Selling a guitar to a fan for "more than what it cost in the store" sounds EXACTLY like what Gene & Paul would do but, it pisses them off if Vinnie does it.

I think the difference you're missing is that the prices Gene and Paul set might be ridiculous, but they aren't being dishonest. What they find unethical is Vinnie straight up lying and saying some random guitar he's played maybe once or twice is a beloved favorite he's owned for a long time. Do I think a VIP package, even if I would get to meet the band, is worth $10,000? *Jesus, no.* But, if someone pays the $10k, they can't say they got ripped off - they got exactly what was advertised to them.
His twin daughters both live a few miles away from me. I've seen them around, but don't know them. A buddy's daughter works at one of their hair salons. Said they're really nice people, but want nothing to do with Vinnie.
Great songs although I do find the vocals on both grating at times. One can only wonder how they would have sounded as Kiss tracks had BOTH parties recognised the potential of the relationship and reigned it in a little...

Like him or not and joking about him is fun and all, nobody should disregard and deny the contributions he's made to KISS and the real musical talent he's gifted with. And all the shit hes been through, outside of music, is devastating
Cry me a river....ACE was on that album cover for the first year and we went to see them only to find someone who looked in drag.......🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 He didn't ADD to their sound.....when Ace and Peter left most fans lost interest. They need a schtick, so they hurried through "lick it up" and took off the makeup to try to get their fans back.....I went back long enough to look at the album cover and I was THROUGH. A. Too many sources indicate this. However, Vinnie probably didn’t sign that band agreement with Kiss because he wasn’t treated as anything but a hired gun, where Ace was more of a partner. This documentary mentioned nothing regarding his contribution to writing parts of “Kiss - Revenge”. His gifts are undeniable.
To my understanding, anyone after Peter and Ace, all other people to join Kiss are and were considered hired guns leaving Paul and Gene to be the boss.
However they (KISS) had a rule. Anyone not an original member (including Eric Carr) were employees of the band. Actually a very sneaky (but legal) way of not paying anymore the same amount as an original member.
True. Vinnie may be a fucked up guy, but his skills saved KISS' ass in the Eighties. And Revenge is one of KISS' greatest albums, regardless of era. Not too into the VVI stuff but yeah, the guy definitely has the goods. As for contracts, I can see that. Unfortunately, Creatures Of The Night didn't sell like expected, it wasn't a commercial success at the time. If things had been different, maybe Paul and Gene would had seen the value of his contribution a little better and offered him a better contract. Lick It Up was a success, but soon after, he was gone.
@@stanleybroniszewsky8538true, but Vinnie wrote or co- wrote around two-thirds of the songs on the two Kiss albums he performed on… seems like he does have some reason to complain about the terms he was offered.
Gene and Paul actually have personal relationships and friends. Vinnie is not capable of that. But the ignorance level with that comment is off the charts.
My engineer bill matoyer said during the recording of Vinnie guitar they had him in the studio next door and could still you could hear him out onto street ha ha he used like 4 marshall stacks which is rediculous for recording guitar tracks crazy dude !!
"Sold a guitar to a fan for more than it cost in the store....." The tone of voice suggests Paul and Gene are pissef off that they didn't think of that first and Vinnie didnt give them a percentage.
At this point in Kisstory when Vinnie came along it was the Gene and Paul band, not Kiss. While only with Kiss for a couple of years, he got to wear the new Ankh makeup. Then take it off. Which set up Kiss for their union tour later down the line. Vinnie gave Kiss a boost with his guitar playing and songwriting that they sorely needed. Remember Music from the Elder? That's what Paul and Gene were up to before Vinnie came along. Plus, they had had enough dealing with Ace and Peter and weren't about to let anyone, especially a new guitar player or drummer, ruin their band. Like it or not Vinnie was good for Kiss at the time but he came with all of his eccentricities as a package deal. Gene and Paul tried to keep him on a short leash. Some people are made for that, Vinnie was not. It's just too bad the Gene and Paul band wouldn't swallow their pride and include the past members of Kiss in their End of the Road World Tour. I would have gone to see that.
I am a KISS fan since 1973. As soon as I saw the "Lick It Up" video I hung up on KISS until he was gone. His playing is all over the place. He has talent but little restraint. Peace!
The problem with that w*nky style is you've spent so many of your waking hours learning it, it's all you want to do. And you need to keep doing it all the time to keep on top of it!
I think Mr Weird would have been a better character than the ankh warrior. I listen to his work every few years, but have never found anything musical about his playing-just sloppy fast with no feel or melody. But thats just me-I know some love him.
I was a teenager when kiss was popular and I remember really liking him. And I still feel that positivity. He has a kind of a star quality, it comes from him being so weird and so gifted and so smart. He has turned out some incredible tracks over the years. It's also clear that he struggles to fit in on this planet, and I think that makes a lot of us see ourselves in him. He is quite unique.
Vinnie was and still is his own worst enemy, he has sabotaged every single chance he's had. even was talking about a VVI box set and pre sold the set and never delivered it and ghosted the people he took money from. he's a great guitarist but a slimeball of a human being.
Vinnie felt betrayed when fans of VVI jumped ship and became "Slaughter" fans so he decided to get even and scam them re: pre-paid orders for a box set that never came. Vinnie also thought he was gonna cash in when "KISS" reunited in 96' with a frivilous lawsuit, thinking because they were raking in millions that tbey would just settle out of court with him which didn't happen leaving Vinnie more in debt now owing the "KISS" camp $82k for legal costs. And according to what I read he was nursing a costly cocaine habit throughout the 90's with his then wife Dianne and, that shit costs money ya know.
I like Kiss, but never followed them closely until recently. Didn't know much outside of their founding members. This was a very interesting/educating piece of rock history. Very glad I watched. Cool to see the beginnings of Slaughter as a side story.

