    Been flying SB for a couple months now..love it.. Have it up and flying in a 7" Glide with the medium range board and sitting on my desk with a USB cable sticking out of it waiting for betaflight is a flywoo explorer 4" with the whoop board and a AIO FC that's way under 250 grams.... I've replaced the front plates on the goggles VRX with 3d printed ones that let me bring out SMA connectors (ufl on the board) so I can use different patches or CP's if I want...I ended up with a CP on one side and a Maarten Baert patch on the other where the OEM patches used to live..

    Hey @TMac friendly tip: in your video editor, add a filter to the voice over audio tracks and apply a normalize to -9db (theres one in Premiere, Davinci and the sony one. There should be something similar in all others too). That should make you much easier to hear over the sound effects. Keep up the good videos :)

    I'm new to fpv and I already want to build my first quad after watching this vid 😁 I was told by several fpv guys to stay away from HD but after tons of research I don't think latency is much of an issue especially for me since I'm not racing nor am I around other pilots....I think they just want the goggles for themselves lol I'm flying analog and it's not bad but I much rather fly HD and it seems like sharkbyte is a cheaper way to go HD I'm just not yet familiar with the hardware needed for sharkbyte applications this was a very informative video 👍✌

I am in a fued with DJI right now so I am not really happy with them most of the time. I am a long time customer and Aerial photographer, but it's not their products that disappoint me. It's the way they treat customers. Unfortunately we cannot deny the products as much as FPV guys have tried almost all of them own and use the DJI system now. You just can't hardly get around it. I'm fully invested in DJI system (discovered the hobby in July 2020) and find it works great on my 3". I even have it on my daughter's sub 250g 2". Nevertheless, I found your video interesting. Great tutorial for SB installation for those who choose to go that route. My biggest concern would be range with 200mW output although I have never flown analog so I don't have a good comparison base.

    • @TMacFPV

      That's great Jan! Correct, 200mW is not for "long range" as I indicate in the video referencing FatShark's User Manual which acknowledges this. You can get about 1.5km on 200 mW which is more than enough for me

I'm going down the Shark Byte/HD Zero route because of fiscal reality for us retired folks. I'm also rooting for shark, I mean HD Zero to continue development, which they have done at a brisker pace than Sharkbyte did. The plus being, it's on an open source technology, available to all of us, unlike DJI, which is all proprietary, and still insists on telling you where you can fly your Drone:-)

    • @TMacFPV
      @TMacFPV  3 года назад

      Hey Justin! Thanks for the question. I'm not sure if you're aware of this or not. The two white squares on the front of the Shark byte module are patch (directional) antennae that it comes stock with. Therefore, unless you'll be flying "directly" in front of you in a rather narrow beam width, it makes sense to add omnidirectional antennae to the other two connectors. I have a Lumenier Double AXII attached vertically to one of my other connectors and a Lumenier Stubby AXII attached horizontally to the other. This "stubby" AXII is therefore 90 degrees to the other AXII. This, in theory, gives me better reception overhead (where the vertically oriented AXII may have nulls. I4 dire3ctional antennae pointed in the same direction may give you better reception in that one direction. Also, you MAY be able to get better reception by replacing the stock patch antennae with higher gain (and therefore narrower beam width) directional antennae. Of course, this would mean you would need to know the spec's of the stock patch antennae Shark Byte comes with so you could actually improve upon them. I'm going to give you a link to a YT video of someone who has swapped out the stock patch antennae with X-Air antennae and then attached omnis to the other connectors. He believes he's getting better reception with the patch antennae swap out. for me, with the flying I do, my setup works absolutely great for me. No need for me to swap anything out. Hope this helps. Here's the link to the patch swap out video ruclips.net/video/wg1-Qw9SRNA/видео.html

      On a scale from 1 to 10 (10 being best), I'd say my analog rapidFIRE is about a 5. Shark Byte is about an 8. For me, the view in my Skyzone 03O from Shark Byte is much better. What really impresses me though is how much less break-up/interference there is with Shark Byte. rapidFIRE was a definite improvement in image quality with less break-up than just using stock Skyzone goggle RXs. I'd say there's more of an improvement going from rapidFIRE to Shark Byte than there was going from SkyZone stock RX modules to rapidFIRE.

      Not sure how familiar you are with Shark Byte OSD or not. The User Manual shows what OSD elements are supposed to be available (think I show them in this video also). The elements that display for me with this VTX (TX5S.1) are RQLY (for Crossfire), which is enabled through "RSSI," battery voltage, GPS Sats, GPS Lat, GPS Long, GPS distance from home, GPS home direction, and OSD Warnings. I am currently not getting VTX channel or power, nor am I getting Craft Name. However, there's a firmware update Fatshark is currently working on (to be released this Spring?) which is supposed tofix some OSD elements and also give the Shark Byte system 1080p HDMI out.

    Byte vs dji ??

    • @TMacFPV
      @TMacFPV  3 года назад +1

      I've not flown DJI and from what I understand, the DJI image quality is currently better than Shark Byte. However, there's also other aspects of each to consider. Such as, I believe Shark Byte system has less latency. Its screen also doesn't "lock up" all of a sudden when your video signal gets weak and take a long time to recover (meanwhile you're flying blind). Shark Byte will slowly "pixelate" to let you know you're losing video signal (although I haven't had any video reception issues with it). Shark Byte has a lightweight, single-board VTX for smaller quads (4" props & less, to include Whoops). If you already have a nice pair of analog goggles, the Shark Byte video receiver module (VRX) which can be used with those goggles is only about $250-$270, rather than needing to purchase another new $570 goggles. New firmware "coming soon" I've heard for Shark Byte system with some improvements also. Maybe this Spring?🤔I'm not disparaging DJI. To each, his own. Whatever works for you and makes your flying fun!😁👍

    Jesus Christ loves you so much and He will save us from our sins if we put our faith and trust in Him! because we all sinned and fell short of Gods perfect glory (romans 3:23) and the wages of sin is eternal death! (romans 6:23) but the gift of God is this
    john 3:16-21
    "for God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. this is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposes. but whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God."
    and romans 10:9-13
    "if you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. for it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. as scripture says, "anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame. "for there is no difference between Jew and Gentile - the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on Him, for, "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
    so God is coming at a time we least expect, and if we put our faith and trust in Him He will gift us His grace and clothe us with the righteousness of His blood (but of course death could not hold Him, He is risen!) and we will have eternal life in His kingdom where there will be there will be no more death, or sorrow, or crying. there will be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. because He loves you so much! (romans 5:6-8) but if we deny and reject Him and don't repent from our sins to follow God, then we will have our part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. because no liar, no thief, no blasphemer (using Gods name in vain as a cuss word to express anger or disgust) and no adulterer (Jesus Christ says in matthew 5 that anyone who just looks at someone to lust for they’re an adultery at heart) will enter the kingdom of heaven. so hear these words, repent and believe the gospel! accept Jesus Christ and confess your sins to Him so that He will forgive you and give you a life with truth and real love and joy and peace that this world can never give you or fulfill in you you! and the love and joy and peace that He will give you will never fade away or perish. this is all if you haven't done this yet and Jesus Christ hasn't saved you yet, also when you have time please you should watch this channel here on youtube called "Christ forgiveness ministries" and hear what they have to say, glory to God.
