I’m here to say Minecraft was great until they did the whole “conservation and endangered species awareness” thing. Cats used to be a commodity, now Ocelots are useless and cats are absolutely everywhere. Every update we get one or two completely useless ambient mobs, killing them always does nothing. We have gotten some gems like Dolphins, but most of them (pandas) are completely useless.
@@BlueSky_fur it was like that even before M$ took over. In the Alpha and Beta times modders were miles ahead in added value content that the vanilla was, every update back then added only 2-3 major things at MOST. Minecraft was always stagnant when it came to this.
@@dziadek_gruz Even a lot of things that made it into vanilla from mods felt much more condensed and refined, like hoppers effectively replacing buildcraft's whole system of multiple pipes with different crafting recipes with a single block with redstone functionality and very specific limitations that make it interesting to design around.
Minecraft became a franchise and was bought by a corporation, said corporation is desperate to earn back what they bought it for, so they're harshly limiting anything that isn't a necessary addition to the main game in fear of sinking a boat that they shouldn't have bought in the first place. Vintage story is an indie game with all the freedom in the world, it's not even tied down to a platform like steam or epic, and they have the passion that's necessary for creating something great. Minecraft is an overused nostalgia trip, Vintage Story is the next step.

Deers are some of the animals that i always wish to see in a survival game, i don't know why but they make the woods feels a lot more alive and wild. And 11 different types + moose? That's amazing. I hope birds are also planned eventually.
For me it's definitely birds, games very rarely have decent (if any) birds. It's usually just ambient sounds with birds nowhere to be seen. Birds are literally everywhere when you look around in real life, but very neglected when it come to games!
The notminecraft command has me laughing like a slightly crazy man. You're right, its not Minecraft, because unlike Minecraft this game has developers that pay close attention to their community. Prospector info was one of my favorite mods because I love in game information collection, and you just made it a vanilla feature! I love the new map, the hand drawn style with sepia colors looks beautiful. And the ruins? Incredible. I'm especially intrigued by your mention of "Mini-Dimention System," can't wait to see what becomes of that.
i hope they also implement the spontaneous pottery braking and knowledge system of Nat's survival expanded soon. also some out of AnvilMetalRecovery, primitivesurvival and undergroundmines, too
@@SyntheticDarkSoul While I think AnvilmetalRecovery is too good in its current state (mostly the broken tool scrap, I lose like 15-20 units of metal per pickaxe) I would like the anvil recover part for sure. No reason to not use molds. Frankly, its cheaper due to hammer durability.

yeah even if they say minecraft can be modded , the engine upgrades we get here are so good that it will never catch up , investing in your engine is extremelly important for longevity performance and make more content efficiently

The most popular chibi deer should be exclusive for those who win it by chance in a loot crate they purchased using Golden Gears, an in-game currency which can be bought using $. This would be an investment anyway as exclusive content can be traded with other players using Golden Gears on the Vintage in-game marketplace. Etc. Etc.
I mean it took them 8 months , so I assume most of what they worked on is not even released , and these are mostly upgrades that were being worked on before ,I expect them to release larger content updates hat depend on other unfinished parts
@@laser_red1820 its how these games work just like mantaining other software , they add small things that can be released alone while the new large systems with huge changes are being prototyped at same time , if only these large things came out the game would have fewer updates with big changes these smaller updates allow devs to fill gaps with smaller thing's they made
I gotta be honest: I've been playing VS pirated for a while, because 20USD is a bit too much in my country right now and I couldn't afford it, but I love every inch of the game, and is exactly what I expected from the other voxel game owned by Microsoft and much more. Another point leading me to believe, that he didn't crack VS is, that it's simply not that much money if you put into consideration, that he somehow has a digital device to communicate through the Internet. In addition to that, (personal opinion) I think pirating vintage story isn't sensible, if you consider the amount of work put in by the devs, with the relatively low bar of entry of merely 19€. By no means my comment was meant to offend anyone, not you, not him, I just wanted to point out the rather thin margin of believability his initial comment gave.
The fact that it took a multi billion dollar company to put out a few new skins for wolves in the time it took Vintage Story, an indie team that went off to make their own survival block game to add 23 entirely new SPECIES, new sets of generative ruins, ambient noise reworks, reanimations for first person, worldedit improvements, and theyre already done with that update and its all released around the time we heard about wolf armor. theyre already teasing sailing and animal riding and tons of new creatures.
I see a couple of very popular mods actually being integrated into the game. You are clearly passionate about this and it shows. Me and my partner played a lot at one point, we should return :D

I haven't bought the game yet, but I'm going straight to the place where I can get it when I'm done with this comment. I discovered this gem 2 days ago in a video suggested in my feed. I was skeptical at first, but after being stuck in awe watching a full hour survival video in it, I can confidently say that this game was all I expected from Minecraft, but never truly got it. I haven't watched too much to not spoil the experience, but if there is some kind of advanced automation tech, I will cry of joy. I just bought this game today, and my first real base is in some of the new ruins. This game has a real magic to it that I haven't felt since the early days of playing Minecraft and i'm really hyped to explore it more. It's a little frustrating at times, but i'm really enjoying it!