Original Angel . . before the music business of rock and roll was filled w nasty, dishonest crooks and shady businessmen, the FIRST super-power producers were nothing but warm- hearted silly old men who went around making sure people felt good and that all the up&coming stars were emotionally healthy .... And not missing their parents too much what with being on the road/newly minted touring machines. I simply cannot believe that the daughter of Sir/Saint Donald Arden could or would ever stray away from the family's original mission statement: make sure everyone is happy... All the time!
I think they couldn’t con him . He may well be a flakey dude but I think it was his wilyness and not wanting to sign away his power in a bad contract that was the problem .
Paul and Gene truly deserve all of the accolades they've received over the years... They've worked hard and have great talent... But jeez they need to think before opening their mouths about previous band mates.... They've had to deal with alot but they're as deluded as the rest.... As for the fans both of them are guilty of fleecing fans for decades.... Never meet your hero's they could turn out to be proper lemons... 🤘
Mark Slaughter didn't sing on the first album. He appeared in the videos, and sang on the first tour. NO one musically could ever confuse his whiney pitched screeching with Robert Fleischman's incredibly powerful vocals
I had the distinct pleasure of talking with Vinnie at the NAMM way back.... myself and my drummer at the time hit it off with Vinnie and even talked about jamming. Vinnie was looking for a rhythm section then. He wasn't erratic at all, but instead a very motivated and talented guy trying to make his way in a cruel business.
I remember being in high school and watching the world premiere of the “Lick it Up” video on MTV followed by the live premiere of KISS without the makeup. It was hyped for weeks. The opening shot starts at the guys’ boots and slowly tilts up. When they showed Vinnie, me and my friend gasped “Oh my God, they hired a GIRL!!!” All these years later, turns out we were right! 😂. But hey, whatever.

