Running an AMD computer system? AMD have release a security warning about low privileged malicious users may be able to access and leak data through the AMD Chipset Driver. Update it right now to patch the AMD Chipset Driver. The vulnerability exists in AMD Platform Security Processor (PSP) chipset driver.

what we do if in the secutrites part we just have a device named ": Trusting Platform module 2" ? and the auto installer doesnt find anything refering to amd psp ?

yeah computer stuff you want to manually check and install updates. Games/programs you can truth the auto update feature.
Altho this SHOULD be fine, I'm always strong against auto search when it comes to drivers, especially graphics. The ddu method should always be the #1 way to uninstall/install new graphics drivers.

Strange, W11 Device Manager said Drivers up to date. AMD site said Drivers ood and updated them. Thanx for the heads up🖖

3:41 It shows all those things, but when I install, it says installation failed, tried many things , unable to update using that AMD chipset installer. I have R5 5600x on Asus tuf x570 motherboard.
Thanks much for the warning - worked fine - only one restart and a simple txt file summarizing that all 6 updates went. Educational that Windows Update doesn't get it here - had to go to AMD and the download tool. Also, educational that AMD Ryzen 3000 series means Ryzen 7 also.
3000 series just refers to the Zen2 generation where R7 refers to the 8 core processors in the desktop range.
I do not have the "Security devices" option when I go into my device manager, I have no idea why I do not but is there another way I could update the drivers?

Are AMD CPU's storing passwords??? If so, that's positively grotesque practice.
Its a bit of a worry, I wonder if Intel does the same thing?

I'm not a computer scientist, but I think I've read that passwords might get stored in the CPU cache or RAM in encrypted form before being flushed. This does not mean that AMD or Intel are looking for your passwords in order to steal them. It's how CPUs work in order to do what we want them to do. The problem is that modern CPUs have become so complicated with their fancy branch predictors and multi-threading that there's a chance a malicious process might access the shared caches where this information is stored through a security hole the CPU engineers or OS programmers have overlooked. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

AMD FX Bulldozer CPU not Affected?
The drivers are available on the AMD website since september 13, I wonder if some data has been compromised. This is good news for pro-Intel sites like Toms Hardware...
Cheers for that mate, I hadn't heard about the vulnerability but I just manually installed the new drivers, only had to restart once but I suppose that's because I'm not using an AMD GPU.👍

Hi. I have a Ryzen 5800X with a Nvidia card and the auto detect program worked the first time, but now whenever i try to run it, i just get error 182. Thanks to google i know its and AMD graphics card problem, but that doesnt fit in my case. Couldnt find a solution for it online and already tried to reinstall on multiple drives.

HELP: I did this method exactly because some videos games told me my driver's were not up to date. After installing this and restarting my PC the video games still say my drivers are not up to date. Does anyone know how to fix this? Is there a file in my PC with the older date that the game is reading? I always have trouble with Radeon graphic driver uodates

Auto detect for and isn’t showing up on AMDs website anymore. Would’ve made my life so much easier
I did that yesterday and my games started to stutter and lag. I had to roll back the drivers

That shouldn't happen, my Ryzen rig is working as good as before I installed the new drivers. You can try a clean install, chipset drivers first then graphics card drivers.

I instaled the latest AMD chipset drivers on my PC. But do I also need to install the AMD RAID installer (SATA, NVMe RAID)? I'm a little bit confused 😐
No doubt you have your answer already but for the sake of others I'll add that that download _only_ contains RAID drivers/software (for SATA RAID and NVMe RAID,) not the standard AMD SATA AHCI driver (which many modern systems also do not need).

For anybody unable to update i found it under optional update in windows update. First go device manager, go to update driver for psp 11.0 device, search automatically for drivers, then windows tells you the best drivers are already installed, thats a lie. You need to scroll down and select search for updated drivers on windows update. It takes you to windows update, now go to view optional updates in blue then driver update. You will finally see the 5.17.00 update, click the box to update. So many hoops to jump through its ridiculous.

ok I realized that i needed to do this have a Ryzen Threadripper 3970X 32-Core - 3690 MHz (32 cores, 64 threads), ROG STRIX TRX40-E GAMING Rev 1.xx MB, and it was OC'd, after installing the update I had to go into the Bios, because system would not boot, forgot I was water cooled, and had no CPU fan hooked up to the cpu fan on the MB, had to do reset the BIOs to ignore the cpu fan , then the machine booted up like normal, thanks
check what Motherboard you guys have and dont use autodetect...

what happened to the AMD RSR driver and is it limited to a few cards yes sounds like a marketing ploy to sale newer cards??? just amd says cant do resize bar and SAM on VEGA cards but a third party modified driver . But the NimeZ driver can enable it with your 5000 CPU AND X570
having an issue, have tried both methods in this video and no drivers are being installed at all..WIN10 2004,(higher versions seem to bork my system so am stuck on this one),ryzen 5 3600,Asrock b550m pro 4,RX 5600 XT,16GB Gskill 3600....any ideas as i have tried installing multiple times without success...updated to win 20H2 with no success chipset drivers just refuse to update

@@Tomomoto9000 so finally bit the bullet and managed to upgrade to win 10 pro using britec09's code on the upgrade to win 10 pro video he did a few videos after this one, only cost £11 it worked fine, so if you are on win 10 enterprise to uodate do a clean install, after moving whatever files you need onto another hard drive and this driver update will work fine
@@larslovestech i got my windows 10 pro from a reseller site too but i haven't updated to 21H1 yet. I would look into it more before updating. I got a notification about being able to run windows 11 but that's a whole other can of worms.

Hi Brian, thank you for making and sharing this video. I am fairly ok with computers, having recently updated some of the hardware in my old HP Pavilion which was running windows 8 and is now on windows 10. I have recently had problems with my video editing software and it was recommended by the Shotcut forum that I should update my graphics driver. I am running AMD hardware including the CPU and Graphics card. However, when I try to download the "AMD Auto detect and install" tool, my AVG Antivirus (free version) is blocking the download. What do you suggest? BTW, I can't find my driver in the drop down lists which I looked through first. 🤷♂.

I Updated my AMD RX580 Drivers 2 weeks ago on my win 10 PC.
A day or two later I power on my PC, the monitor turned BLACK.😢😢😢😢
I then took out the HDMI cable and plug it into the onboard HDMI port, the PC seems working with the CPU build-in graphic Chipset.

Hmmm, well that was fun, tried installing the updater program on my ryzen 3700X and it just sat there checking for updates forever, and it locked up my computer from doing anything (couldn't even do ctrl-alt-delete) only way out was to hit the reset button on the tower... Not a good experience.

Don't think it's available for my Windows 8.1 installation running Ryzen 5 5600X. (just so happened I upgrade my mobo and processor to that today too).
Should be available on my Windows 10 installation though (yea both on same PC, I dual boot them)

@@Britec09 yeah no issues before. Everything started to mess up so I rolled back the updates to a week earlier. Everything is fine now.

Do i need to download motherboard drivers after this ?
I have a R9 3900X processor on x570 Ace and a 3070, running Win10. When I looked at device manager I didn't have a Security Devices tab and when I downloaded the AMD Chipset Software Installer I didn't have the AMD PSP Driver or the AMD GPIO (for Promontory) driver. Should I be making sure my PC has these two drivers and does this have something to do with TPM?
Don't use the software installer as MSI motherboards are bad at detecting on it, I know from experience as I own several of them. Download the drivers manually. Scroll down and select chipset, then go right to the other pane and select AM4, then select x570, click the submit button, go to windows 10 line and download to a place on your machine. Unzip the file. Select the exe file and it will install all you need.
