  • Fat Lama is an interesting website that allows people to rent stuff from other people. I wanted to know if this website could be useful for professional photographers. Find out in this video what my thoughts are about this platform.

We don't have such service in our country but it sure sounds cool. You check the cameras before making decision to buy one. Or as you said, rent for a project. Another great video as always Osman. 👍🏻

Aw thank you Hamza, I really appreciate you watching my vidoes and you always leave such a nice comment. I think something like this could spread around the globe like AirBnB has eventually you might be able to rent or lend to other people :).

The iphone video quality held up pretty good in all of that good light. Of course the GH5 was much better. But the iphone wasn't bad at all.

+Photomeike I know right, I was quite surprised at how good the video quality was from the iPhone.
To make matters more interesting, I messed up a little. The iPhone clips were all shot in 1080 cause I forgot to change the setting so had to scale up in post lol.

Wow lol. I have shot a few of my videos on the iphone 7 plus just because I wanted to shoot in 4k and it was the only thing i had that shot in 4k, and I was very pleased with the quality. I just need to get better with the sound.

Sound is the difficult thing with the iPhone. Not sure if this could help but I use The Rode Smart Lav (link below) and it's a life saver in so many circumstances it's tiny and connects directly into my iPhone for audio. For this shoot I carried two phones one to record the audio and one to record the video :).

So if someone doesn't bring back the camera, they get charged instantly? what are the safeties for this peer to peer rental?
    interesting video!

So gear is completely insured as long as you follow the guidelines which are pretty reasonable. I’ve had gear not returned to me and Fatlama has covered the full cost of replacing it all so I know there is proper security in place.

@@Sondercreative nice one, and that happened pretty fast I take it. Insurance always take for ever to repay usually

music is a secret actually yes it was really quick. So generally speaking, professional insurance is super quick. Consumer insurance tends to take a long time.

@@Sondercreative I just met someone that lost 3k renting a drone, apparently did everything by the rules, actually if you look into it comments are 50/50 about this subject, good this about the product i want to rent its almost undestructible but then again if people run away with it and it does happen from what I read. mmmh great system in theory still

GH5 is a top camera. Autofocus could be better but other than that it's immense.

I completely agree, I was blown away by how good the GH5 is. I'm properly considering it right now.

Sonder Creative check out my recent video Breton Brut shot in 4K on the GH5 with only 2 native micro four thirds lenses. Quality camera.
