Born and raised in Fort Pierce. As a native South Floridian, Fort Pierce is a gem. Small town right on the ocean and Indian River with tons of access points for all people. The nature is incredible. Close but not too close to Miami, Orlando, and Tampa with a small town vibe by 10 minutes drive west on Okeechobee road. 10/10
You neglected to mention all the marinas, all the boat ramps, with ocean access within a mile. There’s a white sand beach almost downtown with clean water. You forgot the Backus Museum, and the whole Highwayman Art scene. There’s probably more black active artists here than anywhere. You forgot to mention all the FREE parking everywhere. Lawnwood is a first class hospital with a excellent trauma center, with about every type medical specialist within a eight of a mile from it. The biggest plus is what many less traveled people thing is a negative is the fact that the “bad area” is just like all the towns in the Caribbean that tourists spend big bucks to see via Cruise Ships, minus the ugliness. If you love white washed churches, beautiful brick streets with wide pedestrian friendly sidewalks under shade trees, parks, with peacocks walking around, while islanders play dominos under trees, you will love Ft. Pierce. If you don’t enjoy nature, the always strong ocean breezes then go to Orlando and sit in traffic looking at concrete.
I appreciate your comment... you definitely mentioned positives. In a video like this, I cannot detail every obviously positive thing or the video would be very long. Thanks for your feedback.
Damn well said bro! My observations as well. Just moved up here to the north side of PSl year ago from south PBC and I love it except for all the driving back forth we have to do still for our jobs and family stuff.
I moved to fort Pierce covid came and there was a shut down. Then I was forced to live in my car after I was paying $900 a month because the landlord had a rental company that didn't fix anything. The police couldn't help me either. I ran for my life and I got out of fort Pierce! I was forced to live in my car for 6 months. I'm a disabled American. I retired from Miami. And I was forced to live in my car with my dog and my cats had to go to the shelter for 6 months. I'm so traumatized about fort Pierce I drive in there and I'm nauseous! this wasn't even a year ago 😭
Hola Natalia, thanks for your video. I am a new resident to Ft Piece and just purchased a home off of St Lucie Blvd and US1. Hi Natalia thxs 4 ur informative videos, for a nyc/mia family who's looking to a more walkable neighborhood which one would u recommend out of the treasure coast?
It depends what you favor as walkable... in the older neighborhoods you will not have sidewalks. Many people still walk their dogs and exercise on the street and feel safe to do so. However, if you are looking for sidewalks, then your best bet is to consider a "planned community" like SLW and Tradition for St. Lucie County.

We’ll just tell you to go back home lol. 😀 The beaches/down town is great. It’s beautiful and the food is spectacular. But be careful if you are out at night due to crime. It’s better now, but make sure to carry a gun or pepper spray if you can. Especially if you are in the alphabet avenues, or number streets.
Hi I am retired from USCG I was stationed in Miami/Opa-Locka twice and thinking about moving back to build a house. Looking for property near the beach and then subcontract the work out myself. How is the permit process there and is it very expensive. Currently live in California and very expensive out here.
Being a realtor, I am not in the front lines with the permit process and of course it would vary by city. I do know across the board in Florida, all permit/building departments are behind by several months. Even the Property Appraisers offices are behind because of the high volume of homes being constructed or the resale homes being sold. You can find a better answer with a contractor or call the offices directly.
Between the population rising and the varying ecomonic and political things, change is bound to happen. I am sure back then it was a lot calmer. Thanks for the feedback
I really enjoyed your analysis of Fort Pierce including Pro-Con section. I think you should look evaulate HCA Lawnwood Regional Medical Center again, they have an awesome Trauma Center that serves this Region and has saved many lives.

It looks like a country town that just so happens to be next to the ocean. I'm a true beach girl living in Palm Beach County, but I can't afford the housing down here. I've been looking more North.
Hi Natalia, how about getting a duplex in Fort Pierce for investment ?, It's easy to get people looking for rental ? please provide some information. Thanks
Prices in general are not good for investments at this time. You have to consider price of the home, any repairs/upgrades costs, and how the rental market is. At the end, what is the profit margin? If it's below 9% most experienced investors do not move forward.
The salaries are horrible. The working conditions are horrible. I guess if it's all you know you wouldn't notice. The place itself is great. It's beautiful and the people are friendly. But the poverty of the working class is sad.
Great video be honest lol all the avenues west of us1 is rough area. Thanks for the comment.... You know, I always get a mix of opinions for Fort Pierce and the crime... where it is and how much of it. Definitely hard to speak on. I always have to have my clients drive around Fort Pierce and tell me how they feel. At the end, it is relative and what people are comfortable with. Plus, let's be real... the budget matters. You can find some good homes in FP that are affordable.
Nathalia like your advice, can you explain to me what area is north ft. Pierce, ok I have a friend on the Island A1A on the beach, what area would be close to that area that is under $300,000 . Oh Im paying $2,269 my house is 2120 square ft it much higher than that, I'm in Kissimmee, thanks in advance
of course not on A1A rich people live there. I live very close to Indian River Drive south almost to Port St Lucie and love it. Get a map look at the north side of Fort Pierce I know the whole Fort Pierce. Can't live alone rent is to high for 1 person and senior citizen.
Consider homes around Indrio Road. Lots of new construction for homes in the mid 300s. There are some homes for resale that can be less but are livable fixer uppers.
Not an official tiny home community... I wish! The Treasure Coast however does have several communities with cottages with is next size up somewhere between 400 sq. ft. to 800 sq. ft.
You would have to check with each community for the rules. Overall, for a non-hoa, be sure to get with FP to confirm what is needed. Usually, the answer is yes, but check with FP.

