Nope. I enjoy listening to his take on the game but the poop stain he left on the game means his induction to the HOF, if ever, will be after he's gone. He messed up and he knows it. From what I've heard him say he is at peace with the fact that he will not be inducted in to the HOF during his lifetime.

@@woodyhayes7402it was hypocritical back then too. Pete was suing MLB because they couldn’t prove he gambled. The commissioner (Giamatti) made a deal with Pete. If he dropped the lawsuit he could petition for reinstatement later. Right after he agreed the hall of fame added a rule that once you’re banned you’re ineligible for nomination. So Pete can’t be nominated no matter what. It’s wrong and completely ridiculous to think Pete was the only one in baseball to place a bet. In fact, I’m certain there are guys in the hall of fame who gambled.

The Commissioner's office listened, too- and heard Pete's lies. They bent over backwards trying to get the guy back in the game's good graces. He was arguably baseball's greatest star at the time, holder of the all-time hit record and many others. But he lied and he kept on lying, and he showed no contrition. Rose really had the appropriate hitting philosophy. I watched his at bats against Nolan Ryan.. Rose held his own against Ryan's fastball.. now, Ryan starts to get frustrated.. that he can't get Rose out with his best pitch. Then, it becomes a battle of Ryan's secondary pitches.. and if he can get those pitches over the plate.
