Takara, the other company that created the actual Transformers along with Hasbro, has a line called Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion. This is kind of crazy because it's transforming trains but the trains are based on real ones in Japan. On top of that they even crossed over with Evangelion and Godzilla.
As someone who lurks around many dying fandoms, I gotta appreciate your work of telling people to start posting videos or images, or discussions on these dying products. Lost media is scary because it's something you like enought to seek it out, even if its just a photo of it, that you slowly watches it becoming nothing but a memory that can be easily forgotten.
My Party Wallop is just going to be a very well armed Donnie. Also, damn, I had that wonky shredder transformer. It was pretty cool how you could see his head peeking out the window of his drill alt mode. Sadly, mine didn't survive a series of moves. I hope he's been found by someone. Yes, I'd be down for TMNT vids. Honestly, if that "Monster Trucks" movie was a tie in for those attack pack cars, it would have been memorable. Because yeah, those are pretty awesome. I love the monster truck with the chain chomp wheels 😂
I used to have a bunch of the switch and go dinos, some of the earlier and original ones. I had one which you can see a reuse of the mold of in this video too, black helicopter one, which the one I had was orange. I must say, they were quite cool to me when I was a kid, although I got rid of all of them around 2018-2019 after they sat in my grandma's basement unused for quite a few years. One of my favorites was a brachiosaurus that transformed into a car carrier.
I really wanted the orange helicopter one as a kid. I also had the brachiosaurus. It came with a car that launched this little spring loaded pterodactyl IIRC.
I remember Toy Story had a couple different lines of transforming figures, like Woody transforming into a covered wagon, Buzz becoming a spaceship, or Rex turning into that one guy's car from the second movie.
14:50 another Orb robot example would be Neo Shifters by mega bloks. they were essentially mega's try (around 2006) at making a Bionicle/transformers style Figures. they seem to have been semi-popular, since they stuck around for about 2 years speaking of bionicle, there is also the Bohrok (and the Bohrok-kal) wave of Bionicle sets from 2002, that also transform into orbs
Transformers even had some ball formers during the BW2 era which were later repurposed as the surprise villains of Kiss Player. A condor, a lion, and a little robot guy. Armada unicorns minicon is a ball with a big rotating cannon mounted on it... it was meant to look like the projector moon from the prototype g1 figure. Also there was a little known toyline called "Battle Planets" that had plantoids that would open up into little playsets and they even had a gigantic monster planet that could "eat" the smaller ones using a comically large claw that would come out of a opening mouth.
I remember owning the 2003 transforming TMNT figures, they had a certain feel that I really liked as a kid, I was especially hyped about the Secret Ooze that came with it. My half brothers grandma got that for me, she was a nice lady. Also think you should cover the transforming Pokémon plushies that turned into Pokeballs if you haven’t touched on it in these videos
Thier wer uthers. Human forms of Bebop ans Rocksteddy transformed into thier mutated forms and thier was even one of Aprill as a tiger mutant. I remember the toy fraze. Know they mutate.
When me and my little brother were smaller, we loved the v-tech Dino’s!!! Our favorites were the red long neck dino and the blue triceratops. I do t remember much about them and kind of forgot they existed but thanks for this cause now I’m remembering how much fun I used to have with my little brother with these!
0:08 my dad has that from when he was a kid! I always thought it was just one of those transformers that never appeared in the show and only had a toy!
Here’s something interesting. There’s a small hot wheels line called road beasts. When I was really young, me and my brother had these three of these things. Their monster trucks that open their “mouths” and stick their touches out. They open their eyes every time you press the back, and I think some were remolds of the attack pack back peace’s. The only one I can remember is a scorpion like tail which the sculpt shows it was made of chains. The tongues were made of a soft rubbery material, helped illuminate that it was lifelike. Downside is they catch dust and hair very easily, and the forked tips were separate peace’s so they could get broken or lost. Another line I remember owning a few was the car-nivores line. They were made by fisher price, and you just press on the car mode to change them into an animal. The bottom and wheals serve as “legs” while the body shows off the sculpt. They made a T. Rex, a Snake, a dog, a shark and possibly more. There were two giant ones that serve as automatic toys. They have buttons on the back to make them do any actions, but no remote. There’s a gorilla (of all things) but I don’t remember the other one. Figured I share some trivia of some other transformer toys that aren't transformers from some childhood memories.