@@DonnellOkafor-r2dcheers to you, brother. I firmly believe that music is meant to be enjoyed by ANYBODY--if you like how something sounds, if you connect with it, who CARES what the musicians look like, if they look like you or not. Also, any REAL guitarist will freely admit that so much of rock music owes its very existence to the old blues guitarists like Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, etc. You know, BLACK GUYS. 😮😅 (as well as Chuck Berry, though i hate mentioning the guy bc of his thing for underage girls--i hate EVERY grown man who pursues sex with underage peoples). All that said, VV 100% WAS/IS a weirdo 4sho. As are Simmons, Stanley, Frehley. This is why it's almost always best to limit our interest in musicians to their actual MUSIC, not their actual lifestyle choices.
Wow. I remember in Detroit when Vinnie Vincent's Invasion opened for Iron Maiden and got booed off stage in about 20 minutes. Waysted was supposed to be the opener but we got VVI instead for some reason.
Vinnie was a talented guitar player and song writer. He made KISS a MUCH HEAVIER band. Creatures of the Night is my favorite album outside of the first 6 studio albums. He co-wrote 14 songs on the two albums of which he was a member of KISS. That being said, there has to be a REASON why EVERYONE he played with saying that he was difficult to play with. I don't see an issue with his perfectionism. I don't have a problem with his demanding dedication from the bands he's in. In KISS, he had to realize that he was a hired gun, not a full member. With VVI, he needed to realize that there is a time and place to criticize bandmates. I could be in a band with Vinnie because there was a time that I WAS Vinnie. I was the perfectionist who demanded that my bandmates be able to play our music in their sleep... perfectly. I also demanded as much from ME, if not MORE. I suspect that Vinnie was harder on himself than he was on his bandmates. The only way a person gets as good as Vinnie was is by eating, drinking, and sleeping music. Most people don't have that dedication. That is always going to be a problem for those of us who DO.
KISS has a history of underpaying, minimizing contributions and making it VERY CLEAR that you are hired help and an employee. In 96 KISS did the same thing with Ace and Peter having them sign a contract stating that they were hired help and paid them as such. They would remind the 2 of them that Gene and Paul kept the band going. There was some success from that version of KISS in the mid to late 80s but nothing like the success of the original KISS. Ace and Peter was very underrepresented and very mismanaged causing constant riffs about money. Another thing they use to do is to send faxes threatening to “pull the plug” because of certain behaviors that were not allowed and that was spelled out in the contract. People need to remember that before the reunion tour that KISS was out on a convention tour of Holiday Inns. With egos like Paul and Gene I doubt very seriously that those 2 did Holiday Inn’s because they wanted too. Nope. KISS was irrelevant and on their way out at the time. They had a few minor hits like “Forever” a Michael Bolton song. Also, God gave Rock and Roll to you which was Eric Carrs last performance wearing a wig in the video. Eric Singer was the drummer on that song in the studio. Poor “Fox” he is missed.
Don`t forget that Peter was nearly and Ace was already two times broke in 1995. They all needed each other and the reunion very desperatly. Peter and Ace earned a ton of money during these years and became millionares again. In my opinion there was no reason for Gene and Paul to make Ace and Peter to full members again. It was planned one tour and in the end this line up lasted around another six years and than they had enough of each other, again.
@@helgelippert1970 According to Peter's autobiography, which I read, he still had $100,000 to his name when he got back with Kiss. That's not being broke to most people who live in reality. That's a rock star's version of broke.
@@helgelippert1970 I am not saying make them full members but pay them better than “hired help.” Again, this tour DOES NOT happen without Ace and Peter. If KISS was going to make it big again without the two original members they would have done it but they only experienced a small peak in their success during the 80s and barely holding on going into the 90s, thus the Hotel convention tours to make money. Gene and Paul screwed the fans by putting out the album , psycho Circus and not allowing Ace and Peter to play on it except one song each. They blamed it on their lack of ability which is crap because they already had played sold out stadiums all over the world. They could have fixed mistakes and issues with the tools available in the studio but they didn’t want to pay them future royalties. Gene and Paul don’t care about the fans it is the money. They would have lugged Peter and Ace around for years paying them peanuts doing the “Farewell Tour” that went on for 25 years playing the same songs offering nothing new except Sonic Boom selling a couple of hundred thousand copies? This is just my opinion my friend.
