I wish this game got more recognition. Every last penny I paid for it was worth it and it keeps getting better. This game has a bright future and we are all here FOR IT!.
It’s really good, and the devs obviously care about it a lot. But there’s something about the world that’s very depressing to be in. Might be the colours. But I just can’t play it for long.
@@loglog7 That's partially by design. Especially if you go underground, it's meant to feel uneasy and depressing. This is because of the lore behind the game, something terrible happened to humanity. But me personally, I'm more often loving the time I spend in vintage story. Everything is so immersive, it really feels like I'm interacting with nature which gives really good vibes.
@@perlinfall Ironically for me, I feel like the game is a bit too cheery with the OST. Kinda wish they had more somber/melancholic/desperation themes in the tracks. I want more of a imposing atmosphere to bask in.
@@Rexxie44 In my opinion, I'd say the soundtrack is mostly melancholic and fits the atmosphere of the game. (Except the summer theme, which I do think is a bit too upbeat). Most of the happier sounding songs have an uneasy ending. For example, look at "Mirror" and "Vintage Story" from the soundtrack. These both start off with a cheerful tone, but towards the end of the pieces, they get darker. Not to mention a lot of the nighttime music is entirely somber in my opinion. I also like the contrast of cheery songs that turn to somber ones. It's like a metaphor for the world of Vintage Story itself. At a first glance, the world of Vintage Story looks just fine and beautiful, but looking into it more, you find out something horrible has happened.
Kings and queens, your team has added more incredible content to VS in the past 14 months than mojang and M$ combined have done for MC in the past 8 years, and that's not even an exaggeration.
I always say, VS is the game MC could have become if deep and engaging gameplay were prioritized over appealing to children. I absolutely agree regarding the content additions.
But... but... but they actually visited the mangrove biome in real life!! And Agnes kissed a traveling villager's llama to make it accurate. (By the way, I'm a big fan of Minecraft and Gothic, hehe. And this game looks like a combination of both, it's amazing! And a sprinkle of Age of Decadence because of the technology aspect)
Vintage Story 1.20 update log: - it now simulates every single atom - including air, if you stay in a closed place for too long you run out of air - pneumonia - every discovered insect is in the game - you can trip and fall off staircases - cannons
Vintage Story 1.99 - New optional difficulty kills the player when they die in game - Added the ability to play Vintage Story in Vintage story by building the Computer - Uploaded the minds of Serial Killers into the game to replace the enemy AI - Captured God - Added every known and unknown lifeform on earth to the game. - Added Evolution, Mutation and various other things related to DNA including Cancer. - Fixed a bug the caused player characters to instantly die of cardiac arrest upon eating earthworms. - Added accurate spaceflight. (Intergalactic travel will be coming in the next update so stay tuned) - Added an extremely rare chance for Shia LaBeouf spawn.

You have revitalized my adult love for the "Minecraft" genre tick with this game. It keeps all the simplicity while adding so incredibly much content that just makes sense.
I am extremely impressed. All of that in a single update? If Mojang could do even half of that per major release, then may their slow release rate would have been justified!
I feel like an ocean update is coming in the not too distant future, but it's nice to already have the option to generate them and traverse them with rafts. Amazing update, it feels so full of content and while i've only recently discovered the game i'm going to closely follow its development, it's in the hands of some great developers
@@mw00295I agree, It'd be cooler imo to have something realistic like whales or sharks that would have interesting loots for the player in order to make sea exploration appealing rather than juste creating dungeons or underwater structures

Forget the doomed successor to Minecraft, HyTale, this is actually here, and gets love from the devs, rather than endless rewrites and "back to the drawing boards" with no visible progress to fans. I love this game -- it is hard as old roots, but it is really rewarding when you've built yourself up to weather the challenges that used to decimate you. Plus, the world has a unique flare to it, in lore (what we have), visuals, and of course, the mystery of what has happened. As always, every single major update is a banger! Great job, Tyron & team!
Excited to finally try this out when it hits a more stable version! The new terrain generation seems like a great improvement from what I've seen in creative mode
Fingers crossed on much needed updates to the light update system, to limit resource usage when lights update. Oh and the ability to save customization presets for your character for easy selection of past character design choices.

Do you have any plans to add new eye shapes and maybe even head shapes? and maybe the ability to move each component by a few pixels to personalise them a little but without going so far that you have to re design all the armours? I am not sure exactly how the models are put together so this may not be something easily implemented, But i often find myself that I am not happy with the look of my character with most combinations of parts and such. I really like the game and this isn't a big thing, I just wanted to give my opinion in the hopes that it could help at all :) Great work and keep it up :3
I recently started to play this game. It is awesome! I hope you guys will keep doing grate job and one day this game will get recognition it deserve. Due to quite slow paste of the game and a lot of things to learn (constant usage of handbook) it will not be easy but it is not impossible

I love the consistant progress, Top teir Dev.... its really coming a long as a game now, I love it. the only problem I have convincing other people to play is getting stuck in progression when you can't find a resource and you can't easily trade for it, and its so similar to Minecraft there is an expectation of villages and ruins, more dungeons etc.
I've recently discovered this game, and will buy it once I can. The shear amount of content, as well as how beautiful the game's pixel art is, and the seemingly unforgiving difficulty makes it a must have for me, this is insane

At first i thought this game was a Minecraft mod given the similarities but after checking it out, its realy unque and interesting and i now wish i could install it. And i would love to see popular RUclipsrs do a lets play on this game.

They remarked on their old roadmap that they anticipate making it where you can get ships n stuff to traverse the globe.
