Very cool you were able to do this follow up video on these new Bezzera machines from host 2017. The Duo with the Bezzera group is so tempting! Love your channel, I get to pretend I understand German

Thanks for the great overview guys! One thing that Luca didn't quite answer: does the pre-infusion work with water tank? I had though that pre-infusion needs the pressure from the water line in order to work.

Also did Luca explain why he went with such small boilers for this new platform compared to something like a dual boiler from Izzo, ECM, or Quickmill? I am strongly considering selling my QM Vetrano 2b to buy the Matrix with Bezzera group. However a 1 liter steam boiler seems small, I am wondering if I would notice a difference in power/quality of micro foam, or in recovery times? Thanks again!

Is the pre infusion only possible with the E61 Group?

No, also other brew units can do that, best results mainly if the machine is connected to the main water

I am not sure about touch displays surrounded by hot and wet...probably wired control unit with same large LCD would be safer both for unit and operator....extreme solution would be to use phone/app for control, but that would also be weak point of machine meant to use for decades.
All this lights make me thinking we will yet see heated composite cast E61 group, chrome plated to look like original one. Oh well, I'm just whining.

I think the display is good protected. but these question we can surely answer in 5 years. What is good: bezzerea developped the display by themselves with Gicar together. So the rights concerning the display are belonging to bezzera, so there will be no future problems with spareparts.

I understand and agree - Bezzera didn't throw into machine first junk they found. Sure, they tested. I am dead sure one will be able to swap hydraulic parts as they can be found similar, if not equal. Display after 5+ years? What if supplier has switched production to other model and to use new model, control unit has to get firmware update (you get idea, I'm not an engineer). My mind would be calmer if this displays would be used on a commercial machines which aren't made to be disposables and manufacturer has plan A and plan B for how to repair them. Personally I think this looks nice but for longevity I'll stay with switches and lamps as I have enough display oriented
      devices to throw away) Gruess!

yes sure, with every advantage to take one disadvantage.... I often prefer the lever group machines...