@@everydaystuffandthingsguy4554 Ace got 50K and Peter got 40K per show. I think that was a lot of money in the 90th. I paid 65 German Mark for a Reunion show ticket. At that time that was around 40 Dollars. Let's say 10.000 people came to the show. That was 400.000 dollar before costs. Ace and Peter got nearly 25 % of it. I don't know but for me it sounds fair. Do you really think that Ace does care about his fans? He tried so desperately to jump on the End of the Road tour and really thought, that the tour wouldn't be successful without him. He pokered to high and now he plays in tiny clubs. His band has to carry him musically more or less through the set. I wouldn't pay a cent to see him live. It is all about money, even Ace is at that point.
Vinnie's legacy will be a "coulda been" because his behavior constantly undermined his talent. Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley are hardly viewed favorably among many, but history has largely validated their positions concerning Vinnie. That should put his troubles into perspective. He was too erratic for his own good.
Vinnie should have had Goran Edman in as vocalist. There are already demos of the 1st lp with him on it. Monster vocalist. But Slaughter was the label's pretty boy that eventually paid off for them.Vinessa unfortunately has drifted off into lalaland, where Lane Bryant pantsuits are all the rage and cd boxsets are perpetually on the way.
@12:11- mark slaughter didn't sing lead vocals on the vinnie vincent invasion debut album. those were robert fleischman's lead tracks. mark slaughter wouldn't sing lead on a vvi studio album until all systems go.
And you know what? In doing so Vinnie very successfully made two mediocre records with non sensical solos, and non sensically shrill vocals. Mark sounds amazing on the Slaughter tunes. I can only guess, he would've made Vinnie's equally or moreso badass, if Vinnie hadn't been so narrow minded in what he wanted. I personally know Fleischman. I've never said som because I respect him professionally, but his vocal stylings are not my thing. I like Bon Scott, and Steve Marriott. Mark in my opinion, is a great fucking singer. Slaughter is NOT a hair metal band. They're hard Rock pop.
@@benjaminbaird9303 Actually, the first released album would have been pretty good if not for those horrific vocals that could peel paint. And his own vocals from his unreleased album prior to Kiss were not bad at all. The guy had some actual talent before he turned into Elizabeth Taylor.
The clips played from both Gene and Paul are probably the most genuine statements I’ve ever heard from them, both honest and devoid of what usually comes off to me as being ego and arrogance. Vinnie on the other hand when asked about his experience in the band does nothing but beat around the bush and uses a lot of words to essentially say nothing. Yeah, he’s a great guitarist, or at least used to be but he seems like a nightmare to work with and very shady. I can see why those he played with found him to be a problem. He doesn’t sound trustworthy to me…plus he’s just plain strange, but not in a good way.
I saw both of the KISS tours with Vinnie and he was incredible. And I mean INCREDIBLE. Sadly, somewhere along the way his mooring lines parted and he drifted off into uncharted waters. It's a pity because he really was good.
The only thing I know about Vinnie Vincent is he opened for Iron Maiden in Tulsa in 1987. That was my first concert ever and I was a Sr in High School. I have dinner about once a month with my friend who took me and we always talk about that. What an awesome experience!
What does VV think was going to happen? Stanley and Simmons would make him a full partner? That’s like a studio musician walking up to Henley and Frey and telling them how the Eagles were supposed to run.
Vincent single-handedly save KISS from sinking into irretrievable irrelevance. And as much of an egocentric he might have been (still is?), it was only the endless narcissism and craving for recognition and money of Simmons and Stanley that ended what could have become one of the greatest (rock) musical collaborations the world had seen. "Creatures of the Night" and "Lick it up" were two of their best albums, period. And his style and live sound made them an actual metal band.