Hola Natalia acabo de mudarme a fort pierce sabes si puedo usar bicicleta eléctricas para movilizarme o hay algún tipo de restriccion . Gracias por tu respuesta y ya me suscribí ;)
I tell people all the time pay attention when they show you a crime rate, it only tells you who was caught and Prosecuted, crime rates are very tricky, I know people in Port St Lucie who's been selling illegal drugs for over 10 years haven't been caught yet
Everything you mentioned is east of US1, they have failed to spend the same amount of money on the area west of US1 in Ft Pierce, that area has turned into a gehto. FTP is nothing but a migrant town west of US1.
They kept my deposit they kept everything they kept my furniture they kept everything I'm telling you everything they almost killed me in that apartment. Because they're nickel and dime rental Management people that I've never had a nice thing in their damn lives! So they rented me an apartment that already was damaged with lots of water leak and all my things got ruined in my pets got hurt and so did I and ultimately forced to live in my car. Without family and friends in fort Pierce I was pretty much their victim......😭 What would you advise and what would you do in my situation?? Please help me they owe me thousands upon thousands of dollars.....
I'm sorry u going thru all this. That's horrible. Talk to the police. Is hard to win with these people that rent places. they all take your money and keep it and don't tell anyone why u can't get the apartment or house I lost alot of money. I have a rentals pamphlet that tells you your right and always take pics. if is me I will have them in the news.
@@nataliarhinehart oh lord yes. I live in a piece of crap duplex (holes to outside, leaky faucets etc) and I pay $1000 a month. Actually get afraid to ask him to fix things so he doesn’t Jack the price up higher. Raises it $100 ever year 🤦♀️ I want out of here.
Fort pierce for me was not great growing up here 20 years now and all I have to say it is best to leave. I’m sorry but honestly it’s every bad just felt awful the entire time living in this area of Florida
So sad to read this... I have to defend FP some... Definitely not like 20 years ago nevertheless the city is recently trying to take care of itself. Plenty of new construction on the westside gives an opportunity for positive change plus all the updates being done in Downtown. Let's hope for the best.
Well, there is now a true AMAZON Warehouse in Tradition, Port St. Lucie with all the benefits now. Plus we are getting a Costco warehouse in the same location. Good options are popping up on the Treasure Coast in general.
You are probably thinking of Fort Myers on the west side of FL. The City of Fort Pierce is on the east side. We were not highly impacted. Just some winds and rain.
@@nataliarhinehart yes but there are a lot of drug dealers in Port st lucie, they don't police the city like they do in fort pierce, trust me I was born and raised in st lucie County

So they rented me an apartment that already was damaged with lots of water leak and all my things got ruined in my pets got hurt and so did I and ultimately forced to live in my car. Without family and friends in fort Pierce I was pretty much their victim......😭
What would you advise and what would you do in my situation??
Please help me they owe me thousands upon thousands of dollars.....
I'm sorry u going thru all this. That's horrible. Talk to the police. Is hard to win with these people that rent places. they all take your money and keep it and don't tell anyone why u can't get the apartment or house I lost alot of money. I have a rentals pamphlet that tells you your right and always take pics. if is me I will have them in the news.
Definitely reach out to a lawyer and get good council and representation... I do pray you get the best help! I am sorry to read this
Fort Pierce is no longer affordable. I live in a crap hole duplex, that should be condemned, and pay $1000 a month. It sucks in Florida now
Definitely difficult with rent prices all across the board. For sure!
It’s 2 hours from Miami that’s all I know….ok 😃.
Lol, yes 2 hrs away. Easy to get to from I-95 or the Turnpike.
She is talking about reported crime..lol it's called pot st Lucie
Honestly, that made me chuckle.

The park by us 1 is full of bums every day in Fort Pierce the city should ban them
First con: Amazon.
Interesting... Thanks for the feedback
Amazon minim wage jobs? Independent contractor no benefits? IDK
Well, there is now a true AMAZON Warehouse in Tradition, Port St. Lucie with all the benefits now. Plus we are getting a Costco warehouse in the same location. Good options are popping up on the Treasure Coast in general.
ummm there are no cons to fort pierce actually. I arrest my case.
OOOOh that made me laugh. Me gusta!
Fort Pierce looks like a scary hellhole. So much tragedy
Every place has it's good and bad... there are some pretty lovely spaces in Fort Pierce
It’s just like every town in the Caribbean , except way cleaner with a huge local art scene.
So weird seeing this now after Hurricane Ian decimated the area. Ya just never know I guess...
Ft. Pierce was not decimated. Not affected at all.
You are probably thinking of Fort Myers on the west side of FL. The City of Fort Pierce is on the east side. We were not highly impacted. Just some winds and rain.
PSL is yucky

Port St Lucie has a lot of unreported crime,
I'm sure that's the case anywhere... don't you think so?
@@nataliarhinehart yes but there are a lot of drug dealers in Port st lucie, they don't police the city like they do in fort pierce, trust me I was born and raised in st lucie County
You are too animated. Talk and relax a little
Thanks for the feedback ;-)
Disagree, her videos are great. She is totally relaxed a pro on the camera.
Fort pierce sucks that's why it's cheaper
Tell me how you really feel? J/K... thanks for the comment.
