I totally agree about Shatterpoint! I'm cautiously optimistic about the game itself, but as a Star Wars fan I'm just excited to paint up minis of all these niche characters!!!!
The scene in JP3 where the spinosaurus chases Dr.Grant and friends through the old fence and walks off through the woods acting all defeated only to charge out of the tree line to run straight through the fence to continue pursuit is still on of my favorite movie scenes ever.
I think the best answer to all the star wars The Clone Wars questions you have is... You need to watch the rest of Dave Faloni's work like Clones Wars season 7, The Bad Batch, Tales of the Jedi and The Mandalorian as he does answer them all in those shows and if not going forward or in a new comic/book... Oh and Asoka's Sith counterpart is from Clones Wars 2D cartoon that aired before with the prequels and was part of a major Star wars revive at the time with a TON of stuff that was somehow not canon but EU/Legends instead.
I love ewoks. But i was also like 5-8 when they came around and that awesome ewok standalone movie came out. The beauty of star wars is a lot of it is just timing and people can enjoy different aspects
The clone with Mace is Ponds. Fox is the Corascant Guard commander. They are both red designs and I don't know if Ponds is named in the show so easy mix up. But for Shatterpoint you can mix and match units iirc. I don't think factions are hard and fast so bounty hunters can be used by anyone.
I’m sure someone else in the comments has already said this, but the clone trooper with Mace Windu is actually Ponds who was Mace’s clone commander who served with him in season 1 and 2 before he was killed by Aurra Sing
Made me chuckle when you were questioning people's appetite for ewoks then suggested gungans instead 😂. I too have a soft spot for Phantom Menace and I have a feeling it probably says more about the year you were born than your taste in movies.
Greeting from Denmark. To answer your question about jabba and leveling his "palace", that would have been impossible to justify for the rebellion. It's a religious B'omarr temple that is actually occupied by the monks. If you look at any scene from the movies, they actually enter the temple from the foot of it, and jabba basicly took over the basement of this giant temple and build his empire under a living shield. Clever little bugger, isn't he 😉 Lukes mission was not to shoot jabba, but to bargain. With han, chewbacca and leia all captured, it would have been too dangerous to them, if Luke had cut his way through jabbas minions.
What is the best Star Wars movie intro? I love Revenge of the Sith. It's all peaceful, pretty planet backdrop with Star Ships orbiting and then the pov rotates and "this is where the gun begins!" This is the only time we get a true to 'Clone Wars series Anakin'
I love Ewoks, always have been. Return of the Jedi was my first Star Wars ever when I was 3, my father let me watch it because of those teddy bears and I'm still filled with nostalgia when I see Ewoks. So yeah, I'm all for Ewoks !
To answer a couple of your questions, I'm pretty sure that Luke's plan was to Jedi Mind Trick Jabba face to face, and smuggled his lightsaber inside R2 in case it failed, but he didn't intend to fall into the pit so it disrupted his plan, which was the backup plan to Leia just getting Han out on her own, undercover first anyway. I'm also pretty sure in The Tales of the Jedi which you should definitely watch if you want more Clone Wars animation, they have an entire episode about Ahsoka's origin and the process of collecting force gifted youth. Personally I've always thought of it as the gentler kinder Star Wars version of finding children and training them for their own good, that 40K turns into a horrible awful process of effectively killing or kidnapping any young person exhibiting psychic abilities.
I love all of this. I love content that isnt about GW stuff. I love Conquest! I love Shatterpoint! Ive never even heard about the fallout game but that sounds dope. Even now as just recently ramped up hard to my first full GW army in 15 years I still want all of the non-GW mini painting content!
Ewoks are highly important to Han, Chewie, and Leia. Chief Chirpa was the pastor for Han and Leia's wedding. I'm also highly excited about Padme and crew!
That's not correct. Depending on if you use the pre-disney Lore, then it's as wrong as it gets: han actually kidnapped Leia and told her that if she loved him at the end of 7 days, they had to get married or he would return her and go to jail for kidnapping her. You see, there was an offer of alliance with a system of 53 wealthy worlds in the Hapan system but the kicker was that the Prince of the monarch ruling that system was to be married to Leia, which drew han to action. In the terrible Disney Lore, they married on endor, as for the importance of ewoks and the chieftain, he was their, because the wedding took place in their village, but Luke was actually officiating the wedding, and the use of the ewok village was a matter of convenience, because as we all know, marriage is something you should rush into 😒
I'm enjoying this venturing out month so far. You make the best content Jay (and Nick)... Most excited to see your paint jobs on the Shatterpoint minis! You've got me wanting Arena Rex though
the phantom menace will always be my favorite, i was a kid when it came out and it was the biggest thing for myself and all my friends. Lightsaber battles with sticks, the toys, the games, darth maul, I mean qui gon?!?!