I remember playing with switch n go dinos, I had a few, but there was one I remember most. It was a giant green crane/tow truck thing, that turned into a big Trex, I remember it having a microphone, so you could use voice commands, it was pretty cool
About the Vtech toys, I had one and did some research and found out that the one I had was called “Lex The T Rex” and it’s actually still for sale on Amazon
Robo wheels is actually one of the lines I'm nostalgic for Because I had the Basuka Blaster figure, Plus some of the vehicles actually could blend in with regular hot wheels.
There’s 2 LEGO Ninjago transforming sets in the new dragons rising series. One is a Diaclone esque motorcycle to mech and the the other in a dragon you can flip upside down I guess?? I have the motorcycle one and it’s very fun.
I have a few switch-and-go Dino’s from when I was a kid. The giant brachiosaurus carrier truck was always my favorite, followed by the spinosaurus plane
Nice list of Transformers like transforming thingies :D though I thought I would also see 52Toys Beast Box. For me it's the next best thing to Transformers.
I actually remember having one of the switch and go toys when I was younger while I can’t find the age of the toys a was probably too old for the them assuming they weren’t my brothers (I’m 21 now for context). One other transformers like toy I remember is Hotweels Battle Force 5, which is basically a bunch of cars that had a “battle mode”, which also had a Cartoon Network show. I checked it out a few months ago out of curiosity, and it’s exactly what you’d expect.
Completely forgot about the attack pack. I had that bat like one at my Nagymama’s. Never even knew what it was from but definitely a memorable toy growing up
Two TMNT transforming toys I have are a Donatello that turned into a helicopter and a Rapheal that turns into a jet. Can't remember the toyline name but I remember one set I got a few of. They start as a car (or other land vehicle). You place the disc they come with on the floor and push the car to the disc. The disc goes into a slot at the front of the car and activate a button that causes the vehicle to perform a backflip as they auto-transform into an animal/insect.
took a bit of searching, since i remembered having a firetruck leo; looks like it was two lines, "Road Ready Mutations" ('93) and "Mighty Mutations" ('94). In the Road Ready line: Leo became a fire truck, Donnie became a stock/ car, Splinter became the Party Wagon, and Shredder became a Mutant Module (a drill tank). In the Mighty Mutations line: Leo became a dump truck, Mikey became a cement mixer truck, Raph became a fighter jet, and two different versions of Donnie became either a bulldozer or an attack helicopter. ~~~ as for the transforming cars, i think that's the Mecard series? they even had 'launcher' ramp toys that also transformed. felt like they tried to combine bakugan and transformers...
I had quite a lot of these Attack Pack vehicles. But I played so much with them that most of them broke over the years. I'm sure there's still one or two in a box somewhere, but probably with missing parts. I loved these. And I have the Digivolving WarGreymon on my shelf behind me.
What if I told you that Hot Wheels tried the Transforming cars thing a second time and went absolutely hard on the second try? Hot Wheels Modifighters where these voyager-ish scale cars that had super simple transformations and came with water squirters that revealed battle damage when you shot them with water. They even had this addictive flash game for them!
I had a few of the Dinozaurs toys as a kid. Even brand new the joints were awful, the clear plastic did not hold up and had stress fractures, and the chrome lasted all of 5 minutes of little kid play. Still a badass toy line
As someone who saw Dinozaurs when it was on... Fox Kids? Kids WB? Whatever. It was insane even for the time. I miss Attack Pack so much. I really hope it gets rebooted at some point. The Gen 2 Bakugan toys were basically ALL Bakumorph but at normal Bakugan scale. Gen 3 kinda almost is like that but doesn't do it nearly as well.
Shortly after this video came out, I found _bootleg Dinozaurs figures_ at my local Roses. So, yeah, keep that in mind maybe. Party Wallop is big for a modern Voyager but not quite a full Leader size. It's a little taller than most Voyagers but he's very broad in comparison.
Found this vid in my recommendations, and subbed. Watched the first one as well. I think Zybots were mentioned in the first one's comments. They are funky. Rock Lords are worth a look too, they are a part of Bandai's Machine Robo line from which the GoBots toys were taken from. There was a cartoon during the early 90s called The Bots Master. Some of the bots would pilot vehicles that transformed into mecha, and they could also combine into a bigger bot called Jungle Fiver. I forget who produced the toys, maybe LJN or ToyBiz?
