- Anyone remember the long line of Kre-O building block sets from Hasbro? With sets heavily influenced by the Transformers? Let's look back at all the released sets and Transformers themed Kreons. This includes everything from buildable figures, vehicles, Micro-Changers, Kreon Warriors, cancelled sets, and featured Manga artwork.

I had no idea that they made so many of these things.
My son and I thought we had a ton of them, but obviously we were barely scratching the surface.
We got them cheap when Target was going bankrupt.
It’s a shame as quickly as Kreo popped onto the scene they left while the tolerances of the parts should have been better the sets were fun and I won’t forget the memories of building some of my favorites like the Sentinel Prime set (and the minifigure breaking the same day I got it) and the Superion set
I love Kre-O still own some old sets and new ones. Earlier this year I managed to get the Giant Optimus Prime set and I love him. Right now the ones in my room is the Big Kre-O Optimus, Superion combiner, Bruticus combiner, Golden Optimus, small Optimus, Small comic con exclusive small Optimus, and chibi Optimus riding chibi Grimlock, and a sea con. But that’s only some of the sets I own.
Kre-o was partly the reason why I stopped being such a Lego loyalist. Lego wasn't getting stale yet, but their only other IP's were star wars, marvel and DC. Mega Construx and Ionix were also doing cool things

You have no idea how thankful I was that my aunt gifted me a repeat big Starscream so that I could have both jet and robot modes without the hassle of the rebuilding process.
So, when Hasbro runs out of ideas for G1, I guess they will have no choice but to start dressing up their characters as gangsters, ninja and cowboys. Who needs new characters anyway.

kre-o had such good ideas for the sets, a huge shame a few weren't able to be released but its cool that we got as much sets/figures as we did, I personally had the bank and construction site sets which i kinda ended up selling last year (minus 3 figures i still have and a couple left over parts lol)
but i do really want to start a collection again, but specifically the kreons as they are pretty cool and imo are a lot better than what lego would do (i mean what other minifigures can transform like that) but also its a fun artstyle

This video reminded me that i have a few of these guys. I'm messing around with them now, and while they're not the greatest, they are some fun little guys. I have 6 of them. Thrust, Seawing, Sharkticon, Beachcomber, Wildrider, and Alpha Trion.
I remember in the early 2010’s my local target put these sets in the Lego aisle so for the longest time I thought Lego already made Transformers sets and didn’t know why everyone was so hyped for the new Optimus Prime set
Kre-O is a collaboration with Korean toy brand Oxford Toys, which also released some Kre-O exclusives only in Korea and Japan with the Family Mart convenience store. It is unfortunate, that Hasbro discontinued the brand.
Man, I remember growing up with KRE-O.
It’s sad that it couldn’t stick around for more time because of the closing of Toys-R-Us.
I got 1 Kre-O Set for Christmas back in 2012 or 2013 but it wasn't a Transformers one 😭
i didn’t buy to much of these sets but taking this look back i wish i collected some of the blind bag figures

My favorite growing up was the Kreon Bruticus (Out of a combining 3 pack) and the Mirage and driver combo, I used to use both of the minifigs all the time. Had the Stealth Bumblebee set as well.
I only got two of these Kre-o sets for Christmas way back, the mini Optimus and the Huge Optimus with the trailer
Takara made a G1 styled brick built optimus prime that could actually transform even before LEGO Optimus prime, but he has one eye and he’s very rare.
I miss kreons. I had bought most of those sets back in the day. I used the vehicle mode builds to display with the G.I. Joes.
i remember getting some of the blind bags at my local Walgreens every time I went oh the nostalgia plus I remember the first ker-o set I got was the Sentinel prime brick build set when I was 5-6 years old I never finished building it sadly
I always saw these on Amazon thinking they were the coolest things ever until lego made optimus and bumblebee 😂
These guys are so strange XD Some of them look awesome and some just look wweeeeiiirrrddd.
I owned some of these sets, I found the plastic to feel cheap and didn’t last like Lego does.
Also the quality wasn’t always good out of box

the only kreo thing I have is the micro changer guzzle. unfortunately his arm and leg broke off their ball joints.

A little fun fact, when kreo re-released their blindbags, they updated some of the prints and use the latest mold of the kre-ons (you can tell by the new hands, hole in the neck, and bar sized holes under the feet)

So… they made a Sentinel Prime with a Headmaster that makes perfect sense with the entire toylike because you can swap the head into any body… AND IT’S A BOTCON EXCLUSIVE 😭😭 god I want that now
8 minutes in, and I had come to realize, there are a seriously insane amount of transformers characters. Like... Jesus Christ. And I thought sonic the hedgehog had a huge cast.
I will never understand how they failed to maximize the Kreon playability by designing a Kre-O Ark or Nemesis.

I always wanted to collect Kreo minifigs, and I still might. But unfortunetly I bought one years ago, and the quality of the plastic felt super cheap. The pieces of the figure either didn’t come apart no matter how hard I tried to pull. Or the pieces didn’t fit together properly. Like the torso was constantly coming apart by itself. And once i removed the weapon from the hand the hand immidiately widened, and was unable to hold the gun anymore. And all this happened right after I opened the packaging. Perhaps it was just my specific copy. I’m not saying all were like this. But it put me off from buying more. Even though I really liked the way the figure looked.

Takara made brick built animated optimus prime and bumblebee and they could actually transform and they came out before LEGO Optimus prime and LEGO bumblebee
