Rose manages to be the best analyst and color guy around. His knowledge is vast, and he's funny to boot. When he talks shop, even HOFers like Thomas and Rodriguez listen like they are at the feet of the Buddha

People around the country have never understood the city of cincinnati's love affair with Peter Edward Rose...it seems like you just got a taste....Pete is and will always be BASEBALL

There are a lot of non-Reds fans that are BIG fans of Rose. He's at the top of the list of players that got the most out of their abilities, and you NEVER saw him not run out a ground ball, like many of today's overpaid players do on a daily basis. Hell, he even ran to first base when he was walked! He always would try to stretch a single into a double.

The story about the egg incident with Joe Nuxhall is great. This game occurred on August 15, 1964. Nuxhall pitched 2 2/3 innings that day. The Reds lost 7-4.

@@scottdavidson7001 Betting on your team to win is what every good player on the field should be doing. Otherwise, they should not have a career.

Jesus Christmas! This man is baseball! Baseball like it used to be. Baseball like it should be. Not a homerun strike out show. Something scientific and thoughtful and something that mattered. I truly love baseball. And I cannot watch the game the way it is today for more than 10 minutes. And most of the 10 minutes I'm waiting for something from someone that would be thought provoking. Something with skill. Not just swing from your ass power. I'll listen to 10 minutes of Pete rose talking baseball then two hours of today's product on the field.

Wow! I didn't know Rose's and Nuxall's careers overlapped. That's a funny story. I would have liked to see Nuxy respond to it.

Fox Ohio ain't got nothing better to do than push Pete Rose campaign for baseball hall of fame entry. From "Charlie hustle" to "Charlie cry baby". Yes Pete was great, but he broke the rules on more than one occasion. His own teamates say he should not be entered into Hof.