I think early switch and go led me down the path to being a transformers fan. i remember having an orange tow truck that turned into an ankylosaurus and a small green racecar that turned into a raptor or t rex or something
Oh man. I had one or two of the TMNT "pet" transforming toys. The cardbacks and instruction sheets were pretty hilarious because they had the Turtles' IQ _reducing_ the more and more they matured from their native forms into their mutant forms.
God, I've been lookin for these toys for ages. Attack Pack. Finally. Saw that Stego ONCE on a flea market and never again. Finally, time to get it and that bat-one I had as a kid. Thank you!
Holy crap, you just resurfaced a memory of mine, I had one of those V-Tec dinosaurs (the green helicopter-T-Rex one) and I completely forgot about it until now
Thank you! I've had memories of seeing the Parasites line of toys growing up, but no idea where they actually fit in amongst all of the various aspects of my youth growing up other than "Well, they had something to do with dinky cars."
Brazil had this one kid's magazine called "Recreio" (Playtime/Recess), and they had a bunch of toys with, sometimes, accompanying storylines. One of them was called "Megaferas" (Megabeasts) where a trio of characters go back in time to photograph pre-historic animals, but one of the characters wants to take them away to the present with a gadget that turns the beasts into... rocks. The toys pretty much just fold the legs and heads into themselves, but it was a major part of my childhood.
I still have tons of the Vtech dinosaur toys. If it werent for my parents getting me some as a kid i likely wouldnt be into transformers at all or atleast much later
If we're talking transforming toys, you've GOT to mention the ones that released for power rangers ninja storm. They had like, all of the rangers who could transform into power sphere weapons from the show. Red became the serpent sword, navy red was the Spin blade, and the one i LOVED growing up was the navy blue which became the turtle mace. I loved that toy so much that the paint actually wore away on certain parts of it.
I had a small green V-tech T-Rex that I loved and I wanted more. But as I got older, my parents decided to sell it and at that time they weren’t in stock anymore so I couldn’t buy them unless I wanted to spend my limited amount of money…
I still have my Switch & Go Spinosaurus. He doesn't light up or make noise anymore, but he still turns into a huge stealth-bomber-looking jet that fires springloaded discs! Dude rules! Also, if you're thinking of doing a 3rd video on this, maybe look into Car-nivores. I had a few of those as a kid, they were really cool. They don't get very much attention these days...
17:47 my 5 year old cousin has some of these things, and i'm man enought to admit, that as an adult, i still think these things are really cool lol. They're genuinely really neat, and he clearly likes them
I actually did grow up with the V-Tech Dinos and man, they were cool. I remember having the T-Rex and the a Jet Pterodactyl one. Very nostalgic hearing someone talk about them
This is absolutely trippy. I definitely had that green monster hot wheel as a kid. I did NOT walk in expecting a legit nostalgia trip but I guess I loved crappy transformers back then 😂😂
No way, i actually had one of those larger green trex Vtech toys. I never knew what it was but now I know. Sadly the toy has been lost to the sands of time but i remember loving it.
i love swith n go dinos so much, my grandad used to buy them for me, i remember going on a road trip and seeing the big red one in the car on the center console
Great variety of nostalgic robos. I love Attack Pack. Got back into collecting them a few years ago. Since the local vintage toy store had them priced cheap. Just so wildly 90s I got all five of the spaceship ones. Maggot Mouth, CoZmo Clam, Venus Flycraft, Space Sucker, and Galactibite! I think part of the reason their not more popular is you can't pose and display them in their monster form they always change back when you let go of the toy.
Whoa I actually had at least one or two of the Attack Pack toys as a kid, I barely even remember them, but they were super cool. I also had the old TMNT transformers.
I do remember some large transformable toys from either Matchbox or Hotwheels that transformed from standard monster cars, to aeroplanes. But I cannot remember the names of them, but I did have one of them. The Turtles had a cool theme song, but I do like some others better. The Legend of Prince Valiant, Mysterious Cities of Gold, Gummi Bears. Galaxy Rangers, Pole Position, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, Mighty Orbots, Pirates of Dark Water, Thundercats, MASK, Transformers, GoBots,Knight Rider, Airwolf, Street Hawk... all of these, plus many others had some truly epic theme songs.
