No that is not exactly correct. You go to the brother or sister who is taking a wrong step and encourage them to stop if it is a serious misstep, you encourage the wrong doer to go to the elders within a certain time period. If they don't go to the elders, then you go to the elders.

Yep! It’s why I never committed to their version of baptism. Thought it was sad as a teenager one sister used to buy/treat a homeless woman to Mac Donald’s lunch while we were on break if she saw her around. The elders told her to stop doing that after a while and that the magazines and meetings were the best “help” she could get, I was really uncomfortable by that. When there was the baby formula shortage here in the US I saw a bunch of churches offering free formula/clothes/diapers to anyone in need no questions asked. Never see or heard of the Witnesses doing anything like that unless it’s for fellow Witnesses.

Serious question and only because I know a JW who has consistently said they stay out of military/ government/ world affairs. But why do they take government assistance then? this JW is also on full on government benefits- food stamps, wic, section 8, etc. They work one day a week to maintain these things! According to them many witnesses are on these government assistance programs. But they claim the want nothing to do with government? Many of these are ABLE bodied JWs who refuse to work to actually pay for their own living needs. Just feels so hypocritical. Why can’t their version of “God” aka watchtower provide them with all that they need?

When I was young, there was a “brother” who came to the Hall, and he worked long hours at the post office. Some of you may understand that this is a very taxing and sometimes stressful job, but he dutifully came to every meeting, albeit late sometimes, until close to 10:00 when all he wanted to do was maybe relax in front of the tv or get some early sleep. The elders would get on him for wearing his work clothes to the meetings. They suggested bringing a change of clothes and changing in the bathroom, but still remaining on time because, of course, you got in trouble if you consistently came in after the first song. Poor man. I’m not sure what happened to him. I pray he “fell away”.

@@alisterrebelo9013 Adam was the first human “son of God” by virtue of his creation by God. (Ge 2:7; Lu 3:38) When he was condemned to death as a willful sinner and was evicted from God’s sanctuary in Eden, he was, in effect, disowned by God and lost his filial relationship with his heavenly Father.-Ge 3:17-24.
Since they were born of one rejected by God, Adam’s descendants could not claim the relationship of being a son of God simply on the basis of birth. This is demonstrated by the apostle John’s words at John 1:12, 13. He shows that those who received Christ Jesus, exercising faith in his name, were given “authority to become God’s children, . . . [being] born, not from blood or from a fleshly will or from man’s will, but from God.” Sonship in relation to God, therefore, is not viewed as something automatically received by all of Adam’s descendants at birth. This and other texts show that, since Adam’s fall into sin, it has required some special recognition by God for men to be designated as his “sons.” This is illustrated in his dealings with Israel. To answer your question: "am I a child of God?" My answer is yes as a worshiper of Jehovah God.

The Lore of Birthdays (New York, 1952) by Ralph and Adelin Linton “Originally the idea [of birthday greetings and wishes for happiness] was rooted in magic. The working of spells for good and evil is the chief usage of witchcraft. One is especially susceptible to such spells on his birthday, as one’s personal spirits are about at that time. Birthday greetings have power for good or ill because one is closer to the spirit world on this day. Good wishes bring good fortune, but the reverse is also true, so one should avoid enemies on one’s birthday and be surrounded only by well-wishers. ‘Happy birthday’ and ‘Many happy returns of the day’ are the traditional greetings” The giving of birthday gifts is a custom associated with the offering of sacrifices to pagan gods on their birthdays. Certainly the custom was linked with the same superstitions that formed the background for birthday greetings. “The exchange of presents… is associated with the importance of ingratiating good and evil fairies… on their or our birthdays” The traditional birthday cake and candles also have their origin in ancient pagan idol worship. The ancients believed that the fire of candles had magical properties. They offered prayers and made wishes to be carried to the gods on the flames of the candles. Thus we still have the widely practiced birthday custom of making a wish, then blowing out the candles. The Greeks celebrated the birthday of their moon goddess, Artemis, with cakes adorned with lighted candles... The Greeks believed that everyone had a protective spirit or daemon who attended his birth and watched over him in life. This spirit had a mystic relation with the god on whose birthday the individual was born. The Romans also subscribed to this idea. . . . This notion was carried down in human belief and is reflected in the guardian angel, the fairy godmother and the patron saint. . . . The custom of lighted candles on the cakes started with the Greeks. . . . Honey cakes round as the moon and lit with tapers were placed on the temple altars of [Artemis]. . . . Birthday candles, in folk belief, are endowed with special magic for granting wishes. . . . Lighted tapers and sacrificial fires have had a special mystic significance ever since man first set up altars to his gods. The birthday candles are thus an honor and tribute to the birthday child and bring good fortune...”