Vintage Story is in my opninion the best voxel based survival experience and the devs are just build different :D I mean like so many features added by mods created by the playerbase have made it into the base game. This is how listening to the community should be in every game! Also dear dev, you have build up perhaps the best foundation of a game ever seen. They are people who love games, who love stories, who love life, not just money. The principles and Creation - that are put into this game - deserve the deepest respect. This game will be a ray of light for the entire gaming industry, which is mired in rust and stagnation.
recently learned about this game and... HOLY JESUS WHAT IS THAT! i cannot begin too express how relieved i was too find a game that gave me that same EVERYTHING'S ON FIRE OH GOD feeling that i had on my first minecraft game. keep up the amazing work and lots of appreciation👍

These godly devs: "Here you have 2 new animal and 1 whit 11 different variants, 11 variants of a pre existing animal, new improved world gen, more inmersive first person, new animal traps, new mechanics for pigs, new baby animals and more!"
This update looks really good. I would like to see more enemies and bosses for the next ones. Villages, NPCs and quests would be nice too. Also, more underground structures and more variation in caves would improve underground exploration. I have had a lot of expectations with this game since I bought it.

Anybody thinks about npc village management like in RTS (Real Time Strategy) games? Building houses for new units, give them workplace and etc. I know that not about vintage story but will very glad to see something like that in game future.

I expected improvements and some neat new things but not many And you upload a video and just go HARD Im almost sad Ill have to start over due to this update but I will regardless, Im happy about it. These new structures and features are genuinly worth it!
I found this game long ago when some of its team made a mod called butterfly mania for minecraft. I am overjoyed to see you guys still working on updates and building on the game! I have already bought the game. But will be jumping back into it again. Keep up the awesome work :D
When people say that vanilla minecraft can be scary enough, think again, vintage story got me squeaking when those gear dudes chase me and the sounds are just that good
This looks like so much fun. The moose and the goat with spiral horns are my favorite from the video, and the new handbook with commands seems it will come in handy for many players. :D
I discovered this game yesterday thanks to a random video here on the toob. Watching this update video I probably said "that's f*ckin' cool!" over a dozen times. I think I need to give you money.
My greatest wish is seeing much more beautiful and varied terrain generation and biomes. But alas all I can do is wait. Hope development is progressing smoothly :)
HOLY CRAP THIS IS AMAZING I haven't touched VS in like a year because it will easily suck away entire days of my life and is a tad rough on my overheating laptop, but my god stuff like this just reminds me I'll have to hop on either way. Every update just gets so much better, as if the game wasn't already an absolute masterpiece.
18 euros is considered expensive in my country (romania), but i didnt regret any of it spent on this game, ive been playing for two weeks now after work to just relax, one of my all time favorite games.
Looks like 1.19 will be a big one, also for some much needed bug fixes. Hopefully not too long now. Would be cool if there was a survival schematic feature where you can, only visible to you or shared friends, load an exported schematic just as a ghost image and move it around, maybe with a needed block count display too. That way one could easily build their pre build buildings in survival, especially larger / more complex ones. The MC mod Schematica did the same thing, plus some other features like auto build but the baseline feature would be fine imo.
i never knew of this game until recently. ive always loved and played Minecraft but have been finding it harder and harder to hold interest, but the past couple days ive been developing that same former interest, but for Vintage Story

Chad Vintage Story: Here we added more features as much and more mob species.

I found this game long ago when some of its team made a mod called butterfly mania for minecraft. I am overjoyed to see you guys still working on updates and building on the game! I have already bought the game. But will be jumping back into it again. Keep up the awesome work :D
When people say that vanilla minecraft can be scary enough, think again, vintage story got me squeaking when those gear dudes chase me and the sounds are just that good

This looks like so much fun. The moose and the goat with spiral horns are my favorite from the video, and the new handbook with commands seems it will come in handy for many players. :D

I discovered this game yesterday thanks to a random video here on the toob. Watching this update video I probably said "that's f*ckin' cool!" over a dozen times. I think I need to give you money.

My greatest wish is seeing much more beautiful and varied terrain generation and biomes. But alas all I can do is wait. Hope development is progressing smoothly :)

I haven't touched VS in like a year because it will easily suck away entire days of my life and is a tad rough on my overheating laptop, but my god stuff like this just reminds me I'll have to hop on either way. Every update just gets so much better, as if the game wasn't already an absolute masterpiece.

18 euros is considered expensive in my country (romania), but i didnt regret any of it spent on this game, ive been playing for two weeks now after work to just relax, one of my all time favorite games.

Looks like 1.19 will be a big one, also for some much needed bug fixes. Hopefully not too long now.
Would be cool if there was a survival schematic feature where you can, only visible to you or shared friends, load an exported schematic just as a ghost image and move it around, maybe with a needed block count display too. That way one could easily build their pre build buildings in survival, especially larger / more complex ones. The MC mod Schematica did the same thing, plus some other features like auto build but the baseline feature would be fine imo.

i never knew of this game until recently. ive always loved and played Minecraft but have been finding it harder and harder to hold interest, but the past couple days ive been developing that same former interest, but for Vintage Story