Another great video, I love the emphasis on lesser known stuff Speaking of, some more information on what I commented about last time lol. Most of the ionix brick lines are forgotten, the only one with anyone left that cares is the original series of tenkai knights. Unfortunately, it’s a bit hard to find information on it due to it being such a small community, but there are 2 discord servers with some very dedicated fans for any information you need. The fandom wiki is borderline useless as always but it has enough for a vague understanding and it also has a discord that would be a good place to start for more in depth stuff
Omg i was JUST talking about the ninja turtles one in the thumbnail with my boyfriend yesterday! I had the 2003 version that came with the slime! I forgot how tottaly bizzare the way the limbs came out the back leg hole!
My cousin had the Bones Attack Pack and my brother and I had the Stego and TRex when we were kids. The three of us almost got our moms to get the Sliminator until they found out it had actual slime lol
Attack Pack awoke something primal in my memories. I had 2 of them growing up. The big one with the wheel teeth and a little kind of generic one thats mouth would snarl to one side if you pressed lightly.
Here because I saw Attack Packs. Absolutely loved them and I have most of them that you showed. You did not mention that a few of them had sound effects! When they opened up they would roar!
I actually bought one of these V-Tech toys for my Nephew. I'm definitely hoping he's enjoying it. Growing up I've only had like one Transformer toy and I don't even remember what it looks like
I actually had one of those 2012 TMNT turtle transformers. It was specifically Mikey, but, when I was younger, I was stupid and sharpied him. Safe to say that he's sadly gone now. I miss that toy.
A toyline i remember liking the concept of as a teenager was D.I.C.E. A team of power rangers-esque humans who could pilot their own dinosaur robots that could transform into different vehicles, but they were engineered so the rider didn't need to be removed. The one I had was a red raptor that turned into a motorcycle, and it was piloted by the kid protagonist who had to use a stilt mechanism to fit the proportions of his suit. It had a show that aired on Toonami, even, but I forgot what the major plot was.
Yoooo I remember the hot wheels ones, I found one at a vacuum station next to the car wash. I remember thinking some kid probably misses this little car robot thing. I think I played with it a couple of times, it was broken but I still liked it.
There is also a TMNT collaboration with the MEGABOX line from 52Toys where the turtles transform into... cubes. They also have an alt-mode where two of them can be combined into a vaguely van-like object.
9:00 There’s also a TMNT and Power Rangers crossover; it was first in a comic, then later Hasbro made toys of the turtles when they temporarily became Rangers. Also in the comic Shredder stole the green Ranger morpher and there’s also a toy of that design.
Here’s an _incredibly_ specific one. Back from 2014-2016 Lego had a line called Mixels. The main “gimmick” of them was that you could buy multiple, take them apart, and combine the pieces to make a Mix. And if you had 3 of the same type of mixels(ie 3 fire guys) you could make a max. In the last year, they made a set of fire fighters called the MCFD and their max form had a very lite transformation gimmick. You could make him fold into a fire truck
Here in Brasil we got a bunch back in the day. Recreio Magazine packed them with each issue. There was Letronix (letters to robots), Mega Letronix (home appliances to robots), Rock Animals (animal/monster to precious mineral) and at least one more I forgot the name of.
Here in the uk we had some transforming characters from kids shows. Fireman Sam was a fire truck that transformed into fireman sam (the main character). And Postman Pat, which like the fireman sam one went from a post van to the main character. I had both of these as a kid since transformers were too expensive back in 2010
6:40 Nickelodeon did some transforming turtle figures a while back as well under the mutations line. They essentially transform into their own respective weapons. There was also a line that had them transform into regular turtles
Jake, you should check out Gold Lightan anime and the figures. He's a giant gold mecha that transforms into a lighter. He also had allies who transform into various home appliances. Such a cool anime and toyline. Fun fact, Gold Lightan aired before Transformers.

I had a few of the Dinozaurs toys as a kid. Even brand new the joints were awful, the clear plastic did not hold up and had stress fractures, and the chrome lasted all of 5 minutes of little kid play. Still a badass toy line
10:35 bro became a robot himself💀
You are somehow the first person to comment about that. No idea why it happened some issue with my editing software
@@dumbjakeworldyou became armada Optimus prime 😂😂
I forget who produced the toys, maybe LJN or ToyBiz?
bro is turning INTO a parasite 10:36
Ok absolutely would love more Bakugan commentary because that toy line always evaded my understanding despite playing it many times
I think early switch and go led me down the path to being a transformers fan. i remember having an orange tow truck that turned into an ankylosaurus and a small green racecar that turned into a raptor or t rex or something
13:38 Woah, I still having 2 of them!!
