I don't entirely agree because there are merits to a figure of a Transformers character not transforming, but I do agree that the large majorty of Transformers fans and collectors (me included) are most interested in the transformation aspect, toys that are an action figure, puzzle, and car model all in one. It's what makes these toys special.
I disagree. People are immediately turned off by a Transformers character not being able to transform but buy a ThreeZero MDLX figure or a Yolopark model kit and I'm sure they'll change your mind.
A "Transformer that can't" has always been a concept ive wanted for a long time. No kibble, no compromise, just screen-accuracy that made it possible. And then RED existed 😭
It never fails to amaze why they decided to design such visually heavy transformers for 5 movies straight when the goal of the brand is to sell toys. Toy designers that had to fit those designs into functional toys must have hated that.
The problem with modern Transformers thag dont Transform is that Transforming technology has gotten so good that its kinda not needed, you can get accurate figures that also transform
@@fanboyofabandonedthings481Unfortunately though a lot of unofficial figures are also starting to have some major design and material flaws. Also a lot of super specific tiny flaps that are only there to barely make a visual difference for the sake of "perfection."
@@OtakuUnitedStudio yeah I’m not denying that, im just saying that in numerous cases, both official and otherwise, have massively improved, and are more desirable than overpriced statues with no poseability!

I wish they did a Beast Wars version of Action Masters... I mean, Optimus Prime getting in a truck to drive it is one thing, but image Optimus Primal inserting himself into _another gorilla_ as a play feature! It'd be just like my first trip to the zoo.
@Democracylover710 I can't tell if you're being sarcastic. But on the off chance that you aren't. I think this man saw a gorilla creating another gorilla in real time
Another reason that the R.E.D line flopped is because a lot of them were uh, not good. They had odd color choices, bad plastic, malformed accessories, loose joints, and posed a lot worse than a good chunk of modern mainline figures. Yes, most of them had the accuracy part, but they felt like leftover plastic and the fact that there were more posable, better quality, transformable, and sometimes more accurate figures out there, whether official or third party, definitely made them flop.
A notable example of a Transformer with no alt mode is Revoltech. Their Prime doesnt transform, but boy does he compensate with sheer articulation. Before newer figures, even third party struggled to macth the sheer poseability he has.
fun fact about Action Masters, the energy source that explains the lack of transformation “Nucleon” is referenced in Fall of Cybertron in the game’s sniper rifle being named the “Nucleon Charge Rifle”

My favorite transformer toys I had as a kid were both ratchet and bumblebee toys from the rotf (I think, bee might’ve been dark side of the moon), but they were the most accurate toys I’ve seen for the form factor. The transformations felt like an actual puzzle it was so detailed. I remember looking up tutorials for ratchet he was so hard lol, love the video!
I had a knockoff Bumblebee I found under a hotel bed as a kid. Still have him somewhere. It is the size of a Hot wheels but fully transforms into a tiny, very posable action figure.
I'll be honest, I can see something like the Action Masters Nucleon being interesting for a cartoon.. or a game. Something like "A combiner, and there are no humans around, let's switch to Nucleon power and go all out!"
i actually had barricade that doesnt transform his robot form was actually under the police car model so i just played with the police car as like an actual police car you wouldnt want to know what the robot mode looked like under there
7:19 to this day i didn’t even know where or even that i had this cheetor but now i remember having this thing. i honestly didn’t even know what this toy was called or that it was transformers
To be fair, there are loads of transformers that don't transform that are great! (e.g. R.E.D.,YOLOPARK,REVOLTECH), and plenty Transformers that DO transform that Suck.
Man I distinctly remember these things. I even remember bringing that exact bumblebee to show and tell in primary 1 about a decade ago. Man, time flies.
i have a bumblebee toy based on ONE SCENE from dotm where bumblebee partially transforms. technically it doesn’t transform but you pull back on the rear bumper and a bunch of spring loaded guns pop out.
I think the not transforming transformers figures is the best way to give us Transformers characters that have a very complex designs Like Multi Unicron Six Shot Revenge of the Fallen demolisher And other characters that have very complex designs that seems very very difficult to make it transform
I love seeing all the people saying how a transformer that can’t transform is like heresy as I look to my shelf of threezero figures, and just take in how screen accurate they are. I’m aware third party exists, I live and breathe third party just as much as threezero but I find the non transforming stuff way more consistent in quality
The only really good thing about RED was that the accessories were good, and often used 5mm pegs so they could work with normal figures. In which case they were basically a $12 upgrade kit. Kingdom Cheetor didn't come with his "gut gun" but RED Cheetor did. And it was basically the same sculpt as Kingdom Tigatron's.
I became a fan of tf because i love cars and i love robots so to see a robot that can turn into a car was the best thing that ever happened and seeing these ones that cant transform gives me mix feelings
Honestly i think with how wild Legacy is, basically bringing in Rock Lords, I could imagine something like super posable non-transforming figures with partners as a thing again