I was never a fan of Vinnies guitar work or songwriting. Having said that, I do like that he used to refer to Paul Stanley as, "Mean Mister Mustard". Paul was following trends instead of setting them when he decided that KISS needed a shredder. Then, when that little scheme didn't work, Paul blames everyone else except himself, the one whom hired the shredder and personally approved every song and every solo. But no. Paul made Vinnie the problem he turned out to be. So remember kids, when your cheap schemes fail always try to ruin someone else's reputation. It will make you feel SO much better about being gay...errr...I mean...being angry...!!!!
It has to be Paul and Gene- and no one else. As soon as their lack pf ability is blindingly apparent, they blame someone else. Ace, Vinnie, Bruce (said fu to both of them in all actuality), and then they hired a kid that did EXACTLY as he was told, talented and stunted in personal growth as a musician by being there. I am a long time Kiss fan, but their antics over the years have hurt allot of good people. They being Paul and Gene. So fu both ;-)
The Merry Metal Christmas shows were not cancelled. First of all, there were not a series of MMC shows, there was one at SIR in Nashville. I attended this show and actually got to play drums with Vinnie on Lick it Up (surreal moment for sure). Then he had subsequent shows at SIR in Nashville, but each had its own theme and was not part of the Xmas show.
I read they were paying him $450 a week and he was forced to sell guitars because he couldn’t even pay his rent and he’s not the first hired gun that he said that about Simmons and Stanley think about who they are
@@marleyhatesyouall8394 That's less than $25,000 a year. That may have been good money for an unskilled laborer but, it's an insult for the guitarist of KISS. I wouldn't expect the new guy to make as much as Gene & Paul but, he shouldn't be making less than a carpenter or a plumber.
Phil Collins paid Leland Sklar 500 a week to tour with him in the early 90s.... Ozzy paid Jake E Lee about the same (his wife's idea) and he wasn't the only one. The attitude of all these larger groups is "we can get anybody we want" and if they ask for more they'll get replaced with somebody who will do it for less. Not saying its right, just how it is.
As well as all his expenses on the road covered. His weekly pay (that came whether on the road or not) went straight in his pocket. On top of royalties. I can’t remember the actuals of his pay or the math, but it was a decent chunk of change at the time.
Bingo the same old story either it's you're band mates that don't or can't Wright want a cut of you're royalties or spits the fucking Lable vampires we all went thru the same shit !
He left and took his songs with him - that’s why Animalize was so poor. He refused to sign an agreement that required him to surrender his publishing. He wasn’t dismissed. That’s just propaganda from a bitter Paul and Gene.
And look what happened when Vinnie had total control ..his solo venture failed, his albums didnt sell or go Gold. His record label dumped him, "Slaughter" was forned and their debut album went double platinum. Do the math it appears the problem is Vinnie and only Vinnie. Vinnie is not a team player and the only thing he mastered was "Burnin Bridges" cancellatuons and broken promises, etc.
Robert Fleischman, not Mark Slaughter, wss the vocalist on the first Invasion album. Mark was in the video forBoyz Are a gonna Rock, but they used Robert's vocals.
I don't know that he was treated fairly by Gene and Paul. History shows bad treatment of those in their employ. I am glad he got Mark Slaughter and Dana Strum out there so they could live their musical lives. Great guys. What upsets me about Strum is that Ozzy never seems to say thanks to him for insisting on Randy Rhoads to be in Ozzy's band while all Ozzy wanted was to go home and drink more booze. I'm also happy for Bobby Brock/Bobby Rock, He is a fellow Houstonian musician and well worthy of where he is today, fantastic drummer. And of course the Mighty Blas Elias, another fellow Houstonian musician well worthy of his position in rock today. Also a student of Bobby Rock. His best. All of this seems to have stemmed from Vinny Vincent's short tenure in KISS. So I must say thank you to Vinny Vincent. He did a lot for our favorite musicians. I met Mark and Dana in 1998 backstage at the Hairball tour at the Arena theater in Houston. They brought me backstage with Mark Petrocelli, a friend that brought me to the show and is now Drum teching for the amazing Todd Sucherman/Styx. Wow. Anyhoo, small world, great stories.
