Advice on the speeders The Separatists are less organized than the Republic. Often resources are being moved around a lot, and it's much easier to simply leave things equipped the way they are. The separatists may focus more on equipping new units correctly, than recalling already functional units for refits, to save on travel time. I'd say you base them Geonosis style, then add some matching Geonosian dust sparingly to the existing paint job. These Droids WERE deployed to Naboo, but were recalled following the loss, and redeployed on Geonosis to defend the hidden agendas there. Now you have a story! These are droids that were present for the two best Star Wars movies! Also, Star Wars Republic Commandos might give some good inspiration for kitbashing some unique Geonosian warriors.
Yes The Geonosians are supposed to look like the B1 droids cuz in lore they’re actually their creators and they designed the battle droids after themselves
I bet jay is the kind of guy to make the weird geonosian blaster sounds. I occassionally say the death cries of the podracers to myself before i sleep, the way one goes "nwaaaaaaaaaaahh" before a tusken raider blows his head off jfk style.
The brown naboo staps actually are the unpainted versions, so you could technically just throw on a geonosis base (and maybe recolor the droid pilots) and keep em in the army
In the old canon/EU the Seperatist kept using brown vehicles all throughout the war. Brown Vulture Droids for example are seen in the Battle of Coruscant in the 2003 Clone Wars. And even in the new Disney canon there were brown AATs in the first Episode of the Bad Batch. So the brown STAP aren't a problem lore wise and look even better than blue ones in desert terrain in my opinion.
Worst movie? Bruh you're going to say the Phantom Menace or Attack of the Clones is worst than the movie that's most notable line is "Somehow Palpatine returned"
For the STAPs, why not put them on grey/metal coloured bases with some reddish dirt. The idea could be that they're inside the droid factories on Geonosis? That way, the nice Naboo colours wouldn't clash but there would be enough reddish dust that it'd clearly be the same army?
I'm really exited to get my hands on those models as well. For context, i proxy all named characters in my CIS army so it makes sense that they could fight any of the other factions. The proxies i did for Poggle and Sun Fac were a pair of night sisters and i plan on painting the the Geonosians as zombie thralls (with guns). My little head canon is that the night sisters are mind controlling those worms that make the zombie Geonosians which is significantly easier then mind controlling the Geonosians outright. Anyway, just really exited to get my hands onto these models. As for that little quandary about your CIS army, I'd love to see you try a simplified version for the b1 battle droids from republic commando. I think a white and black with some rust would look really good on those bases. Also, maybe you could try using dirty down rust (i think that's the name but if not, its that liquid that dries to look like rust) on non metallic paint for the rust effect. I'd be really cool if it worked.
I've totally painted the base rims to match the original colors of each faction, feels like something that's fairly unique to the game and had to preserve it. With all the multi-faction units now that's gotten a bit messed up but still go with the scheme and base color for whichever faction I intended to use them with when I bought them. Dropping manuals is a pain but makes sense. What is completely unforgivable though is that they still print unique sheets for each box but then they don't take you to the exact page you need.
Inspired by one of your videos I painted up my primaris captain with relic shield from the command edition starter box as a Lamenter and honestly painting checks and free handing the chapter logo was very fun and worth the challenge.
It's cool that they're putting photos on the models in today's boxes because I have memories of going to model shops and seeing cool art of the airplanes, tanks and spaceships but thinking HOW DOES THE ACTUAL THING LOOK I think we could have the art on the front and the photos in the back, would be a good compromise
I love that you're painting more Legion minis. Have you thought of painting the Shadow Collective and their Mandalorians? I have some mandos that I got a bunch of different mando helms for and painted each squad in different colors to represent different Mandalorian clans.
I'd say keep the Staps as they are just consider them painted in a camo for Geonosis. They're kinda a scout unit so it makes sense they'd want them to blend it to make it harder to spot them when they are trying to hide themselves and their vehicles.
I was stumped as well on the CIS, especially sinc I already used trenches, forest and temples on other factions, until I had an epiphany : it's mostly a robot army, so they should have terminator bases, with the brow/tan dirt, blueish concrete and human skulls. All to recreate the future sequences from Terminator 1 and 2 (screw the brown filter of 4).