that's just called "ers" then
Now this isn't "transformers", it's just "ers"
No, it would just be trans if they couldn't form
Cisformers
I hated getting the un transformable transformers back in the early 2000’s
I used to have one and it was a piece of crap...
10:19 who's that bakugan
I had a knockoff Bumblebee I found under a hotel bed as a kid. Still have him somewhere. It is the size of a Hot wheels but fully transforms into a tiny, very posable action figure.
wow I totally forgot about marvel super hero squad 😭
I'll be honest, I can see something like the Action Masters Nucleon being interesting for a cartoon.. or a game.
Something like "A combiner, and there are no humans around, let's switch to Nucleon power and go all out!"
1:09 Gatorade?
i actually had barricade that doesnt transform
his robot form was actually under the police car model so i just played with the police car as like an actual police car
you wouldnt want to know what the robot mode looked like under there
I have a robot replicas of ROTF Jetfire signed by his VA
Man i had the bumblebee from the miniature of the video, you just unlocked my memories
Jake, do car transform vroom go car go?
Now that's a thinker
I couldn’t stop staring at Optimus when he was in the middle where all his autobot watch him make a cute anime gif 😅
I had so many of the RPM cars as a kid. And I mean a LOT
Lucky you, I only owned three as a kid, Optimus Megatron and Skids. But I did own the Devastator Showdown set.
12:05 bro got PTSD
dude unlocked a memory for me with the robot replicas. forgot i had that feisty green autobot as a kid
Micro machines left the chat
i have a bumblebee toy based on ONE SCENE from dotm where bumblebee partially transforms. technically it doesn’t transform but you pull back on the rear bumper and a bunch of spring loaded guns pop out.
bring back jazz😭😭
I think the not transforming transformers figures is the best way to give us Transformers characters that have a very complex designs
Like Multi Unicron
Six Shot
Revenge of the Fallen demolisher
And other characters that have very complex designs that seems very very difficult to make it transform
YT GIFTED A MEMBERSHIP TO ME
You actually got it during a livestream last week! Enjoy the early video!
@@dumbjakeworld then im gonna join more
I love seeing all the people saying how a transformer that can’t transform is like heresy as I look to my shelf of threezero figures, and just take in how screen accurate they are. I’m aware third party exists, I live and breathe third party just as much as threezero but I find the non transforming stuff way more consistent in quality
It's annoying when something disconnects when posing my figures, I prefer something that doesn't transform.
more like just a car toy...
Congrats on doubling your sub count in the last 2 months. That’s amazing. Great accomplishment.
Red also had the terrible materials they used bogging it down. The way they bent was NOT it
The only really good thing about RED was that the accessories were good, and often used 5mm pegs so they could work with normal figures. In which case they were basically a $12 upgrade kit. Kingdom Cheetor didn't come with his "gut gun" but RED Cheetor did. And it was basically the same sculpt as Kingdom Tigatron's.
transformers figures that can't transform are the equivalent of a house with no inside.
YOU DARE INSULT THAT MASTERPIECE OF A BUMBLEBEE FIGURE,IT CREATED MY LOVE FOR TRANSFORMERS
Scorpulator is peak.
transformersn't
I'm glad I'm not autistic and get angry because a toy doesn't transform.
Lol
fun fact: i have a die cast bumble bee car that is just a crappy picture of him/the thing in the thumbnail
I became a fan of tf because i love cars and i love robots so to see a robot that can turn into a car was the best thing that ever happened and seeing these ones that cant transform gives me mix feelings
I LOVED THE RPMS, but saddly, I had only 2- Optimus and Sideswipe. Also, I didnt know the entire time how they were called, so thx for that! XD
Today, we have blockies transformers that don’t transform.
Honestly i think with how wild Legacy is, basically bringing in Rock Lords, I could imagine something like super posable non-transforming figures with partners as a thing again
10:58 I didn’t actually hate these ones they’re actually pretty chill. I had a little tank one as a kid. Very fun
I can vouch for Robot Heroes.
Collected all the Robot Heroes back in the day and have nearly all film figures. They’re pretty affordable.
i have like 7 of the bumblebees in the thumbnail