In response to the not celebrating birthday's. They don't celebrate because birthdays are mentioned twice in the bible, but on both occasions something bad happened. John the baptist was beheaded. I told a couple of jovos; "It isn't about celebrating your birth, it's about celebrating life because you don't know how short it can be". "Besides, women are mentioned in the bible more times than that for doing bad things and we don't condemn them". We all know who ate from the tree of life first. Why was John the baptist beheaded? The guy said "I see your point". I wonder if they'll change their narrative, again for the firsty fifty second time.

First century Christians did not celebrate birthdays because that was something the pagans celebrated and the Christians rejected birthdays as they didn't want to be associated with any type of pagan worship.
You can rationalize all you want about why you observe any holiday but changing the name Saturnalia to Christmas or Worship of Ishtar to "Easter" doesn't clean the pagan filth off them.

Alexander the Great required his troops to be clean-shaven. The reason was that a beard makes a perfect "handle" for grabbing and lifting the chin, to expose the throat for slashing. The Persians, against whom Alexander fought, in contrast, took great pride in their beards, often weaving precious gems into them. No doubt, the Macedonians took full advantage of those beards, in combat.

This is why their translation, as well as many other so-called "Christian" translations are downright blasphemous against the Son of God. They say that Jesus was "the end of the Law" at Romans 10:4, instead of indicating him to be the goal, aim or fulfillment of the Torah.
However, as we will see in the following passages, Yeshua commanded to keep what is preached from Moses' seat before his death and resurrection, and after his death and resurrection, he directed to teach everything he commanded. Thus, if he "ended" the Torah, he sure did not act like it.
Matthew 23:1-3 (TLV): Then Yeshua spoke to the crowds and to His disciples, saying, “The Torah scholars and Pharisees sit on the seat of Moses. So whatever they tell you, do and observe. But don’t do what they do; for what they say, they do not do.

