    1. Water temperature
    The temperature of the water you use in your enema is very important. If it’s too cold it can shock your colon and cause it to contract and cramp. If it’s too hot it can damage the delicate mucosa lining of the bowel. The temperature should be slightly above body temperature, between 36 and 40 degrees celsius (or 98 and 105 degrees F).
    2. Massage
    This has been one of the most helpful things for me when it comes to supporting optimal waste removal. Massaging your tummy while the water is inside helps to soften and break the waste up and get it moving. In this video I share four massage techniques I find to be very effective.
    3. Experiment with the amount of water you let flow in
    I don’t think a successful enema depends on how much water you can take in. I find introducing a little bit of water, then turning the clamp off at the first sign of discomfort, relaxing, deep breathing and massaging for a couple of minutes, then letting in a little bit more water, and continuing this process until you feel the need to expel, is the best option.
    4. Pick the Right Time to do an Enema and Don't Rush
    Make sure you don’t do an enema after eating a meal. Most people find the best time to do one is in the morning, after your first natural bowel movement (if you have one) and emptying your bladder, and before your first meal. The function of our bowels is closely related to our psychological state, and feeling frazzled and hurried, will cause your bowels to tighten and restrict gut motility. Having a calm state of mind will relax your colon and ensure you have a much more successful enema. I suggest you put aside a good half an hour, to practise an enema.
    5. Experiment with Different Positions
    Positioning yourself in certain ways helps the flow of fluid into the rectum, and aids the water distribution and retention. I find particular positions work for different people, so I suggest you experiment and find what works for you. Personally, lying on my back generally works fine, but sometimes I find lying on my right side helps things move along more. When the waste just doesn’t seem to to budge, getting on all fours, on my elbows, can really help things along. Other positions include lying on your left side or lying on your back whilst hugging your knees up to your chest.
    6. Create a safe relaxing space
    I find creating a space to do the enema is absolutely crucial. Don’t just lie on the floor somewhere in your house and plan to get it over with as soon as possible. This doesn’t mean you need a special room dedicated to doing your enema. It just means make an effort to create a special space for yourself. Wherever you decide to do it, lie a towel or yoga mat down (or both) so that your back is comfortable, light some candles, put on some relaxing music, cover yourself with a blanket if it’s cold etc.

    I unfortunately didn’t start using enemas until a doctor recommended them to me but after using them I’ve seen a huge positive upside to my health. I wanted to say thank you for this video because it really has helped improve the quality of when I do one. Especially the massages, at first I was a bit skeptical but after trying it a few times I’ve been able to get better at finding the techniques and locations that help the most. This is by far the most informative video to date that I’ve found to improve the success of using an enema. Thanks!!!

    a more effective (advanced?) position is to "lay down like normal but spread ur legs in a 90° angle so that ur left knee points up into the sky straight and the right leg touches the ground" and then to put the right food underneath the left - and tilt ur body slightly on ur right shoulder
    that way the water can run to the ascending colon, and u can massage the descending one (where stuff sometimes gets stuck and the area that tends to suffer IF something gets stuck there more 😅) better

    another effective way to "massage" it all around ur colon:
    grab urself tightly by the skin of ur bellybutton and do an up/downward motion (not "up down towards ur chest", but rather up down in relation to the floor) with that hand
    makes all swashing sounds 😋, not the gentlest technique, but possibly the most effective

    Hi Olivia. I want to give myself an enema with a volume of 2-2.5 liters, but I have read that if you use water equal to body temperature 34-36C, then the water begins to be absorbed, but using colder water with a temperature of 30C does not work. less than 300ml and at the same time there is a strong urge to urinate that you cannot restrain even for a couple of seconds. And when using a 1.5 liter enema with body temperature, water is poured in almost immediately, but I don’t feel any discomfort at all so that I need to stroke my stomach, and even more so the feeling of being stuck somewhere in the transverse colon, while the urge to defecate is completely absent, it scares me, many write that you need to use salt so that the water is not absorbed, but I also read another opinion that this can cause intestinal irritation.

