    This is a great breathing practice, there are a lot of amazing benefits from this but it is not holotropic breathwork. Holotropic breathwork is a trademarked activity that incorporates repetitive rhythmic music that encourages the breather to reach an altered state of consciousness. Holotropic breathwork sessions last 2-3 hours without any breath holds. Official holotropic breathwork can only be lead by certified instructors that obtain a certification from the Grof Foundation after completion of a 600-hour training course. I feel this is important to point out as there are a lot of different styles and terms for different breathing practices and people should know the differences to each of the different methods of breathing so one can choose the practice that best suits them. This style of breathing is more commonly referred to as dynamic breathwork or the Wim Hof method as made popular by Wim Hof himself.

      I disagree! Are you a Groff rep? The only times it takes 2-3 hours to illicit an altered state of consciousness is those that are new to this work. I’ve never had a “Groff” session but I have healed years of trauma from sexual abuse and combat with these types of breathing exercises. In the beginning it took a couple hours now within minutes I’m in another dimension. To anyone one reading this message you are enough and everything you need is inside of you, don’t talk about it breathe about it.

    I successfully completed the practice fully on my third attempt-what an amazing feeling! Despite feeling somewhat nervous about my muscles being very stiff, I pushed through thanks to my wife monitoring me. Towards the end, I experienced a sensation of detachment in my body, especially in my limbs. It felt like my arms were floating, even though they remained grounded the entire time. Upon finishing, I noticed my entire body was soaked in sweat. Since I was on an extended water fast, I'm unsure if this reaction was unique. Thanks for sharing. 😊

    So, my experience was that trying to keep pace with the recorded breathing was too fast for me. I was only comfortable completing one breath cycle per 7.5 recorded cycles (one inhalation followed by an exhalation). During the period where you hold your breath, I was comfortable and felt no anxiety to breath. Also I noted that when I tried to keep up with the recorded breathing, it really burned my sinuses. Like walking outside at -30 kind of burning. Not enjoyable. Does anyone have any options on my self analysis?

      @nastasiamarquez6472  5 месяцев назад

      @trud6346 I see, I have a video posted on proper breathing technique that I think you'll find helpful. It will take practice, but it's worth it. And another issue might be the breath hold. Make sure when you're holding that you're not "sitting" and putting all the pressure on your lungs. Allow your body to continue supporting its shape. If you need to direct that pressure somewhere, perhaps think to energetically send it to you head.

  • @Leedaegoon1
    @Leedaegoon1 9 месяцев назад

    Question: Despite attempting it twice, I failed to complete it due to feeling scared by the intense tingling sensation and stiffness in my body. This reaction was unfamiliar, as I've been practicing Wim Hof breathing for about a month and am accustomed to the tingling sensation but not the stiffness. Is this a normal reaction, and should I continue despite it?
    Regardless, my moods have been uplifted. Thank you for sharing!

    • @nastasiamarquez6472
      @nastasiamarquez6472  9 месяцев назад +2

      stiffness, some people call it lobster claws, or feel certain body parts lock up is a sign of changing levels between CO2 and oxygen in your blood. Wim Hof sometimes says it oxygenizing. It's nothing to be concerned about, and the more you get used to pushing that oxygen into your system the better your body will feel. I think it's a great sign that you're becoming more effective at flushing oxygen into your system!

      @nastasiamarquez6472  2 месяца назад

      Hey! Thanks for the comment. As you strengthen your breath work practice you'll find that technique is a huge component to creating efficient full breaths very quickly. Many of us have been breathing inefficiently for most of our lives. So, don't stress it. I would say make your priority to take full satisfying breaths before trying to keep up. The number one focus is DONT strain your neck or your throat when making the effort. I have a video talking about proper breath support that might help you.
