What ideas have you had in terms of video making during the lockdown? Ive been trying to do the same but kind of stumped on what to film inside my house Lmao
@@NathanTen I've been somewhat fortunate in that my wife is the children's catechist at our church. Every week she needs to film herself teaching and then upload for later viewing by the kids and their parents. The first week of the lock down they used an iphone. After that I was like, "Ok, I'm going to figure this out." Been getting better and better I think. I also have an idea to help out a friend who has a small business selling metal works online.
Good light: soft light close to subject. Good music: edit to the beat, use ambient noise. The way you now light your videos at home/studio to how it's here, such mass improvement and sleek, goes to show that once you keep doing something, you just get better and better at it
I got in to video editing about a year ago and this was one of the first videos I watched. A year later and I still have so much to learn! Thanks for the inspiration Peter.
You should make a video about some different price point "movie" cameras. A lot of ppl, like me, would probably like to know some good 'budget' cameras!
Great tips for musical choices.... We used a super slow song to one of our videos and even we don’t care for that video as much. Now, we always use fast-paced, groove-oriented music for our videos. We learned the hard way how important matching the music to the mood convey the desired effect. Thanks for offering some awesome tips! 📷😎⭐️
When a youtuber claims how they got rich from x,y,z, and "you can to," Well, it's easy to assess their dress, backdrop, and over space to observe, they're still working on making that wealth with more subscribers and viewers. :) So, you are so right. Mindful of what the audience is viewing in the video is paramount. As a designer, I can look at the interior structure and read apartment, flat, trailer, cheap, high end, luxury, hotel, etc. The space gives it away.

Your camera + lens is like SEVEN Gs! And I'm still trying to figure out how to use my 2-year old "smartphone" to record stuff w/ an $11 mic. I have a long road...

I recently started learning EDITING and this is the first video of Peter i have watched. He filled me with energy and motivation. Now I will work even harder to learn editing. I have great admiration for this guy. Thanks peter.
This video is great! I love how you talk about static and how motion is so important. When I do my short films, with a crew, I always make sure there's motion but when I do my RUclips videos I'm a one person show & crew. Do you have any cool transitions, possibly in editing, for a one person show & crew? I'd love to add motion and/or creative effects but I lock my camera down since I'm also acting all the characters. Would be great to visually add something more to my video scenes if it's possible with not moving the camera 🎥☺️🐶
He seems to be saying to add motion just to add motion. You should move the camera when it makes sense and adds to the emotion. There is nothing wrong with locked or static shots. Look at your favorite films. Some of the most intense scenes in cinema are locked shots.
Flying High I agree with you one hundred percent, motion needs to have a reason; which, I always do in my short films/web series and I use a lot of static shots because sometimes stillness is a wonderful thing when used in the right clips. I’m not wondering when to use motion but if there’s a way or a technique/effect I can add motion, when needed, even though I’m a one person show and crew. I lock the camera in place then I’m the actor in front of the camera, so I won’t be able to move the camera when I’m in the frame. I was hoping there might be some realistic effects out there that can make it look as if I had a cameraperson onset with me.
i just got to say i think i watched all your videos on photography when i first started maybe a year ago and that was a great help and instantly helped me get better shots. im not great but way better than i would have been i think of stuff you say while im shooting. i just picked up a go pro to help with my intro into cinematography and this video will be a great help thanks for the great content. keep it up

Everything you do in production and post production, should be done for a reason. Never do this or that just to have this or that in your show.
Why Wait Productions - Jahnnalee how about shooting in 4K so you can do various Ken Burns effects in post - then output to HD so quality is retained.