Paul hates everyone and no one can live up to his standards or fit in his closet. His book is such a hard read. every paragraph he hates someone. But the years have proven they were right even though they may be tools also. NO ONE can say good things. yes talent, that's it. Hes an odd cat who seems to care about himself and no one else, and can't stop his ego - actually it seems his insecurity and very short man syndrome. hes a goofy looking f#$k and should have had some gratitude people gave him chances. cavialari has nothing good. Carmine nothing good. Dan Hartman is gone but i'd bet he had some issue with him.
I was at a Kiss concert in the early 80’s with Ted Nugent as the opening act. There was some kind of huge argument going on back stage that we could hear, I was in the 6th row. Gene Simmons came out from behind the curtain and said that Ted would be playing lead guitar for the show. The argument got even louder and Vinnie came out with the band. Later Ted was seen with a lump on his forehead and a black eye. I never did hear all the details.
Let's reflect on some hearsay. A- allegedly everyone who has signed a contract with Kiss always complained about getting allegedly hosed. IMO there has to be some truth to the allegations. B- it was the era of the guitar hero so I understand Vinnie's frustration. Vinnie was a lot more sophisticated than Gene and Paul imagined and therefore they couldn't allegedly hose him. I personally think Vinnie is a music genius but a flake. I loved Invasion that first album IMO was the beginning of hair metal.
There’s a story that Adrian Smith heard Vinnie play the guitar Jeff Beck style and did it perfectly. When Adrian asked why he didn’t play like that Vinnie said “it’s all about playing fast”
A. for sure. He has/had all the talent in the world. I think he is a woman now. A very confused, conflicted, and tormented soul for sure. Love the solo on Exciter off of Lick It Up & he was great in VVI. But when every band mate says, you are very talented, but extremely difficult to work with means he/she never really figured out who he himself is.
KISS fan since Dec '75. I saw the Creatures show in Okc with the Plasmatics. It was obvious to me that Ace wasn't trying anymore and I was glad the band went with a shredder. But jeez...the level of nonsense the band had to deal with is incredible. If I got hired to replace Ace it would be "yessir, stand here? no prob. Like my riffs? cool". On Vinnies defense, I was a big fan, even got to see the VVI open for Iron Maiden in '85 but even then he was starting to seem flaky, it was just easier to hide from the public back then due to the lack of the internet. BTW, I have pics of the shows mentioned. Thanx for the deep dive!
Vinnie Vincent should have continued with the Invasion band but with different members. He was a guitar god who had the world in is hands. He too could have been in Iron Maiden; he was very talented. October 2024, USA
Contrast Gene and Paul to Eddie and Alex. Kiss had two guys who acknowledged the talent of a guy and gave him a chance, but refusal to honor contractual needs of the band and disrespect toward teammates forced them to let him go. The Van Halen’s ran anyone out who they differed with, at all, and trashed their musical abilities.
I tend to be in the club of those who say Vinny is transitioning from male to female. As of the last few videos of him onstage at fan events, he was definitely different and I think something is definitely going on with him even though he denies it?! 😳
The other three could have supported their claim that Vinnie wasn't a team player if they showed this contract that he wouldn't sign. Let's see their ethics, and how fairly they treat the other members of the band.
Paul and Gene calling someone unethical… oh the hypocrisy. And the contract? Not saying Vinny wasn’t an incredibly difficult guy to work with, but I believe him when he says the Kiss contracts he was asked to sign were entirely unfair, much more than I believe Gene and Paul saying it’s just a standard decent contract and he just refused to follow through on his obligations.
As expected - both fans and haters commenting here. For what it's worth (nothing, probably), I and every Kiss fan I knew at the time thought that Vinnie was amazing and rate his two albums with the band as the best of the post Ace era. Kiss missed a trick with the anniversary release of Creatures by not replacing Ace with VV (remember they released a none makeupversion with Bruce on it....) - would have sold a lot more! Oh, and BTW, I love the Elder too...!
Selling a guitar to a fan for "more than what it cost in the store" sounds EXACTLY like what Gene & Paul would do but, it pisses them off if Vinnie does it.