Sweet paint job on all of them. As for the colors, just redo the bases to match up the new paint jobs and say they're reinforcements and/or in-process refurbs that got called in?
Wondering if you’ll be checking out the new Halo Miniature Game by Mantic Games, just announced like a week ago. Hopefully we’ll be getting it by the end of the year
If you set your army during the second battle then not only can you take later war units like tacitucal and super tactical droids but it also makes sense that st that point in the war they wouldnt bother repainting cannon fodder then it all works.
What scale are these? Im searching for some Stormtroopers in 1/48 to replace the Imperial troopers piloting the Bandai AT-ST. I need 3: 2 seated at the controls, 1 standing in the cupola, hands posed as if holding the grips of a heavy repeating blaster.
If you ever get the opportunity, ever wondered what a Asari (Mass Effect), a Togruta & a Twi'lek (Star Wars) would look like, when fused together? And how alien could it then look, while still looking humanoid & attractive? Human type of legs or more horse/Quarian/Turian? Have you thought about adding in a terrain piece? Something that came from Tatioone? There, a reason for those colors. Now where is that Jedi, that stole a droid bike???
Amazing, as usual, now on Etsy there are similar minis 3D printed, on request the maker can print them also in 28mm scale. P.s. please, don't get rid of your droids, after all the CIS had so many fronte(read:planets) that surely they would've employed units from every part of their territories, so logically there would be a great variety of paint scheme.
Attack of the Clones at least gave us The Clones,Dooku,Jango Fett,Kamino and the Genosians. What did the sequels give us? Yeah the First Order was kinda cool but that's it
The prequel trilogy is actually very good. Especially episode one. I mean sure Jar Jar and young Vader can be arguably annoying. However the Droids and political strive are very very interesting!
I loved the red droids on Geonosis! You should start fresh with new droids. Or maybe you can keep the old ones as a personal squad of a visiting general, but with a larger force of red ones as the army stationed on Geonosis
I actually prefer the old box, you still get to see the physical minis in the back of the box so i think that getting the really cool artwork on the front is better
I'd vote to keep the droids, match the bases and they'll be fine, especially as you want quite a few droid squads and its easier to tell them apart if they're painted a bit differently.
damn this pretty cool. i have an idea for a painting video ( just a suggestion i think would be cool to see you do). have you checked out corvus belli's infinity line of minis? they have some cool sculpts. my favourite is the knights of panOceania, some really cool futuristic knights.
Oh my God, the box design is one of dozens mind-bogglingly weird and nonsensically absurd little changes applied by amg that honestly make me scratch my head. I am close to having a fucking skull fracture from all this scratching. Like, why did they need to do it if there was always a photo of the minies at the back of the box? Why sacrifice the slickness and coolness of a well composed art piece for the boringess of the most basic photo ever? A change for changes' sake. Like most of what they do with the license unfortunately, which makes me sad. There, here is a comment from a guy angry at boxes. 😅
Leave the speeders as they are and strip the ones on food and repaint them. Or leave both as they are, some driods stationed elsewhere, or that happen to have been painted is fine and adds variety :)

"woootini!"
@@gunslingerspartan AHHHHHHHHHHHH AH AH AH AHHHHHHHHHHHH
My little brother does a perfect "De wanna wannga" he pulls out every once in a while. Gotta hit him with that "Oh my" every time
Jay do NOT get rid of those beautiful STAP's!!!! Maybe make them into a little diorama where they attack Qui-gon, Obi-wan and Jar Jar in the forest.
Realising Jay was born in 1995 and thinking "Oh that's not so long ago" - cripes he's not even 30 and I'm feeling extra ancient right now.
I saw you snapping it off the base when taking it off the paint handle @7:45 😅
lol came to find this comment
meh we've all been there haven't we?
He's just like me!
Those are some good looking Vespid models
2 week turn around from filming to posting is actually incredible given the quality of these videos. 5 stars would recommend

0:42 those handmaid's robes look fantastic! (Chef's kiss)

It’s always a good day when jay covers legion minis!
Your painting videos have been really motivating me to get to my own desk and paint. Thanks, Jay!