JW's teach there is no hell but the following proves differently.
Jesus Himself Speaks About Hell And How Not To Go There:
In Luke 16:19-31 Jesus describes a rich man that lived lavishly and a poor beggar man named Lazarus. It came to pass that Lazarus died and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom. The rich man died, was buried, then went to hell. 23 And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in TORMENT, saw Abraham afar off and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue, for I am tormented IN THIS FLAME. 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that you in your lifetime received good things, and likewise Lazarus received evil things, but now he is comforted and you are tormented. 26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that they which would pass from hence to you can not, neither can they pass to us, and would come from thence. 27 Then he said, I pray you therefore father, that you would send him to my father’s house. 28 For I have 5 brothers that he may testify unto them, lest also come into this place of torment. 29 Abraham said unto him, They have Moses and the prophets, let them hear them. 30 And he said, Nay father Abraham, but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. 31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.”
LOCATION OF HELL: Jesus said in Matthew 12:40, ”For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly, so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the HEART OF THE EARTH.” Paul said in Ephesians 4:9, ”Now that he ascended, was it but that he also DESCENDED into the LOWER PARTS OF THE EARTH.”
HELL IS A PLACE OF FIRE: Jesus said in Luke 16:24,”….Father Abraham have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue for I am TORMENTED IN THIS FLAME.”
Jesus said in Matthew 13:42,”And shall cast them into a FURNACE OF FIRE, there shall be WAILING AND GNASHING OF TEETH.” Jesus said in Matthew 25:41,”Then shall he also say to them on the left hand, Depart from me, you cursed, INTO EVERLASTING FIRE, prepared for the devil and his angels.”
Jesus said in Revelation 20:15,”And whosoever was not found written in the book of life, was CAST INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE.”
HELL IS A PLACE OF TORMENT: Jesus said in Luke 16:23,”And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in TORMENT….” 24 …..for I am TORMENTED in this flame.” Jesus said in Revelation 14:11,”And the smoke of their TORMENT ascended up FOR EVER AND EVER, and they have no rest day or night….” Jesus said in Mark 9:45-46,”And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off, it is better for you to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the FIRE THAT NEVER SHALL BE QUENCHED. 46 Where their WORM DIES NOT, and the fire is not quenched.” Note that it doesn’t say “THE Worm”, it says “THEIR WORM” dies not. Jesus said in Revelation 21:8,”But the fearful and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whore mongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns WITH FIRE AND BRIMSTONE, which is the second death.” Note that Brimstone is Sulfur and burns with a very strong odor of rotten eggs.
The scriptures above prove when a person goes to hell they will constantly see hell, constantly smell hell, constantly feel the heat of hell, will constantly breath hell, will constantly hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth of others in hell, will constantly be aware of their own worms, they will have no rest day or night, there is no way out and it will continue for ever and ever, they can’t die because they are already dead.
The following is how to not go there and it is a SIMPLE AND EASY thing to do:
All of the book of Acts is what Jesus disciples said what we must to be SAVED - meaning not go to hell, which is repentance, water baptism in Jesus NAME, (Not the titles Father, Son, and Holy Ghost) and being baptized with the Holy Ghost. Jesus said in Mark 16:16,"He that believes and is BAPTIZED shall be SAVED, but he that believes not shall be damned."
At about that same time He said in Matthew 28:19,"Go therefore and teach all nations BAPTIZING them in the name (SINGULAR name and not name's) OF the Father, and OF the Son, and OF the Holy Ghost." Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are titles and not names. Jesus disciples never used those words when they baptized anyone in water, nor did they use those words in one sentence regarding any other topic. Every time they invoked Jesus NAME at baptism which is Acts 2:38, Acts 8:14-18, Acts 8:38, Acts 9:18, Acts 10:44-48, Acts 16:15, Acts 16:33, Acts 18:7, Acts 18:8, Acts 19:3-5, and Acts 22:16.
Jesus said in John 3:3-7,"Verily, verily I say unto you, Except a man BE BORN AGAIN, he can not see the kingdom of God. 5 Verily, verily I say unto you, Except a man be born of water AND of the Spirit, he can not enter into the kingdom of heaven. 7 Marvel not that I say unto you, YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN." Being born of water is being baptized in water which is for the REMISSION OF SINS - meaning the INITIAL remission of sins and not the confessing of sins later addressed in 1 John 1:9. Being born of the Spirit is being baptized with the Holy Ghost. What being baptized with the Holy Ghost means is addressed in Acts 2:3-4, (Pentecost), Acts 8:17, Acts 9:18, Acts 10:44-48, and Acts 19:3-5 - which is when the Spirit of Christ initially dwells in a person. Nowhere in Scripture does it say it happens any other way than that way. There is not one Scripture that says a person receives the Holy Ghost just because they are a believer. Acts 19:1-5 is a good example.
Paul said in Romans 8:9-11,”But you are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if so be that the spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, HE IS NONE OF HIS."
Numbers 23:19, ”God is not a man that he should lie, neither the son of man, that he should repent, has he said and shall he not do it? And shall he not make it good?”
Malachi 3:6,”For I am the Lord, I change not...”
Hebrews 13:8,”Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” That means there is no reason to think that Jesus will make an exception and save someone that has not been baptized in water in Jesus NAME, and has not been baptized with the Holy Ghost.
Some say the thief on the cross next to Jesus was not baptized yet Jesus told him he would be in paradise with him that day. Jesus had not given the COMMANDMENT to be baptized in HIS NAME until after he had risen from the dead and before he ascended into heaven. The thief on the cross could not have been baptized because he did not know about it.
if you do what Jesus said above in Mark 16:16, Matthew 28:19, and John 3:3-7, you will be making SURE your name is Written In Lamb's Book Of Life.
If you are convinced you need to get baptized in water in Jesus Name do a search and type in "United Pentecostal Church International", scroll down to just below the red box, type in your zip code, a screen will show a Church near you that will do that.
Jesus said John 10:27, ”My Sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”