Yeah, but he was typecast after that..😂

Agreed 👍
Cry me a river....ACE was on that album cover for the first year and we went to see them only to find someone who looked in drag.......🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 He didn't ADD to their sound.....when Ace and Peter left most fans lost interest. They need a schtick, so they hurried through "lick it up" and took off the makeup to try to get their fans back.....I went back long enough to look at the album cover and I was THROUGH. KISS ruled the 70s with marketing genius and now they get a soy boy in the band ........OVERRATED

What is a gen zero? That is all i ask, lol.
Tommy and Eric were both hired guns too…but they don’t seem to be drama queens either.
Stan Eisen and Chaim Witz calling someone else "dishonest in business dealings" is pretty funny
Gene Simmons calling anyone's ethics into question is peak irony.
Gene and Paul actually have personal relationships and friends. Vinnie is not capable of that. But the ignorance level with that comment is off the charts.
Really nice job. We all know Vinnie's history, but the editing and graphics made it palatable. I really enjoyed it. Nice job again.
To me the Vinnie Vincent Invasion albums were absolutely amazing and still listen to them today
Absolutely they are and Mark's vocals were great live back in 87.

It were worth extra money because the Vinnie's fingerprints were all over it.
paul and Gene sold lunchbox that they would never eat from
At this point in Kisstory when Vinnie came along it was the Gene and Paul band, not Kiss.
Vinnie was invited, like Paul said anyone can buy a ticket 😅
As a little kid I watched Joanie loves Chachi for the music. Who knew it was Vinnie that wrote it? 🤯
Wouldn't give Vinnie a dime these days
Incredibly underrated music and song writer.
underrated for good. Cuz he is not anymore.
I am a KISS fan since 1973. As soon as I saw the "Lick It Up" video I hung up on KISS until he was gone. His playing is all over the place. He has talent but little restraint. Peace!
P.S. I love the song Lick It Up , just not that video!
I do, love him that is, in a manly way....!
His solos were a blurred mess, but the guy could write a riff
The Vinnie Vincent Transition!
Vinnie’s worst enemy is Vinnie Vincent.

Vinnie's worst enemy is actually Vincent.
Vinnie was and still is his own worst enemy, he has sabotaged every single chance he's had. even was talking about a VVI box set and pre sold the set and never delivered it and ghosted the people he took money from. he's a great guitarist but a slimeball of a human being.

@@gameboycat05.....he's so effeminate , I'd never hang with someone who is in the club .

Wow. I remember in Detroit when Vinnie Vincent's Invasion opened for Iron Maiden and got booed off stage in about 20 minutes. Waysted was supposed to be the opener but we got VVI instead for some reason.
Great work on this piece....Vinnie is definitely talented and skilled but he seems to stand in his own way.
B.
I like Vinnie Vincent! Very beautiful and talent person ❤
Rockstaritis can kill a career very quickly. Specially when theyre just starting out.
vinnie is a mad man
Is he a man these days? Trans-gender?
Excellent show!!! I'm in.

Vinnie is the queen of pulling defeat out of the jaws of victory.
Sounds like ur describing Kamala,.. but she does come from a middle class family, just like Vinnie 😂😂😂😂
I saw both of the KISS tours with Vinnie and he was incredible. And I mean INCREDIBLE.
Sadly, somewhere along the way his mooring lines parted and he drifted off into uncharted waters.
It's a pity because he really was good.
The second VVI album is technically the first Slaughter album! Slaughter's first tour was opening for KISS.
It’s amazing how much he accomplished without having a chin
If you have four dogs fight so bad they kill each other, you are a crap dog owner and should be charged with cruelty.
So fu both ;-)
A no question. This is very well documented.
I read they were paying him $450 a week and he was forced to sell guitars because he couldn’t even pay his rent and he’s not the first hired gun that he said that about Simmons and Stanley think about who they are
Gene and Paul invented copper wire fighting over a penny someone threw on the stage…..
450 a week was good money in 1982
@@marleyhatesyouall8394 That's less than $25,000 a year.

This was interesting, I now know way more than I needed to about Vinnie Vincent😅
Vinnie definitely made his mark in Kisstory. His first Invasion record Rocks. PLAY LOUD
The debut VVI album didn't have Mark's vocals, it was Roberts.

Kiss had two guys who acknowledged the talent of a guy and gave him a chance, but refusal to honor contractual needs of the band and disrespect toward teammates forced them to let him go.

The other three could have supported their claim that Vinnie wasn't a team player if they showed this contract that he wouldn't sign. Let's see their ethics, and how fairly they treat the other members of the band.
The other three? Eric Carr never had a say.. He was basically a hired gun.
Vinnie is a great songwriter. His best songs are those without long, messy solos.
Didn't realize he had dealt with such personal loss and heartbreak very sad.
After they way these great guitarist were treated (Ozzy) I don’t blame him for being a little paranoid.
The only talent Gene & Paul love is their own. Being a team player for those two is walking their line only.
KISS was done by 1978
18:44 Notice that’s Ace in the picture- that’s because Diane was Ace’s girlfriend first!
Now that Vinnie identifies as an elderly lesbian, I understand he's a lot happier.
A but with ILoveItLoud and LickItUp I fell in love with heavy metal ❤