    • @OliviaBudgen
      @OliviaBudgen  2 месяца назад +1

      Hello, the temperature should be at body temperature or a little warmer. I haven’t heard that that means it will automatically be absorbed by the body, although a little water always is, which is fine. I’ve never experienced needing to urgently urinate 🤔 Do you ensure you always pee before the enema? Do you sometimes put the 1.5 litres in at once? I never do that as it’s too much and will pour out, like you say. I just put in what feels comfortable and nice. I’ve never personally use salt either… I’m sure adding a touch of natural salt won’t be harmful, but I wouldn’t overdo it.

    • @camilas2212
      @camilas2212 2 месяца назад +1

      @@OliviaBudgen Lately, I have been starting to feel the urge to defecate immediately and with a small amount of water, about 150-200 ml, even if it’s impossible to keep the water at 34C, I go to the toilet and after that I pour in the water that was left in the bag, well, it turns out that 1.2-1 , 3 liters out of 1.5 liters, but I feel like I can do more. I didn’t notice that I wanted to empty my bladder to the toilet, but I didn’t hold it for a long time, maximum 1 minute, but I noticed that with such water you don’t feel anything at all, unlike 30c, there’s a maximum for me It was possible to introduce a maximum of 700-800ml and there was no question of any retention.

    hi! 2 questions.
    1) do you think mountain valley spring water is a good option? all the distilled water in my area is in plastic bottles -_- (and obvi thats no bueno) i also heard that you need to be careful about the minerals in your enema! (can apparently cause too many electrolytes/bad reactions in some people😯) thoughts? (sorry this was kind of a 2 part question)
    2) one of my concerns is heating the water up to the right temp then once im ready, it will have cooled down slightly. (even if i have everything set up before hand) does the water cool down fast?
    (never done an enema but been curious about them recently! very informative videos!!❤)

    • @OliviaBudgen

      Hi 👋🏻 spring water is fine. I wouldn’t worry about the minerals unless you’re doing them every day. The water won’t cool down too fast. The colon won’t be completely empty, that’s not possible with an enema. You will be able to feel that it’s partially empty though 🙂

    Hello! Is it normal to feel a little crampy after doing an enema? Only have done a few but I was worried if this was normal or not? Thank you!

    • @OliviaBudgen
      @OliviaBudgen  8 месяцев назад

      It is normal, but shouldn't happen every time you do it. It could mean there is more stuff in there which needs to come out sitting in the lower colon, or that you're filling up too hard and fast and putting a lot of pressure on your colon, or it could just be your body getting used to the procedure if you're just starting out, like you say you are. How are they going now? :)

      I would recommend getting an at home enema kit and using clean filtered water. But you can use the saline enema if you are desperate and don't have access to anything else. Just don't do it regularly.

My lowest weight was 46kg being 167 cm when I started raw vegan diet 7 months ago but now I started to look into medical medium stuff and eating little bit potatoes, quinoa. Potatoes made my boobs grow bigger which is weird and I don't mind lol. I have always had very petite body but it's hard to keep feminine weight with raw foods. Also my body has hard time to digest bananas, frozen is little bit better.

    When I do enema I get mostly liquid out. No hard stool out. But I do feel better. I do have chronic constipation and need this extra help. Not getting solid out is a bad thing? Thanks.

    • @OliviaBudgen
      @OliviaBudgen  Год назад

      That can happen sometimes for a couple of reasons: the main one being you may not be holding the water in long enough, so it doesn’t have the chance to soften and move the waste matter out. When you allow the water to flow in and then close the clamp, does it feel comfortable for you to lay and hold the water in for a few minutes whilst massaging your tummy etc? Or do you feel a sudden urge to go and then only water comes out? Also, when the water comes out, is it brown or clear?

      @@OliviaBudgen Hello,
      Today I encountered the same problem. I poured water inside (didn't set a timer), just did it for some time, massaged my abdomen, continued pouring water. Then when all the water was gone, I stood up and went to the bathroom, only water came out. Three hours passed, and besides water, no stool came out. After some time, I started to get a headache. What mistake could I have made? The only thing I noticed was that the water had cooled down. Could that have been the reason for my failure?
      I want to add that this was my second procedure. The first water procedure was successful. At first, only water came out, then the water was already brown, and the third time my stool completely cleared the colon.

      @@kristinapustovit4793 okay, it could be a few factors… yes, the water needs to be more lukewarm, if it’s cold, it can cause the muscles of the colon to tighten and doesn’t support evacuation. Or, you may just be very backed up, and you needed to do a couple more rounds to move the waste out. Have you tried it again?