Yea, I'm NOT a JW, but the only "rule" i agree with on that list - is the "holiday" one (birthdays excluded).
It is true that many of the, so called "holy-days" within Christianity are rooted in Paganism!... In which sadly, got assimilated into the worship of The Most High YHWH God, as the pagan gentiles began coming into The compromised Church congregations...
Christmas on Dec.25th/ Easter Sun-day/ Sun-day Worship/ St. Valentines Day/ Halloween etc... are all the "times"/"festivals" that the various heathen cultures "observe".
According to Catholic Tradition: Even Polycarp, a Bishop of The Smyrna Church, refused to compromise, and argued against The Roman Bishop/Pope Anicetus, who was putting pressure on his, and other, congregations... in the keeping of the new, strange, doctrine of "Easter Sun-day" ( a pagan-rooted ) "name"& "time", NOT "according to the scriptures" of Lev. 23 : 4 - 14 & 1 Cor. 15 : 1 - 4 ), in honor of the "death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Deut 12 : 4 "Ye shall NOT DO SO unto YHWH your God."
Deut 12 : 29 "When YHWH thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest to possess them, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their land;"
Deut 12 : 30 "Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou ENQUIRE NOT AFTER THEIR GODS, saying, HOW DID THESE NATIONS SERVE THEIR GODS? EVEN SO WILL I DO LIKEWISE."
Deut 12 : 31 "Thou shalt NOT DO SO unto YHWH thy God: for EVERY ABOMINATION to YHWH, which HE HATES, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods."
Deut 12 : 32 "What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt NOT ADD thereto, NOR DIMINISH from it."
    ..........................................................
The word - "Easter" is a word/name derived from the pagan fertility sun goddess, Eostre, and her other cultural counter-parts, i.e; Ishtar, Astarte, Ashtoreth, etc...that the pagans give honor to during the worship festival of the Spring Equinox.
Yea, as Christians, we shouldn't even be SAYING THE NAME(S) of Easter, or even the pagan names on the Gregorian calendar, for that matter.

A lot of things are Pagan. Really Paganism most broadly refers to an old way of doing things. Old rituals and traditions that predate Christianity. By your logic you shouldn’t even be saying the days of the week, or the months of the year. All those names are derived from pagan gods. Covering your mouth when you yawn, wedding rings, bridesmaids, wearing jewelry, having cats as pets, crossing your fingers, and even wearing makeup are all pagan in origin.
But notice I said they are Pagan in ORIGIN. I believe that when most women aren’t wearing eye makeup to gain the favor of the Egyptian god Horus. And we don’t cover our mouths when yawning to prevent our life force from escaping or stop demons from entering.
I think intention and meaning matters. Most Pagan traditions don’t have the same meaning to us as they once did. They’re just part of day to day life, and I’m sure God is aware of our intentions. If you’re not worshiping, then you’re not worshipping.

(which was also the folly, and fall, of ancient Israel..
      History is repeating )
      ......................................................................
Exodus 23 : 13 "And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and MAKE NO MENTION OF THE NAMES OF OTHER GODS, neither let it BE HEARD OUT OF THY MOUTH."

The Days/weeks/ and Months on YHWH God's Biblical Calendar are all numbered... except for the 7th day of the week: which He calls "His Sabbath". ( Genesis 1 & Genesis 2 : 1 - 3 ... Leviticus 23 )
Daniel 7 : 25 "And he ( one coming out of the 4th BEAST( of Rome) shall Speak Great Words Against the most High, and shall Wear Out the saints of The Most High, and THINK to CHANGE TIMES and LAWS: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time."
      ( See: Daniel 7 : 23 - 25 )
( The Roman Church did "think" to "change" The Most High's "times" and "laws": at The Council(s) Of Nicea and Laodicea, in the 4th century...
And even now; there is a subtle move once again to "shift" the day of "sun-day" from the 1st day of the week, to the "7th day of the week", in the manufacturing of some (Gregorian) calendars.

If I’m not worshipping false gods, then I’m not. You can make anything about God and Christians can bring God into any aspect of their life even if the origin is pagan. The cross? Pagan Romans used it, yet the cross is talked about being boasted in the Bible. Sunday? Pagan, it was used to worship Helios the Greek sun God but Sunday is now used to worship Jesus by Christians. The apostle Paul clearly stated at 2 Cor. 6: 14-18, "Do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers, ...... for what agreement does God's temple have with idols?"......Therefore separate yourselves, and quit touching the unclean thing,".
But I agree with the comment about birthdays. I think that should be a matter of conscience and no one should be criticized for choosing to celebrate his life, achievements, and reflections.

I agree with mostly everything you mentioned, except for birthdays.
Birthday’s were never celebrated by God’s people. Ever!
Birthday celebrations are nothing but polytheistic symbolism.
The cake represents the moon goddess, the smoke from the candles, wishes, birthday punches, as well as all the other elements of a birthday celebration are rooted in paganism!
The church of satan describes the birthday celebration as the most important day to a satanist, because it promotes self worship and doing your own will instead of God’s!