There's a story in one of the star wars tales comics about the guy to which Lando Calrissian steals the armor to infiltrate into Jabba's palace, the title is "skreeje"
If the texture is anything like on my tanks, it was probably from the stippling with the dry brush, possibly having a bit to much paint on the drybrush, or continuing to over stipple in a specific spot.
I felt dumb cause of bought Troll Slayer Orange and Ryza Rust in the same month without realizing they were the same colour. I finally tried out the Ryza Rust when dry brushing and it was really interesting working with the thicker sticky paint. I instantly understood why it existed.
Brontosaurus is not an acknowledged species anymore, it was found out to be an Apatosaurus which was named prior. Other than that great content!! Maybe a "prehistoric" gaming board can also be a nice theme for future projects :)
That is inaccurate. Brontosaurus was separated from the apatasaurus genus back in 2015. The original specimen was of questionable provenance, but recently was recognized as a closely related but seperate genus. Annnnnddddd.... I'm a dinosaur nerd too.
If you like Ashoka's arc from the Clone Wars then you should absolutely watch that final season of Rebels. I'm similar to you in that I liked Clone Wars way more than Rebels but that last season has some great stuff in it.
4:14 I wonder if you could paint the brain dome like a big high contrast gem. Have the light source points opaque from the reflection and then at the dark points treat them like a little window where you can catch a glimpse of the brain. You know the point on a gem where you have the colour, that’s where you can paint in the brain details, and still have it make sense from any angle
I remember reading an article about Phantom Menace effects in which the ILM guys showed George Lucas some pre-vis test backgrounds done on an i-mac (I think it was for the Gungan/Battle Droid battle) and when asked was the kind of thing he wanted them produce, Lucas told them just to use that with the tag line 'Good Enough is Good Enough'. Pretty much sums up Phantom Menace.
Speaking of brains in bowls, I have a plan - cast the dome, then sculpt and paint a brain, then put the brain in the cast and pour in clear resin. All that is the reason I've not yet built any Votann Ironkin, although I wasn't thinking brains.
I wasnt planning on playing shaterpoint but after the reveals of future release I may have to, especially the padme and handmaiden set, if not to play just paint
I remember seeing Phantom Menace in the movie theater with my friends when it first released. We were so fucking hyped. I think we were in eighth grade at the time. I loved it then and it still has a special place in my heart, regardless as to society’s opinion.
I really don't get why Shatter point is a separate game with models that are a tiny bit bigger? Like I think it should just be an game mode for Legions or the models should have been 40mm or even 80mm with that Clone Wars/Bad Batch design.
The inquisitor box set is a definite buy for me. I love rebels, and I agree with you on their weakness, but man you gotta love the Grand Inquisitor's design!! Even the rebels set and mando renders look amazing!
Ewoks are only thing that will get me into Legion. My friends are looking forward to the day they drop so I start playing. Return of the Jedi is my favorite SW film. The Battle of Endor has always been my favorite part of all the movies. The space battle is fantastic, but I completely understand why others don't like the film as much as others. You should check out the Ewok movies if you want to watch something that most think are really bad. You might like the ridiculous plot and acting.
Re Return of the Jedi: I think he genuinely thought that he could get through to Jabba, either by reason or threatening him with a Thermal Detonator but ultimately their main plan was to seemingly get everyone in position for maximum mayhem. There's a ridiculous amount of moving parts, including Leia presumably knowing she would get captured and that Jabba would have an stupidly elaborate execution. So no matter how bad things got? They had a plan for it. I think the only thing he didn't expect was the Rancor. I am the same with the Phantom Menciice; it's a story of the setting, not really of the characters, but the deep dives into the setting and how the Republic and the Jedi are pretty much just vibing while the galaxy burns around the edges;
Don't worry, Jay, that brain would have taken a lot. You'd have to essentially paint 5 brains on it. The top would be one view the front and back another and then the left and right sides. All done in force perspective on that little bitty thing. The easiest way to do it is 3d print a new lil dome and sculpt a lil brain out of green stuff to go inside.
A few things about the Inquisitors: 1) Vader and Palpatine made sure they never got too powerful. They are NOT Sith, and not meant to be able to challenge the true Sith Lords for supremacy. They are meant to mop up padawans and has-beens and flag Vader if they find anything too much to handle. 2) Ezra never beat an Inquisitor. "Foiled" them, escaped, sure. But beat in a 1 v 1 fight? Nope. 2 on 1 with Kanan, sure, but that's hardly fair. 3) Kanan did beat the Grand Inquisitor. It was his big moment in season 1 where the Inquisitor actually kills himself rather than report his failure to Vader. Fantastic moment. 4) The regular Inquisitors do get beat to hell, but mainly by two characters: Darth Maul and Ahsoka Tano. Given that those two are just a step below the likes of Vader and Kenobi, I would have been mad if the inquisitors even looked like they had a chance.