The Prequel Trilogy isn't the worst thing, nor is it bad.
Last Jedi
I didn’t realise they made minis for Sex and the City 2.
7:46 I tensed up so hard when the base broke I’ve done that too many times to count
I'm really exited to get my hands on those models as well. For context, i proxy all named characters in my CIS army so it makes sense that they could fight any of the other factions. 7:45 rip base

can't wait for you to do a clone army would be cool to see different types of clones armor wise that is
If you get battle droids paint them like the grey ones from republic commandos it would look cool
Inspired by one of your videos I painted up my primaris captain with relic shield from the command edition starter box as a Lamenter and honestly painting checks and free handing the chapter logo was very fun and worth the challenge.
Come on… that wallpaper was low blow :D
7:45 made me wince a bit :') Love the paintjob, though. Definitely a combination of contrast paints to keep in mind!
JAY, you’re my hero! I preserve my base rims as well!
The constant din of their sonic weapons blasting away in Battlefront 2 (2005) will always be a weird bit of PTSD
It's cool that they're putting photos on the models in today's boxes because I have memories of going to model shops and seeing cool art of the airplanes, tanks and spaceships but thinking HOW DOES THE ACTUAL THING LOOK
I think we could have the art on the front and the photos in the back, would be a good compromise
also keep those droid ones cause what if you have a battle and you play with the droids and your on a different planet
The nostalgia for the shiny new format of DVD absolutely sending me rn 😂
I love that you're painting more Legion minis. Have you thought of painting the Shadow Collective and their Mandalorians? I have some mandos that I got a bunch of different mando helms for and painted each squad in different colors to represent different Mandalorian clans.
The zombie bugs from the show were so cool
Oopsie @ 7:46 broke the mini of the base :D
I totally thought there were the new Vespids from the thumbnail. Crazy how close the poses look.
I'd say keep the Staps as they are just consider them painted in a camo for Geonosis. They're kinda a scout unit so it makes sense they'd want them to blend it to make it harder to spot them when they are trying to hide themselves and their vehicles.
👍👍 All looking great!
The secret sauce for black bases is absolutely dressing them off instead of painting them 😊👌
Might need to pick up some these for Vespid Stingwings proxy/conversion for my Tau Empire army...
It's super random but when i saw those amber gems on Amadala I was immediately hoping you painted a Jurassic Park mosquito trapped in one of them
Always love to see legion on the channel. Ive got 2 boxes of these on order and this paint scheme is perfect
Lol, "Say it with me now." Me: Cork! You: "Epic basing bits"
Damn they would make a great Vespid proxy for the Tau
Sweet paint job on all of them. As for the colors, just redo the bases to match up the new paint jobs and say they're reinforcements and/or in-process refurbs that got called in?
Wondering if you’ll be checking out the new Halo Miniature Game by Mantic Games, just announced like a week ago. Hopefully we’ll be getting it by the end of the year
Can't wait to add these boys to my droid army! Love seeing legion get the love it deserves!
give the stabs a marking that reads as support unit from naboo. like a geonosian red stripe or something like that
Them buggies do look amazing!! Definitely nailed the box art!! Thanks gents!! Fantastic as always!!!
If you set your army during the second battle then not only can you take later war units like tacitucal and super tactical droids but it also makes sense that st that point in the war they wouldnt bother repainting cannon fodder then it all works.
1:08 - You let us know you were born in 1995. I'd been playing 40K for 15 years by that time. Damn, I feel old. 😥
Imagine my dismay when the OG core box had Bespin Luke and ROTJ Rebel Troopers.
Lol at 7:45/6 you broke him off his base. Nice handling there. But love the content and the videos.
Those look great! Keep the Legion content coming!
The Darth Vader comic has a Geonosan/battle droid hybrid. Good inspiration for a potential kitbash!
I do like the way you painted the droids, especially the rocket launcher weapons. Would love to see how those are painted in a future video.
Make several, time period accurate, droid armies. That way you get variety in units, paints and theme!
I still have that battle damage Geonosian ain the living room. My daughter now plays with it.