    • @mo2874
      @mo2874 Год назад

@@LightoverDarkMinistry I'll begin with the first one...dress and grooming...
Jehovah's Witnesses are encouraged to wear what is generally considered presentable/formal for public meetings and activities. In India or Africa for example men do not have to wear suits, they can wear traditional dress as you can see in some of the literature showing Witnesses at meetings or out in public service. But there is nothing wrong with being identifiable also by wearing shirt and tie for example.
Outside of public worship they can wear what they choose as long as considered generally appropriate or not linking a person to a particular group.
The Jews were given guidelines on dress and grooming. And early Christians were too.
      Numbers 15:37-40 New Living Translation
      Tassels on Clothing
37Then the LORD said to Moses, 38“Give the following instructions to the people of Israel: *Throughout the generations to come you must make tassels for the hems of your clothing* and attach them with a blue cord. 39When you see the tassels, you will remember and obey all the commands of the LORD instead of following your own desires and defiling yourselves, as you are prone to do. 40The tassels will help you remember that you must obey all my commands and be holy to your God.
      Leviticus 19:27 New Living Translation
*27“Do not trim off the hair on your temples or trim your beards.*
28“Do not cut your bodies for the dead, *and do not mark your skin with tattoos.* I am the LORD.
1 Peter 3:3 New Living Translation
3Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of *fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes.*
1 Timothy 2:9 New Living Translation
And I want women to be *modest in their appearance.* They should *wear decent and appropriate clothing and not draw attention to themselves* by the way they fix their hair or by wearing gold or pearls or expensive clothes.
*10For women who claim to be devoted to God should make themselves attractive by the good things they do.*
*The commands separated them from the other nations. Christians (which Jehovah's Witnesses are) have to be the same - They have to be easily identifiable from people around them who do not live by God's principles.*
      Deuteronomy 18:9 New Living Translation
“When you enter the land the LORD your God is giving you, be very careful not to imitate the detestable customs of the nations living there.
1 John 2:15-17 New Living Translation
      Do Not Love This World
*15Do not love this world nor the things it offers you,* for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. 16For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, *a craving for everything we see,* and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. 17And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. *But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.*
*Just like the Apostles (who were a governing body in the first century), the governing body of Jehovah's Witnesses today reserve the biblical right to encourage or discourage things as they see the world and attitudes change. Their focus is on how it could affect the presentation of the bibles message...*
A century ago, women wearing makeup were perceived as prostitutes, now makeup is common. At one time prostitutes were easily identifiable by their revealing/seductive clothing. Now every day women wear similar clothes daily.
Now the line between genders is blurring. Men can dress in what can be called effeminate ways - very tight clothing which focus attention on certain body anatomy.
Nothing should take ones attention away from the bibles message preached...even how we dress. *Witnesses try to practice the morals they preach...*
      Romans 22:21-24 New Living Translation
*21Well then, if you teach others, why don’t you teach yourself?* You tell others not to steal, but do you steal? 22You say it is wrong to commit adultery, but do you commit adultery? You condemn idolatry, but do you use items stolen from pagan temples?b 23You are so proud of knowing the law, but you dishonor God by breaking it. 24No wonder the Scriptures say, “The Gentiles blaspheme the name of God because of you.”c

@@LightoverDarkMinistry Another Scripture about dress that could be mentioned just popped into my head. It shows the thinking of Christians regarding dress should be different to the general view of those around them...
      Matthew 6:25-33 New Living Translation
*25“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life* -whether you have enough food and drink, *or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?* 26Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? 27Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
*28“And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, 29yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 30And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you.* Why do you have so little faith?
31“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? *What will we wear?’ 32These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers,* but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. *33Seek the Kingdom of Gode above all else, and live righteously,* and he will give you everything you need.
      James 2:1-4 New International Version
      Favoritism Forbidden
1My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism. *2Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in.* 3If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,” *4have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?*
Christians should have their focus on declaring God's message not on daily matters such as clothing. The message is declared impartially and how a Christian dresses should not detract from the message...

Even a Christian cannot brush aside the worship of Jehovah God. In Revelation 1:5 the Son of God called himself "Jesus Christ, 'The Faithful Witness.'" When on earth as a man he was a Jew, an Israelite, to whose nation the words of Isaiah 43:10 were written: ""'You are my witnesses, ' is the utterance of Jehovah, even my servant whom I have chosen.'" Jesus demonstrated that he was a faithful and true witness of Jehovah God. His genuine disciples today must be the same kind of witnesses, Jehovah's.