The red one and the green with black
But they were smaller than those you showed
4:21 Ah! I had that one! I had long forgotten what it was from, and even longer forgotten it at all, until this surfaced an old memory.
Always happy to help you deal with Al G. Rhythm! 😊
Hey, I had that same one! Something broke inside, though, so it always had the Dino eyes lol
Yeah, I had the trex, an orange helicopter, a brachiosaur, and a small raptor that came with one of them. I forgot which it came.
17:47
my 5 year old cousin has some of these things, and i'm man enought to admit, that as an adult, i still think these things are really cool lol. They're genuinely really neat, and he clearly likes them
I actually did grow up with the V-Tech Dinos and man, they were cool. I remember having the T-Rex and the a Jet Pterodactyl one. Very nostalgic hearing someone talk about them
oh my god. I had an attack pack stegasaurus. Completely forgot, you just unlocked a hidden memory for me.
Those Attack Pack toys are SO cool! :0 I've never seen those before, but I love them!
This is absolutely trippy. I definitely had that green monster hot wheel as a kid. I did NOT walk in expecting a legit nostalgia trip but I guess I loved crappy transformers back then 😂😂
the video quality is amazing but my fav part are the off script chuckles and laughs idky but it’s so much funnier 😭😭
Slimeator sounds like the dollar store knock off of waspantor
true
No way, i actually had one of those larger green trex Vtech toys. I never knew what it was but now I know. Sadly the toy has been lost to the sands of time but i remember loving it.
I dont like transformers outside of the movies or toys really that much but for some reason I really like your videos. Keep up the amazing work!
these attack pack toys went hard in my childhood. We all had some. I remember having the t-rex tank among others.
I remember most of my toys from childhood, but the attack pack morphing vehicles I somehow forgot about until now, over 20 years later.
i love swith n go dinos so much, my grandad used to buy them for me, i remember going on a road trip and seeing the big red one in the car on the center console
Another great video, I love the emphasis on lesser known stuff
Speaking of, some more information on what I commented about last time lol.
Switch and Go is literally my childhood and I’m glad it finally gets some spotlight
My cousin had the Bones Attack Pack and my brother and I had the Stego and TRex when we were kids. The three of us almost got our moms to get the Sliminator until they found out it had actual slime lol
Still have the original transforming Leonardo along with Rocksteady and the Turtle Van. Good times :3
I remember having one of the Robo Wheels figures as a kid, it was pretty cool didn't know that there was an animated show
I actually bought one of these V-Tech toys for my Nephew. I'm definitely hoping he's enjoying it. Growing up I've only had like one Transformer toy and I don't even remember what it looks like
I messed with that V-Tech Brachio.
Was cool.
Also, I forgot if you did this last time, but Got Bots was a precursor to Transformers.
I would suggest looking into Computer Warriors as well as M.A.S.K. (and Vortech).
I actually had one of those 2012 TMNT turtle transformers. It was specifically Mikey, but, when I was younger, I was stupid and sharpied him. Safe to say that he's sadly gone now. I miss that toy.
12:04 oh my god I loved this one as a child. Got it as a christmas present 30 years ago
Man, I dig your energy! Subbed 💪🏼
Surprised to not see Modifighters when you went over Hot Wheels. Great video!
Oh man the Attack Pack toys were so cool! I had the jets back when I was a kid.
Thanks for putting the Dino Jam back in my head!
I remember being startled by someone's Attack Pack toy when I was a kid. XD What a fun idea.
Do more tent stuff, talk about the history of their Lego and mega blocks sets!lol
I had the red switch and go velociraptor toy! I thought it was so fun to play with back then, but i don’t think i ever put batteries in it.
i vividly remember the vtech triceratops as a kid and it was so sick. Think we used it so much that it eventually broke, but yeah it was sick xD
I would watch the video a litttttle bit longer lol
Jake, you should check out Gold Lightan anime and the figures. He's a giant gold mecha that transforms into a lighter. He also had allies who transform into various home appliances. Such a cool anime and toyline. Fun fact, Gold Lightan aired before Transformers.
A few Marvel related ones like Megamorphs and Shapeshifters should be included for a part 3 for ya!!
Watch part 1 :)
@@dumbjakeworld oh ok