What scale are these? Im searching for some Stormtroopers in 1/48 to replace the Imperial troopers piloting the Bandai AT-ST. I need 3: 2 seated at the controls, 1 standing in the cupola, hands posed as if holding the grips of a heavy repeating blaster.
You should really do more Star Wars Legion videos. They are great and your miniatures look awsome.
I definitely prefer to see models on the boxes. I like actually knowing what I’m going to get!
I liked the music in this one, great vid!
I paint the rim of the base in whatever the primary colour of the model would be
Love the Legion content!!! I am a BIG fan of AMG/FFG Star Wars games. Keep up the GREAT work!
Use the STAPS, some gungans, and a few other bits to make an epic diorama for the shelf? Then start the geonosis army fresh 😁
Easy choice Jay! : paint a droid army for Genosis and one for Naboo 😅
I've got a question, why do you use wood glue instead of something like pva glue to glue the sand and other basing bits?
Amazing, as usual, now on Etsy there are similar minis 3D printed, on request the maker can print them also in 28mm scale.
P.s. please, don't get rid of your droids, after all the CIS had so many fronte(read:planets) that surely they would've employed units from every part of their territories, so logically there would be a great variety of paint scheme.
I prefer the new boxes only because I frame up the posters in dollar tree frames for the game room. The art on the posters is pretty great!
Attack of the Clones at least gave us The Clones,Dooku,Jango Fett,Kamino and the Genosians. What did the sequels give us? Yeah the First Order was kinda cool but that's it
Last Jedi Worst movie ever
The prequel trilogy is actually very good.

Heh I wa watching Phantom Menace over and over again at my grandpa. It was awesome and he was cool with it :)
I loved the red droids on Geonosis! You should start fresh with new droids. Or maybe you can keep the old ones as a personal squad of a visiting general, but with a larger force of red ones as the army stationed on Geonosis
"Worst movie ever" seems you have not seen "the rise of Skywalker" I still want the hours of Lifetime Back, I wasted on that "piece of Art"
The Geonosians always looked so cool to me.
Honestly, I would start over. Add some B2 super battle droids to the mix (they were in the Arena and on the sands of Geonosis too)
"There was a difference of opinion"
"The Phantom Menace?"
Those bug bois look sooooo great! I may need to pick some up to see if I can do a job half that good. 😅
Tau Vespids you say?
I actually prefer the old box, you still get to see the physical minis in the back of the box so i think that getting the really cool artwork on the front is better
I'd vote to keep the droids, match the bases and they'll be fine, especially as you want quite a few droid squads and its easier to tell them apart if they're painted a bit differently.
To be fair, the Second Battle of Geonosis was one of the best arcs in The Clone Wars, so it'd make a good army theme.
BRING IN THE FLAMETHROWERS.
damn this pretty cool. i have an idea for a painting video ( just a suggestion i think would be cool to see you do). have you checked out corvus belli's infinity line of minis? they have some cool sculpts. my favourite is the knights of panOceania, some really cool futuristic knights.
Really love home they came out! Especially the bases look awesome 🤩
Also there is the shadow collection as well
Hi, what's that "light pastel green" that you used? If you can tell all paints that you used, I would love that
beautiful paintjob on Amidala
Oh my God, the box design is one of dozens mind-bogglingly weird and nonsensically absurd little changes applied by amg that honestly make me scratch my head. maybe keep the STAPs as an shelf decoration and base it like its naboo
Nothing against your other videos, but I love the ones when you are painting all your cool items.
I have an idea just make two droid armies, one for Naboo and the other for Geonosis.
I've often wondered why you were so into the Prequels. Now that I know how old you were when you watched them, I get it.
You do you, Jay!
I'd love to see this guy get his hands on a gundam model the customization would be so good
I always enjoy Eons videos and the models came out great as always!
I do army color coded base rims for my warhammer armies
It should be art on the front, pictures of the actual models on the back like the good ol WHFB days
You could make BF2 inspired armies. Paint however you want. If the bases match, its all that matters
Leave the speeders as they are and strip the ones on food and repaint them. Or leave both as they are, some driods stationed elsewhere, or that happen to have been painted is fine and adds variety :)
i don't think the brown is necessarily wrong. in the background of revenge of the Sith at the beginning there is a brown droid carrier so yea.
