Few months ago, I was going to get a Sony x90l which is already a great tv, but I saw the Bravia next to it at the store and it was a touch brighter, more contrasty and vibrant and I trusted my instincts and got the Bravia 7 instead. Almost addicted to watching tv now and no regrets. 🤩
The price in the US is strange. Just bought the Panasonic in New Zealand for $1800 NZD. Minus 15% gst thats 1530NZD. Converted thats just over $900 USD. Making it way cheaper. The fact it comes close is impressive.
The w95a is more inline with the Samsung qn85d and LG qned90t. Most video enthusiasts would snub their nose at the qned90t but not the Panasonic despite performing very similarly to the LG.
These were my main 2 options last week, with Samsung QN90D as well. I ended up getting a B7 after being able to get a nice discount. Pretty glad with the purchase so far
You’ll probably let want an OLED then. Old TVs back then lacked motion blur, which is still slightly noticeable in all LCDs, although it doesn’t bother most people. OLEDs are the only current TV technology to use self emissive pixels that can change brightness instantly rather than a fixed backlight and liquid crystals that need some time to change state.
@@justanotheryoutubechannel still oled is nothing close to crt motion clarity. Need about 1000hz(with 1000fps to match) to have similar motion clarity as crt on oled. Of course you'd also be getting about 16x motion smoothness compared to 60hz crt due to the hz increase. Eyetracked motion clarity isn't everything, smoothness matters too.
Been waiting for this video all year!! Thanks Abby! 🎉 Ps. Please don’t forget these kinds of TVs will be used ALOT for nfl/college football and intl soccer! Most of which is NOT in hdr or 4k! 🎉
So one of the most important categories is blooming. Unless I misheard, you said there’s less on the Panasonic but you gave the Sony a higher score? Also native contrast is around 20% better on the panny? Surely that affects blooming more than having more dimming zones… We need to see a subtitle test… And I feel this vid needs a follow-up. I feel bad for Panasonic is they’re trying to enter the NA market and don’t get the right credit
The x93l is quite a bit more expensive than the 7. Btw….Caleb with Digital Trends puts the W95 a right there with the 7. So one’s viewing and opinion of the two varies.
Maybe u should put another point on tvs u tested... updates! My sony 2020 model 9095, have not any major update and i mean from Android 10 to 11. Maybe u must add this, ofc i don't know if this happens with 99% of tvs so its not point to add it.

In terms of sales, lg and Hisense or right behind them. Sony's at the bottom of the barrel because they think they can charge such a premium it's no better than maybe 10% better
She should’ve mentioned that RTINGS calibrated the W95A to a 9.8/10 and the Bravia 7 to a 9.5/10. Also, the Bravia 7 was released about 6 months before the W95A. Costco had the W95A on sale for $799 for a few weeks; a much better value.

If you happen to buy the Panasonic W95A for $799.99 from Costco, then you got a great deal.
Just wish it was 75 inches lol😅

This video is highly rewarding. Especially the end 😉😉
Thanks for confirming my purchase of the Bravia 7 haha

I fully expect Panasonic to make in-game changes and come out swinging in it's sophomore year in the US....
we NEED more competition in the LED LCD TV space, especially from brands that are NOT chinese...

Same here, I was so close to getting the W95A. Glad I got the Sony though, as I already own the Theater Quad’s
Abby,
Any reason to expect Sony would bring a 55" version of the Bravia 9?
I heard that the smaller the tv screen size is, the local dimming gets worse. So probably no. The 65 inch display is coming to Europe though.
I just need a TV that process fast movements smoothly like the bubble screens did going back to at least the '60s.

Panasonic is Half the price, no brainer
Why is the Bravia 7 dimmer in game mode? It has practically the same numbers of nits in game mode and outside of the game mode.
Your dance moves, remind me of Sesame Street, spanish version from Mexico, regards from Boston!!

There are no X93Ls in Europe. Consider making recommendations for US and EU market.

One is half the Price at 799$ Panasonic for the Win!
Agreed. For something only a bit less capable it's an absolute steal of a value. Just have a pro adjust the colors and you'll easily save $600.
No way for all that just get the tcl qm751g
@@micdoses1 I had the QM7 great TV but Sports motion and Panasonic game changer

It's refreshing to watch a RTINGS video that doesn't find a way mention Hisense. ; )
Sony tax is such a killer. Would definitely get a Bravia 7 but you can get a lg C4 for the same amount or even sometimes less.
Sony is the best that’s why
C4 ? The Oled that can't do brightness?
It's like the Toyota tax.
@@Honoritthanxtoyota is cheap.

Number one Sony 👑

Do you guys even respond to comments?
No
Absolutely not
These tvs aren’t even in the same price tier. Why compare them?
Yes they are. The Panasonic is just as nice. I can't tell the difference.
👍
Sounds like the w95a is over-hyped.
pretty much :(
