How to remove an Instrument Cluster | GM Dashboard Removal

DIY Bri shows you how to remove the dashboard on a Chevy Silverado, and remove the instrument cluster for repair or replacement or to remove the radio for repair or replacement. This video will apply to many GM car's and Trucks such as the Tahoe, Yukon, Silverado, Escalade, Suburban, S-10, Blazer, Trailblazer especially in the year range 1995-2006 and some 2007 Classic Chevy Trucks. Brian what suggestions do you have for getting the blower for AC/Heat up and running? I already changed the relay that is above the glove box. Is it hard to change out the actual blower motor. Great Video.

Brian. I have a 1985 Chevy G30 van. As I understand it, they were all essentially the same from '68 though '96 but from '97 onward, Chevy trucks and vans have substantially different. Any tips on accessing the instrument cluster on an '85 G30? Thanks.

Thank you for the video so is it possible just to disconnect a couple warning lights? I have a short in the brake warning and seat belt lights, brake warning flashes and beeps constantly if my Silverado isn't stopped

+badranger2004 On some makes and models like the Toyota it can cause some issues...However 06 and older GM you are OK.

Don't you think it would be a very good idea to turn the key switch off before removing the plug to the instrument cluster? You did not cover this point and removing plug with power on can do irreparable damage to the instrument cluster.

I would of thought to disconnect the battery first to eliminate battery drain.
