heard or saw in a post "This is [current year], how come [their cause]". Dealing with serious issues takes time. It takes generations. Over time, things get better. The fact that they might not be part of the generation where their issue will be resolved scares and frustrates them and so we end up with a divided world, endless protests and violence.

Mark Bonner why are you bringing religion into this? You’ve read the bible and can relate all well and good but all the religious books we have say to help- we’ve just forgotten it- I’ve always helped strangers it’s so natural I don’t even realise it’s not the norm. We have to make it the norm. Teach by example. Bless

    • @newera478
      @newera478 6 лет назад +2

The Bible is a collection of books. There's also a lot of nonsense in that collection.
We don't need any of those books. We as a species tend to gather in herds. Such herds need to take care of each other so they can succeed. It's biological, not religious.

The way you describe leadership in it's present form is why you see burn out in nurses in most hospital where they are more concerned about the numbers of patients and how many urine specimen cups we should have in rapid care and it's never enough to cover the shift. Nurses are naturally passionate people. The leadership in hospitals takes advantage of that passion, overwork it and burn it out......which is very sad. I see the same thing happening in City Governments, our current way of leading is so poor.

It's all about English responses here, and I'd like to write something in Chinese.

Brilliant as usual. But what's the solution? How we fix failed parenting? It is all about families after all. A collection of families is a community. A collection of communities is a nation. It is only if we fix families we can fix the nations, the world. Parents have a massive, massive job to do. Let's do it right, shall we? What Simon is saying is really close to my heart. I write children's book and I try to sneak in some good life advice for kids and parents too. Kids learn a lot from books, and studies show that books are better than cartoons, especially because when you read a book you build a connection, a relationship with your child, you spent quality time together, you nurture them, teach them that real togetherness matters. I often go out without my phone. And I even bought alarm clocks for us to use, not because we are obsessed with phones and social media, but because it is healthier not to have this devices close to your body. I have zero social apps on my phone as well. I only use them on my laptop. Keep your kids away from social media. When they are adults with professional careers they can use them to promote themselves, but for now... help them form real life relationships, not fake digital ones.

Lately I have come to know about Mr Simon. And I like most of things that he says. I liked another video related to Social Media and its obsession with new generation. However, related to running business,
I have good and bad experience of running business.
Problem here is leadership or management may act like parents but it not
same otherwise. Employees tend to leave sinking boat. Not only that
people those have been mentored and given opportunity when they were
not good enough becomes insensitive and they can act mean. This may not be because they are like that it is because world out is run by money.
Clients pay for work, if people don't deliver they won't pay. If they don't pay, employees don't get paid, if they don't get paid, no more relationship remains freindly. This is a bitter fact.
Rule of thumb should be do parenting to the selected qualified people for the job, you may be genrous to people/employees, to be precise give mentoring but for financialy viable period, parenting is one way life time process, it will doom the componay for sure, respect money and deliver to the clients.

I would agree we could all do a better job of leadership, what I don't agree with is the statement that "Millennials, it's not your fault. " If as a leader, I am able to absorb this material to make myself better, then millennials should be able to do the same. My father spent many years in an orphanage, he never used that excuse to justify being a poor human being. He always said he didn't want me to have to experience those same things, so he adapted his behavior so he didn't reflect the horrible parenting he was subjected to. My two cents.

The only issue I have with his philosophy, he speaks as if he wants us to depend on the world outside ourselves for courage. No Sir you always will have control of you everything, and everyone outside of ourselves is influence. So Depending on where you are with yourself will determine how you respond to the outer world. Understand this, I can hear that he doesn't from listening to only 2 videos.

Great sentiments. Great ideals. Great utopian wish. Doesn’t apply at 90% of the places people will work in their lives. Supplanting your internal esteem and feeling of fulfillment for an external (job) source of that fulfillment is an error many will make. This will lead to many dissatisfied young people who will blame the job, boss, company for their personal lack of fulfillment. They will lead a life jumping from unfulfilled job to unfulfilled job looking for purpose, esteem, “fulfillment”, not realizing jobs aren’t responsible for supplying your source of fulfillment in life. You can find fulfillment in a job where none of these elements exist. You have to find it internally.....not externally. A lot of truth in what he says, but he is slightly off target.
This is the definition of entitlement. That people “have a RIGHT” to be provided a certain culture at their place of work.
Very nice sounding platitudes, quotes, and quips, but none of it is practical nor does it correlate to the actual experiences people will continue to encounter in their work life.
Prepare people for the real while they chase the ideal. Don’t tell them the ideal is out there or that it SHOULD be provided for you. They’ll lead very disenchanted lives.

Leadership is a choice, you have to make that choice. That's the internal part you are refering to... although he never explicitly says that you have to self reflect, it is sort of implied in speeches like that. In general, the whole internal thing narrative is out of sync with reality, because no mind lives in an isolation... it's a very naive idea because we actually live in a dynamic world where external stimuli determines our inner thoughts and vice versa, and thinking you can live fulfilled life just by refering to internal part of the world is very naive idea. If it worked for you, it worked because you were lucky enough to have just the right external stimuli for it to be possible.
It's extremely arrogant of you to claim that you can have a fulfilled life, no matter your current position in the world, if only you wanted to, if only you dived deep enough into your "soul"... that's essentialy what you claim and it's very naive claim. Reality, as per usual, is much more complex and Simon does an amazing job breaking down the tinny piece of it.
