Hi Katie! I’m a krazy kat lady of 16 cats here in the mountains of Virginia. I fostered over 70 cats and kittens for a local rescue in a one year period…while working full time with health problems. My cats are my passion, they keep me grounded. What I miss the most was raising my two single bottle babies. The first I got at 4 weeks old, the last one was only 8 hours old. I put their carrier on my bed and woke up to feed them every two hours during the night. I miss their little cries when they heard me call them awake for a feeding. I feel thankful to have given them a good start in life. ❤
Thank you for being a Lightworker for Animals Katie! You're an inspiration. Did you start off fostering for a rescue before you started yours? ❤ 🐈 🐈⬛️
Otter! Love her name! And the teacher that rescued and gave life to this dear house panther is a heroine! A rockstar goddess. Otter is precious. May she eventually be adopted by kind, loving people. Love is all that matters. 💗
She is absolutely adorable!! I have an 8yo black cat, Abigail, who weighs in at 7lbs, has only one eye and runs my house like she's the Queen of Everything. And I love it!
As someone who's fostered a lot of kittens, I think it's always important to stress that kittens who are very young cannot urinate on their own and need stimulation. So few people seem to know about this. What a cutiepie! Thanks for making the video ❤
Oh, my gosh, Otter is the cutest, sweetlest little kitten ever and she does look like a miniature panther. I pray that this precious little fur baby will be able to be placed in a loving home one day. Thank you so much for being a great foster mom to this precious little soul. ♥♥
Yep that’s why hubby and I ended up with 5 cats😹😹😹when it came time to find Missy’s kittens a new home we just could not do it. They lived for almost 20 years Missy out lived 3 of her 4 kittens. It was sad as we lost each one to old age. But they were the light of our lives. Since then I have constantly had strays finding me and hanging around so I’m never without a fur baby sleeping on my bed.
Otter is the cutest kitten ever! Hope she finds a family who is going to love her to the moon and back! Thanks for taking care of her! You are a wonderful person and God bless you always for your kindness!🙏❤️
@@TopHatNat But she gave the little fur ball a chance at life anyway. Setting an alarm for every two or three hours to feed her overnight, and carrying her constantly. Hopefully someone who loves her as much will adopt her.
@@hugejohnson5011 True. I was just sad for little otter but you're right, she'll be loved by her forever humans. If I think about how kittens have to leave their mothers when they are old enough to, then I feel better about otter having to leave her human mother.
You are simply one of God's merciful angels. Thank you for having enough compassion in your heart to care for this kitty. You saved her life. I hope she finds a good and safe forever home full of love. Thank you!
If Otter goes to a forever home, Katie can save more kittens. Fostering is a difficult job and people who can do it are rare and special. Otter leaving Katie at the age kittens normally leave their moms will be a healthy, happy move for her, especially if her new home adopts another kitten the same age.
Oh, I wouldn’t be able to give that baby up no way so adorable and what a cute name. May God watch over that little baby and God bless you for taking and rescued animals.🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️
Ohhh….how I wish there were some way that we could follow her story and see how she does and find out who will be the lucky one(s) to love her forever…🐈⬛😽. Blessings to she & her current “mom”. What a good job you are doing for her to have just the best life ❤
That little cry is so sweet! And yes, she was so tiny. I have never in my life handled a new kitten, and don"t think that I could part with her after nursing her along.
Whoever adopts her needs to know ALL the details....bottle fed baby...single kitten....no mother and no littermates.....totally different kind of cat....and going to a new home can bring on unwanted issues!!.... I rescued for 40yrs +....I've seen it happen too many times...people end up dumping it or hopefully bring her back IF she develops these issues ❤
Agreed. Little Otter will likely have attachment issues, and that's very sad. A clingy cat might be cute, but that's not a good thing. I hope she'll be able to integrate in a home with other cats.
While it's amazing to have people like this so dedicated to helping animals in need, I can't help but feel bad for the mom who probably came "home" to find her baby missing and will never understand what happened.
This fur kitty is so adorable. 💖Thanks for fostering her, saving her, Katie🙏🙏. I hope she finds a loving forever home soon. Keep up the good work Katie. I am about to go on my journey to rescue animals, inspired by the animal videos and the angels like you out there 😇😇 (Australia). We can all make a difference, one animal at a time 🐅🐱🐇🦆🐾
You did amazing job, saving little kitten and providing it with everything it needed to survive. It a big job feeding the kitten every two or three hours. I did something similar, but it was four of them.
She didn't want to put her down. The shelter said that if they didn't find someone who could feed her every two hours, they would have to put her down at the end of the day. She took her in and fed her every two hours so she WASN'T euthanized.
If she keeps every kitten that she fosters she will eventually no longer be able to foster. This in turn would mean that many kittens will not receive the same help that Otter did. It's hard, but sometimes it's better to give the kittens away. I'm sure that Otter will find a lovely home, maybe even with a few cat buddies ❤
@@Maypril1894 I know all this, I was being " tongue in cheek"... we've all been there where we want to keep all the critters we save. Please recognize satire for what it is and just enjoy every fur baby that crosses our paths🥰.
I worked from home during covid. I also took care of a rescued kitten, getting up and feeding every 2 hours. He wanted to be held when not feeding so I made a blanket to carry him in like a pouch. I would put that blanket on my lap and continue working. It's a little effort but it's what you do to care for fur babies that you love.
I had a rescue kitten Otter’s age and was determined to foster and give her up for adoption. My heart just attached. I was her Mom and she was my baby. Foster: FAIL. Taco is my girl and I’m so glad of it.
It might be at first, but I'm sure she will find a lovely home. She's still very young, she has a lot of time to adjust. Maybe her forever family will even come with a few cat buddies.
Every time there's a video about foster animals there are dozens of comments saying "PLEASE KEEP THEM THEY'RE ATTACHED THEY'RE MEANT TO BE WITH YOU" And this is why very few people are cut out to be foster parents for animals. Giving foster animals up to forever homes is a vital part of the job, and it is HARD. If every foster was a fail, there would be no room for more fosters, meaning the animals that would be fostered wind up euthanized instead due to no room in shelters. I think a lot of people forget this. Kittens don't typically stay with their biological mothers for their entire lives, so it should be no different for foster kittens cared by their foster parents. Of course, going to a new home is stressful, but after enough time they will adjust to their new families.
I am 61 and I have found many newborn kittens in my lifetime veterinarian said that there was a 90% chance that they would not make it I was fortunate I was raised by my mom who was a farm girl in the Midwest 1940s and she had mini family goats pigs lambs cats dogs you name it she showed me how to care for them how to properly feed them this was way before there were such things as premade kitten food my mother showed me homemade ways to feed them with people food yeah and throughout the years I’ve enhanced on that it is so wonderful to see that he found his heart in you yes they all have blue eyes when they are born but often change color by the time they are six months old God bless you both a family of rescues and found🥰 They cling to those who care and feed them you develop a bond that is priceless and good love to you both Is there a reason why you would not keep her she has developed a bond with you that can likely cause her some psychological issues if torn away
I think there should be like a one days seminar in middle school teaching that if baby animals look healthy, do not move them, their mom will be back as well as other things along those lines - like what to do if an animal is in trouble.
Thank you thank you. I cannot thank you enough. I wish I could do something for a boy cat that's been hanging around my house. He seems young, unfixed, skittish, was fine yesterday, but... He's limping today, can't put weight on one of his legs at all. I'm elderly and he won't allow anyone to get too close to him. All I could do was feed him.