I do want Ewoks but I'm iffy if I want to start collecting a whole other Star Wars scale with Shatterpoint. The Legion, Imperial Assault, and even the old d20 minis are all close enough in scale that I am ok with them coexisting if I squint a little, but the Shatterpoint minis are definitely too big for that.
The ewoks are cool in my book, banding together to save their planet with the scoundrel Han and the coolest princess (in my opinion). They dance they go hard with sticks against storm troopers and at-st. I Dunno just a thought Have a good day all you good people!!! :)
Your take on Phantom Menace is extremely Based and Correct. I saw it in theatres when I was like NINE and it's been one of my favorite Star Wars movies ever since despite being Objectively Bad. You know you've made it as a content creator when Dana Howl out here commenting on the videos
I just love it when you guys comment on each other’s videos, it feels like some kind of Marvel team-up!
The scene in JP3 where the spinosaurus chases Dr.Grant and friends through the old fence and walks off through the woods acting all defeated only to charge out of the tree line to run straight through the fence to continue pursuit is still on of my favorite movie scenes ever.
Best part of that movie.

I'm still not sold on Shatterpoint's rules yet either, but that Plo Koon box is gonna be an instant buy for me.
I’m looking at that throne room duel, and all I think is “Robot Chicken”
I can't wait to see some videos covering Conquest models!
That ´how´ got me good
The model set I really want for shatterpoint is the good guy bounty hunters from season 2 where they defend the village
Ponds is very different in the show
that's what i'm saying but weird to put ponds with phase 2 clones since... yk
An ewok singer that has a microphone and goofy hippie outfit, that is what I want the next limited edition model
Star Wars limited edition model should be the Ewoks killing the AT-ST with logs
Murderbears (aka Ewoks) are pretty frigging tough. Frankly they deserve their own movie.
I'm so glad there are only 3 jurassic park movies.
I feel you on phantom menace. I was in 7th grade and remember my step dad pulling me out of class to go see it haha
Ohhhh Jay just using his stage to throw SO MUCH shade on the new Jurassic movies. 😂
Yes a Hutt Palace heist comic, with the epilog being fallout from Lando's perspective.
I wasn’t that interested in Star Wars Shatterpoint until I saw the Ewoks. I’m definitely picking up that squad even if I don’t get into the game
i loved the Jurassic world dis haha
Ewoks!!!!❤ battle of Endor, Caravan of Courage 🤘
Hell to the yes Ewoks fam. They’re meme-y, and if they’re at all viable I’ll rock them in both games day uno.
I saw that model yesterday on their website. It’s insane.
Dinosaur riding orcs are just amazing.
I'm so glad someone else is excited about that Padme pack! Lol, that one and the night sisters are the 2 that I am most excited about.
Shatterpoint will have clone commandos at Release me waiting still for Legion clone commandos since years now same with mace windu and plo koon
The legion world is hyped about Ewoks lol
Ewoks for a diorama. I can see one of my bonsai trees in a living display with them lil guys scouting about.
Greeting from Denmark.

Yeah I think they did to much show in Luck talking to Jubba scene and it was to sutle/not enough tell as to what the plan was.
The window into the brain… very philosophical!
I fall asleep within the first ten minutes of TPM, but always wake up when Duel of the Fates starts playing and Maul lights his saber.
MAGENTA, man! And, paint the brain in magnified distortin so you can easily represent it - go Jay!👍🏻🎅👍🏻
I love all of this. I love content that isnt about GW stuff. I love Conquest! I love Shatterpoint! Ive never even heard about the fallout game but that sounds dope. Even now as just recently ramped up hard to my first full GW army in 15 years I still want all of the non-GW mini painting content!
Yay Eowk!
if star wars legio nhad a jawa faction than i would get invested :3
Dark Horse Star Wars is a wildly underrated and great. Those made up the bulk of my comics and star wars fandom in the 00s
Ewoks are highly important to Han, Chewie, and Leia. Chief Chirpa was the pastor for Han and Leia's wedding. I'm also highly excited about Padme and crew!

Really like how this video thumb nail showed up right next to Tabletop Minions thumb nail.
I love Ewoks!
Dude, Villi !! Possibly one of the best things to come out of Dark Horse Star Wars 👌
I'm enjoying this venturing out month so far. You make the best content Jay (and Nick)... Most excited to see your paint jobs on the Shatterpoint minis! You've got me wanting Arena Rex though
I'm definitely interested in Shatterpoint and that Mace Windu mini makes me want to pick some up!

