    Thanks Mark and Sue for the nice review. We were in Ft. Pierce over Christmas and really liked the area. Stayed at Treasure Coast. Very nice place for snowbirds. We are retiring from NC Jan of 23 and Ft. Pierce is on our short list. 640 miles from our home base is great and the Jan temps are excellent also. Thanks again from a long time subscriber.

    We stayed at that KOA 12mos ago. It is small. We also stayed at Palmer Gulch to see Rushmore and the Buffalo Roundup, Sept 23-26, 2020. The smallest and biggest KOA, great trivia we can now brag about. I didn't know the the Pierce KOA was in fact the smallest. I went to the Seal museum, but my wife didn't, too much testosterone, hah! We'll have to return next year and do the kayaking.

    We'll definitely stop by and do the night time kayak tour. There is an amazing kayak stream in Juniper Springs Recreation Area near Ocala National Forest. It was the highlight of our trip in FL. Another one is a guided tour of the Everglades by the National Park Ranger at Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center at Everglades National Park. Both were super amazing experiences. I think Mark could do the Everglades tour. It's an easy walk through the Everglades.

      I’ve been here 27 years out of my 30 years of life. 3 I lived in Tampa…which btw is amazing! Now it’s overcrowded but St. Pete is nice. It all depends what part of Fort Pierce you live in. Downtown area is pretty much safe. There are drugs and crime everywhere but compared to Naples, Sarasota, and other southwest Florida towns/cities I can see why you’d be afraid of the population of Fort Pierce criminals

    • @AsToldByShaie
      @AsToldByShaie 2 года назад +1

      @@dornettlowe9766 All of Fort Pierce is rather country compared to Dade County. Okeechobee and Jenkins road intersect and you have a WaWa, Walgreens, Home Depot, Chik-fil-a, and Starbucks right there. Besides downtown Fort Pierce it is a pretty nice area to live in. Once they finish Avalon Crossing it probably will be a little congested though.
      I'm a Fort Pierce native. In the past 10 years it has definetly grown and it only growing more. But yeah we didn't really have much here in the 90s and early 2000s. Port Saint Lucie in growing as well (that's the city just south of us). I believe they were in the top 60 cities in the country to move to. But that area is getting way to crowded.

      @@AsToldByShaie I figured it will get a little congested in that area. I'm just glad all those things are close by. I drove through the area twice and I love what I'm seeing so far. I follow the city development meetings and I'm impress so far. Everyone is telling not to move because crime is very high in the area.