There's a story in one of the star wars tales comics about the guy to which Lando Calrissian steals the armor to infiltrate into Jabba's palace, the title is "skreeje"
I agree Padme and the handmaid's are awesome...!!
Limited edition boba on reincor or Mando with dark saber and Grogu. Would have been a big win in my book.
If the texture is anything like on my tanks, it was probably from the stippling with the dry brush, possibly having a bit to much paint on the drybrush, or continuing to over stipple in a specific spot.
I love ewoks, but I'm pretty old lol
I'd be down for Ewoka
I am trying to curb my hobby spending but fuck I would love to get into conquest for the city states
100% Yay Ewoks. I'll be picking them up right when they are available.
Having some exodite eldar on a prehistoric "maiden world" board would be really cool
That is inaccurate. Brontosaurus was separated from the apatasaurus genus back in 2015. The original specimen was of questionable provenance, but recently was recognized as a closely related but seperate genus.
Annnnnddddd.... I'm a dinosaur nerd too.
@iuribranco7593
"Other than that"? Lol my man got heated he called a dinosaur by its classic, well-known name hahaha
@@nobodyimportant5417 I came to say the same too. Brontosaurus is back and a clear part of the dinosaur family tree
If you like Ashoka's arc from the Clone Wars then you should absolutely watch that final season of Rebels. I'm similar to you in that I liked Clone Wars way more than Rebels but that last season has some great stuff in it.

You could make the dome almost entirely misted and one small unmisted window that you can see the brain.
The hand maidens actally got me interested in shatterpoint
Ewoks = YES. And I’m stoked about shatter point and the rebels pack!!!
I'm here for all things ewok!
100% yay ewoks. Makes me want to play and I love everything starwars!
Speaking of brains in bowls, I have a plan - cast the dome, then sculpt and paint a brain, then put the brain in the cast and pour in clear resin. All that is the reason I've not yet built any Votann Ironkin, although I wasn't thinking brains.
Good “how” this week. 10/10
I’m all about the Ewok life
I would love Naboo Security Forces in SW Legion, that would be soo cool and it'd be a 'shut up and take my money' type of moment
Did you try to convince Para Bellum to use the acronym CLAK instead of TLAOK?
Hand goes up for Ewok excitement 😮
I wasnt planning on playing shaterpoint but after the reveals of future release I may have to, especially the padme and handmaiden set, if not to play just paint
Big excited for my guy Plo Koon
I want a Star Wars Legion Ewok army!!!!!
Ewoks are awesome. That's all
This is true, ewoks are the best
Ventress was there before Tano 2003 Clone Wars baybee haha
I remember seeing Phantom Menace in the movie theater with my friends when it first released. We were so fucking hyped. I think we were in eighth grade at the time. I loved it then and it still has a special place in my heart, regardless as to society’s opinion.
Crazy that the legion piece isn't painted well. Black should have way more color in the highlights imo.
Awesome Queen Amidala and her handmaidens I know who I’m using in shatterpoint lol
I'd want eighth brother, he is a complete goober but I like his design.
Totally here for Ewoks. Interesting that you like Jar Jar but think Ewoks are silly. I mean, to each their own.
Legion quietly dropped Asajj too and have Commander cody coming
Re Return of the Jedi: I think he genuinely thought that he could get through to Jabba, either by reason or threatening him with a Thermal Detonator but ultimately their main plan was to seemingly get everyone in position for maximum mayhem. 5:27 beak things!
You know the epic campaign great Cthullhu from Cthullhu dead may die? He is collossal!
OK hear me out. Chewie and ewok At-St!
Hey Jay!
What if you themed your robots in fww as parts of the mechanist from fallout 4?
Best "How?" ever... spat out me tea
Ewoks are bad ass...yes they are important to star wars fans..
Hey I love your content I only just started painting miniatures because of you and I love it
WE'RE GETTING THE "PLO'S BROS" SQUAD!!
A few things about the Inquisitors:
1) Vader and Palpatine made sure they never got too powerful. They are NOT Sith, and not meant to be able to challenge the true Sith Lords for supremacy. They are meant to mop up padawans and has-beens and flag Vader if they find anything too much to handle.

"I prefer sticky" - Jay 2023😂
Would've love to see some videos painting these up
Your take on Phantom Menace is extremely Based and Correct.
I saw it in theatres when I was like NINE and it's been one of my favorite Star Wars movies ever since despite being Objectively Bad.
(Also thank you for covering Shatterpoint. Thus far it's the ONLY miniature game I've managed to get my spouse even somewhat excited about, LOL!)
